HAPPY NEW YEAR and 10 Weekending things.

2024.  I do not understand how or when 2023 disappeared, but here we are!  I cannot wait to spend this year with you (if you let me;) and see what everyone does with their goals in running and in life.  I have a very good feeling about this one for us all!

I just have a few scenes from the weekend to share today!

Most of the trail was clear but we definitely had to tiptoe over some icy patches too.

It was our first long run in a while without a workout in it but more just cruise miles: 18 miles @ 7:32 average.

We grabbed a babysitter and went out for a date on Saturday because Andrew worked for most of New Years Eve.

How I ever thought brussel sprouts were gross as a child… I don’t even know how I could live without these.

We went to church (ummm turns out I wear this black top a lot).

We got in some reading…

And rung in the New Year at Lauren’s house. I love being her neighbor now.

We did the countdown at 8 pm… just my style.

Did you stay up until midnight?

Are you doing your first run in 2024 today?

Happy new year!! We did not stay up until midnight, not my style haha. But we got up and went for a walk while cheering on a bunch of our friends running a race. Perfect rest day after a long run yesterday.

I really want it to be my style haha but it’s not mine either. So glad you had such a fun walk this morning and great job on your long run, Mariah!

We went to a neighbor’s house, too! This is the best tactic for NYE. No need to worry about poor driving conditions or drunk drivers. And you can walk home early if you can’t make it until midnight! I some how made it to midnight. It must have been the wild Settlers of Catan game that we had going.
I plan to get in a run today. I like to wait to run in the winter for peak daylight and degrees.
Happy New Year! Now Spain feels even closer! Wahoo! Also, stoked for how close we are to the Olympic marathon trials!

It really is! I had no desire to be driving around last night. So glad you guys had a great time and midnight… that is impressive. I was with two friends today that are running next month at the trials, should we all go and cheer at the trials, Molly? Have the best day and enjoy some sunshine!

Happy New Year, Janae!

We were in bed by 10:00 p.m. Thankfully our neighbors were quiet this year, so I was able to sleep great and was out the door at 6:00 this morning. 7 miles to start the year!

Happy New Year to you, Kathy! I cannot wait to see the amazing things that you and Les do this year. Way to get in some miles already this year! I woke up at midnight wondering what was happening outside and then I remembered it was fireworks haha. Grateful for you, Kathy!

Happy New Year! I stayed up until almost 1:00, woke up at 8:00, and ran 10 miles in new shoes to start the year! Blessings on 2024 for you and your family!
