Had a great afternoon with my Dadio at the Food and Care Coalition serving food together (we always had daddy-daughter dates when I was young and my favorite ones were when we would walk to the movie theater to see a movie).
Two going on seventeen—> she told me as she was putting on lip gloss that she thinks she should be allowed to sit in the front seat because it is almost her birthday…. ummm no.
She is better than I am with chopsticks.
Split the salmon salad, sushi and chicken noodles with the peeps—> I like people that like to share entrees.
Since we were in a splitting mood we split some froyo too.
For today’s cold treat I am going to be making this Dole Whip (one of the best treats at Disneyland)—> full recipe here.
Nikki looked amazing in her Hungry shirt while running the SF 1/2 marathon last weekend!
Amanda took her shirt to the Grand Tetons… I WANT TO GO!!!
My THANK YOU RUNNING moment over on Brooks.
It is race week which means two things:
1. Some extra carbs at 10 pm while watching Netflix.
2. Lots of foam rolling, water drinking, sleeping and stretching.
3 miles today, nada tomorrow and 13.1 on Saturday!
When at a restaurant do you like to share meals with the other people at your table or stick to your own?
Disneyland or Disneyworld… if you have been to both, which one do you like better? Favorite treat at Disney?
Anyone else run the SF 1/2 marathon last weekend? What did you think of the course?
Current favorite shows on Netflix?
Michele @ paleorunningmomma
Honestly I don’t like to share my food! And I usually know what I want, so I like one dish :) Love her creative use of chopsticks, my kids haven’t tried that one!
I’m addicted to Orange is the New Black!
I like Disney World the best.
I usually stick to my own dish, but I sister and I will sometimes split and share.
Netflix: Gilmore Girls all the way!!
Sarah @ SarahRuns26
I’m obsessed with Gilmore Girls right now too! So good!!
Sarah @ SarahRuns26
I’ve only been to DisneyWorld and I liked it alot. But I can’t pick one since I haven’t been to both. I guess that means it is vacation time? :) I do prefer California over Florida though!
I like to share meals. The more things I can try, the better!
Favorite shows on Netflix right now – Flashpoint and Gilmore Girls!
Gretchen | Gretchruns
Thank you SO much for the dole whip recipe! I’ve heard so much about it and have always wanted to try it. Thank goodness I have all the ingredients because I’m making it tonight :)
I’m all about sharing food! My fiance and I will usually choose two dishes together and then split then. So much better that way!
Kristina @ Blog About Running
I don’t like to share my meals at any restaurants, but I love when other people let me have a bit ;) I know that’s super annoying though so I resist asking … but if someone offers that makes my day, haha
I would love to run SF 1/2 someday. The course looks really pretty, but I think the hills would eat me alive considering I have 0 hills here to train on! That’s why I picked Chicago as my marathon this year…. nice, flat course!
Jackie @ The Freckled Runner
That salmon salad looks bomb! I loved seeing you pop up when Brooks posted that pic!
I usually stick to my own when eating at a restaurant but wouldn’t be opposed to sharing either!
OITNB! I have a few episodes left.
Love to share meals. That way I can eat everything without paying for it all :) I’ve been totally digging Daredevil on Netflix… it’s a bit dark, but the last four episodes (yes that’s what I did after work) were amazing!
If I’m going to a restaurant with Tim, we generally share dessert. Normally we get our meals though. I’m not the biggest fan of tapas honestly! The salmon salad looks incredible though!
Anne @ annetracks
Depends on what they ordered ;-)
Amanda @ Slimplify Life
I watched all 5 seasons of Parenthood in an embarrassingly short amount of time. And then bought the 6th because it wasn’t out yet. SO GOOD.
Meredith @ ImRunningWithErasers
I have never been a big food sharer, i keep my meal for myself except for giving away a few bites here and there! The show on watching on netflix right now is the office…I’ve seen them all but it never gets old!
Laura @ This Runner's Recipes
My husband and I will split our meals at a restaurant if we don’t order the same thing. Otherwise I get food envy!
I’ve only been to Disneyworld, but it beats Disneyland for me because of Epcot and all the food there.
I am terrible at sharing/splitting. I’m like an anxious fat kid, constantly worrying I won’t get my full half. I’m being serious.
I’m in a Netflix rut, help!! After finishing Parks n Rec (except NOT because there’s a 7th season that hasn’t hit Netflix yet!!?? < discovered that on a plane last weekend) I am at a loss… mostly because there are too many choices. I'm thinking about kicking it back old school with some Grey's Anatomy or Gilmore Girls.
