Patterns, mother of the year and relationship status.

Been rocking the Infiniti Capri IIIs to spin lately and I ran in them today too.  I am pretty picky about what type of patterned capris/workout pants that I will wear but I fell in love with this pattern right away.   These capris are made with a moisture-wicking compression fabric that stays put during your workout (there are even silicone grippers at the bottom of the capris so they don’t ride up).  I love the thick waistband and the stretch fabric just feels right.  Zero chaffing has occurred while in these capris which is always a good thing in my opinion.

IMG 8517

I also have the same pattern as the capris on the back of the Racerback IV and love it.  I am sorry the only picture I have of it is a sweaty one but hey…  It is real life and at least you now know what it will look like after 10 miles on a treadmill in a stuffy gym.

IMG 8090

I taught my spin class and came back to Brooke hiding behind the couch.  She can hear when the garage door opens (yep, still have a garage spot at my parents’ house… I must be the favorite) and she runs and hides in some pretty tricky to find spots;)

IMG 8526

I got my run on afterwards while Brooke played with her remote control car.  7 miles at an 8:20 pace…  gearing up for 10 marathon pace tempo miles tomorrow!  Also, it has been snowing here a little bit (IT’S APRIL) so I am not sure if those tempo miles will be inside or outside.  If you remember correctly, snow/ice while running = Janae falls and gets a concussion.

IMG 8533

How in the world could I ever turn my sister down when she calls to meet me for salads?  I am pretty sure the two of us could talk all day long together.

IMG 8549

Her little baby slept for most of lunch but when he woke up he was all smiles!

IMG 8555

And now I dug into Brooke’s Easter candy to snack on while I talk to you fine people.  Mother of the year.

IMG 8560

Jess sent this to me today because she knows about the deep connection that I have with donuts.  We are in a pretty serious relationship.  They are loyal, they always cheer me up and they are there for me when I need them.   If only I could get an apple fritter to wrap around my ring finger.

Do you sweat big time, medium or just a little bit when you work out?

Do you prefer running in pants, shorts or capris?  (Weather isn’t a factor for this question)

What did you have for lunch today?

I sweat big time. I’m always a little jealous of those that barely do and look fresh when they finish! That is definitely not me!

I prefer capris most of the year. No chafing to worry about!

Stir fry for lunch. It was tasty!

I had a spot in my parents garage for several years after I moved out! It was great! (I’m definitely the favorite too, they don’t need to tell me!)

Shorts and a tank (no sleeves) because I hate feeling confined when I run. I actually run slower with sleeves. Its science.

Lunch was a huge sweet potato and then an almond butter and honey sandwich. I love both so much I couldn’t decide so I chose not to :).

Have an awesome night, Janae!

If I am running outside, I sweat a lot.
Working out at the gym, I don’t sweat nearly as much… strange.
Love running in shorts!
Lunch = grilled cheese sandwich with my girls, sliced apples and cucumber :)

Your sister’s baby is so precious!
I’m a big time sweater, especially if I’m running inside and there’s no wind to cool me down. Shorts are my favorite to run in and I’ve been so happy that the weather is finally warm enough for them!
Lunch today: eggs, baked sweet potato, and red pepper slices. Yum!

Reply

I’m a GROSS sweater. It’s super attractive.

I was stuck at work for lunch, so I had an Amy’s organic pad thai meal, which was actually really yummy!

Reply

I don’t sweat much when I workout, unless it’s ridiculously hot and humid outside. I think I prefer running in shorts–just feels like you can really move! I had a pb&j on toast for lunch–apparently I had a flashback to age 10. :)

Hahahaha. That donut ring is the best thing I’ve seen in a while.

I am really picky of what kind of patterned or leggings in general I will wear honestly. Some are so cheaply made and see through.

Reply

Um…I beg to differ. Weather is always a factor. I prefer shorts I think…but the weather makes a huge difference because if I’m cold I’m miserable.

I had a baked potato with salsa because I was out of sweet potatoes.
I’m so sad.
I need to grocery today.
sigh.
But I need to run first.
I have a spot in my garage because I’m my husband’s favorite. ;)
Does that count?

I`m definitely a big sweater. During ashtanga yoga classes I`ve been known to have sweat drip off the end of my nose during forward bends.

For lunch I had vegan curry with brown rice. It was delicious!

Reply

I sweat so much that when I get off my treadmill, there are splashes of sweat all over the garage floor to the front, left, right and back of me. I sweat through my shirt to the point where I have to take it off and drape it over the handrail and even then, when I use it to mop up my face, there is not one single square inch of dryness anywhere. I’m gross and I LOVE IT.

