Recently….

*I went on a run with Emilee and Lauren for 10 miles @ 8:31 pace.

*My brother sent me his running outfit to offer you all another gift guide.  Let me know if you want the link to his etsy shirt or if you want daily run outfit pics from him.

*I wore Novablast 3s that I got for a killer deal and loved them:

*We watched, ‘Take Care of Maya,’ and wanted to punch the TV screen.  Absolutely most heartbreaking story.

*I started watching Gilmore Girls with Brooke and it has been so fun to rewatch the episodes.

*Beck has started to pretend he is a dog most of the day… A stage that each of my kids have experienced.

IMG 8398

*I have become an expert on Steam Engines with all of the books I’ve been reading with Beck.

*My friend superglued her Vaporflys foam back together… these shoes are pricey so you gotta do what you gotta do!

*I went and got a spray tan to trick myself into thinking I live somewhere warm.

*Andrew got a gravel bike and he bought it green (my favorite color) to help soften the price tag😉

*We all needed tummy time after day #2 of Thanksgiving.

*I went to my PT because my left leg hates the track… It’s just a ‘whisper’ but I want to make sure it doesn’t turn into a ‘scream.’ Beck joined me for the fun of dry needling my quadricep.

*We went to get our Christmas tree!

Would love to hear a RECENTLY or two from you!

Recently…I also watched Take Care of Maya, oh my gosh, what a heartbreaking story. Don’t know if you recently saw that there was a verdict reached in Maya’s case and the family did get SOME justice (I know it doesn’t make up for what they’ve lost, but I’m glad the legal system is finally taking steps to make things right)…I’ve been wanting to watch a cozy, comfort show and several friends have recommended Gilmore Girls to me (I didn’t watch it when it was first out because my family didn’t have cable, but I was right around the target audience age, so I may have to belatedly become a fan! Your brother’s running OOTD is 100% something one of my older brothers would do and it made me cackle. Happy Thursday, Janae!

Truly an unimaginable story! I did see that, thank goodness. PLEASE watch Gilmore Girls. I am jealous that you haven’t watched it yet and that you get to know haha. He was just so proud, especially of his shirt… our brothers would be friends! Have a wonderful day, Emily!

Recently I’ve been getting excited for Christmas as I imagine the holiday through my kids’ eyes.
Recently I’ve been cleaning my Vitamix after making *the* smoothie by putting water and a squirt of dish soap in the container and running it on the base for a few seconds. Easy clean up! Have a beautiful day, Janae!

Courtney, I’m with you… that is truly the best part of it all! I’ll try that with my Vitamix. Hope you are loving the smoothie! Proud of us for getting our greens in:)

I think we need some hairstyling tips from your brother. ;) He’s got a healthy head of hair above that there headband. LOL Love it!

He is counting down the days for his hair to turn white hahah. That will look even cooler with his headband. Thanks Wendy, have a beautiful day!

Your brother is an absolute gem. I can’t. 🤣
Ah Gilmore Girls rewatch!! I need to do that with my daughter! We started watching the babysitter’s club Netflix series together and we both love it! It’s super cute. I read alllllll of the books growing up and she’s reading the new graphic novels.
Recently, I’ve had to push my one workout this week to the weekend because it’s a monster and between meetings and life and a sick kid I can’t make it happen until the weekend. Things like that used to super stress me out, and I’m not even sure why. Perks of getting older I think. :)

Reply

There is never a dull moment with my brother haha. Oh we need to watch that next together, thank you. You are going to rock this monster workout and the flexibility you’ve gained over the years… getting older is the best. Hope your day is a beautiful one, Mollie!

So it is a normal toddler thing to pretend to be a dog? My guy did it too! We had to repeatedly tell him he couldn’t have his own collar to wear…lol…but did buy him his own pup tag from PawPatrol complete with all of his information on it.

Reply

Normal in my family haha! Off to go get Beck a pup tag from PawPatrol (you guys are brilliant)! Hope you have a wonderful day, Amy!

Your brother is so funny!
Recently, our family is trying to not get this cold that seems to be going around.
Love that you’re all together to pick out your Christmas tree. So fun!
Have a great day

Wendy! So glad that you are doing better and that day #1 of the toy drive was a huge success! You are amazing. Hope your throat wasn’t hurting this morning! Thank you!

Clearly the dog imitation skill come from your bloodline!
Unpopular opinion: I like Christopher more than Luke! Christopher fits in Loreli’s world and they have great chemistry. Stars Hollow was so rude to not accept him. Luke is so damn grumpy. To save me from being ran out of town with that statement, I am team Jess!
Recently…I have been immediately breaking down all the boxes from my Black Friday deliveries. Look at me maturing!
Side note, I accidently bought double the amount of running shoes I meant to. Do I return or save??

