What we’ve been up to.

10 things we’ve been up to the last little bit!

1.  Going to see MEGAN BECAUSE SHE HAD HER BABY!  There is just something so amazing about newborns. and she is the most perfect little thing you will ever see.

IMG 5672

2.  Petting every dog that comes within 100 feet of us.

IMG 5542

3.  Stopping at every coke/diet coke display to try to find my name on a bottle.  Someday.  Someday.

IMG 5638

I had to settle for an Eric bottle last weekend at the beach.

IMG 5258

4.  Eating at Cafe Rio because they sent us meal cards to celebrate my divorce being finalized.  They are kind of our favorite.

IMG 5677

5.  Selling my wedding ring.  That was weird.  They gave Brooke a cookie though so she was happy.

6.  Eating little orange pieces of what heaven tastes like.

7.  Going to our favorite store. Underneath the diapers is an amazing mattress topper because I am on the mission to have the world’s most comfortable bed in my new apartment because I really like sleeping (and watching hulu in bed) a lot.

IMG 5768

8.  TWO night yoga classes this week already.

IMG 5774

9.  Eating this amazing post-yoga/pre-bed snack/meal.

IMG 5284

10.  Hanging out on the wood floor with our favorite blankets… okay, just Brooke has been doing that lately.

Favorite type of dried fruit?

Last type of cross-training that you did?

How has your week been so far on a scale from 1-10?  Why?

I reluctantly watch the finale with my husband – see he’s kind of obsessed and I’m not a fan! I’m honestly just sick to death of that show ;)

My favorite dried fruit? There are few that don’t bother my stomach so maybe dried bananas. They also taste like candy :)

It’s funny how you can takes kids to the oddest places and if they get a cookie or a lollipop then THAT’s how they’ll always remember it.

Glad you sold the ring!

I’ve yet to find my name on a Coke bottle. Curse them for being such marketing geniuses!

Reply

I’m world’s worst cross trainer but I’m going to a really popular new spin class Friday and I’m GENUINELY TERRIFIED cause spin hurts my weak little legs.

My week has been a little insane because of a crazy work load, BUT we are expecting a “cold front” in Texas today and THAT gives me something to look forward to!

Reply

Did you sell the ring around the jewelry store it was bought from? Or did you go to a pawn shop? I need to do this still and it’s something I’m dreading.

Reply

Hey Laura! Yes, I sold it back to the jewelry store that I bought it from! I am so sorry that you are in the position that you are selling yours too! Hugs from me and Brooke!

Reply

I can’t tell who looks happier, the little doggie or Brooke :)

I’ve been having really great runs this week, and have been sticking to my yoga and stretching routines which I had gotten lazy with the previous couple of weeks (definitely paid for it with a tight hip)!

I bet #5 was weird but cathartic in a way.

Reply

mmm I love dried mango!!! It’s probably my favorite, unless chocolate covered raisins count…

Reply

The finale was pretty typical, and I’m glad for who she picked. I think it was the After the Final Rose show that turned a little weird though….definitely stalker-ish behavior from the guy who didn’t win.

My week has been good, but will be even better because my youngest sister is coming to visit, and my daughter gets to see her cousins again!

And I love places that feed my child things, because it makes her happy (she loves food like I do). :)

Reply

I totally agree! After the final rose was by far a show for the books!

Reply

I can’t even imagine how it feels to sell your wedding ring. Must have been tough. :(

Reply

It’s really too bad that I don’t like dried fruit! I actually don’t eat fruits anymore…but I do like eating eggs! http://thefitty.com/2014/07/29/the-a-b-c-blt-wiaw-5/

That yoga studio looks really big and nice! Do yhey offer acro yoga there?

Reply

Ok, maybe I’m weird, but I think dried mango tastes like carrots. But, I probably am weird, because my favorite dried fruit is prunes!
I’m glad you sold your ring – I mean, why hang on? Might as well make a little off of it! Yet I’m sure it was another difficult minute for you – but your attitude stays positive. Keep smiling :)

Reply

Thanks Gracie! And about the carrots thing… NOOOOO!! Now I will think that every time I eat dried mango hahaha! Have an amazing day!

