Friday Favorites!

(shoes, tank, bra, shorts)

Ten miles @ 7:44 average with my friend Kassi in the rain. Running in the rain is so fun for me as long as I have a hat on. That is a requirement.

I tried out the Kinvara Pros yesterday! They are meant for the easy to medium days, and I’ll get some more miles on them and post a review of my thoughts but so far, so good.

My last pair of Kinvaras were the 4s, so it’s been a minute since I tried a pair. One of the benefits of posting every second of your life is the ability to have a detailed genealogy of what shoes you have worn over the years (picture from a day that a friend and I ran to every different ice cream store we could in Santa Cruz… I need to do this again):

When your hairdresser sends you home with your current favorite food.

I went a bit lighter and a bit shorter.

In Knox’s opinion, it’s never too chilly to get in the water at a splash pad.

I got everything ready for Brooke’s birthday, and she is going to love this paper:

Let’s get into some Friday Favorites!

*If you are looking for a show that is probably too intense and makes you feel anxious the entire time, this one is for you. I loved it but didn’t like it <- I know that doesn’t make sense.

*Okay, just one more pair of sneakers, and then I’ll take a break, but I love these.

*I don’t know how I lived before joggers. This sand pair is so lightweight and soft. I love the thick waistband and could live in these. Size down in them!

*This podcast. Shocking. The pain these women went through is unimaginable.

*Our family photos from Heather! Utah friends, she is fantastic if you need a photographer!

I love them so much I might do Christmas cards for the first time in my life.

I love rainy runs-but yes, hat is a must!

I am all about the Saucony endorphin line………..I already have 5 pairs of the shift I am rotating thru, ha! I guess I would try the speed or the pro:)

This weekend is hopefully some hour long runs in the sunshine! 90 degrees but bring it on!

No hat in the rain = I’m miserable. Five pairs… atta girl! I’m currently in a sweatshirt with a blanket and worried we are already moving into winter here! Enjoy those temps for me🤣!

Your family photos are beautiful. Where is your dress from? I always struggle with outfits..you are giving me inspiration.

Im obsessed with joggers too and love those adidas sneakers!!

I’m looking forward to celebrating my daughters 10th birthday on Sunday. We are having family together at my moms cottage for a bbq and cake (she had her friend party last week) and we are going to see the Barbie movie tonight

Have a great weekend!

Hey Ashlea! So I actually stole it from Lauren and she can’t remember where she got it a few years! I’ve given up finding dresses and just borrow ha. Happy 10th to your daughter! That sounds like the perfect weekend. Let me know what you think of the Barbie movie💕

I cannot get over the Retrievals. I keep thinking about it. I recommend that and the Barbie movie for everyone. I would take another pair of Hokas which have saved my running! Nothing too much this weekend, but heading to a lake vacation next week – so excited! Have a great day :)

Right?! I just cannot imagine being in a place with an addiction to cause that kind of pain to people either. It’s all so tricky. I need to see the Barbie movie. Thank goodness for Hoka, I wonder how many runners they have saved over the years. Happy lake vacation next week! Thanks, Julie!

Might I ask where you found that adorable wrapping paper? It is perfect for a birthday I have coming up.
I do so love running in the rain – and with a hat of course.
Free shoes would be Novablasts. They make me feet and me happy as a daily trainer.
This weekend we are going to my sister’s cabin at the lake with family. Just the retreat I need after getting in an 18 miler in the morning =]

You family pictures are fantastic!
Have a great weekend!

Your hair is perfect ! If I had to pick a pair of shoes I would pick the new Kinvara Pros because just once I would like to have a pair of running shoes that I didn’t carefully plan and budget for – just something new to try and to motivate running- sometimes running is the only thing we can control. Life is a challenge sometimes. Enjoy your beautiful family this weekend ! My granddaughter is turning 4 next weekend, cannot wait to celebrate her.

Thank you, I definitelyy had somebody else do it for me:). It is so true. Thank goodness for running, it helps us get through so much. I hope those Kinvara Pros go on sale soon and if I find a deal on them, I will send it to you. FOUR! Oh that is so exciting. Enjoy every second of celebrating!

