And the cause of 9 out of 10 times that I get mad at someone: (this card may be in Billy’s email inbox a few times).
Billy just needs to carry around an emergency pack of skittles so I don’t go crazy on him or anyone around me if my blood sugar gets too low.
Speaking of Skittles: I was checking the search terms for my blog and a few people found HRG by searching,
“Eating skittles before long run.”
“Fueled by chocolate hungry runner.”
I am leaving my mark on the world, one skittle and milky way at a time.
This morning my run was HARD. I did 8 miles in about 68 minutes and my legs felt like led the whole time. The first 3 miles of every run are usually pretty difficult for me because I am still trying to wake up and start to feel the endorphins but today that feeling never came.
Two options after a bad run:
1. Think negatively about myself, my abilities or running in general.
2. Get that much MORE pumped about my next run and do things to make my next run awesome (a little thing called sleeping more and maybe a few less tootsie rolls and a heck of a lot more healthy foods)
When I first started reading running blogs and hearing about everyone’s awesome runs and races I felt like I was the only one that had really craptastic runs every now and then (read: a few times a week;).
As much as I talk about my really good runs (because those good run are REALLY worth talking about) where I feel on top of the world, there are a bunch of times where I feel like a snail, unplug the treadmill and resume my morning on the couch.
Kind of a random little topic but I just want to make sure that people know that part of running is having those awful runs where you feel tired and don’t want to keep going, it is having the courage to lace up your shoes and try it again that makes you an awesome runner and athlete.
For the next 38 hours of my life (okay, only 5) I have parent-teacher conference. Please feel free to entertain me with stories or jokes for me to read during my breaks.
Do you get all crazy when you are hungry? Does the above card apply to you?
-I think my brain just shuts down and I no longer think clearly if my blood sugar gets low….hence the meals/snacks every 1.2 hours.
If you have a blog: What are some funny search terms that people have used to find your blog?
Rate your last run on a scale of 1-10!!!
-2.5, okay, maybe a 2.6.
