Run Happy Brooks Running Shoes GIVEAWAY!!! [CLOSED]

Today you have the chance to win your very own pair of running shoes from the Brooks PureProject line!  The PureConnect, PureFlow, PureCadence and PureGrit are all part of Brooks new line that are lightweight, made with flexible material and designed to fit your foot perfectly.

I said it last week and I will say it again but I am hooked on these shoes.  I have no desire to even look at my other pairs of running shoes right now because I am loving running in these ones so much.

I love lightweight shoes but I also love cushioning and the PureFlow combine the two things in one shoe perfectly.  Even though they are a lightweight shoe they are something that I am excited to put tons of miles on because there is enough cushioning in them to do so.  I also really can’t wait to take these beauties out to do some speed work.  They are flexible but responsive; they feel super comfortable when my foot lands on the ground but firm to help me with the push-off.

Do you see the grey band that goes up and over the shoe by the shoelaces?  I have never had a shoe with anything like that before and I love how it keeps my foot perfectly in place.

Don’t worry, wearing these shoes will not make you have the world’s largest belly button like mine;)

Something that I really love about Brooks is their theme to Run Happy… They focus on designing products that allow us to love our runs.  I think if you have read my blog for more than a day or two you know by now that running happy is my favorite thing in the world (right after Billy of course) and these shoes clearly make me happy while running.

I told you that gravity is making me lean forward these days.

I know I tend to love most things in life but I really can’t say enough good about these shoes.  I have found my new soulmate.

Plus they are purple.  Everyone should love purple.

My Run Happy moment was last year in October when I managed to run a sub-2 hour half marathon (that’s fast for me) and place in my running club’s A team! Unfortunately I’ve been injured since December last year so that’s my most recent Run Happy moment!

My happy running moment was at the end of my first 10k when my sister finally found me again. We lost each other at a water station around mile 3 and right before the finish line I heard someone calling my name and we had a wonderful reunion – laughing and holding hands as we crossed the finish line.

Happy Running Moment – finishing my first 10 km race! I had only done an 8 km race before that, and it didn’t go very well, so I was thrilled when I kicked the 10 km (okay, kicked for me – I’m slow as molasses, but it’s all relative!).

I have a happy run moment whenever running pulls me out of a bad mood. One of those times was when I was dealing with a large amount of roommate drama. I left the house, went for a run, and gained the persepective I needed to stay sane.

A run happy moment I had was this morning! I got up extra early for a run before work (around 5, when I usually wait til 6) to get in a long run! I got to my favorite spot with my favorite view around mile 5 and took a break to watch the sun rise. Then finished up for a 12 mile run. Felt SO good after taking a few days off. My run happy moments are always early in the morning! :)

My last Run Happy was for the Tulsa Color Run. Touted as the “happiest 5K on the planet.” It was so fun and breezed by. So many smiles and the color was ridiculously hilarious and awesome. It was beautiful and magical. I haven’t gone for a run since because it’s been very hot. Maybe a new pretty pair of purple Brooks shoes will make me feel ‘cool.’

{My Run Happy Moment}: 2 months after my third half-marathon (in Louisville, KY) , I received a box in the mail with a surprise that led to my very happy running moment! I was sent a Louisville Stoneware mug that read “20-24 Female Division Third Place – Derby Festival miniMarathon.” It was the best surprise ever! I knew my run was a great one, but I loved receiving such a special reward after the fact. My twin sister was always the one to win trophies in sports when we were younger. I guess as we get older we now get mugs rather than trophies ;) I am so proud of my special mug posted up on the trophy case with my running “jewels” (medals!) too! :)

My Run Happy Moment I had was crossing the finish line at my first marathon in Atlanta, Georgia even though I had to walk 13 miles of it because once I stopped for a bathroom break (never will make that mistake again I will learn to have the strongest bladder in the world), I could never get going again because my IT band gave up on me. I still was determined to finish though and walked the rest of the way. I was so emotional when I finished, mainly upset that I didn’t run it and get a good time after all the training I had done, but now looking back…I finished. I crossed the finish line and I am proud of myself for walking through the pain.

I think my run happy moment was the last 10k I ran with my dad. He’s almost 70, so he takes a totally different approach to running. He just enjoyed being out there on the course, and I think we went up to almost every volunteer and police officer to thank them! We high-fived at every mile, and it was so fun crossing the finish line with him!

I would LOVE a pair of the pure FLOW. I have a TON of run happy moments, but my favorite was at my last marathon in February. This was my second marathon and in the first I made every rookie mistake. For this race, I decided to run smart and stick with the pace group. I had a blast running along and listening to the pace leader (who had run over 1000 races) talk about what running meant to him, the miles literally flew by. At the end, I felt strong and appreciated all the people I met during that race. I finished 24 min faster than my last race for a PR and literally jumped into the lead pacers arms at the finish line! Ahhh I love the running community! =)

In fifth grade, I was half the size of the other girls in my class and could never keep up in the sprinting races on the playground. However, one day our PE teacher had us do three laps around the field (around 800 meters) and I finished yards ahead of not only all those fast girls, but every single boy too! For the first time I saw that I had ability as a runner! I have not stopped running happy since that day!

The moment when you get past the “gah, this sucks” part of a short run you don’t feel like doing – the one where you peel yourself off the couch and force yourself out the do. When you realize “hey, this is kind of fun!”. Thats my run happy moment.

Happy moment(s) would be running hard up until week 36 of pregnancy, when I had to stop due to severe sciatic pain…and getting back into it a month after delivery. My latest happy run moment was on Saturday. Woke up at 4am to do my long run of 7 miles. (I know that prolly doesn’t seem long for you) I had to be at work by 7am. So got started at 4:50ish. Felt so good!!!!

I recently started running again after injury, and my best run back was yesterday. Me and the boy went running around the seafront. It wasn’t too hot as the sun was hiding away, but the breeze definitely sorted out the humidity.
By no standards was it a long run (about 5miles), but definitely on the tracks to increasing my mileage again!

I really realllly want a pair of Brook’s running shoes, and the new range have me drooling at them… loooooove the purple!

1. I’ve been extra busy + peak training which means by the time I’m done inhaling food I’m not doing much sleeping….and sleep deprivation=the wrong kind of crazy thinking for this gal.
Anyhow, all that was getting to me this week and I could feel my mind losing it + just felt yucky about nothing in particular.
Still laced up and got myself going on a shakeout run, and in spite of all the exhaustion I felt the clouds life, I started thinking straight [dare I say logically??!], and got my pep back. :-)
