Snack Ideas that Leave You Feeling Great, First Stroll & Your Goals Do NOT Have This…

Skye went out for her first walk in the BOB and I think she liked it.

Same stroller… different baby.  I wonder how many miles I’ll hit with different babies over the years.  In the below picture Brooke is just a month older than Skye is now.  This day I did 15 miles with the jogging stroller… probably won’t be doing that with Skye anytime soon;)  I am reviewing my own jogging stroller tips again.

First, THERE are so many runners out now around here when I am running.  The weather is perfect so more and more people are out getting their miles in and that makes me happy.

Second, those 5 miles @ 8:48 average pace were hard.  Every muscle in my entire body was tired from my weights class the previous day.  I almost tripped three times during this run because when I am sore my body goes into survival and attempts to avoid lifting my feet.  SO after my third near fall experience (isn’t it crazy how things just go into slow motion when you trip?), I focused on lifting my knees up during the stride even though it was an easy run.  I’m going to be tired and sore at the end of the marathon but shuffling isn’t going to help me to finish strong so I might as well practice now to lift my knees and feet up to get used to it.  I’m not talking about lifting your knees up like a sprinter would but striding forward with them helps me to run more efficiently.. a slight knee lift and short stride is what I’m going for, not attempting to never raise my foot more than an inch above the ground).

IMG 0109

PS if I ever feel like my running goals are so far away and it is going to take forever to reach them, I remind myself of this:

Image result for my goals don't have expiration dates

Then I took Brooke to one of her last days of school.  How she is almost a graduate of kindergarten, I do not know.

IMG 0111

The last few days Andrew’s back has been hurting him.  Then on Tuesday night he was up most of the night in a lot of pain.  My first thought when there is an injury is to go see Dr. Bennett.  I waited until it was a normal time to text someone (5 a.m. haha) and he was so nice to get Andrew in right away yesterday to get him put back together.  He felt much better afterwards but it will probably take a few days until he is 100%.  Back problems are THE WORST.

IMG 0138

I had the same sweet potato based lunch as I did the day before but Andrew came up with something exciting and different for his lunch that he loved.  Yellow pepper, guac, turkey and bacon.

IMG 0140

Yesterday afternoon Skye was pretty fussy unless we were outside.  I’m wondering if she is starting to teethe a bit because that hand or binky is in her mouth at all times.

IMG 0162

She eventually fell asleep in her stroller so we just hung out on the curb for a bit until the kids saw a moth and screamed so loud that it woke Skye up ha;)  You win some, you lose some.

IMG 0157

PS Andrew is always teasing me about my obsession with this water bottle.  My neighbor drove by and stopped to talk… She had the exact same water bottle in her hand from when she had her little girl a few years ago.  I don’t know how they engineered this bottle so perfectly but if you are trying to choose which hospital to have your baby in, this bottle might put Utah at the top of your list;)

IMG 0159

We came in and the kids had apples with peanut butter followed by string cheese.  I looked over and Brooke was dipping her string cheese into peanut butter?!?!  Not sure how I feel about that.

IMG 0168

A good friend of mine sent me a bunch of recipes to use for different snacks. I started with this one for Powerballs!  They are delicious and I’m just going to keep them in the fridge to grab when I need them.  I think part of the reason I snack on junk is just out of convenience so it will be nice to have something to grab really quick to snack on.  Plus they have peanut butter and chocolate chips in them so yeah, that’s a winner.  The perfect snack.

IMG 0171

The recipe called for hemp and chia seeds but we didn’t have chia seeds so we put in these instead:

IMG 0172

Knox had his first T-ball game of the season!

IMG 0176 copy 2

Followed by some park time while we hung out on the grass.

IMG 0173

We had a simple dinner of spaghetti with ground turkey and peas.  Andrew and I mixed our peas right into the spaghetti and our kids thought we were crazy.

