Brookies, lunchfast and a run to a new lake.

It was a good morning.  I got to talk to my sister for a while on the phone which is the best way to start the day.  I think she is mad at me because after a while of talking I told her I had to go so I could get out and run before it to got too hot outside (she lives in Utah and said it is the worst winter they have had in a long time).

I did the first 4 miles on the treadmill and when Brooke woke up I did 8 with her on the bike path to a new lake that we had never ran to before.

I am sure glad I got the orange construction thingee in the picture and just the corner or Brooke’s head.  Talent.

PRO Compression sent us some awesome new compression socks/sleeves and I can’t wait to do a review (and giveaway) for you on the blog.  Brooke even has a few things to say about her pink pair.

I decided that today would be the best day of all to have lunchfast because I was too hungry to make anything else, I am hooked on my new yogurts and the box of Life has been calling my name for days.  Breakfast foods are in fact the best.  You cannot disagree with me on that one.  Bowl one of three… that stuff is addicting.  I had the last of the Green Monster Naked juice… guess I am forced to go to Costco again.

Sarah from Germany made my day today when she told me about BROOKIES!!!

Screen Shot 2013 01 31 at 10 05 28 AM

A Brookie is a brownie + cookie and the name sounds just like my daughters name.  I knew there was a reason I named her Brooke and be prepared to read Brookie in every post from here on out because that is her new nickname.

This could not be any more perfect.

To celebrate I will make Brookies for dinner.

————————————————————————————-

Do you use compression socks?  What kind?  Colors?

Brookie:  would you rather have a cookie or a brownie right this second?

Are you a milk drinker?  Do you just like it in cereal?  What percent do you usually buy?

If you have a sister… how often do you get to talk to her?

I have made brookies several times over the past few years. AMAZING! Perfect choice. I mainly drink chocolate milk… and yes add it to cereal! So I’m just thinking… 3 weeks from today I will be seeing you in Utah :-) Words can’t express how much I am looking forward to it. I might have to bring you a little taste of Texas to convince you to come hang out with me here soon ;-)

Reply

YES!!!! In 3 weeks we get to be the best of friends together! I seriously can’t wait and I need to try the chocolate milk in cereal thing!

Reply

Ahhhhhh sisters.
Freaking love them—almost as much as Brooke’s sweet socks.
3 of them. They rock.

Reply

OMG I obviously need to try Brookie’s!!! :)

Reply

YES YOU DO BROOKE!

Reply

Brookies, yum!! Why haven’t I thought of that before? I’ve always loved the name Brooke but you can add +1 to that list of reasons now.

As for milk, I always drink whole milk. I’d rather have less and drink full-fat than a bunch of thin milk. If I put skim on my cereal I’m hungry again in 5 minutes.

Reply

Love love LOVE compression socks. As we speak I am wearing a hot pink pair in Panera Bread (totally normal.)
I used to always drink non-fat milk growing up but now I am addicted to unsweetened vanilla almond milk! If you haven’t, definitely try out the Almond Breeze kind, makes cereal even more delicious :)

Reply

I also love almond milk! As a RD, I often suggest trying So Delicious Almond Milk Plus Protein – 5g protein per serving compared with only 1g in other brands – for anyone who wants a little extra protein in their day! Yum!

Reply

aww glad you got to talk to your sis!
That pro socks pic is waaaay too cute!

I’ve started wearing pro compression socks because of YOU bloggers out there..and, it is Amaaaazing. I got hooked and have ordered them what seems like on a weekly basis now!

Reply

The Brookie thing is SO cute! I love it!!

I use ProCompression compression socks for long runs and races. I have the black and the hot pink ones! I really like them.

Cookie or brownie is a nearly impossible decision for me to make, but I would have to say brownie just because I haven’t had one in a while.

I’ll only drink milk if it’s chocolate milk. Whenever I eat cereal I never drink the left over milk. I usually just try to pour as little as possible so the cereal is wet and then just rinse the bowl after. We usually buy 2%

I’m an only child! But I wish I had a sister.

Reply

That reminds me of the brookies my friend used to make!! She did them a little bit differently – she would bake the cookies and brownies separately, sandwich a slice of brownie between two cookies, and hold the whole thing together with marshmallow creme!! So yummy! :)

Reply

loooooove brookies! we almost opted to have them at our wedding even…but decided on just plain brownies instead (stupid budget). right now i’d love to eat a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie with my real fancy lactaid milk, since i’m lactose intolerant….sexy i know. i have a sister that lives in flagstaff, az and i’m in portland, or and we probably talk once a week! happy to hear about your pretty run…i’m about to try a quick run in the rain.

