I left the house one time yesterday.
My mom picked us up to get the one thing that actually sounded good to my sore throat and we ate it in the car. Added bonus—> I need all of the anti-oxidants that I can get.
I had the Brazilian Acai Bowl (from Aubergine) and it was everything I could ask for. I have a feeling that this is going to be a new expensive habit.
When I first told Brooke that I wasn’t feeling well she rushed into her room to get her doctor stuff so that she could fix me.
There was one other thing that sounded good and that was a big bowl of TJ’s Minestrone Soup. This stuff always hits the spot.
And just because.
What I was supposed to do yesterday and what I most definitely did not do yesterday:
The work for Boston has been done and at this point my biggest job is to get my body feeling better and strong and pushing myself when I am sick would do the opposite of that. Missing one workout (I don’t want to make it up next week when it is so close to the race) in an entire training cycle is a-okay with me and especially when it is during the taper and I should be resting like a champ.
You know you have the best running friends when they bring you a drink and fritter because you missed the Saturday group run. Thanks Rachelle!
A few people have asked for my bib number to follow along so here it is:
I have been studying this mile by mile elevation chart like crazy! Mile 1 (-130 ft), 16 (-100 ft) & 22 (-80) are going to feel really good.
I also love the course comparison! My goal is to hit up all five of these at some point. Also, WOW… Chicago is a flat course!
Special thanks to the Brooke for being okay with being lazy with me all day in bed and on the couch. She is a trooper.
Who has done any of the above marathons mentioned? Boston, New York, Chicago, Berlin, London? Who wants to join me in doing all 5?
Three things that you are doing today?
Ever had an acai bowl? What did you think? Where did you get it?
