Wanna work with my running coach!?!?

MY RUNNING COACH IS TAKING ON TWO NEW ATHLETES!!!

Screen Shot 2014 01 02 at 4 30 00 PM

(The time he made me pull him using a resistance band)

I wrote more about how much I have loved having my running coach HERE and he is now able to take on two new athletes (he lives in Florida but coaches via email, phone and online through Training Peaks).  He has helped me SO much with injury prevention, my form and his workouts have made me so much faster.

Coaching is $125 a month and a 6 month commitment is required.

Email us at [email protected]  if you are interested in finding out more information and/or wanting to work with Dave.  Send us a little paragraph or two about your past running experience, your running goals and anything else you want to tell us about your running:)  Fast, slow, medium, beginner, intermediate, advanced…. doesn’t matter!  Let us know if you are interested!

The two athletes he will be working with will be featured on the blog too (if you want:) so that we can watch your progress too!

This was my day yesterday and I sure like it best this way.

The sister made her specialty—> Cream Cheese Chicken Chili.

DSC 9075

Two amazing things were made on my sister’s cookie sheet last night.

1.  The best cheesy/garlic biscuits you’ll ever have.

DSC 9074

2.  And the good stuff.

DSC 9083

The above good stuff was turned into banana monkey chunk sandwiches (what the below rascals call ice cream cookie sandwiches…??? yeah, I don’t get it either).

We ended the night by watching some Youtube videos because that is always entertaining.

PS I think she grew about 4 inches while she was gone this last week.

Tuesday:  4.3 miles on the treadmill and a pump class.

Wednesday:  14 miles to bring in the new year.

Thursday:  10.2 miles with a warm-up and cool-down and 36 x 200 meters on the track.

Friday:  Pump and 2.5 mile run

I am 9 weeks from my first marathon and need the weather to shape up ASAP. My runs are at a turtle pace right now trying to avoid falling!

Reply

I officially had my first run of 2014 yesterday and although it was cold, it was a good one. I’m trying to get back into it after taking a break since my recent half marathon in Nov.

Glad Brooker is back!!! :)

Reply

Yay! I’m so happy she’s back! Too cute that little nugget.
I need a running coach. I’m going to email him. I think it would be a great way to get speed and learn how to train efficiently.
Random fact…I made a bet for $5,000 that I could run my first Half in 2:15 against a friend who doesn’t run much and doesn’t get the power of a runners determination.

Reply

I need this below 20 degree weather to take a hike so I can run with out feeling like my toes are going to fall off!!

Reply

A little random fact is that I have been kicking around the idea of finding a running coach :-) I would love to qualify for Boston!

Reply

Hmmm. I’m currently looking for a coach and going through the process. I haven’t found someone that fits exactly with my goals yet. I will have to email. It looks like you had a great week of running Janae! Are you still planning for your Spring Marathon?

Reply

Ok you said it as a joke but Brooke actually grew taller! Amazing

I ll make the cheesy garlic cookies tonight :)

Reply

I spent yesterday reading about running coaches in my area; your posts are always so timely for me! I’ve been struggling with keeping up my training (i.e.- I will probably walking a lot during my upcoming half).

I’m amazed at your workouts. How do you keep going?

Reply

I bet kids that age do grow in those short time frames!
I’m excited that I have the day off work today, but I still woke up at 6am!
I haven’t been coached since I quit track in high school, but I like it that way- I can run whenever I want without feeling bad!

Reply

I wish I had as many good runs as you did! I did NONE and I have less than 50 days until my half marathon. I haven’t actually run since November because life got too stressful (finals, work, last minute move) and then I planned to run on my vacation but I went to Vermont and there was an ice storm and the roads were frozen the entire time I was there. I was too nervous about slipping and breaking a leg, so I didn’t go out. Boo. Now I have to train in a month in a half…not looking good.

Random fact about my day??? It’s my first day back to work since I left for Christmas holiday.

Reply

I have about 6 days until I run my 2nd marathon in Florida and I am kinda nervous!

Reply

Random – I always take a vacation to someplace warm for my Birthday!