Reply

if only that donut picture was an option on Facebook for my relationship status….

Reply

I run in pants until it’s not safe heat wise. I’m a thicker girl so it’s my community service. :) I’m not a big sweater normally. Lunch was veggies, cheese and egg whites. Delicious!

If all you’ve eaten is one thing from her basked then you really do get the Mother of the Year award. I’m going to have to re-visit the store before Sunday :)

Reply

I sweat probably a normal amount, but more in the afternoons because I have been drinking water all day. I love any type of workout shorts or capris, just as long as they fit well and stay on :) If my daughter was old enough to have Easter candy I totally would’ve dug into hers, but she isn’t so I just bought some for myself hehe ;)

Reply

I sweat a lot, but I think that also has to do with the gym temperature.

My relationship to pizza seems similar to your relationship with donuts.

Reply

I literally do not sweat. I think it is a problem, seriously.
Shame shame shame on you for the teaser title.

Reply

I am a major sweater, and it doesn’t matter what type of workout I am doing. My spin classmates seem to think that equates to me being super fast on the bike. I feel like such a fraud! The gig will soon be up – we are getting a leader board for spin class in a few weeks, and everyone will know the truth.
I usually run in capris but I just bought some shorts since I am planning on a lot more running as the weather warms up.
Lunch today was salad and some eggs on the side.

I figured you needed a guy’s opinion up here to shake it up.
1. I sweat a good amount, not drenched but drippy if it’s really hot and humid. I find when I’m in good shape I start to sweat more quickly – like my body anticipates the hard work and gets the cooling started.
2. Shorts. In the blistery winter, then full pants, but as a guy, I don’t understand capris. (I like the look, but don’t see how they can be comfortable – either your quads are too hot or your calves are too cold – how’s that work??)
3. Lunch – slice of pizza, bagel, banana, coffee. (Didn’t eat my apple – will have it this eve.
4 – As for your relationship status, you seem like a really nice person, a great mom, you’re fit, write well and you’re gorgeous. I can’t imagine that you don’t have a path beaten to your door. What’s the rush – enjoy yourself. Happy running – keep on shuffling.

Reply

I sweat a TON it is pretty bad, I do what I can, shorts and tanks only but that only gives me an additional 5 minutes before the drench sets in. I am envious of those who do not leave the gym looking like they got caught in a rain storm. There is never any “quick errands” for me. It is straight home to the shower.
Lunch today was a grapefruit and cabbage/salmon/mustard.
About ready for my afternoon Quest Bar! :)

Reply

I prefer my Brook’s shorts that have the little compression shorts in them (with the rubbery-sticky hem to keep them on my legs). I’ve purchased two pair (both on clearance) and if I could wear them at every run I would!
Donuts are the BEST. :)

Reply

That salad again??? Word. You’re no fool.

I am a sweaty, stinky, disgusting mess.

Capris for life. I am way too self conscious in shorts. I decided to finally get over it and wear my shorts to the gym the other week and everyone legitimately mocked my legs when I walked in the door. Good times.

My lunch was a smorgasbord of random food from my fridge and pantry. It was a lot. And it wasn’t pretty. Story of my life.

Reply

Such a sweet baby! Lunch was black beans, quinoa, green onions, and squuzed lime- gluten free yummm!
I’m really loving running in the Nike relay Capri- they are very soft and comfortable!

Reply

Cute pattern!
I like to wear long, tight shorts for a run.

Reply

I hardly sweat at all. Even when I am giving it everything I got! I run in as few clothes as possible because even though I am not sweating I am plenty warm! As soon as it gets a bit nicer, I’ll be in shorts for sure! We are getting snow/rain in Colorado today, too. I was supposed to swim today and run tomorrow but I swapped it so I don’t have to run inside. I think our states pretty much get the same weather!!

Reply

I definitely prefer running in shorts. I hate the way things feel on my legs as they get hot and I sweat. Which brings me to the fact that I sweat a normal (?) amount. Is that a thing? I guess I feel that I sweat appropriately for whatever activity I am doing.

Reply

I am a sweater! And I kept it simple with a hearty green smoothie bowl for lunch. Happy Thursday, J! :)

Reply

I don’ sweat AT ALL really when working out, only if its inside and theres no air but even then, i don’t really sweat. When I’m sleeping? I sweat like crazy and am constantly over heating, but when running? Even in Los Angeles? No sweat.

I waaaaay prefer to run in capris. I’ll run in shorts if its that hot (and I don’t want the capri tanline hahah) but i prefer capris so I don’t get chub rub.

and I ate a turkey wrap for lunch :) found a place in downtown LA that’s actually inexpensive! Whaaaaaat!