Reply

I have two pairs of compression sleeves. Mostly I wear them at night if my shins are bothering me.

Cookie trumps brownie any day. But I have been told I’m weird.

I have no sisters, and for that I am thankful – growing up with a brother was hard enough!

I do drink milk – we buy 2% but back when I was super duper skinny and didn’t know any better, I drank whole. Am I allowed to say that 2% milk made me fat? Actually, I doubt I could stomach whole milk now. Blargh.

Aren’t you glad you asked? =)

Is that lake in Morgan Hill? I run such a great trail there-goes all the way to San Jose. It’s my happy running place for distance runs.

Reply

HEY!! It is on the Los Gatos trail…. I am not sure if it is in Morgan Hill or not! I need to learn the area better ha:)

Reply

Therese where is the running trail in MH? Love running new places. Thanks.

Reply

You can google Coyote Creek Bike Trail. I start at the start off of the Cochrane exit on 101-heading east. It goes for 18 miles. I’ve only ever gone 6 -and then turned around. It’s clean, the bathrooms at the start are so clean, the riders, runners, walkers are friendly and courteous and the scenery changes. Love it.

Reply

Thank you thank you thank you! Can’t wait to try that run out!

Reply

Thank you so much. Will definitely check it out!

Reply

Of course you can start anywhere on the trail-it goes to San Jose. Training for the San Luis Obispo half so I’ll be hitting that trail weekends in a few weeks.

Reply

I have tons of compression socks in a wide variety of colors. I love running in them when it’s cold out and using them for recovery when it’s warm. I totally believe they help!

I would take a gluten free brownie right now! Yum!

Reply

I like how u say 12 miles is taking it easy. That is like a marathon run for me lol. I just signed up for the lululemon half in Vancouver this summer and headed out in -24 weather today to run ohh 3 miles not good. Wish I could love running but just not happening. The gym cycling crossfit yes love it. Running is like torture for me. Brookies look to good!!! Love the pro compression socks need a pair of those!!

Reply

HAHAH I meant easy PACE not easy distance:) WAHOOO I am stoked that you are going to run the lulu half. You will have to let me know how it goes and send a picture too. What is cycling crossfit… is it a combination of the two classes in one class?

Reply

PS -24 degrees, I wouldn’t leave the house if it was that cold. You are INCREDIBLE for getting out there and running!

Reply

I LOVE my CEP compression sleeves. I like them even better than the socks because I can wear them whem I’m sleeping (I’m completely incapable of sleeping with socks on).

I drink milk with meals and in ceral, (1%) but I don’t usually drink it when I’m thirsty.

I gmail chat with my sister basically all day long every day.

Reply

Brookies! Hehehe, but if I HAD to choose, I would go with a cookie (with lots of nuts and fun things in it).
Yay, can’t wait for the giveaway :)

Reply

That lake looks like a beautiful spot for a run.

Reply

I have made brookie’s several times (there is actually a box mix for such a thing. I think they are called Betty Crocker Ultimates and they are delicious). So I choose that instead of having to pick cookie or brownie. They relaly are the best of both worlds.

Look at you friggin running 12 miles, on a week day, just after you PLACED in a TRAIL half marathon! How in the world are you so awesome?

I have a pair of pro compression socks and I LOVE them. I bought them when I was training for the full marathon. I only wore them on my really long runs or if my shins were acting up, but I wear them for recovery all the time.

I drink almond milk. I love Life cereal (cinnamon flavor only) but I prefer it out of the box, rather than with milk. It gets too soggy too quick for me. I buy 2% for the Evan and Ross. Anna doesn’t really like it…yet we still go through 2 gallons of it a week.

Yay for sisters and good talks! I talk to my sisters at least 5 days a week. They are the best. And your sister is right – worst. winter. ever. Today the sun came out though and it has been good. I think today will be the first day the whole month that Anna will get to have recess because the temp is actually above freezing!

Reply

I have had/made brownies+ cookies before but never knew they were called Brookies. I like that. We drink skim, and tons of it. My husband and I go through a gallon about over 4-6 days. I’d drink about a gallon in one sitting if I had some Brookies to go with it!