Reply

I don’t eat alot of dried fruit but I do really like raisins! I haven’t been cross training much lately…the last few weeks I went swimming but my form is still pretty awful. I end up with alot of chlorine water up my nose:)

Reply

I love dried mango! I keep it on hand to eat when I’m craving candy because it’s THAT good! :)

Reply

I’ve been craving Cafe Rio since I left Blend in June. I wish they’d come to the Midwest!

Reply

I’ve been thinking the exact same thing!

Reply

I haven’t found my name yet either :(
I have been seriously lacking on the exercise front lately. And the weather has been perfect-I don’t know what’s up with me. My week has been about a 2 and probably because a lack of exercise-ha!
I don’t eat a lot of dried fruit, but I do like raisins.
Brooke is so adorable!

Reply

Oh I am a bachelor/bachelorette junkie. I was very happy with the ending even though this wasn’t my favorite season. I taught a pump and spin class this morning and will be teaching bootcamp, abs, and booty blast in an hour….a good mix today! Buy yourself something amazing with that ring money!

Reply

Janae you are such a strong and inspiring woman. Not just because you sold your wedding ring, but because you also had the courage to share a vulnerable moment with us.

I’m currently making a hard decision that will mean overcoming some fears, and you keep reminding me “We can do hard things”.

Thanks for always being a bright ray of sunshine in the day :)

Reply

Thank you so much Shelly! Good luck with your hard decision, you’ve got this!!!

Reply

Oh and congratulations Megan!

Reply

Thanks! :)

Reply

The last cross-training I did was yoga and this was the first yoga class I had taken since I started running hardcore. I was amazed at how much less flexible I was! I can definitely see the added benefit that a regular yoga class would bring to my exercise routine! Also, I can’t get over how cute Brooke is. Those gold sandals!!

Reply

I absolutely love dried mango! It tastes just like candy!

Reply

My parents divorced when I was 22 and it was shocking. My mom said the other day and she still has the ring and asked if I wanted it. Not sure what I’ll do it and she’s putting the diamond in a new setting, that I picked out. I’m hoping my son will want to use it one day. It’s a family diamond and I’d hate to get rid of it. I know this whole experience has been draining but you’ve handled it well on here.

Reply

When my aunt and uncle divorced they gave the ring to my cousin. She had it made into a really beautiful necklace that she wears as a reminder that, no matter what happened, her parents loved each other once.

Reply

I think it is so cool of Cafe Rio to send you congratulatory coupons. I wish we had one near me! It looks so good every time you post!

Have you seen this photo about the Coke Name thing? Cute. :)

Dried mango is my favorite and pineapple is a close second! The last cross-training I did this week was… mowing the lawn? That counts I guess!

Reply

I don’t love dried fruit…but I like dried mandarin oranges and raisins :)
To be honest…I can’t stand the bachelor/bachelorette shows. I think the whole idea of the show is a bit ridiculous. Just my opinion though :)
I would have to say 9 for the week…nothing amazing but it is summer, great weather and I had a great speed workout yesterday…so I am going with a 9!

Reply

Congratulations to Megan!! Newborn snuggles are the best! Oh, and I’ll never find my name on a bottle of diet come either. The other day I picked up “coworkers” just because haha!!

My week is an 8. My little guy is sick but I’m close to a huge monthly mileage goal and I am on holidays in 9 days!! Woot Woot!

Bachelorette finale was great! I love that show and seeing two people in love (even if they just met a few months before!) I’m a sucker for romance ;)

Reply

I just did a Jessica Smith youtube video. They’re great at-home workouts for me. Gets me to do something on the days when I’m not supposed to run but don’t feel like going to the gym! Love snuggling on the floor with blankeys. Brooke knows what’s up.

Reply

I love yoga! I teach a yoga/pilates class 1-2x/week and I always feel so much better after the class. It just makes your body feel good!

