Chicken noodle soup for the soul.

(tank, shoes, shorts)

I was at Mer’s house until really late on Wednesday night and so a run a bit later in the morning on Thursday was just what I needed and luckily, Andrew had the day off from work.

Chicken noodle soup for the soul:

EMILEE. This human is something else and the miles flew by and I felt a million times better at the end of the run compared to the beginning.

I’m thankful that running is there for us no matter what we are going through.

She has been doing so many trails these days and I think I’m going to have to follow her lead after these marathons.

It was the perfect loop for basically the exact mileage I needed. I’m taking today off and then I have my last double digit run on Saturday (11-12 miles) before the race.

A peach that tasted too good.

Studio C with the kids and my in-laws.

And a gentle foot rub for Mer. If you don’t hear from me for a few days, you’ll know why.

I am so sorry it took me so long to announce the Core Power winners from this month. I can’t wait to get you your bottles, email me your address so I can get these to you (and if I don’t hear from you I’ll find a way to find you:)

Any weekend plans you are looking forward to?

I know you feel grateful to have had Mer for a grandmother. But remind yourself that she was grateful for having you as a granddaughter.
Since cardinals are supposed to represent a passed loved one visiting you, I always think of my grandma when I see a red cardinal bopping around my house. It brings me joy and comfort.
Thinking of you!

Weekend plans: running and recovering. I made Rice Krispie Treats at 6am today to prepare for 20 miles tomorrow.
And side note, my husband agreed to go spectate Chicago with me! He is the best co-spectator since he can maneuver the city so easily.

Thinking of you during this challenging time. My Grandmother was so important to me. Reflecting back on her last days I told her how much she meant to me and all the reasons I loved her so. Get all of your love out on her during this time. Tell her everything and more. She can hear you. Sending hugs.

The time you are getting to spend with your grandmother is a blessing and a beautiful reminder for your children to cherish those you love. ❤️

Oh Janae… sending you all so much love. These times are so hard. I remember going through this with my dad 4 years ago. Hugs to you all.

Janae, I lost my grandma a year and a half ago and I so feel for what you’re going through right now. Sending so much love your way.

You will never regret spending this much time with Mer in her hour of need. When I was going through this, I learned a valuable lesson: if you can or feel that you should go see her, do it. There have now been two occasions where I went to see a relative (at some inconvenience to myself – late night, cost, I just had gone the other day so is it necessary to go again, etc.) on what turned out to be their last day. I never, ever regretted making that effort. This time must be so hard for you all and I wish your family the best possible way forward through it.

Sending thoughts to Mer and your family.

I just started a new job where we get every other Friday off, so my weekend started today! Went to breakfast, volunteered at the food bank, and running errands. Then a long run tomorrow and family get together with my boyfriend’s family.

Love following your story! May I ask how you hydrate while take Maurten every four miles during the marathon? And is your last gel around like 20? Do you carb load? So many questions but going for a sub 3 at Columbus and trying to figure out the best fueling. And I trust your plan!!! Thank you!

Sending so much love. I’m always grateful for the time I got to sit with two of my grandparents during these difficult moments, and sad for those grandparents I didn’t. Mer must be so happy to be surrounded by such a loving family. Take care, be kind to yourself, and lots of love x
