Thank you to all of my bff’s out there for the prayers and awesome comments.  I feel so loved and I hope that you can feel my love for you:)

I don’t remember who said it, but they gave me the brilliant idea of blending up candy into a delicious smoothie.  I will be trying that, just don’t tell my periodontist.

Everything went awesome except I don’t like laughing gas anymore……I may have lost my lunch on the poor little nurse:(

I had a great run this morning to tie me over till I can run again.

16 miles with an average pace of 7:38.

Poor nurse!! : )
Awesome run this morning! Glad things went well. I'm a pretty boring smoothie person. Strawberry for me.
And movies – I watched the Soloist the other night and liked it or something super cheesy like The Game Plan.

Reply

smoothie: any kind of frozen fruit i have in the ice box + rice milk + hemp protien + ground flaxseed + coconut oil + a splash of agave nectar. that was my breakfast of champions this morning. i took it with me to school and was still working on it when my geometry students got there…one student thought i was drinking lotion. another one actually said "that looks really gross." gotta love high school kids.

movie: anything that involves dancing. like dirty dancing (even the havana nights one :) center stage…honey…

glad that you are home safe and working on recovering. hope the nurse is ok :)

so glad you're doing well! I agree with all of Caroline's movie suggestions. "Word Play" is a funny, off-beat documentary and "Gross Pointe Blank" is a funny John Cusack movie.

Glad it went well!!! Get lots of rest and feel better soon!! :)

Oh my gosh! I just read what you had done. I had the same thing done twice for two different corners of my gums. They had to wait a long time in between because otherwise it would be too much. My first experience was horrible! They had a hard time getting the skin from the roof of my mouth – too 'thin' of a palette – I said "Why didn't you think of that BEFORE you started drilling?!! " LOL!

I'm too big of a foodie though and was still eating foods but just realllly steamed them and mashed them up…and ate them on one side of the mouth…it did get me in trouble though…:( and it started bleeding again.

I went back to work the next day and my mouth was swollen and bruised – they sent me home. I remember being so happy to be hope early on a friday – but felt like sh*t! I went out and bought Cookies 'n' Creme ice cream (Breyers) and rented Marley and Me and Twilight – and stayed on the couch the rest of the day! So no like me :) But so good to be such a bum.

Gosh – SORRY for the novel! I hope you are feeling better ! Remember – NO exercise, don't screw it up like I did! Haha.

Movies?? Hmm…The Other Guys was kinda funny. I have "The Switch" with Jenn Anniston and "Salt" here for the weekend…

Okay, I'm done ;)

Glad you're alive! I love making coconut-banana smoothies. Or you could throw some ice cream and blend it into a smoothie. I love 500 days of summer, how to lose a guy in 10 days, sweet home alabama, and the notebook…and the little mermaid. I never get sick of good chick flicks.

Reply

Ooo I'll come be your couch buddy! Glad everything went well today!

You look great, smiling and everything, quite amazing!! Hope you get a good nights sleep and heal quickly.

We are watching Jaws tonight, always a favorite around here! I am all about the classics.

Right now I am addicted to peanut butter shakes, so I would try and eat as many of those as possible!

Reply

You MUST watch Anger Management! And Caddyshack. Those are hilarious you will die laughing:)

If you lurve feel-good movies with human depth (like I do), Forrest Gump, Dead Poet's Society, and Mona Lisa Smile are my all-time faves, no matter how dorky that is!

If you want something scrumptious, watch Chocolat. I think the title speaks for itself;) Also, watch Wuthering Heights! It is a juicy twisted romance, if crazy craze is your thing:)

P.s. banana+ pb+ chocolate sizzurp+ milk and/or vanilla ice cream = bomb smoothie! You will go to heaven.

Reply

Hmmmm…. okay, what are some good movies I've seen lately?…

Dispicable Me! If you haven't seen that, WATCH IT! So funny.

Charlie St. Cloud was good as far as chick flicks go.

If you want one that Billy can watch with you, The A Team was surprisingly good.

Knight and Day was another good one.

And Salt! But don't try to watch Salt when you're taking Lortab. It's kinda confusing even when you're completely sober.

Reply

Eat plenty of ice cream for me ;)

I have just discovered you. . . .and you are a TRIP!