IMG 0180

Also, does this happen to anyone else (I edited the below image ha)?  A few days ago my friend was telling me about a baby clothing boutique and I NEVER entered it into my phone or searched for it and then boom… it showed up in an ad?!  It kind of creeped me out.

Have a favorite water bottle?  What kind is it?

Hydroflask for workouts and traveling and cheap hospital water bottle for the rest of life.

Ever had back pain?  Do you know what caused it?  How long did it last?

How about we put together a great list of snack ideas that make us feel great when we eat them so I can just refer back to this post when I need new ideas.

Do you mix your different foods together or do you keep them separated and not touching on your plate?

Phones listen to you, for sure, and then the things you were talking about show up. Creepy? Very. Happened to me, too, and it freaks me out.

Graham crackers and chocolate milk, apples and peanut butter, and hummus and pita chips are some of my favorite snacks.

Reply

I do not like this at all. Let’s all switch over to flip phones again. LOVE your snacks… especially the graham crackers and chocolate milk. That sounds so good right now. I hope you have a wonderful day Loribeth!

Love the snack idea! Need to look back at the nutrition thread. We need to make a group wiki on this!

I’ve been concentrating on lifting my knee for my leg that got injured. It’s important for that to be a natural movement; it’s only from injury or soreness that I don’t naturally lift it, and it makes you so much faster.

“I’m going to be tired and sore at the end of the marathon but shuffling isn’t going to help me to finish strong so I might as well practice now to lift my knees and feet up to get used to it.”

NO MA’AM! This is NOT how we think of ending a marathon!! The end is race time and all smiles! Eat the pain with a smile on!! You EARNED the ability to run for SO LONG at that marathon pace and be able to HOLD, TOLERATE, manage, and USE that pain!! We call it on my team “dropping the hammer”! ? ? ?

But seriously if I ever thought that during a marathon, I wouldn’t be able to finish! In fact I had those types of thoughts during Boston 2018, but the other factors were actually what took me down. Idk how you could ever go into a marathon thinking that!! Take it in BLOCKS— compartmentalize! (I do eight mile chunks.) Shoot girl I run NYCM; you think mid-race or even before hand I think of those last Central Park hilly miles?? No way!! Post mile 22>> survival mode! Anything can happen!

That’s the most wonderful and most terrible part of the marathon: ANYTHING can happen. But you TRAINED to be able to take and USE the pain to go BEYOND! Drop that hammer! Only think of success!

And also that’s what I like about thinking of the marathon in eight mile chunks; three gets you to 24 miles, so you just have to do three parts *and then some*. The “and then some” is the time you’re thinking about being sore; instead, with eight mile chunks, you think “oh, I just have a little more to go,” since it’s nowhere close to eight miles! It makes the end seem so much easier!

Sorry for the rant but I cannot stress this enough! I just couldn’t imagine myself ever being able to run or finish a marathon if I thought those thoughts! Talk about throwing the towel in!! Makes it seem insurmountable, but it’s not!!

Reply

WOW, this was just what I needed to read and something I am taking a screenshot of for my marathon training over the next few months! EAT THE PAIN WITH A SMILE ON! I love it. Sometimes I’m a bit of a realist and think about previous marathons and think about those last miles ha. Love the chunks talk… I’ll think of you when I do that:) THANK YOU and I hope you have a beautiful day!

Reply

Yeah girl!! Look at my NYCM ‘17 pics. Even in Central Park (miles 22-end) I’m smiling. Tbh I’m as proud of that as the time I hit— it was so FUN!

But the main point is— the defeatism is just bonkers! My marathon PB is pretty decent to most people, and I’m telling ya I wouldn’t even be able to finish a marathon if I went in thinking of pain at the end!

Reply

I am going to make some of those powerballs, they look so good!
I love string cheese with pb, so good!
I actually just went to a specialist for my lower back, so I feel Andrew’s pain! My xray was good, thank goodness. The next step is an MRI. I’ve tried chiropractic care, massage, trigger point therapy, yoga, rolling, and stretching. Nothing is working. So frustrating!