Love your family photos!! And the doggo wrapping paper!
I just listened to Allyson Felix on Dax this morning!! I already knew a lot of her story but of course hearing it with Dax and Monica take it to another level. I may ask you to send me a pair of her shoes in the mail. hehe
Have a great weekend!

Thank you, Molly! Right?! Brooke is going to unwrap them so carefully to avoid wrapping her new favorite wrapping paper. I JUST started that episode too. Putting that on my to do list;). Thanks Molly, you too!

Such great pictures! We need to do new family pictures, would she come down here to take ours? Ha ha
I recently listened to the podcast Scamanda… So disturbing but so good. It’s about a woman (named Amanda) who fakes having cancer. The details she lays in her web of lies is incredible. Sad, sad story that kept me on the edge of my seat, made me angry, but was so good!
We’re seeing Taylor Swift tomorrow night!!! My husband’s cousin is one of her dancers. It’s been such an amazing experience for her and we are so excited!
I’m sadly dealing with Achilles tendonitis in my right Achilles, again! Uuuggg… So taking some time off of running.
Have a great Friday Janae

I’ll ask her;). Or you come hang out here with us and get them done haha. OH MY GOODNESS, I listened to Scamanda too. Absolutely horrible. You are seeing Taylor Swift?!? You are going to have the time of your life. Enjoy every second and I am crossing every finger that your tendonitis gets better fast. Thanks Wendy, you too!

I love running in the rain, with a hat, and I prefer it to start raining after I start running. I struggle walking out the door into the rain.

Currently, I would take any shoes that help my sore feet. I don’t think it is running shoe related, but from wearing sandals too much and it’s making my feet hurt while running 🤷🏼‍♀️

That is a great point… it’s so much better when it starts raining after we’ve already started running. I am so sorry about that, Mindy. I swear that happens every summer to me too. For some reason I think ‘this will be the summer’ that my feet won’t hurt from sandals but it never works. Hope your day is a beautiful one!

Hi Janae! Your family pics are beautiful!! Looks like you got them done at the perfect time too, it’s raining already??? I love my running rain jacket (from oiselle) and yes a hat is a must. I can run until my feet get soaked!
It’s finally Friday! This week felt so long! I’m taking a few days off for my birthday next week so long weekend woohoo!

Reply

We really did, we lucked out. Oiselle has the best quality, I need to get a rain jacket from them. HAPPY BIRTHDAY NEXT WEEK and enjoy the time off, Amy!

Great family photos! We are doing one of Andrew’s favorite things and going to a baseball game…Orioles vs. Mets in Baltimore. We will get a run in Baltimore and eat all the seafood too.

The adizeros are my current favorite! I desperately need a new pair lol. I woke up to pouring rain and went out to the paved trails…not a soul in sight but me. It was wonderful! I love rainy runs (most of the time).
I’ve been wondering about the retrievals!!! I need to listen. Happy Friday! Your family pictures are wonderful!

Reply

Aren’t they the best?! Are you finding them restocked anywhere? So glad you had a great run and had the trail to yourself:). Thanks Mollie and I hope your day is a great one!

Have you listened to the podcast Scamanda? Also Your Own Backyard (if you like true crime), and The Letter!

Reply

I was hooked on Scamanda! Adding the other two to my cue right now. Thanks Kelly and happy weekend!

Currently running at the beach (not on the beach) while on vaca. I love to run on vacation…no set plan or mileage/expectations, just running for the sake of running.

As someone else said, I’m ok if it starts to rain while I’m running but I hate starting in the rain. But agree a hat is a must.

I like to listen to The Skimm, Ali on the Run and Tim Ferris podcasts (Tim’s are realllly long though).

Have a great weekend!

Ali (on the Run) turned me onto The Drop podcast, and now I’m so obsessed with them! They also put out a review on a list of ASICS shoes, so now I feel the need to try the Novablasts..I’ve had very major hip surgeries, so I’m hoping they work support-wise!
And I love those joggers on you! Vuori is sooo comfortable!!! I love their dream-knit material!
