10 Facts From Last Night.

1.  When I told Brooke that we were going to go outside to ride her bike she ran into her room to get out her gloves.  How a two year old understands the concept (and importance) of riding gloves is beyond me.

2.  The girls all came for a sweatastic spin class.  Seriously, we were all drenched by the end.  I’m glad that I am the only one that didn’t get the memo to look at the camera… I guess that looking up is just expected or something.

After a hard hill climb I had the class get off of their bikes to do squats for 3 minutes straight…  that burned just a tinsy bit.

IMG 8423

3.  We all like food.  We all like going out to eat.  Seemed like going out for dinner was a wise decision after class.

IMG_8426.jpg

4.  Ummm how ridiculously cute is Brooke going to look in her Minnie themed headband from HERE.   And come October 1st, she will start dressing up in her Halloween gear.

5.  Brooke completed a triathlon between her biking, swimming (in the bath) and sprinting up and down the driveway yesterday.  Please note how her foot is about to land directly beneath her body.. yes, I am proud of her stellar running form… especially the smile, that is the best form possible.

6.  Great way to prepare for a marathon—> eat ice cream while reading the runner’s guide to the race.  Blue Bunny is always the right choice.

7.  We like each other a lot.

DSC 0492

8.  Okay, this one wasn’t from last night but from a few days ago…  Who wouldn’t want to date a girl that wears a lucky charms shirt while eating her cereal!?!

IMG 8343

9.  Stopped at the store for the necessities.  We already talked about my obsession with Colgate but I also refuse to buy any other deodorant than the pear Dove one (amazing) and watermelon gum is kind of where it is at.

IMG 8412

10. Saw this awesome running outfit last night.  Very different than what we are used to seeing on the track!

Not a gum chewer, my husband thinks it’s gross and I stopped my habit when we were dating! Now I think it’s kind of gross too ;)

If I don’t get gelato I usually go for Ben and jerrys. I haven’t been to a class in a long time. I’ve been mostly working on my own and taking it easy. Your muscleslook amazing in that picture!

I used to chew a ton of gum and then it really started to cause me to bloat and not feel that great. I think I chewed way too much though weirdly enough. I don’t even know how that is possible haha.

Anyways I can’t believe about Brooke and her ability with the gloves. That is seriously awesome. Good for her. It’s so awesome how close you and Brooke are. It always makes me smile in the morning.

Reply

I love Orbit Spearmint gum….I actually only chew gum while I am running, but I always chew it when I run :).
Unfortunately I think the last group exercise class I went to was Jazzercise when I was in high school :)!
I buy the big bucket of Blue Bunny from the store :)…that or Breyers.

Reply

I love Ben & Jerry’s! Usually half baked or the brownie kind, SO delish. I’m loving those icebreakers cubed gum, it’s weird, but super minty!

I haven’t been to a group fitness class since yoga at the beginning of this year, I def miss it!

Reply

Those pics of Brooke…cuteness overload!

Orbit Wintermint. I can’t run without it.

I don’t know that I’ve been to a group fitness class. Sad, I know.

I’ve been getting the Talenti gelato lately. I stock up when its on sale then try not to eat it all in a week. Some weeks that works better than others!

Fact about me…I can’t bend my feet. When I curl my toes downward, my foot basically stays flat. And two of my toes don’t bend at all.

ben & jerry’s half baked frozen yogurt- love the chunks!!!
crossfit… everyday…which is all about community :)

Ben and Jerry’s coffee heath bar crunch, or Edy’s Slow Churned pumpkin in the fall!

Reply

It’s been too long since I have been to a group fitness class. Marathon training just takes up so much time! If you could yoga, that was 3 weeks ago. Body pump was more like 6 weeks ago. Once the marathon is over I hope to get back to some spin classes!

Reply

Kindof a blend of the first and third question, I recently signed myself and my little one up for a swim class that starts in two weeks. I’m so excited!

Ben & Jerry’s Coffee Coffee Buzz Buzz is amazing, as is Edy’s Coffee flavor.