Reply

Brandy, I am so sorry you have been having so much pain but SO glad that your xray was good! Keep me updated on how you are doing… back pain is the worst and not having answers is even harder!

Reply

That creepy phone thing has definitely happened to me! My friend and I were talking about something the other day, and then there it was as an ad on Insta. Oy vey!

I’m definitely a food mixer—it makes life more interesting. And I love the maple brown sugar Nature Valley Granola Crunch with sliced banana on top and some Wheat Thins. It’s my go-to and SO good!!

Reply

I do not like it… it’s so creepy! Oh those bars are so good. I’ve never tried the Wheat Thins and banana combo, but everything tastes good with Wheat Thins so I’m sure it is amazing. I hope you have a beautiful day Natalie!!!

The summer Hope was 6 months and I was out of school for the summer were some great running days! We hit the Bob up practically everyday and I ran to various places for breakfast foods, ran that home and ate with her on the patio. Such good memories.

Snacks:
Have already cleaned and cut veggies. Then I love to dip those in hummus, you could dip in guac, or just eat raw of course.
Nuts, cheese, grapes plate. (and if you drank wine, you might be tempted with this snack. ha)
w.a.t.e.r.m.e.l.o.n
Make a little extra at lunch and save it for 3 pm.

Reply

I love that. Best memories ever and I’ll be copying you with the run to breakfast spots. That sounds amazing. Good call on dipping them into guac. LOVE your ideas especially the extra lunch one. Have a beautiful day Erica and tell your people hi for me:)

Janae? Can you explain lifting your knee during the stride? What’s the stride? Is that like the trailing part? I don’t know if I stride. I shuffle and gasp.
I’m debating an impromptu weekend trip (leaving like, now) to Chicago for the 10 mile run, but the weather looks unsettled so I’ll ponder that.
I usually drag a one litre Naglene around all summer but just got a tiny one that fits in my purse (race swag) that I love! Yay useful race swag!
Get well, Andrew. Mr. north-anon gets terrible back pain and I feel so helpless. I have no tips. Hope Andrew feels better, permanently.

Reply

HEY!!! I guess I mean just the motion of when your foot hits the ground until it does again during the run if that makes sense:) I am working on lifting my knee up and forward to allow a bit more power. I will make a video to show what I am thinking because I’m having a hard time explaining ha! TAKE THE TRIP!! DO IT DO IT DO IT!! Thank you so much and let me know if you take the trip:)

Reply

I swear our phones are listening to us 24/7, so creepy!

I feel for Andrew with the back pain. I’ve had 4 major back surgeries and currently have L2-S1 fused but I need another surgery to extend the fusion even further up. I haven’t had a pain free back day in over 12 years and probably never will again (and I’m 31!). Tell him heat, anti-inflammatories, and rest! Also, I highly recommend looking into cupping therapy, it really helps me with lessening back pain, so much so that I bought a kit off Amazon to have it done at home.

Reply

It really is so creepy… it makes me want a flip phone instead and to just carry a camera around with me ha.

Caitlin, FOUR MAJOR BACK SURGERIES. I cannot even imagine. This breaks my heart. My sister needs to talk to you by the way…
Thank you for the cupping therapy tip. Josse (my running partner) does that so I’ll have her do that for him. I hope that your pain is a bit less today Caitlin and please keep me updated with how you are doing!

Reply

Getting a flip phone isn’t a bad idea! ?

As far as my back goes, I just tell myself that it is what it is. You can’t control the cards you’re dealt in life so you just have play your best hand with what you’ve got. That doesn’t mean that it doesn’t get to me sometimes or that I don’t get down about it because I am human after all (though I think I should be considered at least partially bionic by now, haha).