Enjoy the taper Janae and can't wait to read your race recap, as always!
Jennifer @ JenChoosesJoy
I love to share meals so I can try more dishes!!
Disneyworld. Dole whip
Love OITNB on Netflix.
I’ve been to Disney World a bunch of times and Disneyland in Paris once, and I think nothing beats Disney World!
Just finished season 3 of Orange is the New Black, and thought it was the best one yet! The book the series is based on is also very good- I highly recommend!
When at a restaurant do you like to share meals with the other people at your table or stick to your own? It depends on who is doing the ordering. I have better taste than most so I hate to share someone’s poor pick :)
Disneyland or Disneyworld… if you have been to both, which one do you like better? Favorite treat at Disney? Disney World for SURE! It is way bigger. In fact, Magic Kingdom itself is way bigger than Disney Land and California Adventure combined. Some of the rides are duplicated, but then you also have Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios…so much fun!
Current favorite shows on Netflix? We mostly watch movies. Baxton’s favorites are Piglet’s Big Movie and Animals United.
Lisa @ Running Out Of Wine
I don’t really like to share meals because I worry that I wont get enough of what I like! I guess I’m a bit possessive about my food.
I’ve never been to Disneyland but I love Disney World!
I am also curious about San Fran…I would imagine it would be super hilly but I’ve heard good things about it! I am coaching a runner who is doing the Nike Women’s half there in October so we are definitely going to focus on getting her used too running hills!!
Hannah @ Will Run For Coffee
I hate sharing food! I guess I wouldn’t mind if there were endless amounts, but otherwise I worry I won’t get enough. Seriously I am so greedy.
Hannah @ Will Run For Coffee
I hate sharing food! I guess I wouldn’t mind if there were endless amounts, but otherwise I worry I won’t get enough. Seriously I am THAT greedy.
Favourite on Netflix is Community. LOVE.
I’m going to Disneyland on Sunday – Dole Whip is on the agenda!!
Katherine @ Sweet. Southern. Run.
Love Disney World! The Bread Pudding at the Polynesian hotel at Ohana is THE BOMB. Definitely my favorite treat there. I’m a big Dole Whip fan too though, I’ll have to try that recipe out!
Not big on Netflix, I just use the On Demand feature to catch up on my favorite shows that I missed. Currently loving Last Comic Standing.
Maddie @ Dixie Runs
I love how sassy Brooke is nowadays!! Just wait until she’s a few years older and the real sass will come out :) I love that you and your dad still have father daughter dates… Me and my dad run together so those are our dates!
Netflix: United States of Tara — completely addicted and only let myself watch it when I’m on the treadmill. Makes dreadmill time fly by! Highly recommend!
Food sharing? No. And I’ll break out self defense moves with my fork if you make a move towards my food. J/K….sort of… “Joey doesn’t share food!!!!”
The sharing all depends on the restaurant.
I haven’t ever been to Disney qorld but I want to go! I would love to go to Harry Potter land, that’s kind of embarrassing for a 27 year old to want to do so bad.
meredith @ Cookie ChRUNicle
I love the food at Disney World!! My favorites are the giant chocolate covered apples and the big chocolate chip cookies. We were last there in December and I hope we go back again this winter!
I’m not that brave with my food. I tend to stick to the same stuff over and over again so I like trying Andrew’s food because he always orders cool stuff that I would never normally order.
I would love to share, but… my husband usually ends up eating all of his and then half of mine, too. Boys eat SO MUCH.
Currently watching: Walking Dead. It’s terrifying!
Angie @ Pace With Grace
I must make that Dole Whip!
I usually share at small plate restaurants but my husband and I usually order our own meals but will try each others usually.
I’ve been only to Disneyworld as a kid and loved it!
OITNB has been my current Netflix fav.
ooo need to try the dole whip! i’ve done it w/ bananas + pb but love the almond milk idea.
You know that episode of Friend’s where Joey dates the girl that eats his food. And he just finally can’t take it anymore and says, “Joey doesn’t share food!!!!!” yea. That’s me=) But that yogurt looks AMAZING and I may just make it as I’m fighting a cold and sore throat. I want one of your shirts!!!!
Isn’t it an unwritten rule that each person MUST order a different entree so everyone try each other’s?
The Hungry Runner Girl
I like the rule book that you follow.
If you haven’t already watched parenthood on netflix… you need to…NOW!!!!
