Happy WEEKEND!!! Enjoy your long run, a little extra sleep today (hopefully) and some good weather (hopefully).
Brushing my hair with the My Little Pony brush.
Met Megan D for 5 miles. Lots of talking and soaking in a run together because it doesn’t get to happen as often as it should happen.
Post-run foam rolling:
Stopped at my parents’ house before heading to the airport (Knox left from there to be with his mom for the weekend).
When your backpack is almost as big as you.
Best way to travel.
Cafe Rio in the airport…
When Trolls is on the airplane tv.
Yep, still the best way to travel in California too.
Said goodbye to Brooke until Sunday afternoon.
Starving so we stopped at the first place we found.
Sushi and a bento box.
KATIE!!! The best night together which resulted in a few of us crying because we were laughing so hard.
PS BABY #2 is on the way for her:)
Heaven.
Time to get in some trail running!!!!

Three things that you are doing today?

Sally @ sweat out the small stuff
Well I just finished breakfast so that’s one thing. Lol.
My boyfriend and I are thinking of going to a museum today. It’s really cold so we figure an indoor activity would be good. We will most likely bundle up though to give the dogs a good long walk as well.
I postponed my 10 miler until early next week. High hamstrings are irritated and I just am struggling with running.
Lynn @thenotdeadyetblog
Three things: Writing, drinking gallons of coffee, and whining about the weather. Why is DC weather so weird?!
Carrie
My husband went to pick up my girls from his parents and they all won’t be home until 6 tonight. 1st time in 9 years I have been kid free and husband free this long (except for emergency surgery 7 years ago). So workout is done, coloring my hair, helping a friend with taxes, relaxing
The Hungry Runner Girl
Carrie, today must have felt SO DIFFERENT!!! I am glad that you had a day to just relax and get some things done:)
Michele at Everyday Snapshot
1. Went to the gym for a little arm and leg work, elliptical and 4 miles alternating running and walking. (having a little foot pain going on) 2. Daughter has swim lessons. 3. Going to swing by my parents house with Subways for lunch and a visit with Grandma/Grandpa. Should be a good day. Enjoy our CA weekend.
Carrie This Fit Chick
I’m currently eating breakfast!! Then going to celebrate at a fun bar in the sun with bowling and pool!
Marissa @ Run Riss Run
Your trip looks fun so far!!
We have kids basketball games and a short shake out run on the agenda and then we are taking our kiddos and my mama out of town for a half tomorrow. Then we’re taking everyone to a movie and a concert :)
Aimee

