Silentish Saturday… time to go RACE (a train) + obsessed with this.

Four Friday miles and a 12k race day… against a train?  Can we keep up with the train today… I have no idea.

It felt like I got to run with somebody because I talked to my sister on the phone for most of the run.  When we were younger we designed two homes that were next to each other with a tunnel underneath where we could hang out together all of the time… we need to get those plans to an architect.

Brooke hung out with my mom for a minute while we went to Knox’s pre-school open house day!  Big week coming up over here for these kids!

IMG 3342

Knox went with his mom after the open house and we went to eat.  It was 10:30 and we were both starving so we went to the only place we knew open for good food… while I was in line the person there gave me a free enchilada to eat with my meal:)  I’m glad others see that eating for two is very important right now.

I went to get some pregnancy pants at H&M (so I can start wearing something other than the same dresses each day ha) and Brooke wanted to look for clothes for her sister.

She needed some new running shoes so we hit up the Nike Outlet sale.

Refuel.

My friends at General Mills are the best kind of people.  They restocked our Bisquick supply.  The best gift possible.

Went to get gas for the race and a stop for french fries and fry-sauce sounded heavenly so I went for it.

Added this song a few times to my race playlist…

We have an early wake-up tomorrow (not as early as my last two races luckily:) and my TRAIL SHOES (it’s been forever since I last wore those) are ready to go!

How excited Andrew is for this race:

Hope you guys have fun! A race is my favorite kind of date but I am not not sure my husband agrees ha. Vacation week starts today for us so the entire family is very excited about that! We’ll stick around for a few days (and enjoy our pool) then we’ll take a trip to an attraction park and to see a major league baseball game.

Good luck with the race! I have a run today after work (going to be like 93 and lots of humidity so we will see how far I make it!) and picking up a rental car for a few days in Nashville!

Well I feel like I should have run that race after all…or at least got my run done super early. My kids woke me up around 5 and I’ve been up since.

Good luck at your race !!! We actually have a weekend of nothing planned, the 1st in many many months. Looking so forward to just hanging out at the house and doing whatever we want here at home. Amazing how good home feels.

Your race sounds so fun! We are having a lazy morning at home with baked French toast and meeting a friend later for a run!

My oldest starts school in about a week so we are trying to soak up the last week of summer fun. I hardly ever look forward to school starting. ?

Hi Janae. I just got home from going to the beach with my sister (who is here in Lisbon visiting from Berlin) and my husband. It was so much fun being with two of my favorite people.
Later on I’m going for a run.
Hope you have an amazing day and that your brother is having a great time here in my country. Maybe some day you can come and visit Portugal too.

1. 6.7 mile run to race
2. 3.1 mile race
3. 2.2 mile run to complete today’s long run

I’ve never had bisquick pancakes. We’ve always eaten hungry jack or kodiak mixes. Currently, I’m eating dark chocolate kodiak cakes. They’re like protien filled cupcakes!

Have a great race! Looking forward to the recap.

LOVE how you put in a race with your long run… that’s the best way to break up a lot of miles in my opinion! I need to try those dark chocolate kodiak cakes ASAP! Enjoy the rest of your day Lee!

I’m up to running 10-ish minutes at a time now, so I’m going to walk/run one of my old loops today:) My tibia has been feeling strong lately and I’m getting excited for my first 5k post stress-fracture in a few weeks.
I’m also heading to my friend’s new apartment to help her set up all her new furniture. I’m handy with tools so I’m a hot commodity around moving season.
Enjoy your race!

Reply

I hope your 10ish miles were fabulous today and that your tibia felt great. GOOD LUCK at your 5k in a few weeks, that is so exciting! THANK YOU KERRI!

So do you have friends who work at General Mills and sent you that, or was that a gift from the company? Do they sponsor you?

Reply

HEY TRACEY!! I have done a sponsored IG post in the past and I have a sponsored post coming up with General Mills in the future but it’s not a continual sponsorship:) A few years ago I went out to Minnesota to tour General Mills and I met some girls that work there and we have stayed friends! I hope you have a great day!

Today I already ran 4 miles and I’m going to dinner with my boyfriend’s family and grandparents. Have a great day :)

Your breakfast cooking photos always make me hungry! Do you chop up your little potatoes or buy them frozen? Racing against a train sounds like a once in a lifetime thing. Have fun out there!

Today is our last day of vacation and I want to try a kayak or paddle board on the lake before packing up. Then watercoloring, board games, and dinner out! So sad to leave but excited to be in my own house again.

Reply

Hey Christina!!! Thank you! We just chop up our potatoes when we make hash browns. ENJOY Your last day of vacation… sounds perfect!

Having a great home cooked breakfast prepared by my boyfriend. Then we are taking my two sons and his son back to school shopping. Two teens and one preteen should be a fun day.

Okay, that breakfast sounds PERFECT!!! Enjoy the shopping as much as possible haha!

Good luck to you and Andrew at the race!!! I’ve never noticed any pregnant women at races, but now I will pay attention more. Super impressed with you for continuing to race.

Today I am sorting laundry and binge-watching the Defenders on Netflix, then going out for an easy run around sunset when it’s cooler out. Happy Saturday!

Reply

I want to watch Defenders!!! Enjoy your sunset run, sounds perfect! Thanks so much Cat!

Well, I guess I missed something along the way…I thought Know and Brooke were the same age all this time. So Knox is actually a year younger? (I thought you mentioned Brooke is going to Kind.?) Oh, how nosey us readers can be…..ha!

Can’t wait to hear about the race….and Andrew’s perspective on it too!

3 things:
1. cycle class
2. body pump class (light weights since I was kind of tired from cycle)
3. making your yellow cake, peach, heath bits pie later…..the family LOVED it the first time I made it so its time for a repeat!

Reply

HEY KATHY!!! The kids are only like 5 weeks apart but the kindergarten cutoff falls right between their birthdays… Brooke has also already done two years of pre-school and this will be knox’s second year! Cycle + pump… way to go and YAY FOR THE yellow cake mix of goodness… ENJOY!!!

Reply

Good luck with your race!!

Today was 8 miles of hills and trails with my xc team. The hubs added a basket and a new headlight to my scooter so I definitely have to get a ride on her today!

Reply

Watched my son come in first place in his high school cross country meet (17:31)! Going out for pizza to celebrate! Good luck at your race tomorrow.

Reply

HOLY COW!! That is so so fast! Tell him congrats Michelle! THANKS!

I have a question, I hope you don’t mind me asking here for you or any readers that catch this comment. Just delete me if not allowed, I’m not offended. I’m looking for a running app that will allow me to base my runn off of time or distance. I’ve googled this like crazy and maybe there’s not one. But sometimes, I’d like to run for 45 minutes, or 1 hour, whatever depending on how much time i have. I want it to map out a run that should take me about that long. Or say I’d like to run 5 miles, so it will map it out 5 miles exactly. Would be nice when I”m not at home and you don’t know the streets as well. So instead of a remembering ‘breadcrumb trail’, it loops you around or whatever, but it’s exactly 5 miles when you get back to your start spot. I thought I heard about an app like this on a podcast from Out for a Run, but I can’t find it now. Anyone know of an app that would do this? Thanks for any info.

Reply

HEY GIRL!! I’ll ask this tomorrow as a question so hopefully someone knows this app!

Hi Janae I apologize that this is random but is there a quick way to contact you? I wanted to ask for some advice
