Sudden Burst of Energy and SaladS

While I was napping under my desk yesterday during my lunch break (I wish I was kidding) I got a text from Billy asking if I wanted to go night skiing as soon as I was done with work.  I don’t know how, but my body was suddenly injected with energy and I was stoked to get my ski on.  We loaded the car, I put on 35 layers and ate my favorite brand of apple (honeycrisp) with some pb.

As we were driving to the resort (Brighton) this little number started to scare me.

Photo 3

We got to the resort and found out that they don’t do night skiing for two more days.  Boo, such a hard life I live…no skiing the day after a vacation;)  This was kind of a good thing because judging by the fact that I spend 90% of my winter days within 6 inches of my space heater, I don’t know if I would have made it down that mountain alive.

Photo 6

Plan B: Head on over to our friends condo near Park City and hang out and then go to dinner with them in Midway.  Two of the friends are from Australia and taught me an awesome Australian accent, our waitress thought I was from Australia too, I am so proud.

Pizzeria with paper as tableclothes with crayons= I beat Billy in 6 consecutive games of tic tac toe.

I had the margherita pizza and a pear and gorgonzola salad and Billy had the chicken and pesto pizza.

Photo

Some fun things I learned from my new Australian friends:

1.  They call a salad, SALADS and when you order a Subway sandwich they ask you what salads you want on your sandwich instead of toppings.

2.  It is common in their area to eat spaghetti with sour cream and doritos.

3.  They said that you can’t take your leftovers home from most restaurants because they are afraid of lawsuits if someone gets sick off of the leftovers.  This hurt my heart a little bit, what is better than eating leftovers the next day for lunch?  Nothing.

4.  No central heating (in their area).

5.  Utah ice cream is really really good and they would eat it everyday like I do if they lived here.

I love going out to dinner when their are other girls with us too because dessert isn’t even an option, it is just something you do.

Photo 4

Billy and I split the mint chocolate chip and hot fudge sundae.  Cherry just for decoration, I am not a fan.

———————————————

I didn’t workout yesterday but I am thinking a little spin bike action is just what my body and soul need at some point today.

——————————————–

Do you ski or snowboard or neither? Do you have ski resorts near you?

-SKI and Billy snowboards.

What is your ideal sundae?

-Vanilla ice cream (I am boring) with hot fudge, caramel and marshmallow topping.  I could do without the nuts but extra whip cream is necessary.

Would you rather live somewhere that is ridiculously hot or ridiculously cold?

How are you getting your workout on today?

Aw, that’s a bummer that it was closed! I love snowboarding best! We have a bunch of skiing places near me since it’s winter here approximately 8 months out of the year.

Ideal sundae = vanilla with hot fudge and caramel and sprinkles

I prefer cold weather over hot! I love layers and boots and hate humidity.

Tonights workout is an elliptical session and some strength circuits!

Reply

EIGHT MONTHS OF THE YEAR….that is crazy. You need to teach me how to snowboard. Enjoy your elliptical session and strength training!

Reply

Sour cream and doritos on spaghetti… that is so interesting!!

Brandon and I both love to ski. Growing up my family went skiing for every vacation (we never went anywhere tropical or hot). We don’t have anything close to skiing around us… we live in Houston which is 100 degrees like 11 months out of the year. Ha! So it is super fun when we get to travel and go somewhere cold to enjoy the slopes.

Reply

We should all go skiing together….next blogger meet up. I can’t imagine living with that weather! Is your AC bill out of control?

Reply

Well in the summer we keep our AC pretty reasonable compared to most people. Like 78 degrees or so until we go to sleep. This keeps our bill under control! I would totally travel for a blogger meet up/ski trip. :) Have a great day!

Reply

I like to ski, but I don’t do it very often since I live in Florida. But, I prefer it warm.

My ideal sundae sounds like yours, minus the whipped cream (for some strange reason, I hate whipped cream).

Tonight is running intervals with my running group.

Reply

Come visit and we can ski together. WHAT….no whipped cream….JINA!! I will try to forgive you. Have a blast with your running group doing intervals, that is awesome!