Ah, I miss gum! I’m not able to have it anymore because ALL of them now contain aspartame and I’m allergic to that. I miss the days of real sugar…

Reply

I’m obsessed with ponchos right now… all forms… sweaters, coats, etc… I love them all!

asking gum people to choose their fav gum is like asking a parent to choose their favorite child…lol

I think it’s a local brand… Stewarts… they have the best flavors!

Reply

I just did my first Barre class this morning! As a runner I thought “ohhh my legs are pretty strong, this should be okay”…joke.was.on.me. Burning and shaking all class.

Fun fact: Just whipped out my fall boots this morning. I LIVE in my brown boots in the fall/winter. Can’t help myself.

Reply

Day two after Barre class is the worst. Hope you can walk! I always hobble a little so stretch those calves! It’s a great class.

Reply

Thanks for the advice!!….I’ll be sure to keep stretching them =)

Reply

Yeah for spin! It’s my favorite and thanks for reminding me to fit it into my new fitness routine as I ramp things up from my injury. Your pics with Brooke are so precious. It’s so awesome how genuine this aspect is of your blog!

Last fitness class: Group Power about 2 hours ago!
Ice cream: Dreyer’s especially the s’mores kind!

Best ice cream is Blue Bell, hands down! So so yummy!

Last fitness class was spin! I always try to go 1x per week, but lately I have been doing more while I’m healing plantar fasciitis and off running at the moment.

Reply

I am leaving for a work trip today and spending 3 days away from the fam. I’m going to miss them but I’m kind of excited about only having to worry about myself for the next 3 days.

I am stuck on Mentos gum right now. Seriously, it doesn’t lose its flavor.

Yoga was probably my last group exercise.

Umpaqua frozen vanilla yogurt is where it’s at, unless I’m in TX and then it’s all about Blue Bell.

Reply

I love spinning (and cycling, generally). It was a new found love after I had to stop running this summer due to injury.

Fact: Almost all of my blog posts are written while eating ice cream (I often write at night and I have an insatiable sweet tooth)! I love the gelato from Marianos, but let’s be honest, I don’t discriminate! :)

Reply

My favorite ice cream is candy cane fudge ice cream!

Best ice cream brand is Premium Select from Smiths. They have the best flavors…salted caramel truffle and dark chocolate raspberry are a few faves. And moose tracks. And mint moose tracks. I’ll stop.

Reply

Fact: I’ve been getting up extra early to have a quiet cup of coffee with my cat. As much as I hate getting out of bed I am seeing the definite payoff in being a better, more patient, mother in the morning.
I’ve been going more towards mints and less toward gum lately but my favorite is either the red Sour Patch Kids or the Lemon Squares.
Last group fitness was yoga. I hadn’t looked at the description and class was about a half hour longer than I expected. Fortunately most of the extra time was in a special savasana.
Favorite grocery store ice cream is Friendly’s- probably because I worked there in college.

Reply

That sounds so lovely to get up early and relax with a cup of coffee before the crazy day begins, and it made me laugh too, very cute! Reading that made me want to snuggle up on my couch and do the same.

Reply

I took an orange theory fitness class yesterday morning. And…I opted to bike for the cardio section. I used to hate indoor cycling, but I’m slowly coming around. It’s such good cross training for runners.
I never buy ice cream for my house. That requires too much willpower!

Reply

The last group fitness class I went to was spin last night! So fun! It’s actually the only group fitness class I go to. I need to start incorporating yoga in once a week though too. I just really dislike yoga so it’s hard to make myself go.

I love your pic with Lucky Charms and your Lucky Charms shirt! So cute! Did you get that with the Cherrios shirt or did you have that one already?

Reply

I have actually never been to a group fitness class. At my gym all the classes cost extra and they never seem to be at convenient times for me. I would love to try a spinning class though!

Reply

I’m boring with gum. Extra spearmint.
I am still recovering from Ragnar napa. Man ultra teams are hard. My eyelids were sore on the inside.
I love Haagen das vanilla and then I dump my own chocolate chips on.

Reply

My favorite gum is Extra Watermelon. I used to love the Strawberry Shortcake dessert delight but they stopped making it which I will never understand! Best store ice cream? Hmm. Ben & Jerrys or I want to say Edy’s. I like Turkey Hill but I think Edy’s might be better. Breyer’s is good too. I think I like them all lol.

