Silentish Saturday–> That was really hard!

First time (that I can remember) of running double digit miles back to back.  15 on Thursday and 10 on Friday (in two days I ran half of what I will be running in one day… and on the roads which is not the trails… I’ve got a lot of work to do… good thing I love the work).  My body is definitely used to a rest day after a long run so the 10 yesterday were hard.

Skye decided to cut her nap in half  so I headed home, bundled her up and took her along.

When I asked her if she wanted to go on an adventure, she shook her head yes.  2.5 miles with Skye and hills which is equivalent to another 10 miles on my own;)

1st 7.5 @ 8:18 and 2.5 @ 9:31.

Cold in our mountains but really nice in the valley.

Rewind to the morning… Andrew brought home donuts and wrote little notes for each of us on the box.  Even Beretta had a note, “These aren’t for you… but I still love you.”

Skye already understands how amazing Punchy lip gloss is.

Andrew’s final clinical course check done and done… we celebrated with dinner.

We asked our server for our rolls to be undercooked and they were amazing…

1. I’m going to try and kick off a running streak! I ran November 18 and Emmy knee was still inflamed so I’m not sure how it will go but I really miss it.

2. Youth basketball followed by Chick-Fil-A

3. Building a gingerbread house (from a kit, so hopefully it will be a success).

Yesterday I had a red velvet donut and thought you would be proud!

I hope your knee cooperates and let’s you do the running streak. Chick-Fil-A sounds so good right now, I might have to copy you… along with the donut. Enjoy!

6.25 miles on the treadmill, making Italian wedding cookies with 2 of my sisters, and probably some work….I can’t guarantee I’ll get to the work but I have good intentions.
Have a good weekend! Congrats on the double digit runs. I’m excited about your ultra. I love the pictures from your trail runs.

It’s the thought that counts ha:) I’ll come over for some cookies… how fun that you guys get to do that together and great job on your run! Thanks so much Lee, have a great weekend!

I’m tuning, and then later we are taking our kids to wreck it Ralph. Let’s all hope that our 2 year old sits through it ok. And probably stop by my parents at some point.

Crossing my fingers that the movie goes well:) Enjoy your time with your parents too!

What am I doing? THIS IS MY LAST WEEKEND FOR MY RYT 200! (Yoga teacher training). Wahooooo! This journey started in January and while I’m ready to be done, it is also very bittersweet and I’m feeling all kinds of emotions. I’m not good with endings but excited to spread my wings. It’s a huge commitment but I have loved every step on my journey.

Happy December! <3

YOU GOT IN!!! AHHH BEST NEWS! I am thrilled about this. Sounds like a great day, enjoy:)

I’ve got some sooooore calves (probably from my renewed focus on forefoot landing) so I’m at the gym instead of running. When I try to run I have tightness in both shins now, but it’s definitely not the same thing I had going on, I think it’s directly tied to the sore/tight calves. The marathon is two weeks from today… why can’t my legs just go back to normal, ahhhh. The only other thing I’m doing today is working 2pm-11pm (also ahhhh).

Reply

NOOOOO!! Your body needs to cooperate. I am so sorry that you are dealing with this all so close to your marathon, so frustrating and confusing. I hope your shift goes well today and it zooms by.

Reply

1. Recovering. I ran 10 miles yesterday (first post ankle sprain double digit run) and the soreness is real! My muscles are sore, but it felt so good to be able to cover that distance again.

2. All the things – bills, pick up dry cleaning, deposit a check, have mail held, laundry etc.

3. Packing. We leave for Hawaii in the morning. I told Les I wanted to go somewhere cold for Christmas, ha! I guess since we’re coming home on the 19th, any where on the mainland will feel cold.

Reply

AHHHH Look how far you have come since your injury! I’m so happy you are feeling strong and healthy! Enjoy your time in Hawaii…. I’m jealous!

Reply

Decorating house for Christmas, getting my hair done and date night.

Sounds like a really great day… ENJOY!!!

Those mint stars look amazing!
We are just riding though the aftershocks today. Tell your husband this is not good side of Alaska. We are all safe thank goodness. Yesterday was tough and we are just hunkered down at home hoping the aftershocks will end soon and we can get a plumber out to fix a leaking pipe. I told my husband last night I want to move it Utah. You guys don’t have quakes right? I think Utah looks a lot like anchorage!

Other than that we may go for a bike ride on our snow bikes to get out of the house and I’ll do a workout on my peloton to work through some of these nerves.

Reply

Kayse. I am so so so sorry about what you went through yesterday and today. That must have been incredibly scary. I’m thinking about you guys and YES, MOVE TO UTAH:) We would love you hear. We don’t have earthquakes but ever since I was in elementary school they have predicted a big one but it hasn’t happened…
I hope that you get to work out those nerves and get some endorphins today. So happy you are okay!

Reply

Hmmm, 1. Laundry, 2. Treadmill run and 3. Clean up my closet. Exciting life !! But it’s raining today, so it’s good inside stuff. I just like excuses to get out of laundry and closet cleaning. But I do love a day at home in our jammies.

Reply

I am also doing 2 of the things that you listed (even though I should do all three;). Stay cozy inside!

Reply

I just taught Body Flow (and it was a pretty amazing playlist if I do say!!!), and I treated myself to a piece of cake. With ice cream on top. Because even though I need to buckle down with nutrition, I have been heading in such a good place lately that I wanted to somehow celebrate being able to breathe a little bit easier before I have to head off to work.

…and now I am geeking out to the Launch 6s on the Brooks website. I somehow thought they wouldn’t be out until spring and I have been debating getting a pair of Launch 5s because fresh shoes for the new year of running goals, right? (and, really, because my “play money fund” right now is super healthy and the Launch is so affordable…)

I hope you’re feeling good after two straight days of long runs! What a cool thing–I love seeing your goals reach in so many different directions of the running world! Have a great day out there–with donuts (or cake!)! :)

Reply

I think that a healthy diet includes things like cake and ice cream:) You are doing amazing Stephanie and great job on your class. I CANNOT WAIT TO TRY THE 6s!! Thank you so much Stephanie, have a fabulous weekend!

3 Saturday plans – Running 8 miles in the rain/sleet/snow. Watching college football on tv and making Christmas cookies! I love that Skye enjoys her stroller runs. ❤️ And great job on your back to back long runs. You are going to be so ready for your ultra!

Reply

Oh thank you so much! WAY TO GO getting out in that weather… enjoy all of the cookies and football watching. Have a wonderful weekend:)

Congratulations Andrew! So, I am like a broken record on Saturday :-) coffee date with my friends, dog hike with my friend and our dogs. Actually we did switch it up. She is hosting 50 parents of her son’s school tonight so after the dog hike we did some food shopping together. I’m going to do a long afternoon walk with my dog too. Off to the library now. Have a great day!

Yeah to Andrew on the final clinical course!!! whew!!!

Today was very sports oriented:
Watched HS basektball
Trail run-8ish miles
MTB test ride-15km, immediately after my run. My boyfriend wanted me to try a full suspension bike because I’m such a chicken on my hardtail……still a chicken but my gosh it was wayyyyy more comfy!
Capped off the evening by going to the town Christmas market up at the castle. So overall a non productive day task wise but wayyyy fun active-wise. Plus I got muddy TWICE!

Dance practice (JV coach), 1.28 mile run (run streak day 10 check), movie date with my bf!

Reply

1) gym
2) hair cut
3) grocery store
Done, Done and Done! Catching up on my favorite blogs now! Have a great weekend!