Reply

Gah!!!!
I LOVE this week’s Bachelorette! It was totally the best, WAY better than last season’s finale haha.. I talk as if I’m a Bachelorette fan but I’ve only watched 2 finales haha.

Fun pics!

Reply

Dried apricots!
Today is my first day back to work in a week. I was on vacation. And I seem to have brought the amazing San Francisco weather home with me. Score!

Taking the week off from exercise to heal my aches and such. Just walking the dog and perhaps a kettle bell swing here or there.

Reply

Dried apples and I actually like a blend of different tropes of raisins! Trader joes sells a jumbo raisin medley that is sooooo good. Is it weird that I get so excited over shriveled grapes?

Reply

I went to Costco yesterday, too! Happiest place on Earth. And I also did some yoga cross training yesterday. I need to do more of it. I can’t even imagine how weird it must have been to sell your wedding ring. I hope now you can put the past behind you and move toward your bright future with your beautiful little girl.

Reply

I love dried apricots!

Last cross training I did was cycling and swimming. The joys of triathlon training =)

Reply

The week has been pretty good! You should try TJS chili spice mango, that’sy favorite!
I had some iced chocolate milk last night- delicious!

Reply

Favorite type of dried fruit will always be Banana Chips!!! Love those to pieces, they are just way too good!! I’ve been loving my nightly stretches, always so relaxing, and it’s nice to see progress :)

Reply

I highly suggest fast forwarding the finale of the Bachelorette (most of it is the usual “I’m so nervous” and “I don’t know what I’m going to do” stuff) and just skipping to the awkwardness that is the last 20 minutes and the after show. Man, if there’s one thing that show knows how to do well it’s an awkward moment!

Reply

i dont think i’ll find my name on a DC bottle either… at least not Karla with a K :)

this is the first season i didnt watch of the bachelorette/bachelor. i got rid of cable and dont even turn my tv on anymore unless it’s netflix.

this week has had it’s ups and downs. but already halfway to the weekend!

Reply

Costco has the best mattress toppers :) that’s where mine is from too! I struggle to wake up each morning bc it feels so good haha! My week has been a 10 solely bc I am over the sickness I had last week AND finally able to run again a after having sciatic nerve pain since may. It feels so good to sweat again!

Reply

YAY FOR RUNNING AGAIN!! CONGRATS!

Reply

Janae, how did you decide where to sell your ring and what was a good price for it? (Not asking what you got for it, just how you decided whether to accept what they offered or did you have a certain price in mind, etc)

I have a few rings from my marriage that I need to get rid of myself, so that’s why I’m asking. Good for you for doing it sooner rather than later!

Reply

I went back to where it was bought from… I had a price in mind and they bought it back for really close but honestly, it was more the act of getting rid of it that was more important to me than the $$. Good luck, let me know how it goes!

Reply

Thanks for your reply, girlie!! You.are.awesome!

Reply

I’m kind of over the bachelor/bachelorette. I always start them but then get sick of watching it..oh well! I have had a stressful week, but hopefully it will get better! Great pics by the way!

Does coke/diet coke not count as a sweet?

Reply

The one in the picture at the beach was from before I started the 21 days and I always look for my name just because I really just want to find it:)

Reply

he he ok, I’m trying to eat healthier too and thought you found a loop hole! ;)

Reply

I rowed this morning and it was downright chilly outside in DC in JULY so basically I’m just really excited about everything because I couldn’t ask for better weather in the summer.

Reply

I love dried Pineapple!!!

Congrats to your friends on her new baby!

We got a new puppy yesterday….She is 2 months old (Havanese-Maltese) and today is my youngest son’s 6th birthday so this week has been pretty good so far!

Reply

We stop at every coke stand too just to see if we can find our names. I found my mom’s name last week so that was a success!

Good for you for selling the ring. On to bigger and better things! You are awesome!

Reply

The Bachelorette finale was meh, but apparently After the Final Rose was much more interesting (which, of course, I went to bed once it came on so I’m going to have to watch it online later). My week so far has been a 7-8 out of ten. We’ve been really productive but there’s still a lot to do (including a trip to Costco….holla!).

