Morning!

I’m going to request that nobody ever tells Beck about all of the trains we want on without him during this trip. We are already on thin ice with him (our third trip this year without him🙈) and this might be too much for him to handle.

6 am train to Vienna= I was asleep for 98% of the ride.

We arrived and went straight to Sisi Museum. This museum was all about Empress Elisabeth and her story. We took the audio tour and enjoyed it so much. I love knowing people’s stories (probably why I force you to know mine🤣) and hers was a fascinating one.

From there, we took the short walk to Cafe Delmel which is one of Austria’s oldest patisseries. Cake for breakfast is going to be a hard habit to break when I go home… or maybe it’s a habit I need to bring back with me?

St. Stephen’s Cathedral.
Breathtaking.

We spent a lot of time here… including both towers (one was 343 steps!).

We also went down to the Catacomb for the tour. There were caskets, urns and bones everywhere… so many stories.

We went on a walk to their large park and the place we were hoping to go to lunch was closed. Instead, we found Figlmuller for schnitzels and potato salad and it was incredible. I had no idea how much I would enjoy this.

Schonbrunn Palace and the gardens was our final stop!

I almost forgot to tell you about this bowl of strawberries with whipped cream and chocolate in a waffle bowl from Delmel. We fell in love with Vienna and now I need to come back for this marathon.

Tell me three things you have going on today?

what an amazing adventure for you both! this trip seems to have come together so quickly and yet you’re hitting all the major tourist hot spots and experiences – well done! Curious how the walking and eating – which isn’t your normal
Pre-marathon routine – impacts your run. It doesn’t matter really – you’re having the experience of a lifetime and I hope you guys do get back in future years. This will most likely be one of your most memorable marathons ever! Continue to enjoy!

Oh man. If I knew you were going to Austria I would have asked if you could pay our unpaid parking ticket from 2016.
Today I’m doing a tempo run, house chores and marathon planning. I work next weekend so I need to make good use of my time. T-2 weeks for Indy!
Keeping having the best time in Europe!

Janae, you guys hit the jackpot with this trip! Everything looks so incredible and what special time for just you and Andrew (although there were defnitely no trains Beck, don’t worry). I can just picture you guys having the biggest smiles in the race!

Thank you for sharing your incredible trip! So stunning.
Heading out for a quick run, then walking Nala, then home to take care of lots of yard work. We’re going to be hosting Thanksgiving this year, so we have a ton of little projects to do.
I can’t wait to see and hear all about the marathon! Tomorrow, correct?

What a fun trip!! You guys are packing so much in. Enjoy!!

Today is the Baltimore running festival. My boyfriend ran the full and I had friends doing the half. It was cold and drizzly but great weather for them! I was the ultimate spectator with signs, extra fuel and water, warm clothes for after.
