Throwback Thursday to the hardest race of my life and my true love arrived on my doorstep.

The purple PureFlow 4s.

They just arrived yesterday on my parents’ doorstep and we embraced for a bit.  They came just in time for marathon training to start on MONDAY!

IMG 2513

Won’t this purple color just look so good with my bright red and especially sweaty face that comes along with summer training?

Brooke gets super excited anytime we see anything that is purple and then she says, ‘Mama, look… it’s your FAVORITE color.’  She knows what’s up.

IMG 2516

Just the usual summer afternoon shenanigans going down in Brooke’s world.  I had a big piece of lettuce in my teeth so I cropped that out for your viewing pleasure.

IMG 2539

We tried out Ivie Juice Bar in Provo for the first time.

IMG 2541

I went for the Beach Babe and Brooke chose the Sunrise smoothie.

IMG 2551

Another check for our ‘eat something cold and refreshing each day this summer’ streak.   I could eat this acai bowl every day of my life and be happy.  Utah people—>  try this place out!

IMG 1849

Costco won Brooke’s heart when they had princess nightgowns.  I have a feeling it is never going to come off.

IMG 1855

Who needs a foam roller when you have a toddler that will walk up and down your legs for that deep tissue massage that runners need so badly.

TBT to last June (14th, so almost a year ago) when I had the hardest race of my life.  The Utah Valley Marathon is going on this weekend but I will be in Seattle so I will miss out this year (I run the full or half almost every year).   The race is incredible and insanely gorgeous but man… I hit the wall 40593 times last year during the marathon.

I was coming back from injury (5 weeks of only pool running leading up to the race) and mentally I was a wreck.  BUT it is races like this one that make us so much stronger.  I remember thinking about this race and how I finished it even though I was THIIIIIIISSSSS close to quitting during the Boston Marathon two months ago.   When things started to get really hard (around mile 22) at Boston I just kept thinking about how I finished an even harder race (for me) in the past and it helped me to push through the fatigue again!

Bad races happen.  It’s normal.

NewImage

I sweep my floors every day yet somehow there is always popcorn on the floor under my desk (aka the kitchen table).

Popcorn is currently the base of my food guide pyramid.

My hardest race was my marathon last month through high humidity. I ended up not being able to finish because I had lost so much water. It was awful!

Currently I’m addicted to cashews!

Reply

The hardest race of my life was a half marathon I ran with a migraine! I will NEVER do that again.

Reply

been there. Nice job gettin’ it done.

Thanks Tess!

Hardest race of my life was the MCM in 2013 because I was stubborn and ran injured. I couldn’t accept dropping out so close to the race and though I finished, I 100% regret it! Live and learn!

Reply

I’ve never had an acai bowl. This needs to be remedied.

I am on my way to Provo right now for the marathon! Woohoo!

I’ve been doing a lot of popcorn lately too. I’m loving lightly salted stuff – hits the spot when I’m craving something salty, which is a lot since it’s getting hot out!

Reply

Was Utah Valley the one your sis ran some flip flop miles with you? I remember reading that recap… You have an awesome, supportive family and a hardcore mindset yourself :)

Hardest race: flying monkey marathon
Addicted to kiwi!
Acai topping: toasted coconut

The hardest race of my life was last summer. It was a 15K, it was probably a million degrees outside, and every step I took felt like I was stepping on a knife. I finished, but it wasn’t pretty at all.

I’m addicted to Wheat Thins. I have been my whole life. I carry them in my purse at all times.

I’ve never had an acai bowl. Honestly, I’ve always been hesitant to try one, but I might have to if they are that delicious!

Reply

I love acai bowls! Blueberries, strawberries, banana, granola, and agave nectar are essential toppings!!!

Reply

It’s hard to believe marathon training starts again so soon!

I think if you don’t have a bad race than you are lying. I’ve had a few really mentally challenging as well as just straight up bad. My most mentally challenging race was the marathon a few months ago but also a half I did in 2012. Both I was u honestly unsure I would finish!

Reply

The look on your face in that picture…I’ve felt that before. I trained for my first marathon and got injured about a month out from the race. I took it easy and decided I would be fine for race day. I was NOT FINE! The race took me 5 hours and 13 minutes to complete and I walked with a cane for a week afterwards! I learned a few valuable lessons with that race.

I’ve never had an acai bowl! Can we get some when I come visit? :) Also, the water in Utah Lake is such a beautiful color….almost see through?!?!?