Reply

Mary, that is crazy. I don’t sweat either except when I sleep! During the day I don’t even wear deodorant because I don’t have to. But at night, I would say 5/7 nights I wake up drenched. I thought I was the only one!!

Reply

Hi Chica! I sweat big time and I use my water bottles to keep me cool so I’m drenched. I love running in a skort because I think I look super cute in them, and a bright color tank top with a matching head band. I’m all about fashion even when running. Lunch? I ate Chipolte! I get the kid two taco kit because it’s the right small portion for me. It was grilled chicken, brown rice, pinto beans, small bag of chips and of course guacamole! Happy Easter to you & Brooke;)

My son is 14 and still likes to hide when we come home. Good thing we have a bigger coffee table now.

Reply

I sweat big time… But mostly through my head which is so weird but my hair is always completely soaked within 10 min and there is always sweat in my eyes..

I am also dating donuts!!!!

Reply

I’m a medium sweater, but no matter how far I go or how hard I run, I always have a tomato red face!

Any bottoms… I’m not picky.

I had mushroom quiche for lunch today. Weird lunch for a big lunch meeting at work but it was soooo good!

Reply

I sweat buckets in the summer. It’s humid in the south!
I prefer shorts.
Lunch: mâché rosettes with strawberries

Reply

-For me it depends! When I run or strength train I don’t sweat too much. But, after cycling I look like I just got out of the pool :)
-Workout shorts are all I run in. Guys aren’t very picky when it comes to running clothes!
-Lunch today was crock pot balsamic chicken, a baked yam with almond butter, and a spinach salad! It was delicious, although not as delicious as that salad looks!

Reply

If I’m indoors, I sweat like a beast! And during the summer if I’m out running and then come inside I sweat a ton.

Always shorts! They’re the most comfortable!

Reply

Definitely not a capris person – shorts if it’s warm (usually!), tights once it’s cold. I don’t know why, but capris just never felt right to me – although I ran my first marathon in capris. Fleece, sweat-pants style capris. Weirdest garment choice ever.

Reply

So you’re engaged to someone who owns a donut shop? Well-played ;)

Reply

I wish. Just think… fresh apple fritters whenever I wanted. Life would be perfect.

Reply

Girl! That was almost an April Fools joke!

Reply

I prefer running shorts when it is sweltering hot and Capris any other time. There’s a much smaller chance of chafing for me with Capris :)

Reply

I am shorts all the way…. unless its under 40, then I am pants, but never capris!
I am the same about shirts, for some reason I can tolerate a tank (but prefer no shirt ) or long sleeves, but cannot do short sleeves!

As far as sweating goes, I am super cold natured and not much of a sweater! Which I use to justify my non-showering habit :)

Reply

I love patterned tights – I just recently started branching out from basic black and wish I would have done so sooner. I consider myself to be a mild to medium sweater. I sweat a lot more now that I am pregnant… but I drink a lot more water too!

When I am running, I prefer to wear capris… something about having a little compression is really nice.

Reply

Do you sweat big time, medium or just a little bit when you work out?
**I sweat so much. SO. MUCH. I sometimes apologize to people on the treadmills next to me.

Do you prefer running in pants, shorts or capris? (Weather isn’t a factor for this question)
**Shorts if I have shaved, capris if I haven’t. Yep, that’s my real answer.

What did you have for lunch today?
**A bowl with steamed zucchini, some spinach leaves ripped up, a little white cheddar, some grass-fed beef cooked in coconut oil, salsa, and blue corn tortilla chips. It was ridiculous. And then I had chocolate.

Reply

I’m a big time sweater. Grosses my husband out. Lol. And not only am I bucket of sweat by the time I’m done, I’m a salty sweater. Definitely capris (leggings are a close close second). For lunch I had a steak sandwich with a side of grapes and carrots.

Reply

I’m a medium sweater – most of the time. If it’s even remotely hot, the sweat gets out of control and in my eyes.

Capris are my favorites, I still haven’t found shorts that I love.

Lunch today was a ridiculous leftover combo of green beans, Brussels sprouts and meatloaf that I topped with a couple of eggs.

Reply

I sweat big time. And I’m one of those people who is allergic to their own sweat. It’s a problem.

I like capris. I don’t show my thighs ever, and I would get to warm in pants.

For lunch I had leftovers: spinach, feta, quinoa casserole.

Reply

your so stylish when you run :)
and yumm I love donuts too. hmm It’s been too long since I’ve had one (like a week, haha)
I really like running in capris, but idk why I feel “faster” in shorts. Probably just in my head.
I sweat big time. grosss

Reply

Ohmigosh! Those capris are so cute! If only I would run in capris… I run in shorts. I always run in shorts. Unless the weather forces me to wear pants.

