A photo each hour and last week’s workouts!

I really love Sundays because they are extremely relaxing and most of the day is spent with my family.

I thought it would be fun to take a picture at some point during each hour of the day.  Here we go:

In the 7 o’clockish hour (it burns to open my eyes within 5 minutes of waking up.  PS you couldn’t pay me to not wear my hair up in a big bun when I sleep… hair in my face is no bueno while I sleep).  PS my eyelashes are very fake.

10 a.m. My parents randomly came over (yes, I was still in pajamas) and we watched American Ninja Warrior together because we love that show.

11 a.m. I decided to finally get ready for the day.

IMG 7278

12 p.m.  Eat a not-so-attractive looking snack of yogurt, almond butter and grapes as I walk to church.

IMG 7231

1 p.m. Stare at adorable pictures of a puppy off of my friend’s phone.

IMG 7233

2 p.m. Get really excited because I found some candy in my purse.

IMG 7234

4 p.m. drive to my parents’ house and love that I still have my parking spot in the garage even though I don’t live there anymore.

IMG 7235

5 p.m. Change back into pajamas and get some major drawing accomplished.

IMG 7236

6 p.m.  Eat dinner with the family and the main star of the show was this incredible cornbread.

IMG 7239

7 p.m. Catch my sister sneaking into my mom’s office to start eating cupcakes.

IMG 7247

8 p.m. A dance party where Brooke did her first dip.

Last week’s workouts:

I do some sort of core work (lots of planks lately) for 5-10 minutes and my one-legged squats every day.

Monday:  6 miles on the road + 4 miles on the treadmill.

Tuesday:  About a mile on the trails in SLC doing a film thing.

Wednesday:  11 miles on the treadmill @ 7:51 average pace.

Thursday:  20 minutes stairclimber and 40 minutes elliptical.

Friday:  21.3 miles!!! 7.7 on treadmill (8:05 pace) and the rest on the trails around a 9:10ish pace.

Saturday:  Woke up feeling great (running on trails = my body feels so much better) and so I decided to run 3 treadmill miles (8:34 pace).

Sunday: OFF

Mileage= 46.3—>  my happy spot.

Just ran an easy 6 this morning. No labor day plans other than getting my kids ready to start school wednesday! Lots of last minute stuff I’ve been putting off. I agree that Sundays with family are the best :)

Reply

I have to work today but am hoping to have lunch with my coworkers to make the most of it!

No run today as I’m taping for my next half Sunday. I’ll be doing 4 miles tomorrow though :)

Reply

I love PJs. I need to get 4 in today. I am way too comfy sitting on the couch

Fantastic runs this week, especially your surprise 20+ miler. :) I’m glad I’m not the only one who immediately changes out of “real” clothes into pajamas/stretch pants when I get home. I’m taking today as a rest day from running because I’m working allll day–scheduled for 10.5 hours. I do get an extra day off later this week to make up for the long day, so it’s worth it!

Reply

I havent been feeling running lately so I have been sticking to cross training at rhe gym but that needs to change today! Maybe I need to change it up a bit. Seems like if you can run over 40mi a week I can at least get out and do a 3 miler or something.

Heading home from weekend away with our family. What an amazing time, wish it didn’t have to end.

My SIL and I had a tough hilly run Saturday and ran stairs of a lighthouse yesterday so taking a much needed rest day.

Labor Day plans – work (where I am now). Then hang out at home and relax. Six miles on tap today, will have to be treadmill miles this afternoon as I have no tolerance for running outside in the 85+ degree day we will be having today! Hopefully a good strength workout will be in store as well!

Have a wonderful Labor Day! :)

That physicians formula makeup is my absolute favorite bronzer. I found it in high school and will never look back.

Your week of workouts looks really solid Janae. I’m glad you could get everything you wanted and needed. I swam this morning which was an interesting and nice change from not working out for just over a week.

Reply

I ran 10km yesterday — the farthest I’ve run in probably two years! So I’m taking today off from running :)

Reply

Wait did they show Kims wedding last night? I watched the show, but it cut off right before the wedding. Good thing E! repeats their show a zillion times in case I missed it.
Yesterday I lifted weights for 1 hour then treadmill run 5 miles. It was slow but that’s what injury does to you. It’s funny how our bodies don’t forget after taking a break.

Reply

My legs are really exhausted from the running I did the past few days, so it’s a rest day for me!

Reply

The picture of the baby Dachshund made my morning! I have a Dachshund that is the same color/pattern, except he is longhaired.