I forget that your sister had (still has?) back issues and had surgery. She seemed to bounce back so quickly after her surgery(can’t deny it, I was envious of how well she seemed to be doing afterwards)! If she’s still having problems and would like any advice or an opinion from a back pain/surgery “veteran”, you guys can feel free to email me or message me on IG (@caitiebella). I’m always happy to help with stuff like that, I know how much it bites.

I’m glad to see on your most recent post that Andrew is feeling better!

Reply

Caitlin, that is so so hard. I cannot even imagine what you have been through. You are bionic! I love your perspective, you are amazing. Yeah, I think Andrew just needed to be adjusted so he is very lucky that it wasn’t more serious. My sister’s back is bugging her a lot again. She was doing so much better for a while but right now it only feels good when she is lying down or walking… sitting down kills her. It makes me so sad. I will definitely have her email you with any questions she has. Thank you Caitlin, that is so nice of you. Keep me updated with how you are doing.

I love my Ello glass waterbottle from target! It has a ribbon that I can hold onto while I walk from class to class as a teacher:)
I had a back injury from college cheerleading (my past life) that was so, so all-consuming. It took a few months of rest to heal up, WAYYYY longer than any running injury I’ve ever had.
My fave snacks right now: Chocolate peanut butter healthy grains KIND bars (great for pre-run), cottage cheese with blueberries, and carrots/cucumber slices with hummus!

Reply

Oh I need to look for those waterbottles next time I’m at Target. Oh that injury sounds AWFUL. I am so glad you don’t have to deal with it anymore. Kind bars are the best and now that I’m allergic to grapes and missing my cc and grapes combo, I’m going to try your cc and blueberries combo. That sounds heavenly! Have an amazing day Kerri!

Reply

They’re totally listening and reading! I was TEXTING a friend about how she wanted her boyfriend to quit smoking. I didn’t look up anything about it and all the sudden a quit smoking ad pops up on facebook.

Reply

I do not like this. That is really scary Amanda!!!!

Reply

I love, love, love my Hydroflask because I like water, but I realllly like it when it’s icy cold!

I DID have a bout of lower back pain last winter. I saw a chiro and went to PT for it, and acupuncture helped a bit. What I feel helped me the MOST was starting to take hot/warm yoga classes. They are magical for my back……and, well, my whole body!

Snacks: Filled Clif bars, apples with peanut butter, Siggis yogurt with granola and unsweetened coconut on top, banana with pb on top and granola. I need more snack ideas! Im printing the Power Ball recipe and will keep an eye on this thread–super idea :)

Reply

HEY JEN!! I am SO happy that your back is doing so much better. I’ll get andrew into a hot yoga class asap. I’m sure that would help him. PS my mom has been getting acupuncture on her wrist and it is helping her so much. Those clif bars are heaven… all of your snack ideas are delicious. Thanks so much Jen and I hope you are having a great morning!

Reply

I would have NEVER thought that cheese and peanut butter would be a good combo. Until I did one of those 2 day relay races… in the van, we made cheese and peanut butter sandwiches. It was the greatest thing ever and I craved this treat for several months after that race :)

I get SO many of Brooke’s fascinations. Maybe this should be cause for concern for me b/c I am 35 years older than Brooke. Hee :)

Reply

Maybe I should try it then… you are making me question it now:) HAHAH that makes me happy Amanda! Enjoy the rest of your day!

Reply

I take my Camelbak water bottle everywhere I go! I find that I drink way less water when I’m not using that water bottle.

For snacks, I love chips and guac, cereal and yogurt, roasted chickpeas (Biena snacks have some great options!), and pita chips or Kashi 7-grain crackers (I’m currently addicted to both – so good)!

Reply

I have never tried roasted chickpeas… all of your snacks sound perfect! Thank you Maria and I hope you are having a great day!