Reply

Favorite dried fruit: Either cranberries or apricots, depends on my mood.

You sold your wedding ring? Wow, good for you, moving forward like that. I’ve thought about it, but I just can’t yet. I think it would really hurt him, even though he’s the one who left me, not the other way around. (He’s weird like that. Any sign that I’m moving on drives him nuts.)

Reply

Adult braces = no dried fruit for a few more months.

Training this week is off – Sat kayaking event threw off long run to Sun, mid-week 5K for a good cause (Ronald MacDonald House) even more so. Some weeks are like that.
Will get back to it with hot yoga tomorrow & long run Sat!!

Congrats on selling your ring and moving on. Keep Healing!

Reply

Mattress toppers are the best! I used to have one… need to look into getting another! And YUM those dried mangos look really good. I picked up a bag of dried apples the other day and they are amazingggg!

Reply

I found my name on several coke bottles…but I wrote it there. I hope wawa doesn’t figure my name out…hahaha.

Good for you for selling your ring. Where did you sell it? I need to sell a bunch of ex jewelry that has sat in my jewelry box for four years…but I pawn shops around here scare me and I didn’t know where you were supposed to actually take those things.

Reply

You should try the dried mandarin from Trader Joe’s. I don’t even like dried fruit but I am obsessed with that stuff! It’s sweet and tart and you might eat the whole bag in one sitting (like I do).

Reply

I haven’t done much while being pregnant, but I did some prenatal yoga the other night because I’ve been so tight and sore in certain areas lately. That’ll probably become a more regular thing the next few weeks before baby arrives.

Reply

There is a page on the Coke site where you can enter your name and see if they make it on the bottle (can’t remember if you posted that pic, or where I saw it) They sadly don’t make my name either. I know who won but haven’t watched the finale yet, but as a Georgia girl myself, I’m happy!! I love dried pineapple but I know they add way too much sugar to it for it even to be considered healthy anymore.

Reply

Selling your wedding ring must be weird, but kinda like, a good way to close that chapter. You are so strong!

Reply

I love dried blueberries. I use them in place of chocolate chips when I make cookies.

I love using the AMT when I can’t run and making up my own WODs.

Reply

My week has been a 10. What can I say? I am not pregnant anymore and I get to snuggle that new born all day long :) I am so glad you guys came to meet her too.

K. I don’t even like Diet Coke, but when those dang bottles came out I looked online to see if they made one with my name on it (evil marketing geniuses) and they don’t make one! For Megan!! They said ‘congrats! that means you have a unique name’ Ummm ya. Sure thing Coke! NOT.

And I think our friendship might be on the rocks and you will have to do something serious to make up for it. Those dried mangoes? Ya. My mom brought me some in the hospital and holy Hannah. I am in love. So I am a little upset that you knew about them before and have never told me about them. Now I need to try all their other dried fruit. I love apricots and pears too.

The last type of cross training was last Tuesday – the day before I had Felicity – I went lap swimming. Unless feeding and changing diapers is now considered cross training?? I think it should count.

Reply

Megan,
They must have added more names to their Coke bottles, because now you could be the PROUD owner of a bottle with YOUR NAME ON IT! ;)

Reply

My week has been a 2 because I’m sick but can’t afford not to go to work… so that’s fun. Haha looking forward to the weekend already! And that must have been so weird to sell your wedding ring but it’s best to move forward! And who doesn’t want a cookie??

Reply

Is that a Portuguese Water Dog puppy? My PWD puppy is almost 8 now (gasp!) and I still remember how cute an fuzzy he was when he was new. Best dogs ever!

Reply

When I saw that you sold your ring a song immediately popped in my head. . . “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger”!!!! Keep looking ahead!

I am with you about not being able to find my name on anything. . . JARRELLE! I mean really, my parents should have thought this through a little more:-) I do love my name and my parents have always had things specially made with my name so I would never feel left out!!!!
I am currently obsessed with dried Kiwi!!!
My week started off at a 1 but has increased to a 9!!!! And I do not work on Fridays
so one more day until my “Friday”!!!!
Have a blessed and fun day!

