We had another raccoon sighting in our backyard. It was nighttime and the raccoon was happily eating out of Beretta’s dog bowl when he was found… So now when I leave for my runs in the morning I’m always a little worried that I might find him again.
7 miles @ 9:19 average pace!
The morning routine being back in action has sure felt nice.
And their excitement for the school day is bigger and better than ever. I don’t think they will ever complain about going to school again.
I had a doctor’s appointment yesterday! I also did the glucose test and then they drew blood. I have to come up with every distraction possible in my head when I get shots or have blood taken because if I think about it while it is happening I want to rip the needle out and/or pass out.
After the appointment we grabbed some lunch!
Skye had quality time at my sister’s house while we were at the doctor.
My love for tomatoes is still going strong so for dinner we made Spaghetti Margherita and it was heavenly. This meal reminded me of what I love to eat the night before a marathon and brought back good memories of being so excited/nervous about a race the next morning. I can’t wait to do that again.
I have a few tangents to talk about today!
*My sister really needs to open a pizza shop. This combo that she made for us had red sauce, mozarella, chicken, garden tomatoes and basil. It’s hard to eat any other pizza after trying her pizza. Buy the Sam’s club pre-made pizza dough if you like making pizza at home, it makes it so much easier (I think now you have to call ahead and let them know you are picking it up but maybe that’s just when you are like my sister and buying 20 at a time;).
*We think our chickens are going to be ready soon to start laying eggs so we have been making sure they have comfortable nest boxes. These chickens have been so good for our kids in teaching them responsibility and I cannot wait to never buy eggs again (and to give our neighbors eggs all of the time).
*I’ve been hanging out in our basement as much as possible lately because it is about 12 degrees cooler down there.
*As I told you last week, Skye has boycotted naps completely. I need some ideas on what to do for quiet time for her now… help me out!
*We went up to Sundance to take pictures for Brooke’s baptism invitations and she looked like a teenager to me.
*Being at Sundance made us really excited for ski season to start again (I probably won’t be skiing until late December to let my body recover). While we were there we had Sundance’s blackberry lemonade and watched the kids run around.
*I don’t have a lot of goals in life right now (because I feel like pregnancy takes any extra energy that I have out of me) but my new goal is to use my real camera instead of my phone more often because I love the way the pictures turn out:
Do you ever find any animals in your yard?

Does blood bother you? What about needles?