Reply

1. Yes. PROcompression sleeves. Pink. :) I think they’re too short. Like, the distance from the top to the bottom (my knee to ankle) is too short. You agree?

2. Brownie. Always a brownie.

3. Nah. Don’t even like cold cereal. I buy 2% lactose-free for my kiddos.

4. YES. :) I love her like the dickens and we talk 4.5-8 times each week. And we text 841 times per week. And our hubbies are BFFs, which is the cutest thing EVER.

Reply

I talk to my sister about every other day. Not often enough! That new banana flavor is my favorite :)

Reply

That is so awesome Natalie. Seriously, the banana was incredible!

Reply

brand new reader over here…
oh man 12 miles is easy!? try not to compare myself to you but thats crazy, makes me feel lame.. hard to get much done with my energetic gorgeous 3yr old…

really need to get some of those socks, might help me run better??
lactose intolerant here :(

Reply

HEY! Thanks for commenting! DO NOT COMPARE YOURSELF!!! We are all runners.
Is your 3 year old a girl or a boy?!?! It will be very interesting to see if I get any running done when Brooke is mobile:) Maybe I will just wear my garmin to chase her around the house.

Reply

funny you asked… i have a baby girl Alexandra…
I love running, I run all through my pregnancy till the day i was due.. after that i managed to get back lil by lil, thankfully we lived in apartments with gym that helped.. but was hard cuz i just wanted to be around her.. once i got green light from pediatrician i got a jogging stroller and got outside with her… but as soon as she started walking she wouldnt stay in the stroller, shes way too active and loves walking with me.. now i ran whenever I can but do walk daily with her..
We got a home and now got a treadmill but hard to find the time to get it done when the hubby is not around…
Love your blog and Omg! Brooke is absolutely stunning!

Reply

THAT IS AWESOME that you ran throughout your entire pregnancy… way to go girl! I am glad that you got a treadmill and I hope that helps a little bit to get your run in but I love the idea of your daily walk together! Thanks so much Yanet and keep in touch!

Reply

I normally buy 1%, but if I am drinking milk or eating cereal I have to use lmond milk because I have a lactose problem, which really stinks because I LOVE cheese, ice cream, etc. Sometimes the stomach cramps are worth it ;)

I have FOUR sisters and two sister-in-laws, and I talk to them very often! Plus my boyfriend has two sister-in-laws that I am very close with! Lots of fun times and lots of clothes borrowing :)

Reply

FOUR SISTERS and TWO SILS… I am extremely jealous. That is awesome that you are also so close to your bf SILS!

Milk only in cereal, oatmeal and coffee….unsweetened vanilla almond milk! Brookies look awesome and right this second a brownie sounds best! I have never tried compression socks…maybe I don’t know what I’m missing…

Reply

Brookies look amazing…I need to make some of those!

Reply

Aww Brookies beat my better than crack brownies! Too perfect! I drink Skim Milk because I don’t like the creaminess of any other milk… I know, I know, but it’s ALL I had growing up and now it freaks me out!

Right now I want a cookie… with milk. Thanks, Janae!

Reply

I just made brookies!:) I would always go for a brownie though;) And I don’t drink milk, never have. I just don’t like the flavor. My kids obviously love chocolate milk, I make it with ovaltine – that is pretty tasty.
I wear pro compression socks – I have quite a few pairs – wore the pink ones with my bright green pure connects for my last marathon – loved it. I have two younger sisters, and talk to them pretty frequently. My youngest sister had a baby right before you had Brooke, and she is pregnant again! My two girls are 13 months apart, and I love it, but seeing someone else have them so close seems crazy:)
Have a great night!

Reply

I love compression gear! I have black compression sleeves, purple compression sleeves and pink compression socks. I LOVE the socks, wish I had more!

One sister I talk to every day! Sisters are the best friends :).

I really want a brownie right now!!!..gahhh…I’ll take both a cookie and a brownie though. That works too ;)
I love milk! cereal! yummm. I buy 1%
side comment: i think im getting shin splints! noooo!!!! :(((((

Reply

NOOOOOO!! Andra… make sure that you ice your shins! Run on soft services like grass or trail and do you need new shoes?

