3 days/26 miles on the treadmill so far this week and I am really looking forward to an outdoor run today.
The girls were both back to normal (Brooke woke up early to knit… she can’t stop!!) yesterday which made me very happy!
It rained the entire day and it’s supposed to rain all day today too. I will definitely show up to the starting line in 2ish weeks knowing I trained in every weather condition possible (minus heat) for this race.
It was so good to see Knox again. I’m very happy he will be with us this weekend to watch Andrew’s race.
There was a lot of playing.
And a much needed 30 minute reading/hot chocolate break when Skye went down for another nap (her first one was much shorter than normal). Brooke and Knox were playing. I needed a recharge!
Andrew finished up his last shift of his capstone! This program has felt like it flew by but it’s been 2.5 years.
For dinner we had this Tomato Spinach Chicken Spaghetti!
I finished up the night by going to an activity for the youth in my area (I forgot if I mentioned this or not but I am now working with the 11-13 year old girls at my church).
I have a few random things to share with you today:
*I’ve been practicing some power hiking on my treadmill at home and setting the incline to 15% and going for 15 minutes like that after some of my runs. I’m reminding myself that my reward for not running the ups during my ultra will be being able to run at the end because I won’t have killed myself off in the beginning. I have never raced with this type of plan before (I’ve done trail half marathons but never stopped running during those) so if you want to place bets on whether or not I’m going to follow my plan to walk the ups, now is the time.
*Very excited to try these during my long run today. I’m just so thankful they finally make a bag with only the pink/red flavors. In other news I think I officially exceeded the maximum amount of peanut butter sandwiches one should eat. I don’t think I ever want to eat one again.
*Speaking of candy… If anyone finds the Tootsie Roll Eggs (Easter candy) I will Venmo you for them & shipping:). I’ve heard they are super good and I cannot find them anywhere.
*THIS recipe… so so good and easy. It’s called Sheet Pan Fajitas and we loved it.
You can eat them as fajitas or turn them into a 6 lb fajita salad like me:
*Someone sent this to me… I guess the lingo is different with the direction I’ve taken my running.
*Good thing we got in some cold runs together during our training because this is about Andrew’s race on Saturday:
*Time to get going on my last long run of this training cycle!
*I have a feeling these cousins are going to be together all summer long… minus the coats and probably some shorts instead.
*I cannot forget to braid my hair today because running in the rain without a braid = a rat’s nest in my hair afterwards.
Ever ran a race in the rain? How did it go?
What did you have for dinner last night?
-Spaghetti and chicken.
What is your Thursday going to be filled with?
Ever eaten candy while running… what kind?