So glad to hear you are recovered from your surgery. My dad is a periodontist and he actually had to do a graph on me so I feel your pain! I am such a wuss about surgery so I know I was a horrible patient!!!

Anyway, check out the green monster smoothies. I had one today and I know it sounds weird to have spinach in your smoothie but they are delicious!!!

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. but every time I'm sick, ever since I was a little kid, I watch the Little Mermaid. when I was up all night vomiting when I was very little, my mom would stay up all night with me watching it over and over again. moms are amazing.

when I got my wisdom teeth out, I lived on garlic mashed potatoes and rainbow sherbet for like five days. my bff just got hers out and I told her to do rainbow sherbet with vanilla whea protein powder to get some nutrients. so… do that! hahah

Reply

My favorite movies to watch are "The Notebook" and "Sweet Home Alabama". I love curling up with my Snuggie and a good movie. Now that's relaxation!!! Rest up and you will be back running and eating all the sugary goodness in no time. I'm so glad everything went well!!!

Reply

Hey Sweetie! Glad things went well. Don't worry about the unfortunate incident involving your lunch, laughing gas and the nurse. Trust me, they are used to it. I had a similar unfortunate incident, and to this day the words "I frew up" still get brought up by my mother. This could possibly be amusing, considering I was missing the front four teeth on the top and couldn't make the "th" sound for "threw", except for the small detail that I was 18 not 6 when this took place. And my mom STILL insists on telling the story like I was a six year old when it happened, and then all kinds of shades of awkwardness ensues for me when people realize I was an adult, not a cute little kid wanting two front teeth for Christmas. *sigh* LOL

Smoothies! I made this once, a long time ago and just rediscovered it in my recipe book while searching for smoothies for you.

Banana Split Smoothie
2 banana
1 (8 oz) can crushed pineapple
2 cups fat free milk
1 cup strawberries
2 tablespoons honey
2 cups ice
maraschino cherries for garnish
(and you know it was the ice cream inspired name that caught my eye the first time around! lol )

Movies. I love love LOVE "Without a Paddle". I laughed so hard I almost peed myself.

"Dead Again" is among my favorites. Sort of an epic/tragic love story/mystery movie.

Jason and I love "Band of Brothers". If you haven't seen it yet, its an amazing HUGE story about the 503rd Regiment during World War II.

Let's not forget "Goonies" and "The Princess Bride"!! No more rhyming, and I mean it! Anybody want a peanut?? (If you haven't ever seen Princess Bride, then you have no idea what I'm talking about, but those who have seen it are laughing!)

Reply

OH yay! It went well!! You look so good even after laughing gas and surgery.

Movies: "The Town" was fab. Not a chick flick though.

Smoothie: I keep seeing Green Monster's out there; blend spinach with banana's and protein mix…

Get better soon friend, and try as many different ice cream flavors possible!!

Reply

Chocolate, Peanut Butter, and Banana! I usually make it a protein shake, but I imagine it'd be even better with chocolate ice cream for an added sugar bonus.

As for movies, The Devil Wears Prada is always a winner. It never gets old!

Get well soon!

You should watch 'Drop Dead Gorgeous'! It's a fake documentary about a beauty pageant in the Midwest, and has Kirsten Dunst, Kirstie Alley, Denise Richards, Ellin Barkin and a ton of other celebs in it! Super funny and the accents are 'greeeat'. You'll love it!

Feel better girl! I LOVE your blog and am now totally caught up! You are my inspiration to get my little legs running faster at 40! I love Big Fish as an all time fave movie. I can't believe your speed! Give us slower runners some tips! I was thrilled to run the last mile of my run at an 8 which is HUGE for me. Running 8 on Sunday. Have done six 1/2s and am just hoping to get a sub 2 this year as well as run my first full! Tips and inspiration needed! You are the bomb! Enjoy your candy smoothie. I love the airhead sour belt candies and fun dip the best! xo

I'm a big fan of chocolate carnation instant breakfast, a frozen banana and soy nut butter (or any nut butter for that matter).

You could take out the nut butter and add some crushed up peppermint candy for a peppermint patty taste…

you are amazing. that is all i can say. 16 miles. 7:38. you are just wow. movies – sabrina, i am a sucker for twilight, i could watch alias reruns all day. rest well!