Hi Janae! I have a ThermoFlask I bought from Costco and I love it mainly because it holds like 40 something oz at a time. :) Less refill is always a good thing. Oh my gosh, back pain really is the worst. I had a c-section and can say that personally, hands down, back pain is far worse. At my worst, I was crying out in pain and had tears streaming down my face getting in and out of the bed, in and out of cars, etc. I hurt mine in my early 20’s and have always had problems ever since. About to get another spinal shot next week. Hoping that does it after that. That instagram thing is so scary! I told my husband about that…I have no idea how they do it! Have a great day Janae!

Reply

Marie, I am so so sorry about everything that you have been through with your back. I cannot even imagine. SPINAL SHOT?! How did you hurt it in the first place? I hope that it gets better. You are a strong woman!

Reply

Hi Janae! I’m embarrassed to say it wasn’t anything major. I came back from a weekend trip and instead of taking a couple trips up 3 flights of stairs, I grabbed it all and it just went out. I think just the weight of everything and probably not holding it right. If only I could go back. :) Have a great weekend!

Reply

Hydroflask.

I am not particular about my food touching each other unless it looks completely disgusting.

I love trail mix (with my favourite candy mixed in), kind bars, grapes, anything chocolate

I don’t have a lot of back pain usually or ever. My partner does though, so he gets lots of massages from me lucky guy.

Have a great day!

Reply

You just inspired me to get some trail mix at the store today.. thanks Kristine! I guess I should give Andrew more massages haha! Thanks Kristine, you too!

Those water bottles are the best for when I need to make sure and drink a ton of water. I think it’s something with the straw. I love mine and will keep it as long as possible.

I am the worst snacker. I don’t eat healthy snacks very often. Nobody honestly likes a kale chip, you can’t fool me on that, and if it’s supposed to be dessert-like it better not have seeds hahaha!

Reply

I have never tried kale chips and I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t love them:) Good to know you are obsessed with yours too! Enjoy this beautiful day Jenny!

I swear my phone reads my mind sometimes… I see things in ads on Facebook and Instagram that I have talked about but never looked up and that is just too freaky!
I thought of you this morning because it was 67 degrees and 82% humidity when I went on my run at 6am… and I know how much you don’t like running in heat/humidity! It’s supposed to be in the 90s here all weekend and into early next week (what happened to Spring?!?!) so I know I’m going to have get these runs done early.
I am super picky about food not touching. There are some exceptions but I think I could totally live my life eating out of a tray or plate like kids use with dividers and be so happy to not have food touching.

Reply

HOW DID YOU RUN IN THAT!? 90s all weekend? That is crazy. Drink all of the water this weekend Rhiannon and thanks for thinking of me. HAHAH I need to order you one of those trays:) Enjoy the rest of your day!

Reply

I love my Hydroflasks :) I have a 40oz and a 60oz. It can be really hard to get away from my classroom because I don’t have a prep period so I like to come to work with 100oz of ice cold water, just in case :)

There are some foods like salads and nachos that I love to have all kinds of stuff mixed together, and I think Thanksgiving food mixed together is the best!

Reply

You are so right… Thanksgiving food mixed together is SO good. Ever make Thanksgiving food sandwiches, they are my favorite. You don’t have a prep period… that is rough Marissa! I hope your Thursday has been great so far!

Reply

I get random pop ups after talking about something. It freaks me out!!

I just had a salad with left over hamburger crumbled in it. Lol so that looked gross but was delicious. My daughter was dipping her strawberries in ketchup at a BBQ and everyone was grosssed out.

Hope Andrews back gets better, probably from being a nurse. May need inserts for his shoes he wears to work. I feel like when I taught and stood a lot my back was a mess.

Hydro flask is my go to. But I did try Diet Coke lime ginger and I’m now trying to limit myself to one a day and more water. ?

Reply

HAHA strawberries and ketchup… yeah, I could totally see Brooke doing that too! That’s a great idea to get him some inserts. Thank you Lauren. Oh I have heard the new DC flavors in the cans are amazing… I hope you enjoy one today!