Reply

I never watch the Bachelorette until recently, but my friends sucked me into and now I’m shamelessly obsessed. I’m so happy about the finale, but actually feel bad for Nick!

My favorite dried fruit is bananas.

As for cross-training, I’ve totally been doing too much running. A few years ago I would have NEVER thought that I’d say that! But marathon training just started 2 weeks ago. I need to get back into yoga… I’ll put that on my schedule for this week!

My week has been pretty good!! I’d give it an 8 just because it’s been filled with crossing things off my dreaded to-do list. Although that does feel pretty great :)

Reply

I did watch. OMG!!!!

I LOOOOVE dried pineapple! Mmmmm.

I just cross-trained today! I did 25 minutes on spin bike, and a 25 minute crossfit WOD. I felt like the good kind of death afterward, so I went ahead and did some restorative yoga. (I just posted about this!)

My week has been awesome on a scale of 1-10. Because life is good. Because God rocks and blesses me every day! (Sometimes I don’t see it until later, tough.)
That is how the cookie crumbles!

Blessings,
Hannah

That must have been strange to sell your wedding ring, but it’s better than throwing it into the ocean like every movie/TV show (what a waste, right?).
Haha, I guess the no-sugar thing didn’t last too long! Sugar is too good.

Reply

Hahah yeah I am glad I didn’t throw it into the ocean! I am still having fruit etc but just no treats/candy/dessert so I am definitely still doing it!

Reply

Oh, then my mistake and that’s great! I just thought you were having Frosted Mini Wheats from the photo of your bowl.

I never get why characters throw their valuable rings into the ocean. I guess it’s nice and dramatic, but I think your way is much smarter.

Reply

I watched After the Final Rose instead of the finale. Saved 2 hours of my time. :) I think they are a good match and they seem so happy!

I love the dried mango from Trader Joe’s. I just wish one bag = one serving!!

I try to do lots of cross training-barre classes, volleyball, biking, yard work (does that count?), biking…you get the idea. :)

This week has been an 8 so far, but will be a 10 by Friday. I started off with a manicure with a girlfriend on Monday, chores Tuesday, dinner with girlfriends tonight, chores Thursday, and Friday-Sunday is my bachelorette weekend. I am beyond excited!!!

Reply

My week is going great! I just confirmed that I get to be an instructor for a trail running course being offered through the local university! Woohoo!

My last cross training was running stadiums. Does that count as cross training since it’s still running? If not, my last cross training was dead lifts.

I’m happy to see you sold your ring. I’ve been divorced almost 3 years and mine is still just sitting in my safe. No real reason to hold on to it. I think I was kind of using it as an insurance policy for a time when I might need money. ? Hmmmm…the self analysis is non-ending.

Reply

I left my husband three years ago and still have my ring, too. I *could* sell it, but I’m following a similar line of reasoning: I don’t need the money at the moment, so maybe it’s better to hang on to it as a safety net? I’ve also thought about having it reset (I always hated the setting)… there’s no rush to make these decisions, thank goodness :)

Reply

I’ve totally been obsessing over The Bachelorette all season and THANK GOD she picked Josh. I had this feeling in the depths of my stomach that Nick had some creep-tastic stalker tendencies. Turns out, he does!

Reply

You and me both!! I’m so happy she picked Josh he was my favorite since pretty early on in the season. I think they are a good match!

Reply

Favourite dried fruit by far is mango and dates!

Also what are you doing for Brooke’s 2nd birthday? It’s coming up so soon! :)

Reply

Dried pineapple is hands down my favorite, with strawberries coming a close second. The last cross training I did was probably hiking…does that count? I’m terrible at cross training.
My week has started out as a 2. I’ve been so stressed over my little brother breaking up with his girlfriend. I don’t know why this bothers me so much. But I hope it will be a 10 by the weekend because we’re going to Bear Lake!