Reply

This is going to sound stupid because it’s a 100 mile race and duh, it’s hard, but yeah… my first and only (so far) 100 miler. I wanted to quit at 75 SOOOOO BAAAADDDD, but something in me (plus some salt potatoes) lit a fire, and I kept going until I finished all 100 miles. The pain and nausea were excruciating, I was exhausted, bored, going crazy… and I can’t wait to do another one!
I’m currently addicted to strawberries. And “everything” bagels. Yum!
Never had an acai bowl, but that one you have there looks delish, so I’m thinking I should find out how to get my hands on one ASAP.

Reply

Hardest race of my life was actually a super-hot, straight up a mountain, wine country 5k. It may have only been a 5k, but those were the hardest 3 miles I have ever run! I had to walk A LOT.

Reply

I am always finding popcorn under my work chair as well. Always. The hardest race was a 1/2 a few years ago. It was a 1/2 in prep for a full and I was just OFF that day. And it was miserable. When the marathon came around and I just kept telling myself, nothing can be as bad as that race. The marathon happened and it was GREAT!! I am always addicted to apple and pb.

Reply

Favorite acai bowl toppings = almond butter + shredded coconut.

My last marathon in March, I hit a MAJOR wall at Mile 22 and just kept telling myself, “you can do ANYTHING for one more mile. Okay, now you can do ANYTHING for one more mile.” I also called the Man upstairs and just prayed, “Can you please move my legs for me?!” ;)

Have a great morning!!

Reply

I think my hardest race was just last month at the LI Half Marathon. It was hot and sunny, I skipped the first water station which was a huge mistake and I had been sick a few days earlier. Even though I felt 100% better, this race was brutal for me! I made it through though (but don’t plan on running it next year lol). Three years in a row is enough.

Reply

The hardest race of my life was my first marathon. Took me 5 and a half hours to finish. I fell apart even before hitting double digit miles. I was so nervous. It was the NYC marathon.

Lately I can’t get enough of tabouleh salad. Parsley, bulgar such a weird combo but tastes so good…

Reply

you sweep every day?!!! whoa. I need to do that… currently it’s like once every 3 weeks. oops :)

Reply

I’ve been drinking lots of iced coffee recently. It’s actually sunny in the UK which is pretty rare, so I am making the most of it :)

Reply

mmmm that bowl looks awesome. i’d definitely want mango in mine, and granola. i’ve only run one full marathon so far, so i’d say that’s def the hardest race i’ve done, and it totally made me appreciate halves. :)

Reply

Weirdly I haven’t had a hard race yet! My knee was acting up on my last marathon, but it was the day after my wedding and my husband and I ran it together (his first, my third) so I really wasn’t thinking about my knee as we were just having fun!

Reply

My hardest race was my half marathon a few months ago. I went out too fast over some tough hills and my legs were burning from mile 8 on as I just tried to keep a decent pace.
I’m currently addicted to any and all fruit: blueberries, peaches, anything fresh and in season.

Reply

Currently living off of frozen pineapple in Greek yogurt! So good!

Reply

Hardest race of my life was my second marathon where I had to walk the last 6 miles. I had hit the wall, was running undertrained and injured.. just not smart all around. Currently addicted to goldfish… can’t stop won’t stop. Best acai bowl topping = blue berries, frozen banana, shredded coconut!

Reply

Hardest race was a 10 miler a Walt Disney World – The Tower of Terror 10 miler. It was a night race in the fall but it was so hot and humid. Within just a few miles my arms were swelling and tingling. It was the worst.

Currently loving popcorn and peaches — but not at the same time!

I’ve never had an acai bowl. Maybe I should?

Reply

Hardest race was Milton Keynes 2014 in London. I fell hard at mile 4 due to I attention to cobble stones. I still had 9 miles of up and down rolling hills to go & it was unseasonably hot. I ended up with blood trickled down my shin and blisters on my feet, but I fi ished!!!

Reply

Hardest race of my life was easily the 48 hour adventure race I did a couple of weekends ago. It is taking so long to recover and I have never needed to push so hard but it was SO worth it! :)

Reply

I am definitely going to have to try an acai bowl! They look delicious but I have no idea where to get one in Northern Colorado. Lately I have been addicted to my homemade trail mix!