Reply

I used to ski, but it really bothered my knees, plus I don’t like to freeze lol. Night skiing sounds kind of awesome though.

I’d rather live somewhere cold. I spent four years of college in Michigan, so I think I can hack the cold better than the hot.

Reply

Dang, I bet Michigan was FREEZING!! Come night skiing with me. PS I am still mad at that race last Saturday!

Reply

Believe me, I’m still mad too!

Reply

Chris is sick, and went into a coughing fit at 4:30am. He went soundly back to sleep, I laid there WIDE awake, so went to have some quality TM time this morning. It was been a while since I did a workout in the 4:00 hour. It was amazingly peaceful.

I would live somewhere HOT in a second.
I do not ski, but it is one the bucket list to get a lesson from a “hot” instructor at a mountain town ski restort.

On a side, just had hot chocolate for breakfast. I can see why you love that winter ritual.

Reply

Erica, I am SO sorry that Chris is sick. That breaks my heart. A 4 A.M. TREADMILL RUN….okay, I am kind of like you and that actually sounds really delicious. I am drinking my hot cocoa as we speak. Only 9 days of school.

Reply

I know how to ski, but I’m not very good at it. I’d like to get into it, but it’s just so damned expensive (even when you get deals!).

My ideal sundae is coffee ice cream with hot fudge and walnuts, a dollop of whipped cream. I want that now. Thanks a lot… :)

Personally, I’d take ridiculously hot over cold any day. When we went to Puerto Vallarta in September, it was 90* and humid every day and I loved every second of it.

I’ll be doing a quick 1mile run today followed by a Supreme 90 Day video, probably “shoulders & arms” – love it! I have the house to myself tonight, so there may be an added yoga video thrown in the mix, but I’m not getting ahead of myself here!

Reply

I haven’t heard of that workout video…sounds fun! It really is crazy expensive, that is why we like night skiing:) I am all about the heat too and I want to go to Puerto Vallarta, that sounds like a blast.

Reply

Skiing and snowboarding TERRIFY me. :) I tried to snowboard once and it was not happening. Plus all these little kids kept flying by me and making me mad. :)

I’m not sure what my ideal sundae is but I know it involves a TON of PB topping. :)

Reply

HA….I hate it when the little kids and teenagers go by so fast and I feel old and slow. I guess it is the competitive side of us:) MHHHH….how did I forget out PB topping!

Reply

I love sundaes so much! I have to have whipped cream on mine and I’m not a fan of cherries either…
I think I’m going to run on the treadmill tonight :)

Reply

You are still planning on Red Rock right?!?! I need to sign up! Have fun on your run tonight gorgeous girl.

Reply

YES! Red Rock is happening!!! I already have a room booked :) I still have to figure out flights!

Reply

Let me talk to billy tonight but I am 99% we can go…then we could drive together. There is an airport right next to my house too and we could go together!

Reply

That sounds like a perfect plan to me!!!

Reply

I am the exception where I live, we are only a couple hours away from many ski resorts and the mountains but I do not ski or snowboard. My hubby does both though.
Soft serve vanilla ice cream, hot fudge sauce, Oreo pieces and cookie dough!
Hot for sure… I hate being cold, even though we have many -20 days here!
Going to run after work at the gym :)

Reply

How did I forget the Oreo pieces?!?! Your sundae sounds delicious. -20…that just made my heart hurt…how do you survive?

Reply

I barely survive ;)

Reply

Doritos and sourcream??? That’s very weird. In most parts of Australia, we just eat spaghetti in the normal way… (maybe they are from the sticks ;) ) And yes, doggy bags are illegal in Australia. crazy.

I want to live somewhere warm. I get so sad when I can’t run outside or have to put on 100 layers just to go to the shops.

Favourite sundae: Probably vanilla with strawberry, and little bits of chocolate mixed in.

Reply

Ha….I was wondering if that was just in her neighborhood or family! That really is so interesting to me about the doggy bags, I always take my food home too. Have an amazing day Josie!

Reply

That is funny! When I lived there I did bring home leftovers and take out!? Maybe not all restaurants enforce it?