Reply

I started last night when I realized :(…Must keep up with that.
I dont think I need knew shoes…I havent had mine for that long.. I think the problem may be from cardio-kb actually (i wear different shoes for that..hopefully if i put my orthodics in them it should help).
:/
and…wait i havent run on soft surfaces for a while. :/ that too.

Reply

That could be the problem… please keep me updated on how you are doing!

Reply

Do you like the banana chobani? I haven’t tried it yet! I also want to try compression socks. My sister is my very best friend and we live 3 hours a part and it seems too far!

Reply

I DO but the raspberry and chocolate one is my favorite. Love hearing about other people being bfs with their sis too!

Reply

Brookies are SO good! Excellent choice for dinner.

I have fallen in love with compression sleeves. I wish that they weren’t so expensive, because mine are ALWAYS dirty! Maybe I should win a pair (wink, wink).

Reply

I’ve never tried compression socks but I keep seeing you post about them so I need to check them out! I would rather have a Brownie right now! I definitely drink milk, but not a cereal fan. I prefer skim.

Reply

I’m sitting here in Starbucks sipping on a cappuccino and I’m thinking that both a cookie AND brownie would kind of rock my socks off right about now… If you make brookies for dinner, can I come over? :D I’m actually not a milk drinker, and I usually have my cereal with yogurt, but whenever I do drink it, it’s 2% all the way.

Reply

Ummm how can you give me that ultimatum? I NEED both. Need. But the cookie part makes it. The brownie adds to the deliciousness. I also have pink compression sleeves so I can match Brooke but my bright purple ones are my favorite. Love themmmmm

Reply

I have one sister that lives in Kansas City and we talk at least every other day. We need to get our running fix you know.
I’ve recently started wearing compression socks/sleeves and love them! I have Pro Compression and CEP. I love them!!! Prefer pink all the way but do have some black, white, red and”visi” sleeves since I run so early.
Not a milk drinker at all but I always have skim on hand for my husband. The only time I have milk is in baked goods. I eat my cereal dry. =))

Reply

I have a sister that lives in Kansas City too :D We chat online mostly and are virtual running partners ;)

Reply

I HATE milk but I need it to moisten my cereal – I do love cereal! So I eat it with a fork to drain the excess milk!

Reply

SO JEALOUS OF ALL THOSE COMPRESSION SOCKS.

I have one pair of compression sleeves for my shins and it stinks (literally) going many runs without washing, but they’re too expensive to buy a zillion pairs!

Reply

Mmm.. brookies sound delicious. If I had to pick one or the other right now, I’d pick a brownie. I actually don’t like milk at all. If I’m having cereal, I’ll use a little, but for every bite, I’ll kind of drain the milk out of the spoon before I put it in my mouth. Weird, I know!

Reply

So I just wanted to say…that my sister’s name is Brooke =) She is my best friend in the world, and it just makes me happy that Brooke is your daughter’s name =) My dad called her Brooker growing up, and we called her Brookie/Brooksie. And sometimes we called her Bubblin’ Brooksie – because she has such a fun bubbly personality – kind of like I think you are except I don’t know you in real life. But let’s pretend, mmkay? =) Anyways, for some reason hearing your fun and loving use of the nicknames always makes me smile =) Also – you’re killing me with the compression socks picture. Too.freaking.cute.

Reply

Brownie please, now! I don’t drink milk much usually just cereal. I used to buy non-fat but my husband switched me to 2%. I have some black compression sleeves, forget what kind but I LOVED them after my 50 miles at Nanny Goat last year. They feel so good. Planning on using them in the hospital after my c-section too – multi purpose. My sister lives about 15 minutes away and we talk all the time. Actually feels weird cause I haven’t talked to her today.

Reply

I have never tried compression socks because tight things like that freak me out–although my calves may like it more than I know! Someday I may have to try it!

Have never tried Brookies but MUST! Tomorrow I begin preparing for our super bowl party which doesn’t begin til after midnight because we are in Europe and it doesn’t air til 12:30 AM! Some friends from the UK, the US, and Australia, plus us Canadians are all getting together for an all nighter:)

Milk in cereal & with cookies only…never drink it! and usually 1%….

I have one sibling, a sister, who is 6 years younger & 6 inches taller (and has a one year old named Brooklyn!). We talk every single day even though she is in California & I’m in Europe! 9 hour time difference can’t keep us apart! I surprised her and flew out when she had Boo last year….was awesome! Aren’t you glad I shared all that?!

