I have been pretty nervous about whether or not I would get into the St. George Marathon this year. They do a lottery most years for the race but EVERYBODY got into the race this year. If you remember from last year, I fell in love with this race and I can’t wait to get back there this year.
I’m ready to keep up with my strength training in order to get strong, train on hills and the trails like crazy, do the speed work, recover, run easy when I need to and stay as injury free as possible. Time to get that sub 3 hour marathon that I have been chasing after for 5 years now.
St. George, I’m going to own you this year. Thanks.
I really like mornings that involve both of these pairs of shoes. I taught a 45 minute spin class (the microphone is still broken so that was fun) and then did 3 treadmill miles.
Brooke got to talk to her dad on the computer while I was gone and then I cradled her like a baby because the whole growing up thing is happening way too fast.
She also had a race with my dad around the track (**what she calls the rug).
My sister had her second epidural shot into her spine today… she is still in crazy amounts of pain. She is seeing all of the right specialists etc but things just haven’t improved yet. Brooke and I are being chauffeurs for her kiddos until she gets feeling normal again.
I took the girls to lunch (at some point I will shower and get out of running clothes) and we started with chips with salsa. I will never ever get sick of Mexican food. I still can’t come near Thai or Indian food… it’s been over a year since I got Giardia while in Thailand and vowed to never come near that food again… I am sticking to that vow. How’s that for a tangent?
Caramelized onions and green chilis just take salads to the next level for me.
The girls were given ice cream sandwiches once they finished their meals. Lucky ducks.
Off to a tea party in Brooke’s room with the girls. I’ll see you in the morning!!
Who else will be running St. George this fall? Anyone running Chicago this year? What other fall races are people signing up for?
What type of food will you never get sick of?
Spicy foods/salsa—> yay or nay?
How many different pair of shoes have you worn today?
-So far two, spin shoes and running shoes.