Reply

I have never been on skis or a snowboard. I am thinking I wouldnt be very good at either.

I just got home from the gym. I had to stop my elliptical workout about 10 minutes from the end because I started feeling lightheaded and fuzzy. I had a little cereal before but I am thinking maybe it is better for me to eat something a little more substantial.

I am all about ice cream sundaes. Marshmallow topping, hot fudge, extra whip cream and nuts please! I give the cherry to my daughter! She loves them!

Reply

I think you should try it. Great job on your workout but that stinks you were feeling lightheaded…boo! Isn’t marshmallow topping the best?!?! Have a great day Shannon!

Reply

Ideal sundae is vanilla ice cream, hot fudge and M & Ms or vanilla, hot fudge, and a banana halfed in it. No cream, nuts, or cherry.

Did anyone get sprinkles..because your Australian friends wouldn’t have known what they were! They call them “100 and 1000s” or they call cotton candy “fairy floss” and oatmeal cookies are “muesli cookies”..cantaloupe is “rock melon”..whole new language.

I like seasonality with weather..so neitherr.

Reply

I do love seasons too, that is one reason I love Utah. Um, can I come over for your ideal sunday..that sounds amazing. Ha…they didn’t get sprinkles. We will be with them again tonight and so they will think I am cool when I say all of these new cool words:) THANKS!

Reply

I’m a skier! We have lots of resorts here (go figure, it is Colorado!) Keystone has night skiing too but the season pass I get only works for Copper, Winter Park, and Steamboat. C’est la vie.

My sis used to live in Midway!

Reply

Yeah…you ARE a skier…I need your help! How is your break going? Isn’t Midway gorgeous?

Reply

She loved Midway, but it was only a temp placement. She HAD to settle for Hawaii for the permanent job :) I am loving break although it’s killing the healthy eating! Extra time to bake 2 lbs of peppermint bark chocolatey goodness? Don’t mind if I do!

Reply

I love skiing AND snowboarding. When I was younger we would go skiing in New Mexico and then in college I learned to snowboard.

And I would hands down rather live somewhere hot. I can handle the cold to visit for sledding or snowboarding but living in it is horrible! I can’t wait until we move.

How did you meet your aussie friends?? I went to Australia when I was in high school and the hotels ALWAYS had spaghetti at breakfast. And beans.

Reply

Hmmmmm I have never tried snowboarding. Do you like it better than skiing? That is so cool that you went there in HS and spaghetti for bfast, yes please. Billy’s best friend lived there for 2 years and these girls came back to visit him and we all hung out. It was a blast. Have a great day!

Reply

Snowboard (to me) is more difficult. Not sure if that’s because I learned how to ski first or not. It’s more of a challenge than skii, which I kind of like, plus I feel more hardcore for whatever reason, haha.

Reply

Ahh I can’t wait to go night skiing!! It’s so fun AND not so expensive. Perfect for us newlyweds that like to have fun. ;) It has been so so cold here lately!!

My perfect sundae includes vanilla ice cream with melted peanut butter sauce, hot fudge, and some nuts on top. Umm PERFECTION.

Workout today involves cardio, but I haven’t decided exactly what yet!! ;) Have a super day, my friend!

Reply

Yep, your sundae sounds like the best one ever. I want to go night skiing together:) Have a blast with your cardio! You have a great day too!

Reply

I went skiing once when I was 12… I want to try again but I am going to wait till after my half. My husband also snow boards! Our friends just bought a condo in Park City, I want to plan a weekend getaway, they are right by the lift.

I would rather live somewhere cold. I think I have the opposite of seasonal affective disorder, I get so mad when it’s hot!

Today: weights!!

Reply

Hey GORGEOUS!! Yes, you should try it again while you are here…I will come with you! BAHAHA opposite SAD, I have never heard of that. Have fun with weights.

Reply

Sounds like a plan!

OMG it’s really a thing! I read about it like 3 years ago… hahaha.

Reply

Those are some, eh…interesting facts. Sour cream and doritos on spaghetti? I guess I can’t knock it ’til I’ve tried it…

I am doing pilates today!