Reply

I have ProCompression pink socks and purple sleeves.

Brownie!

I don’t drink cow’s milk. Almond milk for me!

Reply

Ohhh love how you put those on Brooke! Adorable as always :)

Reply

Ok let start by saying I’ve been a bad blog friend and have not commented in such a LONG time…and it’s not because I don’t love you because I really do!! Love love love love (I can say love a few hundred times!!) love you and your blog and your little family and OMG how absolutely freakin adorable is Brooke!! My heart just melts everytime i see her ( is that weird..like baby blog stalker

Reply

I am far too old and not really a runner (yet) but I’m going to post here anyway! We don’t drink much milk because mostly we think cow’s milk is for baby cows. That said, I buy non-fat (the blue milk, some call it) for the little bit that gets used with cereal. Nobody here will drink a glass of milk. We do like Chobani yogurt! I want to be a runner because I eat too many sour patch kids, cheezits and skittles and notice that my pants are getting tight. Your mileage is high enough to maintain that cute figure. Age and gravity are working against me. Can’t remember anymore what the questions are?

I have a twin sister and two younger sisters. We don’t talk on the phone a lot but we do text regularly. We are all in different time zones and have different schedules so it makes longer phone seshes a little more difficult.

Reply

I usually just have milk in coffee but sometimes I pound it straight from the gallon. I buy 2% because my fiance likes whole and I like 1% so we compromise. I almost never buy cereal because I could definitely eat an entire box in about 20 minutes so I just keep it out of the house entirely.

Reply

Brooke is adorable with her little pink compresions sleeves! Too cute! I have a couple pairs of the Pro Compression socks and a pair of CEP socks. I love that Pro Compression puts out lots (relatively) of new colors and has frequent sales.

Reply

I just found a “Brookies” recipe and pinned it on Pinterest. Thank you for telling us about it!

Reply

We live in Utah and my husband works on a dairy, so whole milk all the way! My 4 kids die when we go stay with someone and drink “milk from the store” ;) I’m not a big milk drinker so it tops my cereal, oatmeal and makes the best recovery shake/smoothie.

CEP are the compression socks that are in my drawer, so far they work great. My sister, who is my virtual running partner, that lives in Kansas City loves them too. We were “blessed” with lovely varicose veins at a super early age and so they are a must for us. (she started getting them in jr track!?!)

CoOkiE or BrOWnie?!?!? BOTH

just started following your blog and you inspired me to buy a jogging stroller (or buggy as we call them here in Ireland) I have never worn compression socks not reallly sure what they are for! I have no sisters….3 brothers, but I have 3 daughters so delighted that they will have that bond with each other that I never had. Started running last year after no 3 was born and love it, hoping to do my first full marathon this year have done a half and a good few 10kms. Loving my new buggy although my distances are not a patch on yours did 4.5 miles last 2 mornings and itsa different experience, but am super excited to get out in the mornings now rather than having to wait till hubbie home from work. Its very hilly where I live how do you manage the buggy with hills?

Reply

That makes me so so happy! You are doing amazing! It really is a whole new experience with the stroller and a killer workout! It is not very hilly where we are but I am sure if it was I would be walking the stroller up ha! Good luck and keep me updated!

Reply

Right this second I’d prefer a cookie, with chocolate chips. That makes me want to bake!!
That picture of Brooke wearing compression socks…too cute!

Reply

I do buy milk, and it’s whole milk, but it’s mostly for my daughter. I usually don’t even like milk in my cereal! haha. I just started to drink Silk Almond Milk. It’s not too shabby.

I have a twin sister and we talk every couple of days:-)

I try to remember to put compression socks on after my long run but I’m as good at that as I am stretching after. haha.

Brookies look amazing.

Reply

Oh no…my whole post didn’t come out!! :((. Aarrgghhh.
Here’s the short version..yes talk to sis everyday..I live in FL – she lives in NY
Love compression socks..want to wear them everyday!
1% milk for my girls / skim for me / just got almond milk…it’s ok

Reply

That is hilarious and so darn cute with you both wearing compression sleeves! I have 1 pair of compression sleeves that are black. I love them! I have 2 sisters and talk to them enough-lol! Right this second I would kill for a cookie. Just got in from a 3 miler and it was FREEZING. I’m drinking a hot chocolate and was just thinking a cookie would go great with it. I only drink milk (1%)with straight from the oven brownies or choc chip cookies. Other than that in cereal only (of which I can never just eat one bowl either!).