Reply

Having a running coach has changed my life. I love not having to think about what my workout will be, or wondering if I’m doing too much/too little to reach my goals! Plus the motivation factor of “I better finish this run or I’ll have to tell my coach why I suck” is pretty good too :)

Reply

I once drove 17 hours to run a trail marathon. Once done, I took a few days off and then drove for another 10 hours to see my Grandma and Aunt E. It was worth every bit of it!

Reply

Oh goodness, that Brookers is just the cutest! Love her little outfit. So glad you have her home with you!

Wowee, Thursday looked like a brutal workout! Now that’s intense!

Reply

I ran on the treadmill not once but twice over the weekend…I entertained myself with the History Channel and HGTV.

Also, I’m giving away a Garmin on my blog right now!

After grocery shopping after my Saturday long run a bunch of random stuff made it into my cart . About to have a popster for breakfast, the result of that randomness.

Reply

I have been running a long time but was sidelined for the last 5 months with a femoral stress fracture. I am just now getting back into running. I have big goals but am having to learn to slow down and do things right this time around! I have learned there is so much more to running than running itself and it is my goal to get better at it!

So glad Brooke is back!! If i could afford a running coach I would for sure do it! Look forward to reading about the new athletes he trains!

Reply

I’d love to have a coach! I’m not sure it’s in the budget right now though :(

Reply

So glad you and the Brooker are reunited!
What is the biscuit recipe? I love cheesy and garli-y and I love biscuits, so I would make this asap!

Reply

Random: I like doing speed workouts with my dachshund because he is super fast. That’s pretty random, huh?

Reply

Those ice cream sandwiches look SO good! I love a warm cookie with ice cream. Planning on a treadmill run today, hoping strength training and yoga will help my ITBS! I have 2 more days to decide if I want to do a half marathon this spring before the price goes up. I always wait until the last minute to decide. I’m thinking yes!

Reply

Yay! I’m glad Brooke is back safe and sound!
My brother-in-law is an amateur running coach (as in, he hasn’t had any paying clients, but he’s done a ton of research to learn how to coach my sister), and he wants to coach me, but I’ve refused him. I’m too much of a free spirit to be nailed down to scheduled workouts. :)

Reply

Currently 20 weeks pregnant and feeling awesome :-) Glad you’re getting back in the running grove!

Reply

She does look taller!! That’s an interesting name to give those cookie sandwiches, but they do look good!!
Random: Giving kisses to my cat makes her purr more, and louder :)

Random fact: it has dropped 10 degrees in the hour since I’ve left my house. Brrrrrr.

Reply

Awww I’m so glad Brooke is back! I’m planning on heading to the gym for my long run but I’m nervous because 1) I haven’t run in over a week due to IT band issues and my half is in 2 weeks… and 2) the wind chill is like -30 outside and I have to walk a half mile to the gym… Wish me luck!

Reply

Red boots on Brookers = Awesome!

Random: I only drink powdered creamer in my coffee. As a matter of fact, my BFF gave me hazelnut sugar free powdered creamer and swedish fish for my birthday.

I have been seriously indulging the idea of finding a running coach. i’m going to talk it over with BOSS MAN and see what he says in regards to it.

Something random that is running related? I will give you 2 randoms:
– today was going to be my rest day because it is my first day back to work after two weeks
-But. It is 50 degrees outside (yet rainy) and it is goign to be a high of 58
-So. Even though it was supposed to be scheduled–>I’m going to run anyway..HOw can you pass up 50’s when it has been in the negatives lately?? You can’t. Exactly.

SOO happy for you that Brooke is back! :)

Please share that biscuit recipe!!! Yum!

Funny you posted this today! On the drive into work this morning, I was thinking about my goals for the year. I contemplated getting a personal trainer to help me improve my overall fitness, but what I really want to do is increase my indurance. I’m a really, really slow runner and I have had no motivation to follow a plan on my own. I am good for a few days, then I get off track. I think paying a coach will really motivate me!

Reply

I would love that biscuit recipe!

Random: contemplating how to construct a headband that I can run in for my Tinker Bell Half costume!

I added highlights to my hair for the first time EVER this weekend! So my hair is lighter and I’m still adjusting haha But I am 98% sure I really like it :) Have a great Monday!!