Reply

I am diverging from the question to just tell you the hardest run because it is the one that initially came to mind. It was a mental wreck before the start and I could not stop sobbing along the way. I told myself to just keep running until the sweat would mean it was not possible to make any more tears.

Currently addicted to wheat thins.

Reply

My hardest race was last years NYC Marathon. The wind and weather got to me (I’m from Florida) and I ended up going to the medical tent for hypothermia. It was COLD.

Reply

Hardest race for me was probably the freedom run in Provo years ago. It’s a short and fairly easy race, I just wasn’t ready for it before I signed up. I had taken a long running break and thought it would be easier than it was to get back into it. Learned my lesson. I was super frustrated with myself because I did aweful.

I haven’t ever heard of Ivie juice bar. I will be looking for it now though, those look yummy. Our favorite snack right now is Pop corn, ice cream, or fresh fruit. Thank heaven for yummy summer fruit!

Reply

I’ve only tried an acai bowl once when we went on a trip to San Diego. It was super yummy! I’d imagine blueberries and kiwi would be great on it.
My hardest race was RNR Raleigh in 2014. I had great training leading up to it, but got a cold on the way up there. I just felt super sluggish the whole time. I made myself get to the finish. I knew I’d be super disappointed when all my friends walked around with their medals the rest of the afternoon and I didn’t have one!

Reply

I have to figure out where acai bowls are sold in Chicago – they look so good. Not sure I’ve had that bad of a race yet since I am less experienced , but I am super nervous (and excited) about my first marathon in October. Some of my longer runs have been significantly harder than others – still trying to figure out the mental aspect of surviving those! Popcorn, yes! Any and all kinds. If you like spicy, the jalapeno kind from nature box is pretty good – but they need to make a bigger bag!

Reply

We’ve got this local small-town race that is huge now but the first year they had the marathon the course wasn’t very well supported. And for some reason, my stomach acted up and I was barely making it from portapotty to portapotty. I think my bum muscles were more tired than my legs were just from squeezing my cheeks together so much.

Reply

I think the ZOOMA Half in Annapolis two weeks ago was my hardest (even compared to my marathons). I just wasn’t acclimated to the humidity, and it kicked my butt! The hills didn’t help much either!

Love the popcorn trail! That just might look like the floor under my desk chair! :-)

Reply

I ran Utah Valley last year as well! The wind was killer! I was trying to qualify for Boston, but finished a few minutes shy! I remember reading your recap and I was so impressed with how fast you managed to run it despite all that hurt!

Reply

Yea you look like you’re in soo much pain in that pic. Only runners would understand why we put ourselves in so much pain
Haha
That bowl looks soo good. I’ve been eating tons of ice cream lately.!!

Reply

Now you’ve got me craving popcorn pretty bad! I can polish off a bucket by myself in no time at all though, so I’ve got to be careful!

Those acai bowls look so yummy! I’ve actually been addicted to sour gummy worms lately. Superrr healthy, I know ;)

Reply

Pretty purple shoes! And I don’t think that acai bowls have made it to where I live, but I’m very curious!

Reply

My hardest race would have to be a 10k two years ago. I had been preparing for my first half marathon when I got injured. This was only my second run back and I had all those thoughts running through my head, “Is it going to hurt again? If so, when? Will I be able to finish?” It was a repeat loop and that second loop was a hard one. The heat and humidity was rediculous and add to that a very boring repeat of the first 5k and it was all about pushing through. It was a combination of mental strength and physical determination. I stuck with a good pace and finished strong. Afterwards I felt like I was going to throw up, (especially seeing food!) so I had to walk it out for a while. That heat/humidity was crazy. But headed into a half marathon this race gave me the confidence that I can dig deep and get it done.

Reply

The hardest race of my life was the Dole Great Race of Agoura Hills half marathon in March of 2014. I was under trained, over stressed (I had just moved across the country from Massachusetts to California), and had never run in mountains like that before – it was only a half marathon but I felt like it was never going to end!

Reply

My hardest race was in Chicago two summers ago. I thought I was going to die from the heat and humidity. Living in the desert, I’m not used to training in humidity. It’s gross and sweaty. I don’t like it and for that reason will avoid races in cities that are in the summer with high humidity. Available bowl toppings! Peanut butter, chia seeds and strawberries.

Reply

Now all I can think about is acai bowls- luckily my local froyo shop sells them- must have one for breakfast tomorrow after Barre/Run!

