Hello from NYC!!!

Just popping in to say hello!!!  I spent the afternoon exploring the city with Catie and Anne!

I know you were all wondering so I just have to let you know…. I had my NYC bagel.already.  All is right in the world again.

Yes, my shoes are off in this picture.  Turns out that walking all over NYC hurts your feet when you are wearing uncomfortable shoes.  Should have worn my PureFlows.

Off to an event with Brooks.  Talking about running shoes/apparel all night… I think that sound just about perfect.

See you in the morning everyone and I hope you eat a bagel soon because they taste really good.

That bagel looks delish, just in time for my afternoon snack cravings to kick in. How can I get my hands on a bagel?? Can’t wait to see more photos from your trip!

I had a bagel this morning…. But I’m pretty sure yours was better. ;) mine was panera

Where did you get that bagel? I will be in NYC in 9 days for the marathon and can’t wait for the good food.

Reply

I echo Bethany’s sentiments. Headed there for the marathon, and would love the food scoop!

Mmmmm bagels are the jam! Enjoy NYC! <3

Have a great time! I love bagels – I only eat them the day before a race, it’s the biggest highlight of the training cycle ;)

Reply

oh my GOSH New York bagels are what my dreams are made of!

Reply

Eat ALLTHEBAGELS! Have fun, Janae!

That tan scarf is my jam! And the bagel doesn’t look too bad either ;)

Love your outfit! And bagels. Especially with bacon, egg & cheese.

Have an awesome time in NYC, girl! I haven’t been since I was a tiny little thing and I’d really love to go again.

When we travel to NYC, I eat a pumpernickel bagel for breakfast every. single. day. New York bagels are the BEST!

Have a great time in NYC!

Sounds like you have an amazing evening planned! I’ll spend my evening living vicariously through you if you don’t mind:)

Hey Janae! Just wanted to let you know that (because of your opinions) I bought my first pair of Brooks PureFlows 2. I LOVE them! I was a hardcore Nike fan before but these are the most comfortable shoes I’ve owned to this date! I can’t wait to wear them in my upcoming races: Regional XC, a 15K and a half marathon :)

Reply

Nice. I’ll be there in 12 days for the marathon.

I think that it is kind of lame that you flew across the country for one night- because I guessing that it wasn’t your own money for the plane ticket? So some other company paid for you being able to do that and that is kind of ridicolous. If you want to take free bees from all these companies, you just have to take the good with the bad and deal with not being at home.

Reply

Actually, if the companies are willing to pay for it (and how do you know for sure that they did?) then she obviously doesn’t have to take the bad with the good. :)

Reply

And it’s of importance to you because……? And who or what is she hurting? She was not in NY, close, but not there.

Reply

Free bees? Yikes, sounds a little dangerous!

Reply

Mind your own business. If you don’t like it , don’t read this blog…your jealous

Reply

Jane’s comment was ridiculous but yours kind of is too. Just because someone has a different opinion from you doesn’t automatically mean they’re a jealous hater.

Reply

Wow that sounds like the perfect night to me as well!

Enjoy and have fun in NYC!!

If you get the chance, try a cookie from Levains.. it’s on the upper west side of Manhattan and it is worth a special trip. Best chocolate chip cookie I’ve ever had, and I’m a cookie snob so I don’t say that lightly!!

Reply

I am #jealous of your bagel ;)

I’ve never been to NYC and I might (quite possibly) be the only person in the US to not have any desire to go there. Totally not my scene! Haha! have fun!

Reply

I was in NYC all last weekend! We just missed each other! Have so much fun!

Reply

Funny, I was just writing a recap of my marathon this weekend and I was complaining about how difficult bagels are to chew and swallow after a marathon. I love them, but I really cannot eat them after a long race. Glad you got a good bagel today!

Reply

Enjoy your trip!!! I’m super jealous of all the cool things you’ve been up to :-)

Reply

I’ve always wanted to go to NYC. I’m going to get there one day.

What kind of bagel is that?

I want to go to NYC again! I totally took it for granted when I went and now I realized what I missed out on. I didn’t even eat a bagel!! Have a grat time at the conference :)

Reply

Hooray! Make sure you stop by Magnolia Bakery for a yummy cupcake! You won’t be sorry!

Reply

That bagel looks amazing! Fresh made bagels are always so much better than the ones they have in stores

Just like cupcakes and pie.

Hope you are having fun!

So jealous of your bagel! Being from NY and pregnant, a real NY bagel with cream cheese has been one of my cravings. I tried to order some to have shipped out here, but shipping was $80. Looks like I’ll have to wait til the holidays.

Reply

Yay welcome to NYC! There is nothing like a NYC bagel.. depending on where your hotel is, my favorite is Pick a Bagel on 54th and 8th in my old neighborhood. I’m getting hungry again just thinking about that place. Enjoy NYC!

Reply

Enjoy NYC!

Reply

Oh my gosh, that bagel. Have such a fun time!

Reply

Welcome!! Can you believe that I’ve lived in NYC for 4 months already and still haven’t tried a classic New York bagel? You’ve been here a few hours and already beat me :) Hope your trip is a great one!

Reply

I hate to admit it….but I eat a bagel almost every day!!!

Reply

haha I had a bagel for breakfast this morning, and you’re right. It tasted really good. BUT it wasn’t a New York bagel. Apparently, those in the know say that NY Bagels are way better. I’ll test that theory some day ;) Have fun in NY!!!!

Yay! I live in NYC! There is clearly no shortage of great things to do/see/eat here, but I have one recommendation: Have you ever had Ramen? (not the pre-packaged college dorm room kind, but the real thing). It’s AMAZING and perfect for cooler weather (although I did also eat it during the summer).

If you have time, I highly recommend trying it! Totto is delicious but a super long line to get in. Momofuku is also delicious and easier to get a seat. (And there are so many others, of course, but these are two of my personal favorites).

I really need some new shows though and I keep thinking of trying Brooks bevause of your recommendation!

I would just like to point out: Not all bagels are good. Nope.

Reply

hope you’re having a blast in NYC!!! =)

Columbus Circle! I live three blocks from there, so wish you were able to have a blogger meet-up. Next time!

Reply

Was the bagel from Murray’s? If not, you must try theirs before you leave NYC!

Reply

Is it just me or does that bagel have an angry face? The raisin eyes seem to be glaring at me! haha :)

Reply

Mmm yes east coast bagels are the best!