Reply

No running today, taking a little break.

Going shopping for a new mattress.

Doxie’s rule, proud Doxie mom here!

Reply

Cross training today and then getting in one last pool day.

Sundays are the perfect day for relaxing! I ran 5 miles yesterday after teaching my Insane cardio class, and today I’m back at teaching so no running. Plans for the day aren’t many. Hoping to get some things done around the house!

Reply

Love family days. I watched the Kardashians too. I kinda didn’t like her dress :/ I was planning on hiking today but it’s pouring down rain here! Have a great labor day!

Reply

Mmm cornbread! Today is my off day, time to get in some strength training :)

Reply

I want to run, but did the past 3 days so wondering if I should just cross train.
Getting organized for first day with kids tomorrow.
Grocery shopping and prepping food for the week . (I actually love doing this)

Reply

Aw, Brooke was waiting to say the prayer? I wish our family has made meal time something special like that. :) You should get her to say the prayer!

Reply

Little B waiting for prayers is the cutest! Also, ANW is the best. I want to try the course just for fun. :) And Kardashians are definitely my guilty pleasure. As in I’ll watch reruns when I work out at home sometimes. Don’t judge haha.

I’ve been all about the planks and core work lately. It’s definitely helping my posture, so I guess that means it’s worth it!

Reply

I ran a quick 4 when I woke up and now I’m getting ready to host brunch! Cinnamon rolls, quiche, and french toast are one the menu :) I love the photo an hour idea.. I’ve been wanting to do that but I always forget!

Reply

Candy in the purse = JACKPOT.

I was going to run first thing this morning, but I slept in a little, and am now doing some strength training before meeting a friend to go to the movies! If I get time for a run tonight, that’d be great, and if not NO biggie! That’s what I love about holidays! :)

Also seeing that cornbread makes me SO excited for fall, it’s my fall carb of choice!

Reply

That’s a good week of training!

Reply

Wow that is a great week of training! I also do some kind of core work every day. Now its just become a habit! I did an easy 6 miles this morning but it was gross and humid out. I’m not used to that after a few weeks of really nice weather. I’m also planning to do a little shopping today because I went through all my clothes over the weekend and threw out a ton of stuff (so I made room for more:)) Hope you guys have a great day!

Reply

Awesome training!
My little ones just started saying prayers on their own and it’s the best ever! Wait til Brooke can do that and you will melt/laugh at the things she thinks of to say :)

Reply

Church at noon? That sounds brilliant! Our services are generally around 9 or 10 in the morning so Sunday morning tends to be a little more rush-to-get-ready. I remember going to a church that started at 11 once, that was nice.

No run today. Lifting, laundry, and lounging by the pool.

Reply

I completely forgot the kardashians was on last night but I’m kind of glad I didn’t remember. I always feel like a little piece of my life is wasted every time I watch, lol.

Reply

Kardashians is already loaded up on the DVR for me to watch while my husband goes to run – my run isn’t til later!

Reply

We have been busy all weekend. I am looking forward to relaxing today.

Reply

What a great family day! I envy how close you are with your family, especially your sister (I’m an only child).

Our Sunday was pretty low-key as well and involved plenty of couch time. My sun recently resurrected his old Nintendo DSi so we have been taking turns trying to beat Bowser. Super adult-ish. LOL!

Reply

Making a cake for my grandmother’s birthday. She turns 89 today!

Reply

love that dog! i always have random things in my purse= treasure ;)
ps how do you tke off your makeup at night without ruining your lashes? also do you have to sleep on your back so they dont get crumpeled? cold showers so they dont melt?

Reply

I didn’t get to my long run (if you call it that since I’m tapering and it’s only 6 miles) this weekend so I’m heading out to do it shortly. Then I think I might actually do some stuff around the house…. like clean it. LOL

Janae your speed never fails to amaze me. I wish I could run 10 miles at under 8min/mile! Sigh… It’s a goal of mine. You’re my running hero.

Reply

I’m doing some freelance work today and might do a short run or bike ride later. I hiked for hours yesterday and feel a bit lazy today.

Reply

Great training week! You always motivate me with the type of workouts and mileage that you do!
Labor day plans: cleaning (boo!) and then taking my daughter to the movies once she finishes studying (her “labor”)
Monday is my rest day so no running but I plan to do either yoga or pilates today :)

Reply

I want to see Kim’s wedding too, but I feel like every time I turn E on they either are leading up to playing it and I don’t have the time to sit around and wait, or they just played it. The Kardashians is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine. I don’t watch it all the time, but I can definitely get sucked in to it when it’s on!

