My mom is back home now and we spent most of the day with her! She was at my brother’s hospital for the last little bit and now she will be wearing a heart monitor to see if the heart problem that she was born with (she had surgery on it right after Brooke was born) had anything to do with the eye stroke.
We can’t thank you enough for your prayers and thoughts. You guys are such a huge support for me and I am incredibly thankful for you all. I know you can tell that my mom is quite an incredible woman even from the little snippets that I include about her on the blog.
-Last night I came across this ‘choose faith over worry’ sign and it was like I was meant to walk by it. I’ve got to stop worrying obsessively and have faith in God’s plan and do whatever I can to help my mom right now.
I have some pictures from earlier on this week I thought I would share today.
-My marathon shoes arrived in the mail (PureCadence 4s) and I am excited to get in a few miles on them before the marathon.
-Brooke and I made some sugar cookies for my brother and his family. We used a copycat recipe of Swig (a popular cookie place in Utah) cookies and they tasted pretty darn close to the real thing.
-I doubted this bread before I tried it and then I tried it and wanted eight more loaves afterwards.
-Still loving gymnastics.
-Love this quote from Amy Hastings on the brooksrunning instagram. I’ll be using this one on October 3rd.
-Loved this one from Runners World too:)
-My friend is in Hawaii and sent me this picture of her donut with vanilla gelato, chocolate hazelnut sauce and roasted macadamia nuts. I asked her to bring me one home so let’s see if she does.
-Her first two-wheeler! Helmet was put on right after picture:)
-Any day she has gymnastics = she falls asleep in my arms a bit later. I’m okay with it:)
-Shared a salted caramel/sprinkles/brownie Coldstone because when I am stressed/worried I tend to eat as many grams of sugar as possible (see above sugar cookies too….)
-Aladdin is the current favorite that we read 8 times before bed.
-The best way to smell a candle:
PS thanks again for all of your sweet comments/emails/facebook messages etc. It means the world to me.