I guess I’d say I’m a medium sweater. ;)

And, for lunch I enjoyed the world’s greatest greek salad! Yumm!

Now I need you to promise me, if the snow keeps up or if there is any chance the roads are icy, you need to run inside tomorrow. Okay…?

Reply

I’m a huge sweater when I workout. It’s pretty gross. I love capris, I feel it helps with the chaffing issues.
I love the colour of the tank top too. I’m obsessed with blue (especially turquoise and Royal blue).

Reply

I always sweat a ton when I workout.
I definitely prefer shorts for runnings – I’m never comfortable in either pants or capris.
For lunch today I have a fried egg, two slices of toast topped with avocado, and broccoli and carrots with hummus.

Reply

I only sweat when I’m on the treadmill… or it’s the dead of summer! I wear shorts whenever it’s possible. I just bought new running stuff today and I’m SO excited! I also got a pair of those skinny adidas sweatpants. Love.

Reply

I hardly sweat at all, I’m sure I’m not running hard enough.

Your capris are so cute! I prefer to run in shorts. Also as some have mentioned about short sleeved shirts, I can run in a tank or long sleeved but never ever a short sleeved shirt, feels so odd I just can’t.

Your donut ring is stunning and I am SO in love with your little nephew, he is adorable!

Reply

Sweat! Oh my, how do I sweat! Problem is I don’t look sweaty, but I am! And, as embarrassing as it is, I tend to STINK after running! I have tried the wet wipe thing and reapplying deodorant, but it doesn’t help! —suggestions appreciated!

I prefer shorts to run in when possible! Haven’t found the “perfect” capris as of yet! Although I am eagerly awaiting some knickers I have ordered ……

Lunch? Turkey sandwich with tomato, lettuce, and avocado :)

Reply

Lunch was a salad and a sweet potato….follwed by gummies and chocolate, of course!

I love running in capri’s! I chafe in shorts:(

I always have sweet potato and egg hash for lunch! It is so good but I need to prep!

Reply

I only sweat when I’m running for some reason. Any other workout and I’m completely dry, but as soon as I start running I’m a mess. I don’t understand!

Capris are always most comfortable for me. Shorts can be hit or miss for me, and pants can be annoying to wear sometimes. Capris are perfect!

Reply

I can only ever run in capris! If I wear running shorts I have to wear Spandex under them or else I get major chaffage. I’m very impressed that you’re able to do long runs in shorts!

Reply

those capris are so cute! I like capris or shorts to work out in. I have two pairs of shorts that I LOVE running in because they don’t ride up but I can’t find them anymore wahhhh (they’re like 10 years old haha)

Reply

I don’t sweat that much. It seems like a major bonus but judgey folks tend to assume (and somemtimes comment) that I must not be working out hard enough. Then again I guess I shouldn’t care what judgey folks think.

Reply

i feel like i’m a medium sweater…but whenever i finish a long race and head to the massage tent, they always comment on how un-sweaty i am, which surprises me…so i guess i sweat less than 1) i think or 2) everyone else. i like to run in the capris that hit JUST at my knee — if they’re too long, they drive me nuts.

Reply

i am married, but i’m wondering if i can share this same relationship status?

Reply

Yeah, I tend to sweat a lot when I run… especially in the midst of summer here (88 degrees at 5 am w/ 99% humidity, sounds like a good time for a long run!). When I get home and hang up my clothes in the bathroom, they literally drip puddles onto the floor. Ew.
Run in shorts preferably.
Lunch was a sweet potato and a random cleaning-out-the-fridge salad, containing grilled veggies, white beans, mixed greens, avocado, and mini peppers. Followed by dark chocolate m&ms. Yum!

Reply

I’m always self conscious of patterned leggings, but when I see others at the gym wearing them, I love them! You look amazing in them, and I think I may need to give them a shot. That picture of Brooke and Curly at lunch really exhibits how much they look alike! Most of them time, I don’t really see a resemblance, but there it is clear as day that they are related. They even look like they could be sisters! But then again, you and your sister look so much alike that it makes sense. That baby is just as precious as the rest of the family. :)

Reply

I sweat a lot. I’ve been asked, where’s the pool in this gym?

I prefer capri’s and I’m partial to cwx stability tights. They make me feel supported and I love that.

I had a smoothie for lunch, I wasn’t that hungry. Vanilla shakeology, raw cacao, PB2, spinach and a banana.

Reply

I sweat buckets when I run. But then again it is usually like 80 % humidity in the South so you sweat just standing still outside.

And I prefer shorts and tank tops.
