(top, shorts, shoes)

Sleep has not been a thing at our house lately, and there was no way I could get myself out before Andrew left for work, so I went later than normal. I felt like I was heat training and it was only 58° haha.

A few of you recommended that I try this allergy medication, and so far, it has been working like a dream. I don’t feel any side effects from it and it zaps my allergies away. I’m grateful I’ll be able to enjoy the trails this year.

I’ll definitely be avoiding the tall grass that gave me that crazy allergic reaction last year.

When your shoes match the flowers, you have to take a picture.

1200 ft of gain! I’m trying to get in ‘challenge runs’ (this is from my old coach) again the day after a speed workout. The goal of a challenge run is to get on the dirt the day after a hard workout to get in some good climbing. The cardio feels good on these days but the legs burn like crazy.

My nephew watched Beck while I ran, and they had the best time together. I lucked out having the best examples for my kids with their cousins down the street from us.

It was an outside kind of day (again, thank you for the allergy recommendations) so I can be outside with them!

With plenty of popsicles.

The soccer season is almost over so we soaked in one of our last games:

I can retire now that Kara Goucher has liked my reel. Actually, I won’t ever retire, you can’t get rid of me, haha.

When I first started running, I am embarrassed to admit how obsessed I was with her… My past self would have passed out if I knew this would happen someday:

Sara asked yesterday where I’m getting my protein throughout the day now that I’ve realized I was not getting near enough and have bumped it up. So, here is my list of things I’ve been eating plenty of lately:

*Core Power… this tastes like a milkshake to me so it is the easiest way for me to get in a lot of protein first thing in the day.

*Chia seeds (in my smoothie or on yogurt)

*Cottage cheese… I love cottage cheese so much.

*Greek yogurt

*Hardboiled eggs

*Kodiak Cakes (and I use milk and an egg instead of water)

*String cheese

*Beef jerky

*Rotisserie chicken (I hate cooking meat and this makes it so easy for me)

*Fresh cut deli meat (once again, I hate cooking meat haha)

*Almonds

Have any other ideas for ways I can get more protein?

Ever had an allergic reaction?

Have any trails close to you that you love to jump on?

(crop, shorts) The two of us met in 7th grade at basketball tryouts. I didn’t make it past the 1st cut (that stung) and she made the team. Twenty-five years later, I’m still trying to be as athletic as Tawny, haha. Half of us did a workout at the track and half of us did … Continue Reading

(shorts, bra, tank) 9 miles @ 8:26! SHE TURNED THE CORNER. It was her first day back to school after getting her tonsils out. The school had a dance festival and Knox shocked me with his dancing skills. Brooke was back to soccer too! Now for the tangents… *It’s super fun when the asthma kicks … Continue Reading

(shorts, tank, shoes) 7 miles @ 8:43. Andrew is working on Sunday, and so he sent me yesterday for Mother’s Day spoiling… The best massage. I have the best coupons now. Greek yogurt, chia seeds & fruit every day now. The food of the day for Brooke’s throat was rice with massaman curry. Tell me … Continue Reading

10 miles @ 8:37 pace before Andrew went to work and then straight to mom life. One of the hardest parts for Brooke after getting her tonsils out is how hungry she is because nothing sounds good, and everything hurts to eat. I told her we would drive around until she saw something that caught … Continue Reading

(shorts, shirt, shoes) Do you ever just stand there and stare at your running shoes and feel so grateful for how much they have improved (looks and function wise) over the years? I hope I’m not alone in this. They are saying this is our last freeze of the season and it is bringing me … Continue Reading