Reply

There is something in our DNA or they just think Beretta is the coolest and want to be like her?! So. Grumpy. BUTTTT I don’t know if I can fully say Christopher is the one for Loreli. But I will confirm that I believe in Jess too. Ummm how does one break down the boxes (I thought a fairy did that;). SAVE. SAVE. SAVE. Not even a question.

Your brother is hilarious. Hey, can you tell me which gravel bike Andrew got? I really want one but am overwhelmed by choices and I know he did his research!!

Reply

Beth,

I believe Andrew got a Fezzari Shafer bike, made in Utah! https://fezzari.com/collections/gravel/products/shafer I could see the writing on the bike in one of the pics Janae posted.

Another great choice you can’t go wrong with is the Specialized Diverge. I have a 2021 Comp E5. Here is a link to the current year version of my model: https://www.specialized.com/us/en/diverge-comp-e5/p/217058?color=350287-217058

BETH! Haha thank you! Andrew will be responding to you any moment now. Excited for you!

I would love to see what options Andrew put on his bike as well!

SO sorry about that! It went to spam! Here it is:

Beth you are totally right!! I looked everywhere, I really wanted to try Fezzari – they are local to us and its a full carbon bike. I know they are having a cyber deal going on still. Check this out: https://fezzari.com/collections/roadbikes/products/shafer They also have an outlet too. https://fezzari.com/collections/outlet Let me know if you have any specific questions!!

Beth – Andrew’s bike is a Fezzari Shafer. You can see the name if you zoom in on some of the pics Janae posted. I personally ride a Specialized Diverge Comp E5. Can’t go wrong with either bike.

Did Andrew’s reply not show up?

I didn’t see any reply from Andrew? I’d love to see a post from him on how he likes the bike, options he chose and why, etc…

Recently it’s been realllyyyy cold here (down in the 20s, which is rare this time of year for Baltimore!). Last night I ran track outside with some ladies in the running community and I had such a hard time breathing! I always forget I need to acclimate to winter breathing too.

Recently my boyfriend bought me a mini tree and a poinsettia- now my apartment feels way more Christmasy. I love it!

Reply

That does seem way too early for your area! Way to get out there and hit the track and it definitely affects our breathing! Enjoy that Christmas feel, it’s the best:)

I, personally, would love more running OOTD pics from your brother. Your running outfits are how I want to dress when I exercise, your brother represents how I actually dress! XD
You need to convince all of your siblings to start blogs; you all have such interesting lives! (And I could really use some home improvement tips from your sister). Have a great day Janae.

My brother just sent me a screenshot of your comment because it made him laugh so hard:). I agree! Seriously, if she had a blog, it would explode. I just can’t convince her haha. Thanks Courtney, have the best day!

Hi Janae,

Would you be able to post/share the exact recipe you do for your smoothies? I know you did it before and I couldn’t go back and find it and the link to the video wouldn’t load for me. Can you list exactly how much greens/fruit/chia seeds (I remember reading a 1/2 cup) etc. that you put into it. Thank you so much!!!

Reply

Absolutely! Here is what I started with:

1/2 lb power greens (spinach, chard, kale)
1/2 cup chia seeds
Enough water to blend
Blend it
A frozen banana and frozen berries (enough to make it palatable;). My sister adds a full lemon to hers and frozen mango or frozen banana
Blend it again

Now I am up to a lb of power greens a day!

Let me know if you have any other questions! Have a beautiful day, Elissa!

Yes…”Take Care of Maya” was super interesting. I think this podcast, as a whole, is right up your alley and it contains an episode specifically breaking down that documentary. :)

Recently I made appointments with the Physical Therapist and Acupuncturist for my hip that is still angry after the Big Bear Marathon AND at the very same time I was researching my next race to sign up for, hah! Runner math = I might be injured so let’s sign up for something!

I’m so happy to see that Andrew’s healing up well enough to ride again. That must be a huge mood booster for him (and maybe you too ;))

Reply

RUNNER MATH. I feel this deeply haha. I am SO sorry about your hip after Big Bear, that marathon took me longer to recover from than any other. I hope it is still recovering and not an injury. Keep me updated! Absolutely… everyone is happier in this house when we get movement ha. Happy Thursday, Michelle!

Not recently but I watched the entire run of Gilmore Girls seasons with my daughter when she was a little older than Brooke. To this day it is still “our show” and we refer back to favorite episodes :)
I also was an expert on every kind of construction vehicle thanks to my 3 boys!!! haha

went for a run with my gang of run club friends yesterday evening to check out some of the Christmas lights….I somehow managed to get lost, which isn’t good when you’re leading, but they didn’t know the route I had originally picked anyway, so all good…and then something with whiped cream on it afterward at our fave coffee shop…..didn’t sleep after (my head no longer likes anything with the word expresso it in before bed)….but catching that Christmas spirit before I turn into mr scrooge
