My mom picked me up from the airport and we drove straight to dinner and my dad met us there.  Very good to be home.

We went to my parents’ house after and I was able to already see some of my favorite people in the whole wide world.  I babysat for them throughout my teen years and then I was their personal assistant during college… let me tell you something, they are the coolest bosses in the whole world.

Greasy bangs are a product of leaving for the airport approximately 21 minutes after getting home from teaching a spin class yesterday morning.

Reply

I have a running question! I’m training for a half marathon and my long runs are increasing by one mile each week, this week was 8 miles..
At what mileage do you start icing?? I have never iced my feet or taken an ice bath and am not sure if I need to start or if that’s more for longer than 13 miles..?

Reply

Personally, I take an ice bath if I feel my body needs it- it could be after a 10miles+ long run or after a short speed workout… Yesterday I ran 12 miles but I was feeling ok so I didn’t take one… And I ice ony if something hurts- my hip has been bothering me for over a month now and I Always make sure to ice it as much as I can. I always use a foam roller after my runs and after a tough run, I like to wear copression socks to speed up the recovery process. I’m not an expert though, that’s just what works for me ;) GOOD LUCK ON YOUR HALF!!!

Reply

Thank you!! I definitely need to start foam rolling

Reply

I did go out to dinner last night!! I went to Panera, which has been my go-to place during Finals. I got the same order I always get – french onion soup and the sierra turkey sandwich with no onions. Meal of champions!

Reply

Parents are in Wisconsin… and while I love them dearly I never plan on moving back.
We went to a new and new-to-us restaurant last night… kind of a south american vibe and it was FABULOUS. I mean there was guac, how could it not be?

Reply

I usually like cafe rio better but I just learned an interesting fact. A little girl my nephew is friends with has a corn allergy, so she can’t eat preservatives. From her mom we learned that cafe rio is loaded with preservatives and costa vida does not use them. Definitely makes me want to start supporting costa vida more now!

Have fun with your family!

Reply

I personally like Costa better but most of my friends prefer Rio so we end up there more often than not.
My parents live in SLC! I opted to do Jillian Level 3 instead of a run today. Feel the burn! I went to a Mexican restaurant last night that is a local favorite. Janae, I think you’d really, really like it :)

Reply

Brooke looks SO HAPPY to be with her cousin!! :) That’s just too cute. My parents live an hour away so it’s like a mini vacay every time we go there.
