I attempted taking a picture of me on my favorite treadmill but then people around me were pointing and laughing so I I took a picture of the treadmill and ran to the corner crying.

Please enjoy a sweaty iphone picture of me foam rolling.  It only took 22 tries. If I am looking this creepy in the picture just imagine what the 21 outtakes looked like.

photo-15.jpg

I did not spill my water bottle all over me, that is the consequence of 10 hill repeats in 11 miles.  Reason #4565 to exercise in the early morning….Billy doesn’t see me looking like a beast but I guess taking a picture defeats the purpose since I post it for him and many others to see.  Hmm..I guess I should rethink this whole posting pictures of me sweating like a man thing.

NewImage.jpg

After my run I took off my shoes and noticed blood on the top of my foot.  Weird.  I didn’t feel pain on my foot during the run but I think it was bleeding because I tied my shoes to tight.  It stings a little now (probably because I spilled hot chocolate on my foot).

Let’s talk about battle wounds.

My top battle wounds:

-I am the queen of chaffing.  Do I just have sensitive skin….what’s going on here? I use Body Glide religiously. I thought I had skin cancer when I first started running because the tag of my shorts made a huge mark on my lower back and I had no idea why.

-One time I fell so hard on the sidewalks that cars pulled over to see if I needed help because I banged my forehead and it was bleeding.  I waited on the street corner until my brother came to pick me up (good thing I always take my phone with me).

-It rained the entire time during my second marathon which produced some gnarly huge blood blisters all over my feet.

-I have made grown men cry when I passed them during a race (okay, that is someone else’s wound but I am going to count it).

There is also still time to enter my giveaway:)

———————————————————————-

What are some of your battle wounds from running or working out? Do you notice during your workout if you are chafing, blistering etc?

-It is the weirdest thing but I think all of the endorphins cancel out that burning chafing feeling until I get into the shower and then I pay.

What did you have for lunch today?

-I had a huge salad (topped with tuna, carrots and broccoli), a pear, and a greek yogurt.  Dessert=A blow pop…..deliciousness.  Two hours later I had a bag of popcorn.

Do you have a certain treadmill/elliptical/machine at the gym that is your favorite?

-Yep, right by the fan, the tv works perfectly and it doesn’t wobble like half the treadmills do.

My ankle got bloody yesterday! I think it was because it was so cold and my shoe was so stiff. I also fell on the ice the other day and scraped my ankle.

Great hill workout!! You are a running superstar!

I ate it pretty big running outside a week ago, but my elbow is healing up. Mostly I just have blisters. That, and I HATE wearing sunscreen when I run, so I usually end up with some lame ass burns in the summer.

I have to tell you – you are my hero! I just discovered your blog a few days ago and have been going back to read all your previous entries. I am a crazy runner girl just like you (do people look at you like you are CRAZY when they find out you woke up at the crack of dawn to run 15 or 20 miles? my friends and coworkers think i am pretty much insane). and i sweat like a monster too.

My feet bleed on practically every run. It's a real pain doing laundry. 2 of my toenails died and then had new ones grow under them so I had to wait until they were fully grown to clip the dead ones off–not pretty. But my favorite scar is a 2-inch one on my right arm that makes it look like I might have been in a knife fight. What actually happened was I was carrying a pan of hot eggs and accidently burned myself trying to carry too much.

Reply

I had an English muffin cheese pizza for lunch since I am 5 years old and all.

There is one treadmill that I am in love with because its along the wall away from all the other treadmills plus it is right under a huge vent. Since I sweat about as much, if not more than you do, this means this treadmill is prime real estate for me!

Reply

Wait I am the same way..endorphines always cancel it out, and then hot water happens! I always get blisters/chafing, but thank goodness my dad is a marathoner so I don't feel like a freak for using body glide on my body:)

I had a GIANT salad con balsamic, carrots, pepper, tomatoes, an apple, and a bunch of lentils and amaranth with NO RAISINS because we are out!! I do not know what I am going to do, my head may explode

Slash yes I defs have a fave machine, it just does not feel the same if I use a different one!

Reply

Yikes! Haha just kidding. I get blisters on the end of both of my second toes and the side of my big toes if I run on loose gravel or on sanded roads unless I remember my aquaphor. For lunch I had chili that I made, chips, water, yogurt and cookies. Yum!! I take whatever treadmill is open.

Reply

I can chafe badly, but always in the same place, so I know to apply body glide. HOWEVER, during my half marathon, it was raining so I was wet the whole time, and I chafed around my waistband, which I have never done before.

The worst part is not knowing that it happened and then getting in the shower, YOWZA!!!

Reply

I had a huge salad too! With kidney beans, carrots, celery, cucumbers, and a hummus dressing I made. Oh yeah…and 2 red velvet cupcakes. It was one of my coworker's bday today! :)

My fave treadmill at my gym is the one with a working tv and headphone input…which is only 1! Haha.

Reply

You crack me up! Your salad sounds good!

Reply

Way to dominate those hills, girl! I don't injure myself too much (surprisingly), but in my first half marathon I put my ipod in my sports bra while I ran. I'm gonna go right out and say it… between the tata's is a bad place to chaffing. Lunch = Pizza made on a sundried tomato bagel! And an apple. So yum. And yep I always get on the same treadmill – the one of the very end, and grab the same place up front at Body Pump!

Reply

I am constantly falling or hurting myself – it's just who I am! :)

OMG. I love this post.
I fell into a ditch a few weeks back. Didn't hurt myself but it was kinda dramatic!
Lunch… Hmmmm? Something horrible… Oh, right, Left overs from a pasta salad, limp and old… And a big handfull of mini candy bars. And an air head (the candy, not myself.)

Reply

I fall regularly while running. It was funny at first, but now it's just sad.

One time I got a bloody nose on a run and didn't have a mirror so I didn't know how bad it was. I stopped a lady walking and said, "Do I have blood all over my face?!" I'm sure that was the low point of her year.

Reply

It rained for my entire first marathon. I got blisters on my feet and chafed really bad from my sports bra and shirt I was wearing. I didn't really feel the blisters or chafing while I was running actually. Probably cause all the pain I could feel was in my knee. I sure felt it as soon as I got in the shower and wanted to scream it hurt so bad at that point. OUCH!! I have battle wound scars now near my collar bone and were the bottom part my sports bra lays

Reply

Best. Product. Ever. Hoo Ha Ride Glide. This stuff beats out body glide any day! Check it out – http://www.reflectsports.com/anti-chafing-skin-cream It helped me get through Ironman training with no issues!!

Reply

It was so funny the first time my husband chafed. He thought his armpits were going to fall off. He still talks about it. I think he is afraid of running for that very reason. He said he wants to shave his armpits and let them grow back because chafing ruined them. As you can see, he is not a runner, lol. Great workout pretty lady!

Reply

I think my worst battle scar would have to be from bball not exactly running. I had some pretty bad bruises on my elbow and knees. I did fall last year while running – I rolled my ankle on the sidewalk right in front of a lady walking. She was so worried about me but I got up, bloody hand and knee, and said I was ok and ran home.

For lunch today I had soup and cheezits and brownies and yogurt and fruit. I am craving candy RIGHT NOW but there is none in the house :(

I try to use the same treadmill all the time but sometimes ppl take them. As long as I get one of the newer ones in the second row I am good! That way I am not looking straight up at the treadmills.

Reply

One battle wound: I was running through the park and a rollerblader was running towards me and I was going to be nice and clear the path. So, I ran over to the grassy area and half my foot was on concrete and the other half was lingering above the grass– yep, I rolled over my ankle and I could feel it starting to swell instantly. I jumped up and smiled at the rollerblader like I was excited to fall or something and said I was fine and just started to run before I couldn't move my foot. I had 4 KM left until I got home. :(

I had a delicious tuna sandwich with a banana, yogurt, oranges, and a bag of veggies. Yea, I like to snack.

Reply

You attacked those HILLS girl! You are truly talented– double digit hill workouts looked beyond challenging to me! You didn't have purple on??

Lunch = crab salad sandwich (pic on my blog today), carrots, granola bar, and protein bar!

After a 5 mile race on my birthday I took my shoe off to find my sock bloody and the sole of my shoe. I won 1st in my age group so it was totally worth it. I actually didn't feel a thing. If you saw my feet right now you'd probably call those a battle wound too, eek.

Who pointed and laughed at you!? I will beat them up! no one messes with Janae!

I had a delicious salad at an italian cafe for lunch with a side of (an entire basket of) bread and olive oil. YUM!

Reply

You look great even when you are sweaty! I'm not sure if I'd have been able to hold my phone after running 10 hill repeats. :)

I had a huge salad with spinach, chickpeas, bell pepper, mushroom, avocado, etc etc. And an apple with almond butter. Our little apartment gym has 3 treadmills and I like the outside 2, but the one in the middle looks straight at the wall. And there's only 1 elliptical machine so I get really excited when it's available!

Reply

I have only ever chaffed a couple of times and have only ever used body glide a couple of times because of blisters. Those are my battle wounds. One time after a run I took my shoe off and my sock was pretty covered in blood because of a blister.

For lunch I had a ton of roasted veggies: broccoli (thanks for getting me HOOKED), carrots, potatoes, red and yellow onions, and butternut squash. I let them cook while I was taking a bath and kind of left them in there too long and the bottom burned… but they still tasted good. I smothered them in ketchup because I'm having a major ketchup craving.

Reply

I'm losing a toenail and I'm inordinately proud about it. Of course, I just had a terrible awful run with a giant stitch in my side. I was hobbling like a little old woman. I don't run long enough to really chafe! But, I do wear my sports bras inside out b/c the seam at the top of the shoulders bugs the crap out of me.

Reply

So I got 2 black eyes in high school playing lacrosse. Those were fun, I had to reschedule my senior picture because of one, and everyone thought my bf at the time hit me.

In Ultimate I've gotten some gnarly turf burn from diving to catch the disc, those are fun and red and scratchy for days. It's attractive.

I had a tootsie pop for dessert at lunch. It was delicious.

Reply

Yup! I always choose the spin machine by the fan, so I can cool down when I'm all sweaty. I choose a treadmill NOT in front of the mirrors, I hate watching myself run.
I have battle wounds because I'm the queen of clumsy. I have a scar near my eye from falling and hitting the corner of a lunchtable in 2nd grade – had to get stitches.

Reply

you are a sweaty girl :) i love it.

my ankles get bloody all the freaking time. i think it's my shoes though…

Reply

I have a LEAST favorite treadmill… found it today. haha. It was wobbling the whole time!

For lunch I had a big ole salad with goat cheese and dried cranberries. It was yummy.

Reply

I have gotten two blisters on my toes in the past week from upping my mileage and my sweaty feet. I, too, notice the chaffing when I get in the shower and man, oh man, does it burn!!

I like the treadmill next to the wall.. it lessens to chance of getting weirdos on both sides. I don't like weird people next to me on the treadmill.

Reply

I pretty much fall while running once every year. It has happened every year for so long now that I kind of expect it and am not surprised when it happens. I am usually spacing our looking at houses or trees or birds when all of a sudden the sidewalk jumps up in front of me and I face-plant. Cars have definitely stopped to see if I'm okay. Just a teeeeny bit embarrassing.

Lunch = turkey and spinach wrap.

Nope. No treadmill/eliptical favs because I don't have a gym membership. I'm an outside worker-outer all the way.

Reply

Sweaty Beasts Unite!!!

My favorite treadmill is the newest one, right by the wall, so only 1 other person can be next to me!

Lunch was 1/3 of a turkey sub, sun chips, cookie and water. Sorta weak (was at a training) so I ate a baggie of carrots + celery and an apple that I brought in my purse during our afternoon break.

Reply

ooh I have a battle wound from falling off the treadmill a few years ago – it was gnarly. Huge scar on the knee.

Lunch was greek yogurt, sliced pear, walnuts and dried figs. mmmm

Reply

I sometimes notice when I'm hurting but blisters wise I don't notice till it's driving me crazy in work shoes later=( I had an apple and a packet of justin's chocolate almond butter. I bought a packet to see I'd I liked it and seeing as I are the second half of the packet with no apple I'd say I DO!

Reply

I actually get inner thigh chafing from the stationary bike lol! But not so much from running.

I had a huge salad too! Spinach, cauliflower, apple, sweet potato and tofu and a cheese stick.

I actually have two favorites, one I like for speed work and one for longer runs… no TVs in the college gym =(

Reply

I chafe so bad at my sports bra, right at the band in the middle of my chest and I actually have scars where one bra rubbed against the tops of my boobs. I also have chafing scars that look almost like cigarette burns on my hips from my fuel belt after a long run. Ouchies!

Reply

Your intro to this made me laugh out loud! Gosh I love you. so funny. I ate like poop today. Had a major craving for a big cheeseburger and I ate ever delicious bite of it from burgerville. I'm such a hypocrite. ahhh. Battle wounds? bloody feet at the Boston Marathon. Oh, and then really sore boobs after this : http://runninghood-amanda.blogspot.com/2010/10/big-kid-falling-down_24.html

funny story about a running accident that left me sore.

YOU CRACK ME UP. I love it. I check your blog twice a day and I love seeing what the heck you're going to do next! :)

Nice hill work! My hill workouts are much shorter than that but awesome for you!

Reply

Your favorite treadmill is my most hated treadmill! Ha! I love Cybex treadmil. I always feel pain after running on it – not sure why. ls, but I hate, hate, hate the one in your picture. But I always go for the one in front of the fan with the working tv.

I sometimes get bloody socks, too, but like you I never notice it until I am getting in the shower.

Your workouts are sooooo inspiring! I thought I worked out hard!

Reply

I am in love with "my treadmill" @ my gym! I actually have had people apologize for being on it! LOL!!! There is just something about it that makes my runs much better! I had the same chaffing happen on my lower back from my running shorts!! I actually have a scar there from it! AWESOME hill run!!!

Reply

Yes, I have serious problems with chaffing. I have a scar on my lower back from the tags in my shorts and people have asked if I've had a tattoo removed!

Reply

I scraped my knee and my ego when I fell of the treadmill.

For lunch I had what I call kitchen sink dump. Scrambled eggs w/whatever I can find in the fridge. Today was leftover potatoes, cheese, avocado, spinach and tomatoe. And some Greek yoghurt and maybe some cookies.

Reply

You LUCKY DUCK! That is the best treadmill I've ever seen, no wonder you run on it for hours!

Reply

I totally have my favorite treadmill! I will wait (if it's not too long) if someone is one there to finish up so that I can run on it :) And if someone else is on there I kind of give them a dirty look like 'hey that's mine!' lol!

Reply

I used to get done with runs and have the whole front of one sock be bloody. My toenail would dig into one of my feet and I never noticed. Now that I get a size bigger in gym shoes, it never happens. :-)

Reply

I always have to take a gazillion pictures of myself before one turns out where I don't look too possessed.

Thankfully I haven't had many battle wounds from running–usually only 1-2 falls/winter and some blisters from my marathon. My permanent "scars" are my black toenails that will forever be black.

I also had a huge salad and some salmon chowder for lunch.

Reply

You look adorable, not creepy!

I have many battle wounds too (apparently I trip a lot while running). And Body Glide is my best friend.

Reply

I love Glide! I don't really have any sweet battle wounds (unless shin splints counts), but I'd love to pretend I sprained my elbow running on ice instead of when I was walking at a slow speed.

Reply

Chafing is my biggest issue. One thing that I learned as I've been running outside in the Chicago winter is sometimes where you chafe changes with the weather! I have been chafing in different spots this winter… :( I have tried a sample that I got at a race called "Udder Cream." It was great, but I haven't been able to find it since!

BTW, I have been eating swedish fish before &after my runs, and it's been helping me power through so much more! It's awesome :)

Reply

I fell so hard once my glasses flew off into the street! I had to limp home. It was humiliating!

Reply

Battle wounds? Mostly a big dark mark on my chest where my jog bra rubs. It's ugly!

For lunch I had smoky pork roast with baked beans and corn – kind of a one-pot thing I could eat at work without grossing my customers out.

Reply

What kind of socks do you wear? I wear Drymax on trails and they get wet and muddy and guess what…ZERO blisters. You should see if they help your feet. You do seem to have some pretty sensitive skin. I guess I'm pretty fortunate because I don't really experience chaffing.

My top/biggest battle wounds have been losing toe nails. Lost two after a race last year.

Reply

I recently got a running battle wound because I fell off the treadmill. But I think my worst is in the 4th grade a boy pushed me down when I passed him running the mile and I still have a massive scar on my knee from where I hit the pavement.

For lunch today I had left over spinach calzone from dinner last night. It was so good and smelled so delicious that people at work kept trying to steal it from me.

Reply

I am also a huge chafer, my husband says he is going to get brought in on domestic violence charges one day because i get huge welts around my neck from my camelbak. It's always a surprise when I get in the shower and find out where the damage occurred.

I had a fake turkey sandwich on bread I made myself with spinach, arugula, and banana peppers, with this delicious raspberry mustard I got for Christmas. And an orange.

I have a favorite treadmill and elliptical, and they have no advantage that I am aware of, but they are mine and I get pissed when someone else is on them!

Reply

Once I was running in Lawrence, KS and just suddenly fell on my face…seriously scraped my face against concrete! It was so awful I had to run home with a bloody face. I also scraped up my knees and arm. :(

For lunch today, I had veggie soupy soup, wheat crackers, banana, yogurt, and an orange.

My favorite treadmill is one right by the fan as well! The treadmills are your gym are WAY cool!

Battle Wounds: CHAFING. and blisters on the tops of my toes and side of my feet.. but mostly CHAFING. I never notice it during the run usually, though during my marathon I definitely noticed the odd, tender feeling on my inner thighs. That feeling went away soon afterward when I went numb all over (thank you 30 degree temps). I usually notice when I step in the shower and my chest lights on fire internally and I suppress screams and look down and realize, oh great, another chafing scar.

Lunch: rice with yummy chicken and homemade bbq sauce, carrots, pretzels and cheese, an apple, some almonds, and a clementine

Fav Treadmill: The one at my house! TV right next to it, a little window above it, and no one around me to see me sweat like a pig and spill water all over myself.

Reply

I never feel my toe nail puncturing my other toe, till i take my shoes off and the socks are bloody.

Lunch: funny you should ask, BLT because you asked how i liked tomatoes, this was my answer and then I wanted one. Also had an orange, and some almonds and cashews.

Reply

the full marathon i ran i definitely chaffed around the arms and armpits. and oh my goodness! i sweat like a dude too! oh well, it means i was workin hard, right?

lunch was steamed veggies, buffalo chicken ball thingys, and a muscle milk lite :)

Reply

I am so jealous that your treadmill has a tv.

I lost a couple of toenails last year from trail running, and I've definately had my share of chafing during longer runs.

I took my dad out to lunch today and had veggie chili and cornbread. So good!

Reply

I'm clumsy.

I always fall down and walk into walls.

One time I was at college visiting my boyfriend for the weekend and slipped in the cafeteria on a grape. Food went every where, I fell smack on my face & everyone stared. I wanted to die.

Reply

I got home from the gym the other day, took off my shoes and noticed my nice new Nikes had blood all over the heel. Didn't feel the blister at all. That's the most recent battle wound and it's pretty weak sauce.

Reply

I have more battle wounds than I can count. Face planting while running, tipping over on bikes, blood blisters, layers of skin falling off my feet for no apparent reason. It's pretty great. I never feel it till later, either. I've been running on a broken toe and I don't remotely feel it during the run and as soon as it ends, I suddenly feel the need to amputate my foot.

I had a blueberry luna bar for lunch. That's what happens when you forget to prepare something to bring to school.

Reply

That's funny you had issues with people staring at you with your camera at the gym, because I definately had a photo shoot tonight at my gym too but I didn't give a hoot what everyone thought of me. haha

BTW, I seriously love your blog. You crack me up! And you are the most awesome runner that I know. Well, sort of know. lol

Have a good night :)

Reply

First of all, I am jealous of your gym's treadmills. I might run more if ours had TV's.
No serious battle wounds unless you count breaking in my Newton's. It changed my foot strike so much my calves burned for a week.
No favorite treadmill but I do have a favorite spot in the group workout room. I have serious anxiety if I don't get my spot so I get there 30 minutes before class starts.

Reply

the shower after the chafing is the WORST!!! at my last marathon i thought i had covered all my bases and got away with very little chaffing…then in the shower i actually screamed outloud when the water hit my back. i'd worn a different bra than normal and pay for it BIG TIME. it was awful!

also at the last marathon there was a random wrinkle in my sock and i felt it the entire race. when i took off my shoes and finally got a look at the situation there was a massive blood blister. grossest thing ever!

Reply

I once tripped on a sidewalk while running in the dark. I got road rash on my abs, up my arms, and skinned both knees. I was only 2minutes into my run! I decided to finish since I knew I'd be sore later.

Also, I always chafe under my boobs where the sports bra seams are. It doesn't matter what bra I wear. My poor husband hates it when I have scabs there (yeah, sometimes things bleed).

Lunch was a baked potato topped with organic Trader Joe's turkey chili, cheese and sour cream. 3 hours later, there were also baby carrots with hummus and an apple. Nom nom. 11 miles before work makes me hungry!

I don't belong to a gym. I live in San Diego…there's pretty much no weather to contend with here. Although there are obviously dangerous sidewalks in the dark ;)

Reply

Vaseline works really good to prevent rash and chaffing. Hope that helps.

Reply

Yeah. I call it "stealth chafe." You never notice it until the shower after when all of a sudden… %$#*%!!!!!

Reply

so im pretty sure ive been reading your blog for a few weeks. ijust had a baby and am starting to run and you are so amazing at making me want to run again! oh and we totally go to the same gym…nice maybe one day ill be as fast as you …ha doubt it oh and my favorite tredmill is right next to the only stair stepper there!

Reply

Biggest battle wound: biting it when I failed at my attempt to jump over a knee-height chain, something like 7 miles into my run. I jogged/limped 2 miles home with a bloody knee and elbow. This was one week before my first half marathon. I walked like an old man for 2-3 days after and I had a giant nasty bruise. But I ran my half marathon the next week, pain free!

Lunch: free cheese pizza at work. my team won a contest which got us free pizza. I brought a healthy side salad and pasta w/chicken sausage & veggies, but took the easy and quick pizza. I had meetings all day and the pizza was closer than my office w/my lunch.

Favorite gym equipment: Well, my first favorite is group classes. My second I guess is the treadmill with a tv. The new ones even have fans built in which is awesome, unless you are 5'2" and therefore too short to benefit. :(

Reply

Awwwwww, I totally have favorite treadmills! And types of treadmills. Built in fans are a must. Built in TVs are a must not. They make me motion sick so I have to turn them off… and having a big black box staring you in the face is sooooo not the way I want to run!!

Reply

Oh I love you!! Your so funny!!! I havent had any battle wounds from working out YET!! But I hope to have many!!
Your treadmills are amazing!!! I've never seen such nice ones! The ones at my gym are so old and ghetto!!! You have to just stare in the mirror at yourself the whole time… Sucks!!
I had a shake today for lunch… And now I'm going to eat some chocolate hearts I found at the checkout counter when I went grocery shopping! Yum!!
I swear tomorrow I'm going to try hills!!

I had a bloody SHOE after a half marathon once-rainy race, my shoe apparently scraped off all the skin on the back of my foot and the whole back of the shoe was bright RED! I didn't notice, until my mom started screaming when I turned around. Drama queen.

Reply

i have horrific chafing stories that no one should ever hear about! a few posts ago you posted one of your spin play lists. i added one of the songs to the burn list and now i am obsessed with it – ran 6 miles to that one song on repeat!

I have a favorite treadmill, #20, right in front of the center tv. One day I walked in and this grumpy lady was on the one next to it. I debated, but chose trusty #20 since it was a long run. She immediately informed me that I was rude and didn't know "gym etiquette." Gees.

I tend to always have battle wounds but am currently about to lose my first toenail to a bruised toe. That is part of the marathon initiation, right?

OMG Janae!!! I used to ALWAYS chafe on my back where my tag was! David called it my back tat. There's still a scar there!

Battle Wounds: I have matching knee scars. Once I fell down in wet cement and banged up my knee and once I fell down on the sidewalk! I also get huge blisters on my feet after working out!
Lunch: Chicken noodle soup, half a turkey sandwich and some chocolate for dessert! =D

Reply

Ooh your treadmills are so fancy! That has happened to me before…I'll be running and feel great and then look down and my sneaker will be red with blood from the tiniest cut on my toe. I guess when you are running, more blood flows so you bleed more!

Reply

so many comments to make in regards to this post. first, you inspire me to suck it up and do some hill workouts…but maybe a lesser version bc i'm slower and wimpier ;)

i'm a major klutz when i run. MAJOR. i have memories of running with my dad in Park City Utah and literally tripping over some pebbles. This led to lots of asphalt in my hands and some tears while my dad had to pick it all out. I've also fallen on ice, fallen on nothing, ripped my clothes, you name it. Yikes. Hopefully you feel better about yourself now, ha!

And I totally have "my" treadmill at the gym. I insist on the same one every time. We have a connection.

Have a good day girl!

nice hill repeats, you are killing it!

I'm the queen of battle wounds. I gashed my face open in a bike crash and had 9 stitches across my chin. I got a 3-inch blister during my first Ironman that left a concave hole in the side of my foot that took 6 months to heal. I fell really hard running in Central Park on a bridle path and lacerated my elbow so badly I thought I'd need stitches. I'm covered with scars and damn proud of them! :)

I had the best lunch ever yesterday. Pecan crusted chicken on a giant Jerusalem bagel pressed with cheese, some delicious sauce and tomatoes. It was a fat day lunch and I loved every bit of it!

I have the same sensitive skin. In that picture above how you are all red on your upper chest? That's how I am, and if I have a shirt that goes up to that upper chest area, I will get a raw-chafy-rash that turns into a scab. It's awful. I've gotten way more sensitive lately!

I wipe out anually. I have never fallen on my head though, goodness gracious! that's terrifying! I hope that never happens to you again!

Go hills! hills plus speed though? you're such a badass

Chafing is always a problem for me too. I use Body Glide any time I am running for 30 mins or more. I also get blisters in between my big toe and the index toe. So weird!

Blisters are my biggest battle wound.

but more importantly, I am crazy impressed with that run!! You are inspiring me to not be such a wimp when it comes to the treadmill!!

I spent FOREVER trying to take a photo of myself in a yoga pose (for my blog) the other day. So long, in fact, that I was actually sore the next day from repeatedly holding the same pose. Don't tell anyone.
