Friday Favorites!

(Bra, shorts)

A 45 min HIIT and hills peloton class that almost didn’t happen because our internet was being lame… I took this as a sign to get back in bed, but it finally worked on my last try.

I also took this class, and it’s incredible how in just 10 minutes, they can make my legs dead.

Brooke finished a week of BYU soccer camp.  She was gone for about 11 hours a day doing what she loves doing the most.

I can’t believe how grown up she is!   It felt like I was dropping her off at college.

After another rainstorm, we were back outside.

Skye has been using her hydration pack in the backyard so she doesn’t have to stop playing when she needs a drink.

And I’m so grateful my 10k gave out these bells at the race because Beck wants to ring it all day long now.

And that’s all I have from the day

Let’s get moving with some favorite things:

*I’ve told you about this adidas Running Pocket Bra before, but I fell even more deeply in love with it during my half-marathon last weekend.  The pockets are unreal.  You can fit everything you could need in there without it bouncing around.  These pockets make grabbing things out of while you run even easier than pockets in shorts.  You can stash your key, card, gels, and phone in there easily.  I love the longer base of the bra and the softest material.  I don’t chafe an ounce in this bra, and it keeps my chest fully supported with each step.  I cannot sing enough praises about this sports bra.  The bungee on the back makes it perfect to secure your tank if you need to take it off during the run.  The coverage is ideal for me, the colors it comes in are perfect for summer, and the price is fantastic for what you are getting.  I need to give every female endurance runner one of these.  You know when you get excited to put something on, and that, in turn, helps you get out the door and run… that is what happens each time I grab this bra out of the drawer.

*Tour de France documentary on Netflix.  Andrew and I loved this, and I swear I was sweating as much as the bikers while I watched.  I do not understand how they do what they do.

*A t-shirt with some fun details with the side cinching and cap sleeves.  It is so light and perfect with jeans.

*I do not work with Greenlight, but it is something we love so much with our kids and have now used for a few years.  These debit cards make life so easy for us, so I thought I would share a few reasons why we love them…

-We get notifications each time our kids use their cards, so we know exactly where their money is going:).

-I have an allowance set up to arrive every Saturday morning for them.  It is easy to stop the allowance if they don’t fulfill their weekly requirements.

-They love having their own debit card (with their picture on it:).  The app makes it easy for them to decide how much to put into savings and spending.  They also have investing options as they begin learning and researching investments.

-I rarely have cash on me, so if they are going somewhere with friends etc., it’s easy for me to just put some money on their cards for food and activities.

They do have a referral program, so if you choose to use Greenlight, you can use my link here or scan this QR code to get $30 free on your card!  We love this program.

Did you ever go to sports camps growing up?  If you have kids, are they going to any this summer?

Have a credit card you love… what are the perks of it?

Have you taken any strength classes lately?  Which one?

Are you looking forward to anything this weekend?

Greenlight seems like such a great way to help kids learn how to spend, save and invest money at a young age! Especially since parents/guardians can track every dollar to see what it is being used for.

I love my Chase Sapphire Preferred card! I get some great perks and points on it. My points can be used for a round trip ticket to Africa for a safari so now I just need to save a bit more for the safari itself. Plus Chase is starting to put lounges in airports so I’ll be able to use that.

Yes, I wish I would have had one growing up! Ummmm what?! That is incredible. Maureen, when do you plan on going??!?!

I am cracking up at Skye! Smart girl you have there lol. Then the bell, LOLOL. I took a few months off from my Peloton Bike and have finally gotten back into it! I haven’t got my replacement seat post yet, so hopefully I won’t be impaled by that while riding lol. I think I am going to sign up for the Green light cards for my kids, that is such a great idea! My son is 13 and I’ve been doing the Apple Card with him so he can have that on his phone, but not everywhere accepts that.

She knows hydration is important but can’t waste time for it;). Yay for getting back on the peloton… we didn’t either so crossing my fingers for both of us! Everywhere we have been accepts the green light cards so I hope you guys love it as much as we do. The app is so user friendly. Have a beautiful day, Sarah!

I’m so impressed with Brooke and her soccer! She is awesome!
My Adidas sprots bra came in the mail last night. I immediately wore it for my Peloton ride. I was shocked by the amount of pockets. I’m contemplating buying a second one now!
As for the TdF documentary, cycling is very nail biting. Yesterday a cyclist actually died during the Tour de Swiss. So dangerous.
Also, my husband was bit by a dog in the country while he was on his bike yesterday. I suppose the silver lining was that the owner didn’t follow up by chasing him with a metal dog bowl??

Molly! I have been wondering about your thoughts on the documentary. I had no idea that a rider died yesterday during the Tour de Swiss! Ummmm what is going on with dogs lately. No bowl… no problem 😉. Hope he is doing okay! So happy to hear about the bra… one is not enough! Happy Friday, Molly!