Reply

I’m addicted to popcorn too!! I keep finding it in the couch crevices :)

Never had an acai bowl although they are abundantly available on every corner on NYC

I love reading your (everyone who has commented) stories of tough races and how to get through the, it’s so incredibly inspirational.

My toughest race was my very first 10 mile race (the broad street race in Philadelphia) It was my first run >5k, and of course the day before the race (which is first Sunday in May) we kept getting warning emails about the unexpected heat >90 degrees with humidity and to keep hydrated. The turned on the fire hydrants throughout the entire race. It was hot!!!! And difficult! But I have ran it every year since for the past 6 years and have run 3 halves after. Everything just felt easy after that race!

Xoxo

Reply

The hardest race was my last half here in my pretty little hometown. I wanted so much to have a GREAT race and was right where I wanted to be at mile 6. Then…BAM!… I ran the last half with “the runs” and that pretty much changed my perspective on having a successful race. :) Sometimes not quitting and not giving in=PR. (Believe me, my mind and my body were seriously against me!) I KNOW it made me a stronger runner. YAY for that.
Please send that acai bowl through the computer..it looks beyond yummy! Current favorite snack..crisp sugar peas in the pod. Crunchy and sweet. Win. Win.
Have a wonderful day!!

I NEED to know what your nail color is and where you got them done! I have noticed it in quite a few posts now and I am obsessed!! It looks like you and Brooke are having an awesome summer, I love reading about your fun times!

Reply

I hardly ever comment but since I love your relationship with your Sissy- was this the marathon she ran for a few miles in jeans and flip flops? I cried reading that post. You guys are the best!

And PS: from one Mom to another- you are great!

Reply

Hardest race of my life: Hunstville Marathon 2011 (my very first marathon and also the first year of Huntsville). That downhill is insane and I didn’t train for it. I walked the last half. Ouch.

My favorite snack I can’t get enough of these days is Just Mango from TJs paired with pistachios. Wash it down with ice cold water and it’s the perfect summer snack. Sweet, salty, crunchy, chewy!

Reply

Definitely worse things than popcorn could be on your floors. I sweep twice a d ay a d my son is still covered in dog fur when he gets off the floor!!

Reply

I did my first 1/2 marathon a month ago. It was an accident. I was suppose to do the 5K and thought I had registered for the 5K but whn we passed the sign that indicated 5K and there was no finish line, it kept going, no one looked at all finished, I realized what I had done. I thought this was good because I wasn’t all freaked out about it now and over thinking it. I thought what have I got to lose? I can do this! So I sauntered on and I finished! And I was sore the next day but I was less sore the 2nd day and the 3rd day I wasn’t sore at all! I was so proud of myself! Now I think I could do it again and again! Granted, I didn’t run the entire way but I ran as much of it as I possibly could and didn’t know I had it in me to keep going, to keep going back to running!
I want to know what shoes those are btw! I love Brooks shoes! I pretty much broke my brooks that I was wearing at the 1/2 so I need new ones my feet are killing me in the ones I have so it’s not good thing.

Reply

The hardest race of my life was the Seattle Marathon. I underestimated the hills between miles 20-24 and did not train properly. It was a brutal day. I missed my BQ by 5 minutes and was sore for weeks. The concrete did not help!

It was also one of the best experiences for me because I learned a lot that day. Sometimes our worst moments can teach us more than our best moments – and make those best moments possible.

Reply

Hardest race of my life was the Big Sur marathon this year…I underestimated the amount of hills and it was quite a rude awakening…on top of that, I had just found out I was preggo a week before the race and decided to run it with my doctors ok. The course was incredibly humbling BUT it’ll probably be a great story to tell my child in the future, haha, he/she ran that tough as nails race with me :)

Reply

I’m so glad that you introduced me to the PureFlows! I love the 3 and I recently got the 4’s and my run with them yesterday was amazing. Best shoe ever, but I wish I got them in purple too!

Hardest race of my life was my first Pittsburgh marathon. It’s a really challenging course (super hilly!) and it was over 80 degrees that day. I didn’t think that I could finish and was in so much pain. I even took a shot of beer at mile 23 because I figured I might as well try to enjoy the last few miles!

Reply

It’s refreshing to see a race photo where someone looks like I feel a lot of my races!! My hardest race – heck, they’re all hard. It’s all out on race day!!