Reply

Since I am short, I have a hard time getting running tights to fit correctly, so I’m running in capris and compression socks. I don’t have the super cool athletic ones, though. I use the Jobst medical professional, on-my-feet-all-day-at-the-hospital ones that I bought during my clinical rotations. They are great– but boring black. I do drink milk (it is the only calorie-d beverage I drink) and always get “semi-skimmed”, which is a Brit thing and I think is 1.5% or so. It’s delicious!! And, since i’ve lived in the Middle East for 2 years and now England, and my best friend (and younger sister) lives in Orem, I only talk to her about 5 times a year on the phone, but FB every day.

Reply

OMG Brookies? What a genius idea!

I do use compression stockings and I love them! They’re hot pink, like Brookies.

99.99% of the time I want cookies- they’re my favorite food, but right now a brownie sounds fantastic.

I’m an almond milk drinker- I usually buy unsweetened vanilla. I LOVE cereal and that’s why I don’t buy it- I can binge way too easily on that goodness.

Two sisters- I talk to one of them almost daily and the other just on occasion.

Reply

I have pink sleeves, pink socks, pink argyle socks, blue argyle socks….I think that is it.
I don’t do much milk but when I do use it, it is in cereal and it is 2%.
Brownie. Definitely.
I talk or email with my sister every day.

Is there a special recipe for the Brookies?! Or is it just cookie dough on top of brownie batter?!

I haven’t found a special one yet but as soon as I do I will make it and post it on the blog!

Betty Crocker sells a mix called “supreme bars” in the grocery store. They are pretty good.

Brownie! I thought Brookies was Brooke’s new nickname as soon as I saw the title.. love that they’re a treat AND a nickname for your lil sweet thang. I just ate a cookie..so I could go for a brownie now ;) I don’t wear compression socks, but I’m still relatively new to the running world (running for two years, first race next month), so I have a lot to learn! And no, I’m not a milk drinker..unless that milk is ice cream, yogurt, or cheese.. I eat cereal dry and usually as a snack.

I do have a sister, and I talk to her EVERY DAY! Well at least through text. FaceTime and Skype comes a few times a month.

Yey, love seeing your sister on the blog again!

Compression socks are my treat after a long run, I putting them on and promptly collapse on the floor for the next half hour :)

I have an older brother. We are four years apart. I couldn’t imagine my life without. He is a big reason of why I am who I am today.

I wish I could try those compression sleeves and socks. I only have a single pair of compression socks and they are the long ones. I also have a pair of compression shorts that I won on a blog. I’ll have to remember from who’s in a minute.

Those brookies look amazing. I’ve made something similar before but those just look to die for.

Can you please review that yogurt? I love bananas but I hate banana flavoring. Does it have chunks of banana in it? I’m so curious about this!

Reply

I’ve never used compression socks for running?! Do you wear them for all runs or long runs only?

Reply

I have an older sister who had a baby 4 days after I had my little guy in October. We live 10 hours apart, but talk every other day. She’s just the best!

Reply

Those brookies sound SO GOOD (and what a perfect name).

I always go for cookies, hands down, but they have to be the soft texture like brownies.

I have one sister. It’s so funny, when we were little we DESPISED each other, but now that we’re older, she’s the one I always go to for anything and everything. I’m trying to convince her to move to the same city as me so we can hang out all the time.

Reply

Ahhh, I love compression socks. I only have a pair from running skirts that have little pink hearts on them. I’m too poor to buy pro compression ones. We do live in CA, ya know? :-)

My husband is obsessed with Life cereal. He goes through at least two boxes a week. It’s ridiculous!

Okay, Brookies = the best thing ever! A brownie and a cookie in one. Could there be anything better? :)

Yay you finally got Brooke her compression socks! I have never used compression socks but have desperately been looking to buy some. I’ve been trying to read old post you (and anyone else on the internet…) have written about brand reviews and any suggestions for the injury prone. I’m super curious about the best ones to use while running, and the differences between sleeves and socks. I can’t wait to read your new review!
I have 5 sisters who i love and miss so much, and sometimes talk to a lot and sometimes go way too long without talking to. I try and facilitate group emails so it’s like we’re all having a conversation together, but it’s so not the same. Looooove my Zensahs. I have a pair in L or XL, which I wear for recovery – because at least they cover the whole length of my calf. I have a red pair that I wear to run, when I don’t care if I look a bit silly – because I have the same problem that you do in your photo: About 3 inches of ankle below the sleeve. For some reason, this drives me bananas. Why can’t they make them a smidge longer (with same tightness) to cover my WHOLE calf?!?!