Reply

…not a gum person.
last class…spin, probably a year ago.
Favorite brand of ice cream. Turkey hill, or Ben and Jerry’s
My kids went through the glove phase…warning get extra pairs, suddenly they “need” them for lots of activities and they frequently lose them (really they lose only one of them…)
Has she started carrying a purse? One of my favorite things to do was look at the treasures that were kept in there…Hmmm, a doll shoe, a crayon, one playing card and a ball. Just what every girl needs!

Reply

You eating ice cream while reading the runner’s guide is kind of like me having a glass of wine and eating Junior Mints while watching the Biggest Loser. Today I am hoping to sneak away for an hour or two and go running/hiking at one of my favorite spots in Central Oregon. I will likely be chewing Extra Spearmint gum while doing this activity because it is my favorite and I cannot exercise without gun → mental thing?

Reply

Talenti ice cream is where it’s at…their sea salt caramel flavor is what dreams are made of.

Reply

i have to say, that runner looks like she’s running in her swimsuit. I’m not big fan.
I like minty gum and any ice cream will do for me.
I use to hit a Pilates reformer class twice a week. It was the best ever for my running. I’ll get back to it someday when my schedule eases up and I don’t need 2 jobs. ;)

Does anyone know what happened to @My Neon Running Shoes?

I was looking over all my blog subscriptions today in order to update and I saw that one. I was wondering the same thing…

Reply

She is doing really well! I think she just wants to focus on being a mom right now and so that is why she stopped blogging!

Reply

Good!! I was worried. Thanks for the update!

Reply

You gals are all too cute after spin class! How fun that they all came to your class! Best store bought ice cream: Ben & Jerry’s or Tillamook! I’ve been wanting to try that red velvet ice cream you’re eating here. I always consider it but then I end up going back to my beloved cookie dough. ;)

Reply

I teach BodyPump and BodyAttack, so those are the last ones I’ve been to, but also taken RPM :) I LOVE group fitness but it’s definitely tapered off a little bit while marathon training.

Dentyne Pure Mint is my favorite gum-I tried some from a friend awhile back, and it’s the only one I ever buy now!!

Ice cream-I’d have to say Dryers, or Haagen Dazs Sea Salt Caramel Gelato!!

Reply

Tillimuck chocolate peanut butter ice cream is the best of all. So good. If you’ve never had it you must try it!

Hey!! This is the first time I’m commenting even though I’ve been reading you for a few weeks! I looooooove your posts. Seriously. You are a great inspiration. I recently started taking running more seriously and love all your tips and stories. Hope one day i can run marathons as well! I am on a weight loss journey and finally being able to run without almost fainting is a progress!

I cannot live without gum and may I say watermelon is awesome when it comes to gum flavour. Ice cream – my favourite is from Carte D’or, not sure if this brand exists in the USA (I am from Portugal). And as for group classes – I love doing spin and body combat (and other combat-y classes) – did combat yesterday! :)

Have an awesome day!

Reply

You look so strong!!! Way to go!

Reply

I love that running outfit! Go that girl! haha

And check out your arm muscles in that picture! Ow ow!

Reply

those headbands are adorable.

Reply

Excel bubblemint all the way. Best of both worlds.

I would love to attend your spin classes – they sound like so much fun!!

Reply

biking gloves? So cute.

I don’t have that strong of a toothpaste preference, but we do have the same “taste” in deoderant. That’s the only stuff I’ll use.

We have a local brand of organic ice cream called “Three Twins.” It’s pretty spectacular. But it’s also expensive, so I very rarely buy it.

Reply

Ahh!! I buy that deodorant in bulk! I am sensitive to smells (some deodorants are too perfume-y) and this Dove one is perfect and keeps ME not too smelly :)

Love Orbit Sweet Mint gum.

Your group looks super fun. You’re inspiring me to get to a group class this week – it has been FOREVER. I go on group runs all the time but my gym has great looking classes. I’ll give it a go. Thanks!

Reply

I think her riding with gloves says something about her fashion sense!

Reply

ahhhh I miss gum– I used to chew it a lot then one time I broke off a piece of a filling while chewing and now I’m paranoid about it :( I miss watermelon gum- SO GOOD! Also I’m in the market for a new deodorant so maybe I will have to try that one out!