Reply

I have that same hospital mug and I use it every day of my life! Love those things.

I saw a meme (I wish I could post it here) that showed a black and white image of a lady whispering into the phone and it says “people in the 60s/ I better not say that or the government will wire tap my phone”
Then an image of a lady talking to Alexa saying “hey wiretap, do you have a recipe for pancakes?” Hahaha

I have had back issues off and on ever since I had my first baby. Now if i get a flare up I do nothing for a few days until it heals—before I would power through and have issues for months. Back pain is the worst!

Reply

Seriously, they are the best mugs ever! HAHAH I NEED to find that meme… that is hilarious! I’m glad you figured out how to deal with your back pain and to take time off when it flares but I am SO sorry you have had to deal with that. Not okay. I hope your day has been amazing so far!

Reply

Can totally relate to the water bottle obsession! My husband had a hip replaced (and was back running 3 mos later!) & I made sure to nab the water bottle when we left the hospital. Rest assured that if you wear it out they can be found, of course, on Amazon!

BTW, I cannot get over how much Brooke & Skye look alike as babies! Such cuties ; )

Reply

Your husband is amazing, I am so happy he was able to get back running so soon after. HAHA yes, I’m so glad you grabbed a water bottle. I didn’t even think of looking on Amazon. I will be ordering another one. Thanks Fran and I totally agree about the girls. Have an amazing rest of your Thursday!

Reply

Hi! So this is pretty unrelated, but I know you’ve talked a lot about chafing in the past both while pregnant and not pregnant. I’ve never had to deal with chafing before, but now at 13 weeks pregnant
my armpits are now chafing so badly when I workout. I’ve bought new better fitting sports bras (why are good ones so expensive?!) to accommodate the growing I’ve experienced in my chest, but nothing is helping! Any tips? Thanks!!

Reply

Stephanie! CONGRATS on your pregnancy, I am so excited for you. Yes, the chafing is terrible during pregnancy. The only thing that I have found to truly work for me is to rub dove deodorant all over the areas where I chafe before I head out. The deodorant makes it so that I never chafe anymore… it’s amazing. I put a ton of it on too so don’t skimp. Try it and let me know if it works for you too. I hope you are feeling well!

Reply

Thannks, feeling so so tired but that’s starting to improve finally :) Thanks for this tips I’ll give it a try. Chafing is the absolute worst! Have a great weekend!

Reply

Glad you are starting to not feel so tired! Keep me updated! Thanks and you too!

I for sure was that kid dipping my string cheese in peanut butter! Not to worry she’ll still grow up “normal” ;)
I’ve been super into the snack game lately and love these options that are all available to order online! Filling, healthy, and SO convenient!! https://areweadultsyet.com/2018/04/05/whole30-snacks-that-you-can-order-online/
Have a great rest of your week!

THANK YOU Laura for the snack list… I LOVE RX bars. Hahaha glad she will grow up normal. Thanks so much Laura, YOU TOO!

I had to jump in to say I still use both of my hospital cups too … and they are 17.5 and 14.5 years old!! I’ve replaced the straws with nice stainless steel ones, but other than that they are my favorite way to get in 32oz! I even ordered spares off of ebay a couple of years ago, but haven’t seen any lately on there.

Reply

This makes me sooooo happy! They are seriously the best. I’m going to get some nice straws too! I hope you have a beautiful day Melissa!

Reply

BOB? What’s that?

Reply

BOB is just a brand name if strollers designed to be used while running

Reply

I have a hydro flask too and like it but gosh it’s so heavy and clunky!! I have a skinny Swell bottle i can keep in my purse if I need to be out and have some water.
I’m curious what kinds of water bottles do you use for your kids? We’ve used camel bak kid water bottles for awhile.

There are certain apps on your phone, where if the microphone is turned on, it DOES listen to you and show you ads that way! Especially FB and IG, which my microphones are turned on for so I can post videos! So weird!