Reply

You inspire me to try out pilates, I am SCARED. I know, that is how I feel…it sounds weird but I am sure I would like it! Have an amazing day Jodi!

Reply

ohh, that pizza looks soo good!
I would most definitely rather live somewhere that is ridiculously HOT (as long as it’s not crazy humid)!
I ran 10.4km this morning and had a great run!!

Reply

No leftovers in Australia!? That makes me sad!

I’m voting for no snow related activities. Skiing and snowboarding look super scary to me. :) I prefer warm weather to snow! Mostly because I grew up in an area where the entire city shuts down if we even get an inch of snow.

Ideal sundae? Brownies, bananas, chocolate/vanilla ice cream, marshmallow topping, and tons of fudge!!

PS. It was so amazing to meet you this past weekend! You are just as nice and beautiful in person as you are on your blog!

Reply

Hey Janae! My husband is from UT and we are coming for Christmas. His family lives in Mt Pleasant, but he also has fam in the Provo area…I’d love to run a 5k. DO you know of any (holiday) races between the 22nd-2nd? Just thought I’d ask :-)

Reply

HEY KIAH!! AHHH you are coming for Christmas! That is awesome, we will have to go to fro yo if you have a chance! There are two races that I know of…they are on the 31st but they are in Kearns and West Bountiful! Here is the link!

What?! No grilled PB&J sandwich? Cause after you mentioned that, I have been craving it! Why had I never thought of such a thing before? I will try it though and soon. Pear gorgonzola salad it my fave. There used to be a place in o-town with the best pear gorgonzola pizza. I miss it dearly.

I couldn’t drag my butt out of bed this morning to go to the gym so it looks like I will be doing a work out video during my kids’ quiet time.

Reply

BAHAHAH I KNOW….I was mad too…until I saw the pizza and ice cream. I will have to do that today or tomorrow, they are so so good! Pear gorgonzola pizza…I need to have that! Have fun with your workout video!

Reply

Um spaghetti with sour cream and doritos? That sounds interesting to say the least! That Sundae you ordered looks heavenly!

No workout today and I would take living somewhere hot over somewhere cold any day!

Reply

RIDICULOUSLY HOT!! Any old day. And I have a GOOD perspective because I grew up in freezing wasteland Minnesota and spent the last three years in balmy Dominican Republic (without a/c). Now I’m in Denver. Which should be a happy medium but it keeps snowing. I don’t ski/snowboard. I’m afraid of injury. What a baby.

Hot fudge sundaes are the way to go!

Reply

No leftovers?! Sad. My hubby would go hungry because he always eats my leftovers.
I hate the cold, so I would live somewhere hot – and sit in the air conditioning all day…

Reply

I would take heat over cold ANY day….however I am a huge fan of California b/c they have both beaches AND snow capped mountains.

I just read about your dance skills @ blonde ponytail. I love dancing so I think I’m going to go out….maybe I’ll ask Christina :P lol

I am not a fan of skiing or snowboarding, but Colin loves snowboarding and I can….make it down a hill :D

Reply

still sick so no workout (wahhhh!)
I have lived somewhere rediculously cold, so I am would be happy with rediculously hot now :)
and i used to skate ski and weirdly have never snowboarded ONCE! i want to though!

Reply

if I lived somewhere where it’s always cold I’d die a slow, painful death. seriously.

Reply

Wow where did u muster that energy from!! Actually I would be pretty pumped for pizza and ice cream too! Best sundae I’ve had is boring but fabulous: vanilla soft serve with hot chocolate sauce and crushed peanuts…er and one spoon only please ;)

Reply

A post after my own heart.
The perfect sundae…vanilla ice cream, magic shell, peanut butter filled pretzels and whipped cream. TDF. Utah does have some pretty delish ice cream. I spend summers in Montana and on my drive back to Vegas we stopped at grandma’s drive in heber and had the best milkshake, so thick it was like a blizzard. Yum!
I snowboard, although not as often as I wish. Definitely like my set up 9 months in Vegas when it’s not super hot, 3 months in Montana when it’s not super cold and usually a week of winter break someplace with snow (Montreal this year).
Have a lovely day!

