I hope your Monday run felt good (or is going to feel good if you are running on later in the day today)! I love Monday runs because after a rest day from running my body feels a whole lot better and ready to run!
I’ve got some random Monday things to share with you!!
*I used my sister’s gym again and did a little progression run because those are my favorites… I started at a 7.6 mph and with each mile I bumped it up .1 mph. 8 miles total with an average of 7:35ish. I love progression runs because it allows my body to ease into the faster paces and it helps to teach me to not fly and die (***what I love to attempt on race day) and build up my speed throughout the run.
*Just a girl and her dog house filled with 6 dogs walking around giving them some fresh air.
*I shouldn’t have started to get my eyebrows waxed because I am completely hooked now. And she tints them. I don’t know if I can ever stop this. I do it about once every other month and it makes me happy because I have no idea what to do with eyebrows.
*Brooke thoroughly enjoys watching the entire process!
*I know I have posted about 500 pictures of my nephew’s smile but it literally melts me. There have been numerous times when I am in a grumpy mood and then he flashes the smile at me and my mood makes a complete 180.
*EVVVERRYYYYY DAY. What did I used to eat before these? The other day we didn’t have enough time to make pancakes before Brooke’s school and I think we both had a nervous meltdown.
*Somebody gave Brooke a donut and then she returned it to me like this… she knows what’s important:
*Below she is pretending she is me talking on my phone to my sister and talking in a high pitched voice and talking as fast as she possibly can… she has nailed mimicking things.
*Do you ever kick your heels when you run? Josse and I were talking about this the other day and it is something we have both been known to do when we are really tired at the end of the race. When I was in high school I would get home with bleeding ankles because I did it so much. It doesn’t happen very often for me anymore but it still happens sometimes and I have to focus in on my form again and my stride.
PS stance no-show socks are my favorite.

kicking myself when I run happens all the time. I never notice until I’m done with my run and have dirt, and scratches all over my calves and ankles. When I was in high school and running in spikes I couldn’t figure out why I was always bleeding after a race…then I realized what was happening but since I don’t notice, it’s hard to stop that.
Summer!!! We are so ready for summer at our house! I’ve been craving ice cream cones like crazy and I think today is a good start day for that.

Happy Monday indeed! I ordered a pair of compression sleeves to help now that I’ve been cleared to run again and was able to use them for the first time tonight (thank you Wisconsin weather for finally cooperating). They are amazing! No leg pain at all.

Okay Janae this is a completely random question but I was wondering, after the majority of your runs do you usually eat a post work out snack? Or do you go straight to eating a meal? Or does it just depend? Lol sorry I’m just curious because you’re an amazing runner and I’m impressed how you keep so fueled for all your runs! Is it crucial to have a post work out snack or does it not matter as long as you get some carbs and protein in? Not sure if you’ll see this but if you do it would help so much! Thanks again:)