Reply

I recently discovered dried apricots and dried bananas. I never liked dried fruit before because it kinda stuck in my teeth, but I’m really liking both of them.

My week is a 7. I started back at work last week and have been taking my 3-month-old twins to daycare every day. I’m also doing a Mom bootcamp class early in the mornings. I’ve been tired (and slept late today because of it), but overall life is really great!

Reply

I just don’t think Brooke could get any cuter if she tried!

Reply

I havent been able to do anything really this week so far as I have injured my calf muscle after doing a half last weekend :( I have been getting ready to move to Massachusetts for grad school. I’m really looking forward to it!

Reply

Dried apricots are my favorite by far. I have not tried mango. I made apple chips for the first time ever last weekend. So good!!!

They just opened a Cafe Rio near my house. I can’t wait to get over there and get a huge salad bowl!

Reply

I went through a whole crate of Diet Coke at Walmart and finally found my name! They didn’t have Samantha though (in fact, they don’t make it), just Sam. We have a display in our house with all of our family member’s names that we’ve found. It’s easy to say we’re Diet Coke addicts.
I’m so bad at getting cross training in. I selfishly call my waitressing job to make myself feel better about it. I run around a lot and carry heavy things – so that counts right?

Reply

My week has been a 9. It was my birthday Monday, and I count the whole week around my birthday. Went to a family reunion that that I’ve missed the last couple years- golfed with cousins & uncles, and it was a blast! We played in teams of 4, Best Ball, so it took the pressure off to have every ball hit well. That way the few that I did hit well made me really happy. My team came in 2nd (of 6 teams).
My husband spoiled me on my birthday, and it was a nice day. He even made me spring rolls with shrimp. Yum!

Reply

At Lagoon last weekend, Coke had a booth set up where you could type in a name and it would print out on the can. The line was forever long. I am not a soda fan (I hate the carbonation bubbles) or else I would have been tempted. I did think of you though. :)

Reply

So glad Andi picked the Tampa boy! ( I have a thing for southern gentlemen) ;)

I am pretty darn sure no coke bottle will ever have the name Ginette on it. Maybe in the country where my name comes from. Trip to FRANCE here I come!!!!

Reply

I’m glad you sold the ring! So many women give it back, which I can understand, but I think that after all that happens in a divorce, you deserve to keep it and then do whatever the heck you want with it!

Reply

Dried mango is so good! FYI – not sure if TJ’s sells it (not the one in the picture) but Whole Foods sells it without added sugar.

Reply

there is something about that ‘newborn smell’ isn’t there?!

my week is pretty decent-i spoke to a group of high school students yesterday about owning your own business and my favorite conversations included my gray hairs at 27, how to turn hustlin’ into a career and how to get jobs if you have piercings.

i guess that’s what happens when you move to portland! ha!

Reply

I’m with you on the most comfortable bed ever search!!! It’s an important part of life, bed is. With a new baby, I’ve been missing it lately haha ;) Speaking of new babies, what a little peanut! So sweet! We did watch the Bachelorette finale, and I totally called who she picked from DAY ONE! I’m bummed they didn’t announce the new Bachelor though?!?! What the heck, Chris Harrison??

Have you seen the dried tangerine slices at Trader Joe’s???? Holy YUMMMMMMMM!!!!!!

I do strength training and yoga at home for my cross- training (god bless, Jillian Michaels…she kicks my butt everytime!!!).

I watched the last 10-minutes of “The Bachelorette” finale…then about 1/2 of the “After the Final Rose”. I was laughing at myself over the fact that I was watching any of it. I have mixed feelings about some reality TV these days.

Reply

I love dried mangos from trader joe’s! I also really like getting the dried apple rings. The mangos sell out a lot, so I need to have a back up!!!

Reply

I watched the finale (while cleaning the house! can’t just sit and watch it, I feel lazy) and I was disappointed. I really thought Nick was the one! She chose wrong!

The last cross training workout I did was laps in our apartment’s pool. So nice.

My week has been a 10 so far! My son has been happy every day and we have been out for a few runs, as well as some shopping and other fun stuff.