TGIF!
We use the green light card for our kids too. It’s really convenient and flexible.

No sports camp for me growing up, but I would love to go on a running retreat to a beautiful destination one of these days!

Lots of family plans this weekend which I’m looking forward to :). Weather is iffy so hopefully it improves.

Have a great weekend

Hi Janae! If you don’t mind me asking, what size in the sports bra do you get/what size are you in normal bras? (Sorry super personal, but their sizing doesn’t really tell me much on the website, feels like xxs-L could all be the same!) Thank you so much!!

HELLO Steph! I am an open book! I have the small in the adidas bra and wear a 6 at lululemon and a small in every other sports bra that I own. I don’t know what my real bra size is ha because I don’t ever wear those anymore oops! Have a beautiful day and I hope you love the bra!

Hey Janae
I’m going camping this weekend and it’s going to be a rainy weekend. I’m looking for some new books. I know you’ve been reading a lot. Do you have any recommendations?
Thanks!
Ps- do you have a link to the sandals?

HEY Jane! Boo for the rain but also that will be nice to sit down and read! A few that I loved this year were In Five Years, Normal People, The Midnight Library, The Way I Used to Be (this one is super sad though) and I loved Kara, Des and Lauren Fleshman’s books that came out this year. I’m almost finished with Anxious People and I am really loving that too. You have to let me know what you read and what you think. Enjoy your camping trip and here is the link to the sandals:

I love all the Ben Alldis 10 min workouts on peloton. Most at not HIIT (which is great, because I don’t need more cardio after a run) and make me sore in 10 min!

This weekend my boyfriend and I are going to NYC! Have a good weekend!

Weekend in NYC with your boyfriend, that sounds perfect! I am all about skipping the HIIT strength classes too, I like m strength and cardio separated. Hope your day has been great so far!

I cannot train at home, because I would just roll back into bed…….even foam rolling just doesn’t work…just gove me a gym with lots of weights and equipment and I’m happy…..
I’m working events for our Running Room, which has turned out to be a fun thing…I volunteer at a lot of events too, I like giving back, and watching others race is kind of inspiring…..

Hahah that is the problem with trying to work out at home. That is awesome, Warren! They are all so lucky to have you!

Brooke looks like a teenager – she needs to stop!! Seriously, she’s growing in to such a lovely young woman.

I didn’t go to sports camp but I did go to church camp every summer and loved it. I loved it so much I eventually became a counselor, which is not nearly as fun!

We’ve had a Hawaiian Airlines credit card for years and I have flown to Hawaii for free dozens of times.

My strength training is still on vacation…

Professional cycling is such a tough sport. Les follows all the races and it’s scary how fast they go. Sadly a cyclist died overnight after a crash at the Tour de Suisse in Switzerland yesterday. The entire peloton rode in his memory today with his 6 team mates in front. He was only 26.

Legit teenagers! Oh I love that you were able to go to church camp and be a counselor. Umm that sounds like a perfect credit card for you guys. That is absolutely heartbreaking. 26.

Hi Janae! Happy Friday!! We are off for a little backpacking!
Congrats to Brooke for finishing soccer camp! And Skye always cracks me up. The hydration pack while playing is genius!
Happy Friday!

Backpacking?! You guys are so cool. She has it on again with her cousins, next thing I know it she will be putting Liquid IV in there too;). Thanks Amy and have the best time!

That Tour de France documentary is soooo nervewracking! The first episode had me sweating!! Part of me was also sad because the managers/coaches/team owners seem more concerned with results than the athlete well being. I know it’s a business, but the mom in me felt bad for the cyclists, especially the younger racers!

Skye is a smart cookie to wear her camelback while playing!

One of the things I love about your blog is the links you post take you direct to the site without exiting the blog. I hate it when links replace the blog and you have to finagle your way back to the posting.

SWEATING. Oh my goodness, Andrew and I said the same thing… I could not deal with a coach like that. Oh that makes me so happy, I am with you… I don’t want to have to push the back button and then scroll back to wear I was:). Happy weekend, Kelly!

No child should have a debit card until they have a job and are accessing money from their own account. I also don’t believe in allowances. Basically my kids don’t get money, so they start working at 14.

Just my opinion.

Love Skye’s hydration… cracking up over that! And need to get that sports bra it’s kind of magic.

Janae I wanted to give you a recommendation
– I just read another Taylor Jenkins Reid book, One True Loves. I cried a LOT ha but it was great and I think you’d enjoy too since you loved her other one recently!!

Ahhhhhh stop it! I just got a few pages into it yesterday. I’m sooooo excited for it! Keep any and all recommendations coming! Happy weekend, Meghan
