BYU Wins and 24 Miles

Good morning my loves!! I am out attempting a 24 miler, get excited for some awesome pics.

Us crazy Utah Bloggers (Megan, Ashley and Julia) hit up happy hour at Yogurtland:)  Yep, my friends are gorgeous and I did crop my arm off because it resembled a long marshmallow (hopefully I am getting some rays out on the run today).

I don’t even know what happened with this bowl of ice cream.  I think I got a sugar buzz from sampling a million flavors and next thing I knew it I was at the cash register with EVERY single topping they offered in my cup.  It was the best cup of yogurt I have ever had.  Be prepared for a full-on review of my new FAVORITE yogurt joint.

We ended up watching BYU beat some team (I honestly can’t remember) and I made a delicious/super easy dinner for Billy and I at my parents house.  This would be a grilled cheese, chicken, sourdough sandwich. Plus 87 wife points for this work of art.

Off for my LONG RUN…..I am kind of scared of this one for some reason.  Pain is temporary, quitting is forever.

———————————————————————-

Anyone done a bracket for March Madness?  Who are you routing for?

-BYU ALL THE WAY.

Do you like sourdough bread?

-I didn’t used to as a kid but now I LOVE it…..especially when the crust is super crunch and the inside is doughy!

What food do you make that scores you husband/wife/bf/gf/fiancee points?

-Snickerdoodles, chicken puffs, tacos, bbq chicken, egg sandwiches and now grilled cheese sandwiches.

What is your Saturday workout?

I wish we had fro-yo places around here… just have good ole DQ. Which is delicious by the way.

My Saturday workout is a 4-mile race this afternoon! And the sun is out, weather in the mid-40s. I think I might break out the shorts!

I LOVE sourdough! There is a local bakery near my school the has homemade whole wheat sourdough… its TOO good. Pancakes and tofu score me daughter points when I'm home! Hope your run is going amazing!

I make an amazing dish that the boyfriend loves. Spinac, Gnocchi and Sausage :) it's SO good! and always gives me a few extra points ;) #WINNING!

LOVE the look of your froyo!! Every topping is the only way to go! :P

You'll ROCK those 24 miles as always Janae, don't worry:)

Can't wait to hear about your 24 miler. You will be great! :)

P.S. never wearing scrubs to a fro yo date again. :/ so not flattering.

P.S. #2 i want to eat that grilled cheese sandwich. I love sourdough bread. If you ever go to San Francisco you have to go to Boudin's bakery. Fresh sourdough bread… omigosh … DeLiCious!

P.S. #3 yogurtland was the bomb.com. i want more peanut butter fro yo with cap'n crunch topping. *drooling*

Hope you rock the 24 miler!
I love making my bracket, but this year, I haven't paid attention as much. I went to Villanova for 2 years before transferring, so it was always awesome seeing them in March Madness, especially when they went to the Final Four. The bball games were huge and SO fun to watch live.
I win major points with breakfast in bed & coffee. Always coffee.
My Sat. workout was supposed to be a $5 yoga class, but I slept in too late. Oops!

Reply

probably a rest day or maybe an easy 3-4 miles to let my calf loosen up!
Good luck on your 24 miler! You seriously are super woman and I wish I could run like you!

Sounds like such an amazing blogger date!!!

Dave loves m&m cookies and when I make him new and exciting dinners!

are those some type of sour candy? yum! i don't ever make a bracket but i do have favorite teams…since i dont have a tv i dont actually know how any of them are doing though hahah

i was thinking of doing a double today…like 16 now and 4 later…but it's getting on the late side of the morning and i'm feeling a bit lazy hahah!

I live in 'CUSE COUNTRY! but we hear about BYU everyday in Albany because Jimmer Fredette (spelling?) went to high school around here.

Love sourdough bread!

I dont have a husband/fiance/boyfriend, so half a can of wet catfood for Dinah usually scores me major points lol

I just pounded out my fastest 5k EVER! woo! good luck with your 24miler :)

Good luck on your 24 miler! I am running my first 20 mile run today, I am a bit nervous about it. But I am looking forward to an ice bath then watching a rugby game tonight. Can't wait to hear how your 24 miler goes.

wooho my workout was some running and body weight strength exercises! good luck on ur run.. I KNOW you can do it!!!! whole wheat sourdough rocks!

Yogurtland is by FAR my favorite DIY fro yo place…the flavors, the toppings…yum! They don't have any here in NYC but I make it a #1 priority to go whenever I travel to CA, they're all over the place. Looks like great fuel for your 24 miler- good luck!

looove BYU #jimmertime. His HS bball team was our rival school…his the hometown boy :)

Good luck with your run!

P.S. so jeal that you have a yogurtland!

it's a 2nd rest day before my 10 or 11 tomorrow morning. I had to order Brighit's special medical food formula, and it's the beginning of our insurance year so I was told I would have to pay one price, our deductible, and than when I ordered they told me the usual price we have to pay so I am hoping it's the lesser so there is money in the bank to drag my littles to a running store while the hubby is at work….it will be a challenge if we get to go!