Reply

My last class I took was Zumba. I try to do it at least onow a week. So much fun! I miss spin class though. Hoping to start that soon.

I can’t chew gum unfortunately. I got a really bad head concussion that gave me severe TMJ so I can’t chew it. Causes me migraines. Bummer!

I love Thrifty’ a ice cream. Absolute favorite! I sear have for that brand every time I am in the mood for some ice cream.

Reply

**can we first talk about your guns/back/shoulders?! You look amazing!! Please post your workouts to get Jacked like J! **

I have to chew Orbit wintermint, nothing else tastes good right now (may change, my husband is all about stride? gum..)

I am not into ice cream, however, when I was in NYC in May we came across a small ice cream place w/homemade icecream. I got the pistachio and OMG, it was like grinded pistachios in the icecream, AMAZING!

Reply

Her outfit rocks! I used to love the fruity trident one, like tropical fruit or something? Right now I am having a hard time finding a gum I like though :( #firstworldproblems Those head wraps are adorable! I want to go order some for my little girl right now :)

Reply

Come to Texas. Eat Blue Bell ice cream. You will wish you lived here. Just for the ice cream.

The only brand I buy.

Reply

Last group fitness class was spin as per – best gym class and cross training activity hands down!

Reply

I ate plums, fresh from my tree, for breakfast this morning. So yummy
I like to try new flavors and brands of gum. I bet that makes the gum marketing people upset.
Last group fitness class was yoga.
Breyers is the ultimate best ice cream ever. Their mint chocolate chip is to die for. Cheapest place to get it is Walmart. But if you want to feel good about eating it, then buy from Good Earth. If GE sells it, it must be healthy and most likely doesn’t even count as eating a dessert.

Reply

My last group fitness class was BodyPump!
By the way, you be sportin’ some amazing guns in that second photo! AWESOME :D

Reply

I go to a spin class and a Pilates class at my gym. I love using them to switch up my running routine since they use such different muscles!

Reply

MAJOR weakness for Talenti gelato. Every flavor I have had is so dang good! And luckily it comes in small containers so it’s somewhat self-limiting.

The only group fitness class I go to these days is yoga. I do pretty much everything else on my own, but I do like a yoga class!

Fun fact about my life, hmm…. I guess the best thing that is happening right now is that Fall is coming and I am OK with it. I usually get really depressed about Fall because after Fall comes Winter and Winter is the worst season that ever existed. But this year, I’m feeling more OK with it for some reason. Maybe because I finally have a nice collection of boots? Who knows. Most likely it’s because Fall means beautiful running weather and an excuse to buy some new leggings!

Reply

Fact: Your arms are inspiring me to do something about my pair of wet noodles.

Gum: Trident Layers Gum ALL Flavours (but especially the peach)

Last Group Fitness: YYC Spin in Calgary. Clubbing (rocking loud music, killer lights) meets Fitness (challenging and energizing spin routines). Fantastic!

Ice cream and I never got along…more for the rest of you!

Reply

Extra Spearmint gum – so minty!
Boot camp this morning – leg day!! I’m feeling it every time I get up from my desk!
No Ice cream for me anymore :( I used to LOVE chocolate and peanut butter from Baskin Robbins when I was a kid

Reply

I love the Dove deodorant scents — I rotate through them all, but that one is definitely a good one! :)

Reply

I so wish I could take one of your classes. And I have been obsessed with Which Wich lately and am so mad at myself for forgetting my punch card the last 5 times! I was 5 visits closer to a free sandwich darn it!

I’m so excited to see how you do on race day! It totally sucks that it’s going to be so hot but it sounds like you have hydration all figured out. My last marathon was about 80 degres (a couple weeks ago) and it was brutal, so I feel ya! I peed myself on the course too. Not pretty. :)

Reply

Yea for Blue Bunny! I live in Iowa and am friends with one of the owners sons–great people and a great company. And amazing ice cream!! :)

Reply

Stride is my fave brand of gum.

Last class, yesterday went to Zumba

Fave ice cream- coffee toffee by Ben and Jerry

I did a Native Barre class last week that was amazing!
