Our day at Disneyland.

You have to admit, running a different route and in a new city is kind of the best.  My legs are still recovering but they felt a million times better than they did on Tuesday.  Two days off from everything really helped and I was able to do 5 miles at a 7:52 average pace before our Disney day started.

The streets were empty besides other runners out there doing the same thing I was doing.

We made it to the park right when it opened and went straight for the roller coasters.  We were able to do every ride that we wanted without having to wait very long… we are all about the fast passes.

The food highlights:

1.  I’m not a normal corndog person but there is just something crazy good about Disneyland corndogs.

2.  A reader recommended trying the crab nachos and after eating them I want to give that reader a big hug.

They are at the Cove Bar and they were crazy good.

3.  When it got hot we made sure to get ice cream in chocolate dipped cones.

Fast forward to the end of the day…  Star Tours ended up being our last ride.  We were both pretty sick afterwards.  Never again will I be entering that ride.

Because we are creatures of habit we went to the same place for dinner that we went the night before.  I had the Holiday Turkey one (turkey/cranberries/gravy) and I will probably have to go get another one today.

Almost 19 miles of walking and running = tired legs.

I hope you have a fabulous Saturday!  I’ll be getting in an 8 miler and next week will jump back into marathon training again!

What’s on your agenda?

Glad you had a fun day at Disney! What was your favorite ride? Today’s agenda is workout, make chia pudding, shop and dinner out with my Mom.

No agenda for the weekend! :)

What a fun weekend! And perfect timing with coming off your half and giving your legs a break from training for a few days! Though I’m not sure that walking and running 18 miles is really a “break!” ;) It’s amazing how much you can walk around at Disney!

I’m spending time this weekend with a friend that is moving soon and a friend who lives in London but is home visiting!

Looks like you’re having a great time! And those nachos! Yum.
7 miles done now off to get my hair done and do some shopping.
Happy Saturday!

Oh my. Crab nachos. Thanks for the tip. I will have to try next time I’m at Dland!

I can’t even express the amount of jealous I am that you are there right now. What a fun spontaneous get away for you. That ice cream cone looks amazing. Notice how I always go for the junk, even first thing in the morning? That should probably change.
Have fun!

Looks so fun! So cool that you get to do this :) I agree running in a new city is seriously awesome.

Yay!! Looks like a fun day. Love your dress!

I didn’t wear a step counter when I was at Disney but I’m sure I walked a half marathon that day!

Reply

I love corn dogs! Super jealous of your Disney day!! We’re waiting for our son to be a little older until we take him since disney with a 1 year old sounds pretty rough haha

Reply

I just got back from a “feels like 103” run and now I just want an ice cream cone…

Reply

Week sorry you got sick but I’m glad you enjoyed the rest of your day!

Disney food is seriously the best!!
My boyfriend can’t stand Star Tours either. He gets dizzy and then feels sick. Yuck!

Beach day! I live in Orange County (about 8 miles from Disneyland) and we’ve got a sunny beach day on our agenda. Disneyland day is coming soon though. :)
Star Tours makes me so sick. My son loves it so he has to wait when we go with family or a friend that can ride it. He’s old enough to ride alone but that’s no fun!
Happy Saturday!

Aw looks like you are having a blast! Those ice cream cones look delish :)

All that food looks sooo good!!! Sorry about that ride, that’s the worse. My running buddy and I just did 16 miles. We had an awesome run!!!!!! Enjoy Disney!!!

So jelly!! Going to Disneyland as an adult is way better! Looked like and awesome day with your man. I’m so happy for you!

My little cousin is getting married this afternoon in the woods. It should be big fun. Love these occasions as a reason for family reunions.

What a fun day! We have never been to Disneyland, but want to go very soon (maybe I’ll get that Coast to Coast medal next year?). Thanks for sharing all of these delicious looking photos!

I just finished an 18 miler and I’m flying to California this afternoon…woohoo!

Lovely!
I ran about 9 miles today with friends in NYC. It’s Summer Streets so you can run with no traffic along park avenue and lots of freebies and games for entertainment. I grabbed an Honest Tea. It was quite refreshing.
Now I’m hopping in the shower and I’ll see the boyfriend in a little bit.
Glad to have a happy day. Yesterday I had to go to my friends dads wake. It was sad. He was only 66 and had fought cancer for quite some time. It was also hard because 16 years earlier my husband was waked in the same room at that funeral home. I had some icky flashbacks. But the run with friends this morning fixed me :)

I ALWAYS get sick on Star Tours. I can ride roller coasters all day long – no problem. But Star Tours totally gets to me.

So fun! I’m working at my run store today. If you’re up in the Los Feliz area, you should stop by! It’s A Runner’s Circle in Los Feliz/Atwater Village, and we are RIGHT off the 5 ;) suuuper fun hahah

Reply

Ohhhh my goodness, those ice cream cones look amazing right now. I might just have to go out and get some myself!!
Did you do your run around the resort? That’s sooo cool.
Today my family and I did a 5km fun run – Color Vibe! It was so much fun and we got nice and messy!
Enjoy the rest of your trip:)

I love Earl of Sandwich!!!

Reply

Looks like so much fun!

I am headed to Colorado to race the Transrockies 120 miler!

Reply

Whaaaaaat?!! Earl of Sandwich does the holiday sandwich year-round now?! Good to know! I usually made it a point to be near EOS around Nov or Dec specifically for that sandwich lol!

Reply

I can’t wait to be there and run the Dumbo Double Dare soon – my first trip to Disneyland!

Reply

That exact ride made me SOOO sick…I basically ran off of it and had to sit outside in the fresh air. I will NEVER go on that again! My family still makes fun of me for moving so fast once I could get off of it!

Reply

Yeah – what app do you use for your steps? That’s amazing! Looks like you are having fun :)

Reply

What a fun day with good food and good company! Number one on the agenda today was running on some newly found trails… Mission accomplished!

Reply

Ugh, Star Tours is the worst! At least you did it late in the day.

Reply

All of that food looks amazing… The rides? I’m not sure I could keep my stomach for anything too crazy! And crab nachos?! Unique and definitely worth a try someday. I really need to make my way to disneyland in the future!

Long run planned for tomorrow around 10 miles, then sourdough waffles and church with my fam. Have a wonderful weekend, Janae!

My agenda for today included cleaning my apartment, laundry and relaxing :) Looks like you are enjoying Disneyland!

My cousin got motion sick after the Star Tours at Disney World. I never heard of people having issues before it turned to 3-D, and I don’t like 3-D anyway. I know the movement plus 3-D can’t help at all.

Reply

Oh wow! Those crab nachos look amazing! And, I too love Earl of Sandwich! I always have to stop there when we go to Downtown Disney.

What a fabulous day! And those nachos look amazing!
