Friday Favorites!

(shirt, shoes, leggings, headband)

Seven miles @ 8:25 average.

A big snowstorm the night before resulted in some branches breaking off our trees and our power going off in the middle of the night.  Because we are all hooked on white noise/fans, we all woke up when they turned off and hung out for a bit until the power turned on again. They are saying that the ski resorts are going to open early this year!

They were ready to get out and play first thing in the morning.
Fast forward to the end of the day–> Tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches were necessary. This garlic spread on grilled cheese sandwiches is too good.

I don’t know how but Beck is two years old today.

These last two years with him have been the best.  We all love him too much.

I swear this was yesterday!

I had no idea that a human could have as much energy as Beck.  He wants all of us to be up and running around with him the second he wakes up.  Today will be filled with airplanes, trucks, pizza, and covering every square inch of our bodies with dirt or snow.

I’m sure we will also do some yoga together today because that is his current hobby.

These are just a few important favorites to talk about.

*This dip from Costco will change your life. Please get it if you are a Costco member (or I will send it to you). I am so obsessed with pickle-flavored items and grab the kettle krinkle-cut Himalayan salt chips to go with it while you are there.

*I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved running in the Stance Crew Socks. I was sure that I would have a blister because they were my first time running in them (and I had 20 miles to do), but I was willing to make the sacrifice for my race costume. I need more pairs with different patterns now; they felt so good.

*I am so happy that this Black Friday sale has started early. The Gabb watches have been the absolute best for Brooke and Knox. They make it so we can quickly get ahold of them safely. I love that you can select who they can call/text and who can call/text them. In a few years, we will get them the Gabb phone, and when they are 18 and want to buy an iPhone, great;).

ALL DEVICES (phones and watches) are free (along with a free accessory) with a two-year contract–> Use the code HUNGRYRUNNERGIRL here. Enjoy being able to communicate with your kids when you need to without all of the craziness that can come with apps/the internet etc.

Skye steals Knox’s watch whenever he is gone.

*I have had this vest for a few years now and always get questions, so I thought I would include it today. The best vest ever.

*I decided to try out a new type of light! This one just clips right onto your top or bottoms with a strong magnet and is a great light for the dark mornings. It’s cheap, rechargeable and super bright. It also comes in a two pack too.

I tried a bunch of different running socks because I was getting blisters really bad and Bombas were the first I came across that I didn’t get blisters. I’ve been wearing them for about year now. I’ll be giving them to my running sisters for Christmas. They don’t have blister problems but nice socks are always a good gift.
That light looks really good. I can’t use it to run because we have no side walks or road shoulders and I don’t think they would make it safe enough. But my driveway is a quarter mile long and they would be really good for walking the trash down to the street after dark and walking the dogs around are yard after dark. We have too many tree roots on our trails to go without a flashlight. Hands free will be so much better.
Have a great weekend! I hope Beck enjoys his pizza and yoga!

I am SO glad you found Bombas. They truly are amazing socks and that is such a great gift to give your running sisters. I hope the light works out for your driveway! Thanks Lee, happy weekend to you!

Happy birthday Beck!!

I experiment with running socks- so far I’ve liked Stance, Feetures, Bombas, and Lululemon!

Excited to watch the NYC marathon this weekend! But also considering running a half that morning- I did one two weeks ago and this one is completely flat, so think I can do it!

Reply

Thank you, Mariah! So many great socks out there. I cannot wait to watch the marathon on TV. DO THE HALF! I am cheering so loud for you!

Awww, Beck is so cute, what a fun crew you have =)

We got our first snow of the season yesterday and it was so nice and pretty.

Stance are my favorite running socks ever they feel so good and are really cute. I just put some of those lights in my amazon cart, they will be great stocking stuffers for my family how are always out walking their dogs. They could even clip them on the dogs! Thanks for the suggestion.

We do a Thankful Turkey at November to help our little understand the concept. It’s cute and easy: https://busytoddler.com/teaching-toddlers-to-be-thankful/

Ok, I have to try that garlic spread! So you put it on the outside of the bread before making the grilled cheese? And definitely need to try that dip too! We also love those chips and usually have a bag in our pantry.
We have absolutely nothing planned for this weekend, and I am happy about that. So I will hopefully get caught up on yardwork. I am also really excited to watch the NYC marathon on Sunday morning. So many amazing people are running it this year. And it’s Steph Bruce’s final marathon.
Oooo, have so much fun with Beck today!!

Happy birthday to Beck!! What a cutie.

Speaking of fun lights, I’ve always liked the small lights you can attach to bike spokes. They really do make you more visible (mostly from the side), but more than that, they’re just fun. You can find them at REI, I think! Would make a great stocking stuffer, although if your kids don’t ride in twilight/dark at all, they might not be entirely worth the cost. They really don’t show up in daylight as much.

Happy, happy, happy birthday to Beck!! Have the best time celebrating that bundle of energy!

Hi Janae! I gotta look at more socks now that it’s rainy! Wet feet chafe so much faster for me!
Happy birthday to Beck! Enjoy the weekend!

About the light. It looks amazing. But, you said you tried it. You didn’t say whether or not you liked it. I don’t run in the dark much, but when I do I use a headlamp. However, it does bounce and if it’s also raining and I’m wearing a hat with a brim, it makes things complicated.

Reply

Oh oops! I love it! It doesn’t bounce at all on me and I hate having a light on my head so it is the perfect solution! Love love love it.

I love that vest!! I can’t afford that though so I’ll need to look for a dupe. Where is the cute Henley underneath from? Happy birthday beck!! I still think about your blog before you had kids and you nieces and nephews were just babies! Everyone is growing like crazy !

Reply

YES and if you find a dupe, send it to me! Here is the link to the henley and I hope you are having a great day! Thanks for being my internet friend for so long!