Reply

I sold my ring a few months ago as well. It was bittersweet. I was very sad because of a marriage that I never assumed in all the world, would one day end. But I also felt it was a step out of my past and into my bright, new future. I hope it felt the same for you!

I read this quote the other day and knowing you’ve gone through a similar situation as I have, I thought of you. It read, “Someone I loved once gave me a box full of darkness. It took me years to understand that this, too, was a gift.”

God works everything for good. We can’t ever forget that!

Reply

WOW. That quote is perfect. Sounds like we have a lot in common. I am glad that things are getting better for you and that you are headed in the right direction. We’ve got this girl!

Reply

We definitely do! Now if I could only learn to use exercise as a channel of therapy like you do!

Fav dried fruit: pineapple :)
Week has been increasing (started at 5; currently a 7)
I have my first half this weekend! I’m very nervous so please pray for me :)

Re: your #5…I have been following your blog for a few months and have to tell you that your demonstration of strength as you go through these life transitions is impressive and you should be proud. I’ve commented before that each day/year gets better and it truly does (speaking from experience). And don’t underestimate the power that your posts have in encouraging other followers that are going through similar situations :)

Reply

Okay so now I want to go to a night yoga class… Mannnn! My yoga mat has gone AWOL in our house move and yoga on a wooden floor isn’t greatly appealing :/

I feel so proud to read about your strength through the past year (even if I don’t actually know you, ha! Blog problems), hope you’re proud of yourself too :)

Reply

I want to sell my ring! Still have troubles letting go unfortunately… Plus I heard u get next to nothing for it lol.

Brooke is adorable :). Love the puppy and her pic.

Reply

Hey, drinking from an Eric bottle is *almost* as good as a Janae bottle, right?

I’ve been rowing, swimming and biking as cross-training this summer because running in the heat is just too hard for me. (I’m a wimp.) I’m excited to see how well you run in the coming months after you’ve been strengthened up by all the cross-training!

Have you seen the no-sugar-added version of dried mangoes at Trader Joes? If you are planning to avoid added sugar, you should totally check them out. Even without the extra sugar, they are soooo tasty!

Reply

I didn’t watch the Bachelorette, but I read spoilers because I’m nosy like that, haha! ;)

Love dried mango and dried apple rings. They remind me of high school, which was an awful time, but they are just too tasty!

I’ve been doing ALL cross training with this injury, but the best this week was definitely a self defense class on Monday night. It was striking combatives based, and it was INCREDIBLE. I felt like I’d finally found something that I’d been looking for without quite knowing what it was until I found it. (I know that doesn’t make much sense, haha…) Definitely going back to sign up for more combatives classes – this is my sweet spot in sports! Actually, I think you might really enjoy a class like that right now. I know running is your sweet spot and a great physical release, but there was something incredibly cathartic about getting to hit things as hard as I could and to literally fight my little heart out. I was on cloud 9 for the next 24 hours. :) Anyway, you are such a strong lady, and you’ve got more people in your corner than you know!

Ugh cross-training is my life right now because of a little achilles issue. It is so nice outside right now too and all I want to do is go for a run! But alas, I have been stuck doing yoga, weights, and a little barre. I should really go out and bike but biking in the city terrifies me!

So far this week is approximately a 4 because I got sick and can’t run. And because I’m overly dramatic when I can’t run. But I am going to the lake this weekend so I have high hopes for the week to get a whooooole lot better!

Hope you bought something really nice for yourself with the money from the wedding ring! You deserve it!

First of all, you look gorgeous in that picture with the ‘Eric’ diet coke. And I love your ray-bans!

I JUST finished watching the Bachelorette finale online. I didn’t watch any episodes besides the first night, hometowns, and men tell all, so I was a bit lost watching the finale. But I think I’m glad she picked Josh after seeing what Nick said/ did afterwards. I do feel bad for him and he seems like a nice guy, but talking (on national live TV) about what they, ya know, did was a low blow. That’s all I have to say about that… Anyway, I hope Andi and Josh are actually happy and in love, but because of the nature of the show, only time will tell. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see (in the tabloids)!