Today on the agenda is a family BBQ and a 5-mile run :) So happy to have this schedule instead of the normal Monday one!!!

Reply

Low key Sundays are the best! We had a nice day of relaxation and family time yesterday too. It was perfect!

No running for me today. I’m working on some extra rest this week!

Reply

Janae, do you get regular adjustments or go to the PT or massage therapist with your running or are you just luck enough to stay strong with your core and strength?

Reply

Haven’t decided if I’m running or not…it’s not in my marathon schedule maybe just some lunges and arm ab work later. Going to take my kids to friends pool. Then back to tues school for kids and me making lunches.
Had a great weekend BBQing with friends and staying home all weekend.

Reply

Great Day!!full of nice things!
Yesterday I ran 15 kms and them, I went to take a bath in the atlantic see, it was perfect!

Looks like a great Sunday! Love American Ninja Warrior!!

Reply

Um, that was adorable.

Labor Day plans = chocolate-chip pancakes (check), Simpsons (in progress), take the girls to the park (if it’s not still raining), spin (45 minutes), chill before first day of school teaching P.E. for me (first day ever!).

Reply

That looks like a great workout week! I’m so jealous of all the running, especially on trails!

I couldn’t run yesterday (pulled glute was too sore for speed), so I did 30 mins of kettlebell and walked 5 miles. Managed to run a slow 7.5 today, so that’s progress!

We are headed to the pool for the last day of summer vacation and then getting ready for School Tomorrow!

Reply

I was wondering if you could share your favorite post – run stretches, especially for tight hips.

Reply

YES!!! Great idea! I will do that this week:) I hope you are having a great day Grecia!

Reply

Running 7 miles and working today! I am also going to check out a Lulu lemon gym bag that is crazy expensive but might be crazy worth it! :)

Reply

I’m suppose to be running right now but I’m procrastinating! My son is down for his nap so I’m hitting the treadmill for an 8 x hill workout, probably covering 6 miles but we’ll see :)

My husband is working on the farm today so it’s really not a holiday around here! I’m thankful for the beautiful weather though and feel a little ridiculous for running on a treadmill when it’s this nice out. Oh well, I need to get in hills somehow.

P.S. I need to try those chocolate chip banana pancakes!!! that is a wonderful tradition.

Reply

What a cute post! I love the one picture per hour, also love the picture of Brooke having her first dip :)

I woke up early today and got a nice short run in before the sun got too hot. It was a bit of a struggle after tailgating all afternoon yesterday, but I am so glad I got it done! The rest of the day has been pretty laid back, until the whole family comes over for dinner in a few hours. Taking the rest while I can get it!

Have a great rest of your Labor Day!

Love the picture of preggo sister stealing the cup cakes :)

Reply

Such a fun post idea! That cornbread really makes me excited for cornbread and chili weather! :) Not that I’m ready for summer to be over, but you know. It’s inevitable eventuallyyyyy. I got in my morning workout of spin bike and lots of burpees- they were KILLER!

I love the hourly pic idea…so cute!
I raced a 10k and then a 5k followed by brunch with some incredible run friends!

Reply

So far I have spent 7 hours in the car driving home from my boyfriend’s family’s lake house, eaten pizza and watched Top Gun. I’m trying to convince myself to get some laundry done and change for a run. We’ll see how that goes…

Reply

Love Kardashians and not afraid to admit it lol…Today I ran a five mile race down by the beach followed by lunch with my son and his friend and then took them to the movies and sat by myself because they asked me to. I hope they realize how cool am I for doing that lol.

Reply

Today has been fun. We are having two birthday celebrations. The lunch one had s’mores cupcakes and tonight’s will have yellow cake with fudge frosting. The house smells so good right now :)

Reply

I can’t wait until KUWTK is on Netflix again – it’s my guilty pleasure too! Love them. Those cupcakes look amazing annnnnd now I want one. I had two pieces of banana bread with chocolate chips though so that’s a decent replacement ;)

Reply

Strained my calf :/ so no running for a few days! Maybe I should warmup/cool down and stretch occasionally, or get really ambitious and di some core work or strengtg training. Haha.

Reply

Wow sorry about those typos. Strengtg training sounds wayyyy too intense for me.

Reply

I didn’t run today… It was a cross training day. But I’m doing speed work tomorrow!!

I really liked this photo an hour thing, it seems fun =).