Reply

OH MY GOODNESS…Grandma’s is amazing. I live for their shakes. You will have to let me know next time you are driving through. Pretzels…that sounds incredible. I hope you have an amazing day!

Reply

My whole family except my mom snowboards! That sundae looks ahamazing :)

Reply

I didn’t see snow until I was 25. I didn’t like it. I wouldn’t want to drive in it or live in it. I guess it’s good I live where we have a high of 72 in our winters, and have been known to go to the beach in Dec. & Jan. Today’s workout was a 6 mile run at 5am and legs and shoulders at 9:30.

Reply

I recently found your blog and LOVE it!

My husband and I are snowboarders. We have friends who live in Tahoe right next to Heavenly so we spend pretty much every weekend in the winter up there. Unfortunately, they haven’t gotten any real snow up there yet this year so we haven’t gotten to go yet!

How do you train for a Half Marathon and snowboard/ski on the weekends? I’m trying to figure out how to work my training plan around to give me rest AND get my Long Runs in.

Reply

HEY SAM…I am loving your blog now!! That is awesome that you get to go to Tahoe and board! We just barely got snow…this season is crazy? let me know how you all fit it in and thanks for commenting!

Reply

Sundae looks good, i’ll take yours..except I hate mint..oh well. I’m doing 30 min’s of core workout then 1 hour intense cycling workout indoors on trainer with about 30 other people :)

Reply

Wow!!! That sundae looks spectacular!!! I heart mint chip ice cream. And cherries. You crushed my heart a little bit by saying you don’t like them.

I don’t ski or snowboard. I haven’t tried either, maybe skiing sounds fun! I am not a fan of the cold, but not sure I would want to live somewhere crazy hot either. Tough choice…..

I did an upper body strength workout this morning. Haven’t decided what my afternoon workout will be….

Reply

OMG! That sundae looks divine!! I am not a cherry fan either. Although I do love cherry flavored things. Weird, I know. My ideal one would be vanilla with sprinkles, hot fudge and peanut butter!

Are those Aussies single? he he :)

Reply

So bummed for you that you couldn’t night ski! But so happy you went to the cute Pzza place in Midway! We love that place! My husbands family cabin is like a 10 min walk from there!! We must go together!!

I love love love skiing! Favorite places to ski are Snowbird and Deer Valley! Can’t wait to go tuis year!!

Favorite sundae is vanilla with hot caramel sauce!

I would rather live in the heat… I hate having cold toes and fingers!!

Reply

Best sundae

Reply

Fail.

Best sundae : caramel cashew ice cream with warm caramel topping and cinnamon.

We don’t ski, but we have a condo at Snowbird where we work out on nice machines, swim while snow falls on your head, and generally just be mellow.

Reply

I refuse to learn to ski. Too many pieces of equipment! I learned to snowboard the first year I lived in Colorado and never looked back!
AND Gross on spaghetti with sour cream and doritos.

Reply

Awww sad-I LOVE Brighton! I ski, the husband snowboards!

Sundae: vanilla bean + caramel + almonds chopped + more caramel + caramel mini turtles + some cereal (go lean is a good one) –GOOD!

I’d rather be somewhere HOT!

And yes, I worked out–45 minute HIIT treadmill session. It was hard stuff!

Reply

You live the good life!

Favorite sundae : Cake batter ice cream, sprinkles, whipped cream, peanut butter sauce, and maybe some m&ms. Or a reese’s pieces sundae. Mmm.

Reply

Hey I LOVE your blog..I also run a fitness blog Over at http://karmakristin.blogspot.com/

I am your newest follower!!

ski!! i rarely do it anymore though bc kyles not a snow bunny AT ALL. sad.

Reply

Oh man, that 0* scares me. I couldn’t even handle the cold in Vegas this weekend!

I’m so coveting your sundae. Since I didn’t have one at Ghiradellis on Saturday, I was really craving ice cream yesterday so I made one with a brownie in the bottom. French vanilla with hot fudge and whipped cream is always my go to. How can you go wrong with that?