Reply

I’ve started logging my runs and want to try and do it for the year- to keep me motivated! A bit random for you- tomorrow I start a 3 day juice detox. This doesn’t sound like much, but it seems like a challenge to me! I will celebrate on Friday by going for a long run (if I don’t faint) and a big breakfast!

Reply

I get to start running again in a month!
I take my lil baby in for her 2 week checkup today. Love this nugget!

Reply

Just put my girl down for a nap but forgot my garmin isn’t charged, so I’m drinking tea and reading blogs while it chargers then I think I’ll take off outside to enjoy a run in the sun since I’m only in Florida for TWO more days – then I return home to the cold and snow :(

Reply

Yay for Brooke being back! I really wish I had that for dinner last night.

I just spent 2 1/2 hours driving to work…it usually takes about an hour. :( The day can only get better right?

Something random about life/running: I’ll be going to a running camp for 10 days in march with some national team runners and coaches from a bunch of different countries. I’m terrified but excited :)

Reply

Today, I attempted to run outside for the first time in a week or so. It was 50 degrees with fog and zero visibility. I made it a little over a mile with Bungee and then it started thundering and lightning. I’m pretty sure it was a sign from God to stick to the treadmill.

Reply

Yay Brooke is back and those cookies look like Otis spunkmeyer, the best! I had a similar dinner last night, so yummy!

Reply

Love this! Hmm I’m 6 weeks from due date and wanting to run so badddddd! I can’t wait to get back to a routine of work outs and you’re such a great motivator! xo

Well…my running has evolved soooo much in the last year! Here’s the highlights:
* started running with a friend who had signed up for Chicago Marathon and a retired teacher friend who is on his second round of running all 50 states… first time running with others and loved it!
* the friends I mentioned above taught me soooo much about running. ..hydration, nutrition, it’s ok to take “easy” runs, etc
* they also convinced me to sign up for my first marathon which I completed in October… it was a life-changing experience! !
* this is the first time I have continued running through the winter months; I continue to meet my retired friend EARLY Tuesday mornings for 7 miles and an trying to do a long run on the weekend with other varied runs mostly on the treadmill the rest of the week with some strength training and yoga thrown in!
* I finally feel like a runner!!!

Reply

I completed my first “long run” of training for Boston yesterday- a whopping five miles! Feeling excited and motivated for marathon training. Also today is gross and I dropped my yogurt on the ground at work and it exploded everywhere. I guess you win some and you lose some :)

Awwr yay for Brooke being back :D And I’m gonna have to side with the kiddos on this one — I call them ice cream cookie sandwiches too…

Something random: mixing whipped cream, caramel pudding, and almond butter before slathering it between two layers of chocolate cake makes for a pretty epic birthday cake.

Reply

Those cookies look amazing! So happy Brooke is back. Things just weren’t the same with her gone!

Something random: You have totally gotten me back on a Regina Spektor kick after mentioning her on the blog the other day! She got me through 5 miles on the TM yesterday. Have you heard her song “Laughing With”? So good!

I am running my second marathon on 1/19 and I am right on the edge of a BQ. If it’s not the Carlsbad, it’s San Diego or something this year!! I would love to work with your coach, too – so close to this goal all on my own. I can only imagine what I could do with a coach!

Reply

Brooke is such a little fasionista already…too adorable!!!

Reply

wow AWESOME job on the 50+ miles this week… I wish I could do that :) I have been excited about the past two weeks which have both been 30-mile weeks for me.

Random things here: we did our first day commuting to school from our new house and it was GREAT. I’m getting my funky hip replaced. We got a new washer and dryer…used but new to me…and I am STOKED. I’m watching The Green Mile with my high schooler who still has 3 days of vacation left. Yesterday we saw Frozen for the THIRD time and spotted Rapunzel and Eugene entering Arendelle going in for the coronation. Now you want to see it again just to see if that really happens…am I right? ;-) It does.

Your coach REALLY sounds amazing, because even though you’ve always been extremely talented, he made a big difference in your health and performance. But. I’m too cheap and lazy for a coach ;-)