Morgan @ Morgan Manages Mommyhood
Omg Brooke is too funny. Also your face while foam rolling is just sooooo relatable
I can’t wait to hear how that Dole whip turns out!
I like sharing food but only if we plan it that way.
We’re loving Merlin on Netflix. Fun for me and for the 9 year old. She is also asking about the front seat. I’m gonna have to do a little research on local laws!
I always prefer my own salad to start. sometimes i’m okay with sharing the main portions :)
Netflix – The Wonder Years
I am all about sharing entrees. Variety is my favourite.
Denise @ An Academic Athlete
My husband and I almost always share entrees. It is cheaper and leaves room in your stomach for essentials like ice cream or froyo. :)
kristin | W [H] A T C H
daddy daughter dates are the absolute best.
I don’t mind sharing my entree if that’s what we’re really doing … sharing… not just you stealing half my french fries while you talk and think I don’t notice. I notice! I notice the lack of french fries on my plate. I feel the lack of french fries in my belly. Come on, man. At least buy some onion rings so we can share!
Sorry. Clearly, I’m not over this.
But seriously, if you can split entrees and get to try lots of different things, why not!
Sally @ sweat out the small stuff
I don’t like to share! Not even appetizers or dessert
I ran the SF half last year. (The first half) loved it but it was hilly!
Joanna @ Crazy Runner Girl
I am so addicted to Scandal, Olivia Pope is my spirit animal!
Annette @ Sweating Through Life
I’m weird about food, I don’t love sharing it. And I also don’t like certain foods to mix. Like corn and mashed potatoes together…no way! A little OCD. And Brooke and I eat the same way with chopsticks. That’s not the correct way?? :)
Megan @ Skinny Fitalicious
Disneyland! It’s so much more manageable. Disneyworld is too huge. I spent two weeks there a few years ago & by day two I was burnt out & still hadn’t seen everything. Plus I just love CA. :)
Erin @ Her Heartland Soul
That salad looks fabulous! I love seeing people in your t-shirts!
I love to share. 2 different meals at one sitting is the best!
I love Disneyland. My husband is from the east coast and insists Disney world is the best. We’re going to start small and take our 2yo to Disneyland first since it’s only 8hrs away next spring. We’ll do the grand daddy tour of Disney world when she’s a few years older and can appreciate it.
I did the SF 1/2 a couple years ago. The first half is the best b/c 1. you start at really early, 2. nothing beats running along Embarcadero and up and over the Golden Gate bridge in the fog.
Julia @ Lord Still Loves Me
I prefer Disneyland! But then again, I am a So-Cal girl so I may be biased. :)
“Joey doesn’t share food!” lol… couldn’t resist.
Nona @ RunningHigh
Disneyland always alway s!! That dole whip looks amazing! I’m going to have to make it!
-I don’t share food, LOL
-I am (im)patiently waiting for Bloodlines to return! :)
I usually love to share appetizers and entrees, more variety to try out!
I share fries with the hubby but that’s about it. I need to try that Dole Whip………….that is my favorite Disney treat. And I have never been to Disneyland but never really had the desire to. I have been to Disney World many many times…………from the time I was a baby until the 4 months I worked there. I love Disney! I miss the things that are not there anymore………….especially the Dreamfinder character and the small robotic Figment (not the new costume one) and the Journey into Imagination ride…………the original. I think I get my Disney love from my dad……………he used to be a DJ and got to travel there for radio shows and he acts like a kid at Disney!!
Tedi @ running with infertility
I’m still watching white collar on Netflix. I am on the last season. Hubby started watching Prison Break again for the second time. :)
Rachel @ Simply Rachel Nicole
I normally just like sticking to my own or even splitting my own meal. They always give you so much food ha! Right now I am watching Friday Night Lights and Once Upon A Time On Netflix and I love them both!
As I’m sure you’ve seen…but inspiration nonetheless!
The Hungry Runner Girl
Amber is incredible and her story is amazing. I hadn’t seen that particular article about her yet so thank you SO much for sharing it! Have a fabulous day Lauren!
Half Marathon James
I love going to Spanish tapas restaurants, where you can order so many different things, and then just each take a bit. It’s probably my favourite way to eat, as I can never decide what to order.. Enjoy your rest day, I’m taking one tomorrow too :)
I ran the first half in SF last Sunday. Very hilly but an amazing scenic course. I even got a PR which was shocking for a semi-hard course. Hill training pays off!
Do you still have any of those shirts available for sale??