My favorite type of dried fruit would have to be craisins (especially in salads), but I also love apricots and pineapples!

So far my week has been about a 7! Work at J.Crew and all the usual summer stuff has been good, but the only thing making it a 7 is that I came home from a short beach vacation on Sunday so I’m kinda wishing I could go back. Still not a bad week at home thus far. I hope yours is close to a 10 :)

Selling my wedding ring is something that I’ve been putting off. My divorce was very, very unexpected and sudden so it’s been hard for me to take that final step. Good to see that you’re at a place where you can let it go!

Congrats to Megan!!

You sold your ring, wow. You are so inspiring!! Way to have hope & peace with the whole thing.

p.s. is Eric the name of a special guy? ;) Or was it a random coke bottle?

My week is probably a 6. Pretty good, but not amazing. Luckily today is only going to get better, I can feel it! HUGS to you!!

Brooke is such a stylish little girl which says a lot about her mom. My daughter turns one on Aug. 17 so I’m trying to plan outfits for pictures!

LOVE mango dried fruit- the best. Along with pineapple!

My week has been a 3~ there have been some positives, but I really HATE my job and it’s making me miserable.

This site allows you to see if your name is on a bottle: http://www.shareacoke.com/#find

I’ve been running, swimming, cycling, Nike Training Club (fav cross training app BY FAR!), and yoga. All about variety!

I love dates and apricots!

HIIT class and Elliptical for my cross work

I like you did not watch all season of the bachelor, I prefer to watch the end! More entertaining! Seems somewhat staged to me, but enjoyable none the less!

Where did you sell your ring? I’ve been divorced 3 yrs now and just left it in the back of my jewelry box because I didn’t know what to do with it. What was the process like? Ps I trained for a half iron man to get through mine.

Hey to you and Brooke!

My healthy habit is almonds and greek yogurt as my go to snack!

What an awesome give-away!

I love dried apricots!

What’s this cross-training you speak of? I did some body-weight exercises last week. I’m really bad about cross training.

Ugh, my week has probably been about a 6. It would be lower because work has been kind of terrible, but my boyfriend is home after being away for months and my runs have been awesome this week.

My favorite dried fruit is easily cherries. Kinda sour, kinda sweet. Yum.

The bachelorette is a family favorite. (my kids are teens/Tweens) It has so many “teachable” moments. Seriously. And we’ve all got opinions. Sometimes we have to go back over some parts because we’re all talking about what just happened and miss things.

On the ring front, might be kinda weird, by I kept my ex’s ring to give to my daughter when she’s older. I figure it’s something special that will mean something to her. (I don’t really care what she does with it…she’s thinking she’ll use the diamond when she gets married someday).

My last “cross training” was walking the dogs.

Brooke is so FREAKIN adorable!!!!! :) :)

I don’t like fresh papaya but I love the dried kind and dried pineapples in my trail mix. Otherwise, I prefer fresh fruit.
Did you ever consider just keeping the ring and giving it to Brooke later, not for her wedding obviously, but just cause it came from her dad? Either way, I’m glad you feel better after selling it.

i LOVE the trader joe’s dried mango with the chili powder, and also coconut!! its like crack!! Spin is my go to cross training (especially Les Mills RPM… kicks my sass) or coming up with some random hiit circuit and strength training of course ;)

ps. my friend does this thing where all the girls names in the family end with ee,(like bailee or rilee) so they can never find their names on anything, it just means your unique :)

Random- My 5.5 month old is in size 4 diapers!

I didn’t follow the Bachelorette all that closely this go round either, but I did DVR the finale. Is it just me or did Josh’s “speech” at the end seem really scripted or like he was acting. It was almost like he said what he thought he was supposed to say but it wasn’t heartfelt.

Yes I said out loud is he reading this

I’ve been really bad about cross training lately. I did some weights on Tuesday, but that’s about it :(

I just started a new healthy habit of putting flaxseed in my smoothies! Making better choices one smoothie at a time!