Reply

ummmm that sandwich looks soooo amazing!!! yum!

also we are super cute…we definitely need to hit up that yogurtland again soon…that was a blast!

i am sure you are totally ROCKING your 24 miler right now!

i love march madness…and am cheering for BYU but it is tough for me not to cheer for my hometown team…LOUISVILLE :)

I will probably rock out to some circuit training DVDs again today…CANNOT WAIT to run again!

Reply

You are going to ROCK your long run girl! I just know it! I am running a 5k today at 4 and am super excited! :) Have a great day!

Reply

I know your run is going to be awesome so I'm not even worried!! You are AWESOME!!!

I am rooting for DUKE BABY! Repeat! :)

I am either doing an easy 10 miler today or tomorrow, haven't decided yet. I'm still at work at the gym and that always makes my legs tired for some reason, so it may be tomorrow!!

Reply

Not a March Madness fan but cheering for Utah State just for my friend who is.
I get wife points when I don't cook (just kidding). Sad to say that after 18 years of marriage I don't know what food I cook for my husband that he loves. I have some work to do.
Now that I'm back to training for a half I do my long runs on Sat. I ran with some friends for the first time and the 7+ miles went by in no time.
I have to say I'm a little jealous of your blogger meet up. I am a little obsessive about Muncher Cruncher.

Reply

Your froyo looks amaaazing!! I love it when you can make a million fro + topping combinations with every bite. Bravo, bravo.

I'm running 10 miles today…the longest I've ever run EVER. (I'm training for my first 1/2 in April eeee!!) I am terrified but the thought of a nice long mani/pedi with extra foot/leg massaging will get me through.

GOOD LUCK ON 24!!!!!!!!!!

– I dont know yet, honestly only watch in March

– Brownie point foods are Olive Garden and Red Lobster for the S/O

I wish i would have known about the Utah bloggers meet up earlier! Totally would have come chatted it up. Maybe another time. Hope your run was fabulous!

YOU CAN DO IT JANAE! 24 miles will be easy for you outside compared to the marathons you seem to enjoy running on a TREADMILL! :)

i think i'm going to take the baby out for a few miles in his jogging stroller. it will be 76 degrees here in 'SIPPI!!!!

can't wait to read about your long run!

Utah ladies are gorgeous! Wowza! I love it. Wish I could meet megan too, and you!!
Good luck today. YOure gonna rock it.

LOVE sourdough bread as well. It sounds funny but the word "sourdough" in general reminds me of the Gold Rush in the Yukon/Alaska in the late 1800s. I grew up "up there" and it's such a huge part of the culture! Can't wait to hear about your 24 miles!!

Wow you are a bunch of stunning ladies :)
I love sourdough bread- the bestest has to be from boudins in san fransicso- one of the main reasons I want to go back there!
Any sort of cookies gets me points with Andy :)
I bet you will rock your 24 miler

Reply

Could you and your friends be any cuter??? It's like a picture out of a mag!

All we care about is JIMMERRRRR!!!!

Love sourdough…we're out in San Fran a lot and always bring home a couple loaves of Boudin bread!!!

Good luck on the 24 miles…I'm sure you'll do awesome with the yum yogurt carbo-load meal! :)

Go UCLA!!!!!

I'm going to run 5-6 today and then 10-12 tomorrow.

I won my office bracket pool last year. I can't wait to do it again this year!

Reply

Good luck on your run today!!! I hope you kick it's butt. :-) I make major wifey points by baking for my hubbie (and my family!!). This morning it was peanut butter chocolate chip banana pancakes. I have points in the bank after that breakfast.

And I LOVE sourdough!! Grilled cheese sandwiches just don't happen without sourdough.

I really wish we had a good frozen yogurt place! It looks so good! Today is my 13.1 mile run! I am so excited to get to the gym tonight!

LOVE Yogurtland… have you tried it with the mochi balls topping… DIVINE! My fave yogurt flavors are taro & pistachio & coconut… yum :)

11 mile run today- ran hard and did it at an 8:25. Felt awesome. However, I felt even MORE awesome after I came home refueled, and hung out in the bath for a half hour. Now I get to look forward to putting my babies down for a nap and taking a nap myself. I love Saturdays!

That sandwich looks so yummy. How is your food always so pretty????

My Saturday workout was a 5K! (Report coming later!) Then I came home and ran 3 more easy miles just because it was so pretty outside.

Reply

My team (TN) not going to make it, but Memphis did just win…so maybe there is a chance for a local team. Everyone needs to watch out for BYU – they may be the dark horse!

I like sourdough bread, but ciabatta rolls are the best!

