Leg Cages + Last Time.

(Socks, tights, vest, shirt, shoes Always grateful that people are willing to spend their Saturday morning doing this because it makes it so much easier to get out the door.  I doubt I would have ever met any of these amazing people if it weren’t for running, bringing us all together.   IMG 9680

I am the type of person who freaks out about change regarding certain things (i.e. running).  I probably would have never decided to race a flat marathon without the City Sightseeing group inviting us to go to Seville for the marathon.  I always thought hills (especially downhill) were my strength, and the idea of a flat race terrified me.

Not anymore.  I am sold.  My body feels much less beat up after a long run/workout on flat roads.   I am thoroughly hooked on locking into a pace and just gliding.  It turns out my routine brain loves the monotony of flat, haha.  My calves were sore after this workout, which was interesting to me because my calves are never sore from running?!

Some areas had a lot of ice, but we found a 17-mile loop that was ice-free, and I think we will be here often during the winter.

IMG 9684

The workout goal was 3 mile w/u, 7 miles @ 7:00, 4 miles @ 6:30, c/d

We did 7 miles @ 6:55 average, a short bathroom break, and 4 miles @ 6:23

IMG 9693

Sadly, the new route does not have water along the way, which we learned Saturday, and had to stop for some at a cafe.  We will be bringing bottles with us on this loop now.

I am so grateful Lauren is back.

IMG 9689

I regretted my ‘leg cages’ (thank you, Victoria, for that term), but it was 20 degrees out, and I am trying to be responsible;). I love leggings for easy days, but they feel constricting for speed.  These socks were perfect with my Vaporflys.  My feet are usually freezing in those shoes, but these babies kept them warm.

It was straight to games (after a burning hot shower)…

And dog walking…

Andrew RAN for a block.  It’s been 8.5 weeks since he broke his fibula and about 8 weeks since surgery.  He said it didn’t feel good but was better than he expected it to feel.

A big highlight for the weekend was going to see Santa.

IMG 9723

Beck talks about Santa all the time, but it took him a minute to warm up to the idea when he first saw him.

Magic!

Utahns/Arizonians—> Sodalicious officially offers the best Christmas cookies, and they have them now.

Welcome to flat running! You can see for miles!
My calves are always the first body part to start acting up. I do pre and post run calf stretches to prevent a PF flair.
I finished Chrismtas shopping and wrapping this weekend. The issues is then I still tend to find and buy gifts that I don’t need to be buying. Current mantra: you’re done gift buying. you’re done gift buying.
Our neighborhood does luminaires this upcoming weekend. I need to scrounge up white bags, sand and candles asap!

See for miles! A whole new world and good to know I’m not alone with the calves… I’ll start those pre and post-run calf stretches. Congrats on finishing and now it is time to keep gift buying for yourself;). We went into Christmas shopping this year thinking we were going to keep things simple for our kids but nope. We broke our promises again. Oh that will be so fun! Enjoy and happy Monday, Molly.

Oh how I miss the visits to Santa. My boys loved Santa.
Highlight of the weekend was definitely Sunday. We went to the Bronco game here in LA, and had the best family day. It’s days like yesterday that really reset my mind.
Oh my goodness…. I have barely started shopping for Christmas. But, this is a very quiet week for me, so I plan on getting a lot done. And I will be referring to your lists!
Here’s to a great new week.

Ohhh I bet you miss those. I know I will someday too. I saw you went to the game and it looked amazing. You needed that after all of the stress. Enjoy the quiet week and thanks Wendy!

Highlight– we got and decorated our tree! We get a tree from my parents’ land, which is extra fun. I’m almost done shopping! Just my sisters in law to finish up, I think. I LOVE gift-giving and receiving!!!!! Have a great start to your week!

My favorite tradition – my mom has always gotten me and my brother a new Christmas ornament that we open up December 1st. Lucky for me, she picked the Hallmark Crayola Crayon ornaments the year I was born and Hallmark has continued to make a new ornament in that line each year! (except for they repeated 2015 and 2017 and I wrote them letter how disappointed I was!) So my tree is filled with 34 Crayola ornaments so far. She wasn’t so lucky with the year my brother was born, so he gets a new ornament but it varies. Now the tradition continues as she started it for my niece and nephew when they were born too!

Oh I love that your mom has done that for you guys. Okay, I need to see your tree! Such a cool tradition. Thanks for sharing and I hope you have a beautiful day, Rachel!

We had our church Christmas banquet and I won a door prize! That almost never happens to me.

Shopping and wrapping is done. My love language is baking – so I’m spending the day in the kitchen!

See above – baking is one of my favorite Christmas traditions! I especially love it when we have company or are going somewhere that I can give a bunch away. That means I make a larger variety of favorites.

I love that you won! Congrats! I wish I was your neighbor to receive your love language haha. We would eat it all and keep you busy with baking;). Happy Monday, Kathy!

Christmas shopping…way to early yet. I like the pressure of that last week or this year, the last weekend should be fun.
The weekend? the worst…some virus has attack me, wash your hands after reading this, have no idea how to deal with this, but until my throat stops hurting and I can breathe through my nose, I’ll be watching a lot of YouTube
