Here is a video of what pool running kind of looks like. I don’t have an underwater camera so it is hard to see what my legs are doing because it looks a little different from an angle above the water… basically you are just running in the water just like you would on land. Also, I think my form is a little off in the video because I was feeling really awkward because the aqua aerobics people were staring at me while we were filming it but I have a lot of readers ask about what it looks like so here is a general idea:
Another 100 minutes in the pool yesterday. The first 40 were pretty easy/relaxed but I tried to pick it up for the last 60 and do a tempo workout.
Your form stays the same no matter what you are doing while pool running but your cadence determines the type of workout:
I decide how long I am going to pool run based on when my mom texts me to tell me that Brooke is moving around in the crib (she has a video monitor) and I am home 8 minutes later (I know, that takes talent) to get her up and going for the day. Pool running is so easy on your body because you aren’t dealing with gravity and all of the pounding that occurs with running on land so I can get away with a lot of ‘pool miles’ each week. Gotta keep that fitness up.
I was spoiled for lunch yesterday. It was made for me and I didn’t have to lift a finger. Food is always 4 trillion times better when somebody else makes it for you and this was perfection.
Instead of being even remotely productive during Brooke’s nap time I felt like it was a good idea to catch up on the Bachelorette. I really like Andy and I kind of want to be her friend.
Back home for when Brooke woke up and we had our normal afternoon tradition of almond butter and apples on the deck. I really look forward to this time of my day (babies after they first wake up are the absolute best).
Megan is having her baby soon and so we decided to have a baby shower at Cubby’s so that we could have a good excuse to get together to eat salads and talk for 3 hours.
Close up on my steak salad (delicious but did not fill me up so I had cereal when I got back home).
Brooke and I stopped at The Chocolate for the necessary baby shower treats earlier on…
And we brought Megan’s favorites. And like usual, I forgot that the cookies were on my passenger seat in the car and so when I stopped at a light they went flying… I will never learn.
Bangs Friend sent this picture to me and I could not agree more:
