Tangents and restraining order…

I bought Brooke shorts to match with me. 11 miles @ 8:25 average.

Don’t be surprised if I get a restraining order placed on me due to the number of pictures I have taken of Clayton Young and Connor Mantz (just Clayton yesterday). I’m so excited each time I see them.

Don’t let anyone ever tell you that oatmeal cookies are not an acceptable breakfast item.

The day ended with a rained out game and Skye falling asleep on the fields!

Now for the tangents of the day:

*I didn’t know the Garmin Fenix 7 had a flashlight on it! You can even set it to blink on and off if you run in the dark so cars can see you!

*Soccer has started feeling stressed with the big kids (the below game resulted in the coach of the other team getting a red card, haha), but I have found if I have something to chew on to get out my feelings, it keeps me in my seat, quiet, and calm (calmer) haha.

*I met Karen (the founder of Lou Lou and Company) at a soccer game. I asked her what she did, and she said she had a company for baby items, and then Beck walked over with his favorite blanket in the world wrapped around him, and she said, ‘Oh, that is one of our blankets.’ Ummm, that is when I realized she has created a massive company that I have loved and bought from for years. I brought Beck home from the hospital in one of her outfits. Anyway, I had a great lunch with Karen and Burgandy, and we talked about all things blogging and social media for hours.

*She sent me home with a new blanket for Beck (the same one as his favorite blanket) and my new favorite blanket, which feels like a treat to wrap myself in. The materials she uses are next-level on every piece she sells.

*Speaking of baby things, we sold our double jogging stroller. I didn’t even think twice about it before they came to buy it. But then, as I watched them walk away with it, I sobbed on the front porch. We are feeling done but seeing the era come to a close is killing me.

*Let’s be honest, though; I really just want to freeze time at this point and continue to happily sleep through the night most nights and laugh with them all day long.

*If anyone has a long treadmill run to do, you should watch the Adizero: Road to Records 2024 Event from Sunday… You will get 4+ hours of some of the best runner’s in the world (and a new world record)!

*You know I am obsessed with my adidas 5″ inch shorts and wear them multiple times a day, if you are wanting a bit longer, the 7″ are currently on sale for $27 and only $14 if you sign up for the adidas club. The run a little big so size down one size. I have hooked so many people on these shorts.

*Time to get some tonsils out!

I will need advice on tonsil removal for a 20 year old. Advice for a 6 yr old is stay ahead of the pain with Tylenol and fluids.

I had my tonsils removed at 25; it’s harder as an adult! Biggest advice I wish I had had is that warm fluids feel better than cold drinks, popsicles, etc. Eating and drinking cold things made it feel like someone was driving nails through my ear drums, but warm tea was so soothing, and being able to hydrate sped up the healing process.

Good luck with the tonsils removal!! I had that done as a kid, I don’t remember much besides missing school and getting lots of popsicles. Hopefully that is the case here too!

Yikes, soccer coach! That’s why cross country in the best. Everyone is happy for everyone!

Good luck with the tonsils! I hope she has a speedy recovery! The sooner those come out the better. It’s a much rougher recovery as you get older.
I get you on the baby stroller. I had a nervous breakdown giving some of my son’s stuff away. There’s a big difference in saying you’re done and then giving everything away because you know you won’t need it anymore. It’s a different phase of life even though it doesn’t look like anything is changing. My second child is going away to school in the fall. She’s the first to actually leave home. I’m pretty sure I’m going to have a nervous breakdown when I pay the deposit tomorrow. She will be fine. I’m not so sure about me.
Have a great Tuesday!

LEE!! I am thinking about you with tomorrow and this next big change happening this fall. You will have to mentor me through this in the future. You are so right… there is such a big difference between thinking you are done and doing things about being done. I hope you have a beautiful day and treat yourself to something fun tomorrow after the deposit.

If I lived in your area, and saw these guys often on the run, I would totally do the same thing. It’s so exciting with the Olympics coming up! My tip… Just don’t get caught, ha ha. But please keep sharing all your pics!
I forgot that Brooke was having her tonsils out. Keeping her (and all of you) in my thoughts and prayers. I have never gone through that.
Our oldest ‘s car is still in the shop, so we’re still doing the “car dance” over here, and I am walking to a lot of places. Hopefully it will be fixed today.
Have a good Tuesday!

Those baby blankets look so cozy but I was gifted about 5 homemade ones at my baby shower a week ago so I have so many already lol. My era of raising kids is just beginning, due in less than 4 weeks. I’m still going to the gym to workout and now everyone asks when I’m due and when I mention about 4 weeks they are impressed and cheer me on to keep working out. I’m much slower and my workouts are not super intense at this point, but just moving my body and getting to the gym feels like an accomplishment.

Keep up with the pain medication! Wake them to give it to them if it’s time for a dose! And don’t be worried if they eat nothing for a few days. Mine didn’t even want the ice cream I had stocked up on.

Please please tell me how you knew/ know you are done?? Just had my fifth baby last week and I kind of feel the same way but I don’t know!

Congratulations on baby #5! That is amazing! Andrew knows for sure he is done hahah so I guess that’s how I know! But really, I am very jealous of people that know for themselves the answer to this question. I hope you get some sleep soon! Thanks, Meg!

Hello Janae,

I’m curious what double jogger you went with? We are pregnant with our second and love our single Thule and think that looks similar to that one!
Thanks!

If she hates the pain medicine we found with my daughter last year to mix it with coffee creamer! Also best idea we had was to take her to the movies one day. She ate a ton of popcorn which helped get her jaw moving and made her thirsty so she drank a lot. Good luck! We found it wasn’t a linear recovery.