Reply

I do not like this at all! Thanks for sharing this with me Kylie, I was wondering how it did this. Have a beautiful rest of your day Kylie!

Reply

I noticed some apps included in the most recent Microsoft updates to my laptop have the mic on. I noticed this as I was adjusting the settings for these apps. I’m not sure I want to uninstall the apps, yet. So, they’re implanting these with potentially necessary apps. With all the comments here, there’s got to be a movement soon. Zuckerberg testified to the EU this week. So, if the US doesn’t move, others will.

Reply

My coworker was talking to me about how that happened with her. So we have this display of chips at our store that we apparently normally have over near deli, but because they are on sale we have them set up near customer service for the week. She noticed the display yesterday and when she got home and went on Instagram there was an ad for it. She thought it was so weird. Haha.

Reply

That is NUTS. It is too weird!! Thanks for sharing Kourtney, good to know I’m not alone. I hope you are having a great day!

Reply

Flip phone, yes. The term smart phone… is it smart for us? Not really, not enough. How about some smart privacy settings?

Would like to input for Andrew’s back, however, I don’t feel like there’s enough information. Wait, we do have the picture of his reclined position the other day. I could key off it, but there could be more. Posture throughout the day. Gait. Posture when running. Form during strength training. Need more input.

Reply

YES to being sure my phone is listening to me!!!! That happens to me! Did you see this?https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/tech-news/little-did-she-know-alexa-was-recording-every-word-she-n877286

I don’t have Alexa, but I have Apple stuff all over my house. Definitely a a little creepy! If anyone hears my conversations it’ll be a lot of bad singing, goofy conversations with my 4 year old, and me talking about everything to my 7 month old. They probably won’t listen long ;)

Reply

So sorry about Andrews back, thats the worst! Maybe try yoga once a week, or just some cat cows, twists and childs pose a few mins before bed?

For snacks I love popcorn cooked in coconut oil, 1/2 avocado sprinkled with seasoning, smoothies, roasted sweet potato chips with a cauliflower cheese sauce and raw veggies with hummus. Now I’m hungry!

Reply

We are definitely being watched! My husband bought me a Tiffany necklace for our anniversary and somehow the matching earrings showed up in an ad on my FB page the next day. I had texted my mum a photo of the necklace but that’s it. SO SCARY! Also, I love the PB&cheese combi, I used to make sandwiches with peanutbutter and cheese! YUM!
I’m weird with when I do like my food being mixed together and when I need to have things separate, it really depends on what I’m eating.
Snack idea’s: small bowl of cereal, fruit & a cookie, mueslibar, hardboiled egg on a cracker with some tomato sauce, yoghurt + fruit, trail mix, cup-a-soup

Hello, I just completed my marathon this past Sunday. Didn’t go as planned. I thought of you and things you’ve said about racing and thoughts on thinking positive during my race. So I’m thinking of doing another in fall. What marathon plan do you like best?

Reply

My husband works in digital advertising and YES your phone, and most other devices, in your home are listening to you and feeding you ads that way. He even sets up ads based on your location. So for example, you drive within 1 mile of a Ford delership and they can feed you ads for Honda based on that. The other day I went in Toys R Us to check on I the close out sales (which are not worth it) and never spoke a work about it but it was feeding me Toys R Us ads by the time I got home because I had entered their circle. It still creeps me out even though I know how it works!

Reply

Phones listen to you! it has happened to me so many times, one time I was watching a movie and they kept repeating the word “kayak”, and then I got an IG notification about an account about kayaking!

Reply

Nice snack ideas. I like your idea of making the ball by adding the peanut butter in it as it is loved by children. I usually grind all the dry fruits and add honey to it so that it remains intact after making small balls of it. This is very healthy and my daughter and her friends love it. Keep sharing such yummy snack ideas.

Reply

i just posted a link to an article about how our phones are listening! it’s not just in our heads (and it’s kind of creepy!).