Reply

I did a 15K in April that was MISERABLE because it was 3 loops of a 5K course, so you had to run through the finish TWICE before you actually finished. Also their were no trees and it was mostly through a business park. However, there were peacocks. But I decided I’m sticking to the 5K next time, because the “fake” finishes are just cruel.

My husband teaches K-2 and frequently has children’s snacks on hand so right now I am addicted to goldfish crackers.

I’ve never had an acai bowl but I like berries on top of EVERYTHING. Raspberries are my jam right now.

Reply

Mmm, that acai bowl looks amazing!!! I love granola, nut butter, and lots of fruit on top!

You sweep your floors everyday? That’s impressive! Wanna come do mine? ;)

Reply

Hi Janae! I had my first acai bowl in the fall and now even make them at home, which is surprisingly easy. I like to add a nut butter to acai, so it has extra protein. Otherwise, those things only keep me full for like an hour!

Reply

The hardest race for me so far was my first half marathon. I was coming back from an injury and hadn’t really trained so I was a mess. It was a real struggle and I wasn’t sure if I could make it but the feeling when I crossed that finish line was indescribable!

Reply

Janae, do you know if the juice bar is a chain? I’m so intrigued by that acai bowl!

It’s such a good trick to think back on hard things we’ve conquered (or at least survived) to get through something difficult. I’ll have to remember this tip! It reminds me of my favorite mantra: I can do hard things!

Reply

Hey Katie! It isn’t a chain:( Come to utah and try it out!!!

Reply

I had my first acai bowl like 7 years ago when I visited Brazil and it was the most delicious thing I’ve ever had. I ate one every day for breakfast. I love that places here and making them more and more and I need to find one in Chicago!

Reply

The hardest race of my life was simultaneously my favorite…The Badger Mountain 50k, which occurs in a part of Washington that has NO tree protection….the day of the race, there was severe wind (gusting up to 80 mph) and I was running over three mountains. I have never been so scared in my life then the moments on those exposed ridges where the wind was keeping me from moving in a straight line. There were tumbleweeds flying everywhere and at one point, we got stuck in a sand storm (dirt and sand blowing that hard in your face really hurts). There was nothing that I could do but laugh at the situation. Honestly, the fickle weather gave me something to focus on besides the race and I had a blast.

Tacos. Always tacos.

I’m not sure they have acai bowls in Idaho….hahaha :)

Reply

I am currently addicted to string cheese. Yum! Yes, I even eat it both ways – pealing it and also just taking bites out of it.

Reply

The only comment I have (is that even possible for me) is that if you didn’t say that picture of Brooke in the nightgown was indeed Brooke, I would have thought it was Curly. They are twins. And she looks adorable in that nightgown. So cute, in fact, I wouldn’t care if she never took it off either.

Reply

Is that the race where your sister ran part of it with you in jeans and flip flops?! I love that story! You guys both amaze me! :)

My hardest race was also my favorite race. My first marathon… Disney this past January. Around mile 17 my IT band started to act up, and for the next few miles I struggled and was sure I was not going to make it. I made it though! And, I’ve never been happier or more proud. :)

Reply

The hardest race of my life was the 2014 Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon. I was coming off a hamstring injury and hadn’t done any running in about 3 weeks before the race. I decided to give it a try on race day and everything went fine until about mile 20. I hit the wall and hit it hard. I started walk/running and managed to push myself to finish. Such an emotional finish line.

Reply

Just like the reader above me said, I thought that first picture of Brooke in the nightgown was Curly! They are like sisters instead of cousins.

Also, whenever we talk about hard running conditions, my husband reminds me that it’s better than running in jeans and flip flops like your sister did. (I told him about it after I read that post last year). You are both so tough for finishing that race.

Reply

I love that your husband says that. Thanks so much!! I totally agree—> they totally look like sisters!

Reply

Running Utah Valley this year.
Hardest race = a 10K…takes me forever to warm up and hit my stride.
Good luck at Seattle!

Reply

I just tried your grapes/cottage cheese combo after much hesitation and I must say…life changing. Thank you for this fabulous recommendation! I should’ve listened sooner.

Reply

I hope you learned your lesson and from now on you will try my food recommendations right away:) HAHAH JK! Glad you loved it!!

Reply

All of my longer races have gone really well so far. I did have a horrible 5k that I had planned to do while expecting but then was no longer expecting :-( by the time of the race and I should have just not ran it. It was hard physically but even more hard mentally.

I am hooked on strawberries right now! They are so great this time of year and are every wear!