Janae I hope that you get feeling better! That sucks about the laughing gas, cause it's one of my favorite things too! I wish that it was covered by my insurance, cause I would get it during cleanings. I think your idea about the ear phones is like GENIUS! That horrid sound of the drill just makes me want to throw up.

I remember the first time that I got laughing gas, I felt like I was flying out of the dentists office window… but it was more like I was seeing it happen to myself… Do you remember those 3D things that you pull away from your face really slowly? Then it shows your the 3D image? It was like that!

I hope you heal fast, so that you can go running :)

Reply

Awwwww, I'm glad it's over and you can move on to the good stuff (blended candy milkshakes, maybe?)

I just finished watching Toy Story 3. Seriously, I almost cried. Pathetic? Yes. Do I care? No. Juno is always a great movie. Hairspray. Monster In Law. The Backup Plan. Moulin Rouge. Step Up (I think that's the name of it). Fame (The newer one. I've never seen the older one). I watched all the Harry Potter movies that were out at the time (I think up to the 5th?) when I had my wisdom teeth removed. Bringing Down the House. Beauty Shop…

I am sooooo glad you are alive!!!!

Movies: Love Actually, Prefontaine, The Sweetest Thing, Chariots of Fire, Invincible, The Rookie, The Blind Side, Mansfield Park, Becoming Jane, The Jane Austen Book Club, Priceless, Dan in Real Life, Office Space… I could toss lots of ideas your way… these are either funny or inspirational-ish… nothing heavy or "down".

My recommendation is strawberry milkshake (my "I just had my wisdom teeth out, I need milkshakes!" preference! But remember, if your mouth is numb, milkshake will end up on your lap! Learened that one the hard way!) and Paranormal Activity!! I am on a scary movie kick these days, so I highly recommend if you like scary movies or have a cute hubby who will hold your hand during it! ;)

The one and only movie that makes me feel better no matter how upset/sick I am is…Dumb and Dumber! That got me through many high school break ups…along with double fudge brownie ice cream. :)

My current favorite smoothie obsession is peanut butter and banana. So good!

Glad you made it through surgery okay!! I actually have gums that are starting to recede but have been avoiding the dentist in hopes that if I just ignore it, it'll go away. I realize this is stupid, but I'm still holding out.

I think being stuck on the couch calls for silly chick flicks and dancing movies (Step Up, Step Up 2 the Streets are about as bad…I mean GOOD…as it gets)

Reply

Glad you are doing great! I love a shake with vannilla icecream or vanilla fro-yo with a banana, vanilla wafers, and a lil pb. The cookies should grind up enough in the blender so you can drink it! Enjoy relaxing!

Reply

Hope you are feeling good today! I picture you watching movies on the couch with empty ice cream containers surrounding you. :) I love 80s movies – Pretty in Pink, 16 Candles (which I'm watching THIS very minute), Breakfast Club, etc. I also love just about any girly movie – 27 Dresses, Legally Blonde, etc. And Billy sometimes gets me to watch action/adventure movies. I also love Love, Actually and The Holiday but they remind me of Christmas. I'm just rambling now…

I love green smoothies with spinach, banana, peanut butter and almond milk. I always add some granola on top.

Reply

Watching movies on the couch and having ice cream sounds great! I pretty much love most movies, especially chick flicks. My favorite movie is The Holiday, I'm not sure why but I love it. I can listen to the soundtrack when I can fall asleep and I am out in minutes. I also watched Charlie St.Cloud the other day and really like it!

Reply

If you haven't, you should see UP! It is AMAZING–so super sweet, and I am pretty much in love the Dug the dog from that movie.
Peach smoothies are where it's at. I usually just use canned peaches (and the juice from the can), vanilla yogurt, and ice. Simple, to the point, delicious.
I hope you feel better soon, and enjoy your ice cream, smoothies, and movies! :D

The BBC Pride and Prejudice is amazing, and it takes all day to watch. Plus, who doesn't love Colin Firth?

I am a mint chocolate chip girl myself. Another healthy solution would be spinach. You can't even taste it, especially if you add a banana and berries! Plus, it is soooo good for you!

Reply

Enjoy the ice cream! I love almond milk, banana, strawberries, mango, blueberries, almond butter and hemp seed. The mango is frozen so it has a milkshaky texture and is pure deliciousness.