Reply

I’d rather live in Cali where you can drive to either but live mildly!!! I miss skiing so bad, we hope to be on the slopes in Feb! 0 degress is super cold!! Good luck with that! I’m currently sitting in front of my space heater as we speak!

Reply

That’s cause hopefully you’ll visit meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! :)

Reply

hahahaha. If you’re not off being a world traveler, yes I hope to see you!!!!

Reply

I just booked my Park City trip!!!!!! HOORAYYYYYY!!!

Reply

I have never skiied or snowboarded, and I’m ok with that. I have a fear of falling on ice, so there you go. Also, I don’t usually get ice cream sundaes; I enjoy a nice bowl of Mint Chocolate Chip straight up. If I had to choose between rediculously hot or cold, I’d be in my 35 layers by the fireside. Heat and FancyOatmeal don’t mix =)

Reply

I will always take cold over heat! It’s way easier to get warm than it is to cool down, in my opinion. Although being from Alaska may have something to do with it…

Snowboarding! Or cross-country skiing.

Reply

Yumm! That sundae looks soo soo good! I “try” to snowboard :) But I am pretty slow (I get nervous when my speed picks up that I will tumble down the hill).

I am going to try to get in some bootcamp tonight, second week back after 4 months of injury/marathon training – so wish me luck!

Reply

I went snowboarding when I was in high school in Colorado, and was obsessed!!! Seriously, best time of my lifee. I’m scared to skii! I used to skateboard when I was younger so I thought snowboarding would be easier. I want to go back!
Anything with fudge!
Florida is usually ridiculously hot, so I’m used to it. Buuut I’m kind of sick of it, I want some snow!
I ran 4.5 miles and then did some ab work!

Reply

Brrr! And, your energy amazes me…even though you didn’t ski, you were going to. I have to teach HIIT/Ab Blast tonight and may have to “fake it” through some exercises! ;)

I miss you! Looking forward to our next meet-up!

Reply

I can adapt to ridiculously hot, but ridiculously cold makes me want to stay home in sweatpants and sweatshirts and warm socks with blankets and a space heater and never ever move.

Reply

I actually gee up going skiing every spring break in Deer Valley! Haven’t been in probably 9 years though!

Reply

I used to ski, a long time ago. Grew up in New England so had lots of ski resorts within a couple of hours.
I would rather live somewhere ridiculously neither. But maybe hot since my sister lives somewhere hot.
Sundae would have to have some sort of peanut butter cup on it or in it.
Workout today was 4 mile run and then a session with the trainer.

HONEYCRISPS (<3)

I ski and have a pass to Jay Peak, Mad River Glen, and Bolton Valley in VT.
I've never skied Park City but my family and I used to hit up Deer Valley every year!

Reply

I ski, my husband boards.
Sadly, we live in TX and thus no skiing close by although people around here call Colorado “TX West” because so many people go there all the time.
I guess based on where I live, I like the ridiculously hot atmosphere. Although today, it’s cold and wet which means I got up at 4:40, dressed and drove to the track, got out of my car and then got back into it and drove home. True story.

Reply

I saw this and thought of you, especially after reading all the sweets you ate. haha I love it- love ice cream and I’m becoming a better eater/worker-outer :) thanks for the motivation.

I love skiing!
I grew up where it is very cold, South Dakota and now live where it is very hot, Arizona. I think they both have good and bad qualities. I do miss home but it is my home, probably not the weather I miss.
Here in Phoenix you can be skiing in 3 hrs or on the beach in Mexico in 4hrs or chilling on a boardwalk in Cali in 6, so I’ve got all my bases covered here.

Reply

Haha, I am Australian and I have never heard of spaghetti and Doritoes and sour cream? And we call a salad a salad (although it’s true in subway they say what ‘salads’ do you want)
Also most restaurants will give you a takeaway box if you have leftovers- but you have to put the leftovers in yourself! Weird huh. But yeah it’s to stop them being liable somehow for food poisoning if you put it in yourself…
I love the snow but it’s coming into summer here now and I’m so happy to feel the sun (mind may change after a few 40 degree + heatwaves though)

Reply

My family moved to Michigan last year from Texas so we all tried snowboarding and/or skiing. It was a massive disaster. I was so scared when I got to the top of the “mountain” aka bunny slopes.. I took my snowboard off and walked down. I think I’ll stick to warm weather sports from now on.