I have never had an acai bowl yet Im going to go on Yelp and see where I can get one in Philadelphia haha.

How is the toe box on the Pure Flow 4? I loved how wide it was on the 2s

Reply

Thus far the Portland Marathon has been my toughest race. I hit the wall at mile 20 and cramped up, but I finished! Afterwards I was so exhausted and out of my element that I opened the car door into my head-I have a little scar as a momento :)
I’m currently on a FODMAP diet so food has been a bit of a struggle lately. I’m finding solace in smoothies and some gluten free crackers.

Reply

Brooke looks so cute & intense sipping her smoothie! love!

My hardest race was London Marathon last year. The heat got to me and probably the lack of proper training due to injuries and I collapsed at around mile 21 due to heat exhaustion. I spent an hour and a half in the first aid tent but refused to give up as it was a once in a lifetime kind of thing in London, it’s so hard to get a place in the ballot. So I eventually got up and walked/jogged the last 5ish miles. I finished in 5:30 and got my medal even though the aim was 3:30. As you said, tough races do happen.

Reply

Incredible that even though it was so tough for you, you pushed through and finished! That is such an accomplishment and you should be so proud!

As for acai bowls, I have yet to try one (and I live in California…. I know) soooo that needs to happen ASAP.

xo

Reply

My hardest race was the 2013 Chicago Marathon. Anything after 20 miles is a whole new world. Anything chocolate is on my addiction list lately. :)

Reply

I used to get an acai bowl almost every Monday night for a semester in college because I had night class. We’d break halfway through, I’d run downstairs to the juice/smoothie place and get the simplest, most delicious acai bowl ever. Just acai, bananas, apple juice, granola and honey!

Reply

The hardest race of my life was the 2014 Princess Half Marathon, it was 100% humidity (I am NOT exaggerating for effect here, I’m being literal) and I had never run in humidity before. I’d trained my entire running career (almost exactly one year at that point) in Utah. I seriously thought I was going to die. Like you, I always think about that race when I feel like quitting and it has motivated me across 6 subsequent finish lines since then.

Reply

Snacks… does Ben and Jerry’s count? I’ve been addicted to ice cream recently.

Reply

I can’t believe I have never had an acai bowl!
Hardest race: last year’s Ventura Marathon at mile 18 = ugh!
I am also addicted to popcorn!!

Reply

I may be emotional right now, but I remember you blogging about that race and every time I think about your sister running with you (in flip flops! at your pace!), I tear up. That’s definitely my favorite blogger race recap, even though it was your worse race.

Reply

Aww. I wondered who the girl was in jeans next to you in the race photo and gathered from other comments that it was your sister. It’s true that races like that can put things in perspective. I’m training for a fall marathon and trying to do all the injury-prevention I can to keep myself as fit as possible on race day.

Reply

http://www.shootskdenaloha.com/would-i-ever-do-it-again-the-2015-phoenix-marathon-recap/ … i know, I blog dump. I know that’s bad etiquette. But it’s easier to just show instead of tell. You’re “big time”… and not sure how many comments you get to read. But if you get a moment, this was the hardest race, from a different point of view.

Reply

I scrolled past that post on my Facebook feed kind of quickly at first and thought that picture was of you snuggling a puppy! I was like yay, she finally got one! But no, just running shoes. I should have known lol.

Reply

There is NOWHERE in Omaha that has acai bowls. It’s so sad. :(

Reply

One of my hardest was “just” a 10k (not just, 10k’s are hard & fast right?! but not your full marathon stories :). I had to fight for every step from the time the gun went off to the end. My legs were dead. It was a big race and there was a tumble of runners that fell down before me and I almost went down with them – freaked me out from the start!

The acai bowls sound good – but holy Sugar!

Reply

-My first 5k (about 2 years ago ) was my worst. I was so in my head and had lots of negative thoughts…terrible :(
-I’m loving pistachio’s right now!!

Reply

Oh man I just switched from the pureflow 2 to the pureflow 4 and the 4’s feel so much tighter! They were making my foot go numb (and I loosened the laces quite a bit)… Did you have to make any adjustments when you changed to the pureflow 4? It seems like the tongue is a lot fatter and bigger and it squeezes my foot. Then again I’ve only run in them once so maybe I need to break them in more? Good luck at Seattle RnR, I’ll be running it too! :)

Mmm that Acai bowl place looks great!