Kristina Running
Katie! Congrats on baby #2! :)
That cookie ice cream sandwich looks like serious business!!! Mmm!
Three things I’m doing today: running, setting up new patio furniture, making breakfast (right now, haha)!
Hollie
When we were in California, we had those cookies and they are amazing. It sounds like you are enjoying California. I would love to get back there sometime.
Wendy
Welcome to California! The weather should be beautiful for you this weekend! :)
This is the weekend before the LA Marathon, so shorter runs, lots of foam rolling and stretching! But 1st, heading out to the big city invitational high school track and field meet to watch my son throw shot and discuss!! He’s getting really good, and I love to see how happy he is when he’s reaching his goals!
Enjoy your little getaway! :)
The Hungry Runner Girl
Thank you Wendy, we are seriously LOVING this weather. GOOD LUCK next weekend at the LA Marathon and please let me know how it goes. So awesome for your son and watching that must be amazing!
Arthi
Have fun this weekend!!
Three things I have going on today:
-10 miles (done)! – And I did 16 on the treadmill yesterday! Been experimenting with more back to back long runs!
-Trolley-ing all day with some friends for St. Patty’s celebrations!
-Hanging out with the family/family friends at night because everyone came in town for the festivities!
Julia @ Drops of Jules
Those homemade ice cream sandwiches- YES girl. You know how to do it right.
3 things on the agenda for me today:
Lots and lots of reading (life of an english major)
visiting an art exhibit with my boyfriend’s family
celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday with dinner and a show. I’m excited because we’re going to a barbecue joint. That’s a kind of food I rarely get. Can’t wait!
Happy Saturday, Janae!
Kristin
Thing 1: we went to the gym!! After a 7 year hiatus! I found out the gym has a kidfit class for $3 for kids 6 and up and then I can workout!! And the icing… she LOVED it! We will be back! Ok so I did 3 miles on the treadmill, which yes, I could’ve done at home, but still made me happy to go!
Thing 2: laundry (borrrrringgggg)
Thing 3: a reverse raffle at my daughter’s school tonight. Date night! I’m excited. We are sitting with some great parents and I’m really looking forward to it!
The Hungry Runner Girl
WIN-WIN-WIN!! I am so glad that the gym setup is so perfect for you and your little girl! Hopefully the laundry went by quickly and enjoy date night!
Nina
Spin class, breakfast out with the husband and errands. 2 out of 3 accomplished. There was a fire at the Y at the end of spin class and we had to evacuate. Happily my coat was on the rack instead of in a locker so I didn’t have to stand outside in 16 degree weather without it.
The Hungry Runner Girl
Oh that is crazy!!! I am so so glad you were okay and that you had that coat!!!! Enjoy your night Nina!
Kathy McElhaney
12 mile long run. Done.
Acai bowl + coffee = post-run meal. Done.
Post run endorphin high. Still feeling it!
Have a great weekend, Janae!
The Hungry Runner Girl
So glad you had an amazing 12 miler… acai bowl and endorphins = heaven to me too!
Hayley
– Laying down
– Watching TV
– Trying to forget I can’t run Boston :(
… found out I have a femoral neck stress reaction on Wednesday, so a whole lot of nothing and no Boston for me #sadface
Kelly
oh my heart is sad for you Hayley! Rest that body!!!
The Hungry Runner Girl
HAYLEY!!!! Oh my goodness, this breaks my heart. I am seriously so beyond sorry and I understand your pain and sadness so well. This is exactly what happened to me and I was heart broken. During this time I let myself feel sad and cry a lot and then I chose a new race to do once I was all healed (I did NYC), focused on other passions and worked on my nutrition and strength training. Please email me if you ever want anyone to talk to. I am so sorry. xoxox
Kelly
Basketball camp for kiddo, running 90min during said camp, shooting hoops with kiddo and having coffee to stay warm and sane.
ps-ice cream sandwiches…..winning.
Krista @ Gringita
Looks like an awesome day! So nice to see Bangs friend doing well!! Also man I want sushi now. I’m helping the kids at the NGO put on their event tonight where they’ll be showing off their dancing, singing, and theater skills and its gunna be so cute!!
Anne Levy
I have been drooling over all your pictures of Cafe Rio. I looked up their locations and actually found one in Billings Montana! That is 2 hours away but its where we go for major shopping, or go to the airport, etc. I am so excited to try it out!
Three things: I worked early this morning, then fed my neighbor’s horses while she is out of town, and then (unless I can find a reason to delay, work on my taxes.
Have fun in California
The Hungry Runner Girl
AHHH ANNE!!! I am so stoked that you are going to be able to try out Cafe Rio soon! Sounds like a great day:) THANKS!
Mel _OutRunCf
California looks amazing… Especially since weather is still in the minus 20s for me this weekend! Hope you guys have a great trip!
Christina @ montessoriishmom.com
3 things: Brunching, wedding dress shopping for my sister (!!!), sitting in the car waiting for my little one to wake up :). It’s a great day!
Stephanie
Hi Janae! Love your blog and your family so much!! I just came across this article and wanted to share it with you. I know you always talk about being safe on your runs and all but have you ever considered taking a self defense class just in case? I hope you are enjoying California! I’m actually from Los Angeles so welcome to California!
http://abcnews.go.com/US/female-jogger-seattle-defense-tactics-fend-off-brutal/story?id=46034147
The Hungry Runner Girl
Hey Stephanie, thank you so much for your comment and for letting me know about this article. So glad Kelly was okay! So I took an entire self-defense course in college that lasted a few months (it was like a PE class that we did and you practiced each move over and over again). BUT I really need to look for something to get refreshed! Thank you for the reminder, such an important thing to do! I hope you are having a fabulous weekend!
Lee
Three things: my taxes, mother in law’s taxes, and sister’s taxes…….as well as several random people’s taxes.
Enjoy CA!
Dottie @crazyfitmommy
Cuddling sick kiddos, writing, and sweating (gross I know, but we live in AZ and it’s already 90 today!)