BROWNIE. I eat milk in cereal, and lots in my coffee, and some with chocolate. This equals about 1-1.5 gallons/week (I eat a lot of cereal). My husband thinks we should just buy a cow.

I really like skim, but we can’t get that here (only 2% or whole), so I just add lots of ice cubes. [Don’t judge.]

I’m so excited for you to try the Pro Compression socks. :) Love them!!!!

Those Brookies sound amazing…your getting the best of both worlds! I need to whip those up but make them gluten free!!!
I’ve never tried compression socks. I’m really dying to try them!!!!! Being a huge runner and have done 4 1/2 marathons I think its time I get my act together!!! I need to win a pair:-)
As for milk…almond milk all the way. My husband drinks 1% which causes a problem…2 different kinds of milk that neither one of us can ever finish!!!!

I love compression! Pro Compression is the best.

I used to drink milk like crazy as a kid, but now I just have it in cereal or when we have something really chocolatey for dessert. We buy skim.

I have an older sister who lives in San Fran. We probably talk, email, text, a couple times a month.

Brookies are so. dang. good. My roommate’s mom used to send her back a big container of brookies when she went home for the weekend and we’d demolish all of them within 2 days. I have no control around so much chocolate :)

I think I’d take a chocolate chip cookie. Best of both worlds…

I got the same purple compression socks for Christmas! I just wore them yesterday after my run and I swear they made my legs feel so much better.

sisters are the best!

I’ve never used compression socks….hmmmm maybe I should whne I start running again!

I love my ProCompression socks…I have pink (like Brooke’s!) and I ordered purple a few days ago. They have been a lifesaver since I sprained my ankle because they keep the swelling down.
I love milk, skim for me please! It would be nice to have some Brookies to eat eith my milk :)

Those look so good! I think it’s Betty Crocker that makes a boxed version where it includes everything to make both the cookies and the brownies and you just add eggs, etc. and bake them… easy and yummy!! My younger cousin’s name is Brooke and I always call her Brookie, so I love that nickname. :)

I just started wearing compression socks, but I love them!

I had Cinnamon Life cereal for breakfast this morning! Best cereal everrrrr!

I wish I lived in Cali right now…well actually all the time…but especially right now because it was about 70 degrees here in Charlotte, NC on Tuesday and Wednesday and now it’s about 36 degrees out. NOT FUN! I don’t usually mind colder weather, but once Christmas is over I’m honestly ready for Spring!

Have a great weekend girl!

My compression socks are purple – is there a better color?

Milk Whole – young growing children. (hard on the tummy when I add it to mashed potatoes…or are the potatoes to blame for that problem?)

Right now – there is no way I could decide between a brownie / cookie. Which has to be the reason someone created those! MUST RESIST trying them!

We call my daughter Brookie, too :) My 2 yr old son will only her her that. We make Brookies as part of our Christmas cookie collection, and she thinks it is the best thing ever. We also include them in her birthday goodie bags for friends, so she can tell them they are called Brookies just like her.

Who needs brownies- bring on the cookies please!
I love milk– we buy ours from a dairy and get it straight out of the bulk tank- yes- the cream does rise to the top. When you want a glass you just shake the pitcher to mix in the cream and enjoy!! Nothing wrong with full fat, right??

I cannot wait to see your review on the PROs – I am wanting to try some sleeves and need some opinons!!!

I have the pink Pro Compression socks! Love them. I wish running 12 miles was a regular thing for me though. :)

I went to college with a girl named Brooke, and we called her Brookie all the time :)

compression socks: yes, two pairs of socks: tan argyle and blue argyle (ProCompression); one pair of calf sleeves: hot pink (no clue what brand)!

I have a younger sister, we have pretty sporadic communication phone, text and pinterest! She canceled all other forms of social media… rude :)

I have a dairy intolerance so I am incredibly grateful for the vegan movement… almond milk, fake butter… etc.!