Daniel eats everything I cook, even all my healthy concoctions, but he really loves it when I make homemade manicotti. He also LOVES the chocolate oatmeal cookies you let set in the fridge. :)

My Saturday workout: taught 60 minute zumba class, then did 35 minutes of core. Hopefully getting in at least a short run this afternoon since the weather is nice. Does dancing with my friends count as a workout? I think so!

Yougurtland is awesome, haha

And Jimmer Fredette with 52 points yesteday?!? Insane. One of the best college basketball performances of all time, he is amazing!

Reply

Have a great super LONG long run! That is so great that you can get out for 24. It will be a BIG confidence boost!!
I love sourdough too..but can't seem to master it at home. Always too chewy, or crunchy.
Tonight I will hit the bike for a short ride and get up early tomorrow for a much longer one (I hope. I can't believe you regularly choose to ride the bike! :)

Reply

I had a double date @ spin class this morning after watching a friend run a race :) Spin is so much better with a female instructor (mostly because girls smile more, and it makes it more fun!)

Good luck on your run!!! I'm sure you'll do awesome. No doubt. :)

Reply

YAY!! Hoping (but knowing) your 24 miles went spectacular!!! That is a gorgeous pic of all you girls–that yougurt is pretty darn beautiful too. ;)

I ran 13.1 miles with some fabulous girlfriends head wind out, tail wind back!

OK, still in LOVE with your blog.

1. I am totally going to Yogurtland today now. Yogurtland = crack.

2. I keep refreshing your page to see how your 24 miler went =) I am ridiculous. Hope you rocked it!

3. I am totally stealing your slogan for my new cooking meal planning binder. It is going to say, "Frustration is temporary. Quitting is forever." LOVE your slogans – they totally help me keep running and cooking!

Also, I wrote my first post on said cooking binder. I'll link to your page when I post the picture of it with your slogan – if that's cool =)

Good luck on your long run!! You're going to do AWESOME! Get it girl!

That sandwhich look bomb!! I love sourdough and it might be my fav type of bread! The crustier the better!!

Unfortunately for my hubs, I shave maybe once every other week during the winter… but in the summer, everyday! I don't like stubble!

My hubby loooooooves me when I make chocolate chip cookie bar, cinnamon rolls, tuna pasta salad, and this chocolate pudding dessert.

sat. workout was 3.25 miles. not feeling well, headache, body aches, and exhausted. lucky it;s saturday.

Sourdough is my favorite bread of all time! Last week I found Asiago Peppercorn sourdough at Trader Joe's and I'm in love! As soon as little man wakes up from his nap we are heading out to TJ's and that bread is at the top of my list :)

That yogurt looks soooooo yummy. I need to get a treat like that sometime soon. I don't really follow March Madness but if Ole Miss is still in, then go Rebels! If not, anyone but LSU! :) Today my workout was a 3 mile fartlek, followed by tons of machines at the gym. I planned a 5 mile tempo run but I increased my miles again this week and was feeling sluggish so rather than getting injured I cut it short and had more of a fun run.

Reply

So THAT'S why you were wearing the tank top! lol

Sourdough… I like it fine. San Francisco is THE place for sourdough, you know. Another selling point for Billy to go to UCBerkeley for Law School ;-)

Reply

I have been a Duke fan since I was little…but I must say that your BYU boy Jimmer is a monster. 52 points last night?!? ahhhh!

Reply

I make Mike do my work basketball bracket for me. I know nothing about basketball, but I'll give him your input ;)

That ice cream looks AMAZING!

My workout today was my first real outdoor run of the year! It was AWESOME. So good that I even got a little sunburnt AND Mike ran 5 of the miles with me :)

Reply

BYU beat UNM :( Even though I'm super cool and live in Boston now, I went to UNM and was super sad to see them lose…especially because we beat BYU two other times this season!

Reply

Hope you had a great run! We rode our bikes all over Dallas today for a bug St. Patrick's day parade/party. Believe it or not, I score big points when I make Billy smoothies in the morning. He loves them but doesn't like to make them himself!

Reply

My Saturday workout was 9 miles.

I haven't even thought about a March Madness bracket, but I'm obligated to root for the Ohio State Buckeyes and I hear they are playing rather well this year.

Reply

I just love how you let everyone know about fitness, but also about your love of food and the importance of eating! Good, bad or other, LOL. Healthy eating and nutrition are important, but too many people get fixated on not eating, working out and then having a combo of air and fruit.

You go on with your bad self and with every darn yogurt topping there is!! I'd be right there joining you!

Well Saturday's already long gone here (I'm in Australia — it's now almost 5pm on Sunday!), but my Saturday workout(s) was a 1.5 hour ride + 1 hour of intervals on the crosstrainer + some upper body strength work.

Foods that get my major props with the manfriend = steak, pavlova, anything involving the 4 Bs (butter, brussel sprouts, broccoli, bacon). oh and he just generally loves me because i keep the freezer well-stocked with ice cream at all times :)

Reply

I haven't done my bracket yet but I'm a Carolina girl all the way! Go Heels!