Reply

Night skiing?! That just sounds dangerous. Ive never been skiing though. Im kind of clumsy and have horrible balance so i would probably kill myself or break multiple bones.

Reply

I’m from Australia and I agree with Edwina above – I have NEVER heard of doritos & sour cream on spaghetti! (must be your friends family recipe?)

As for ‘doggybags’ we can get them in restaurants but have to pack them ourselves. It’s not as common as restaurants think they’re liable for food poisoning. Also our meal sizes are smaller – which means there generally aren’t a lot of leftovers!

I couldn’t believe it when Ive been in the US over the past couple of years and could not get over the HUGE meal sizes! Oh my gosh!

My ideal sundae – vanilla chocolate chip icecream, choc hot fudge sauce/butterscotch or caramel sauce, peanuts, marshmellows and a wafer!

As for the hot vs cold – I’m just about to move from Geelong/Melbourne in the very southern part of australia (ie. coolest parts) to Darwin – one of the hottest/most humid parts of australia. I’m in for a shock I think!

Reply

Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoaaaaaaaa HOLD UP. I am Australian and I have NEVER heard of eating spaghetti with Doritos and sour cream. Are they messing with you?!! Or do I just live in the wrong city because honestly that sounds AWESOME to me hahahaha Sooo need to try this ASAP!

Ideal sundae = chocolate AND caramel fudge sauce (gotta be hot and thick. wow there’s a dirty joke in there haha), NUTS, marshmallows, and preferably some kind of brownie/cookie/cake pieces.

Cannot stand freezing weather, but hate super hot too. But can handle either in small doses. I love my city cos it has real, distinct seasons, so I get to experience everything… but never for TOOOO long :)

Probably no workout for me today :( I’ve been sick with a disgusting cold/cough and haven’t worked out in a WEEK. I’m going BONKERS and dying to get my sweat on, but I have basically zero energy so it’s probably not a good idea. Plus I fear I’ll cough up a lung :\

Reply

OMG i forgot. a MASSIVE glob of peanut butter is a MUST in a sundae for me. preferably hidden toward the middle/bottom, so it’s a magical surprise :D

Reply

You are right they probably are messing with me ha! Hope you get feeling better ASAP!

Reply

Oh man I was awful at skiing…it’s just not my thing!
But I am loving the bike and getting my spin on! Thanks for always recommending it!

Reply

Hi Janae, I just found your blog through all or one of Cely/Paula/Skinny Runner (can’t quite remember!) – I’ve added it to my reader and look forward to reading more!

I will chime in with the comments above: I’m Australian, and I don’t call salad “salads” and I’ve never eaten spaghetti with sour cream and doritos (or heard of it) so I’m not sure whether your friends are just a little odd weird, or are from a part of Australia with strange eating habits (entirely possible, we have lots of areas where the people have their own funny little habits and sayings!)

Reply

Hahahaha. That’s funny. Do you eat sugar on popcorn? I heard that is a down under thing. No wait- maybe that was New Zealand.

Reply

Nope, I didn’t even know you could get sweet popcorn until I moved to Europe – all we have at the cinema is salty! Could be a NZ thing …

Reply

Hey, you were up in my neck of the woods last night. We probably passed each other on the road & didn’t even know it. J/K. I was actually home last night keepin’ warm. Did you like the pizza? I like it there, but it’s been a while since I’ve gone. We took my kids there once & they thought it was the biggest rip off- gormet pizza? With SPINACH on it?! They’re content with all you can eat $5 Little Ceasers. Next time in Midway try the Tarahumara- it’s YUMMY Mexican food, and perfect for runners, right?

Reply

Cold. Definitely cold. I hate heat. I hate sweating unless I’m working out.
