I really wish I had a million dollars so that I could give you all a new pair of running shoes for Christmas this year. Then I could force you to come to San Jose so that we could all wear them at the same time as we go for a run and while we are out running we would stop at all the best food places (mainly ice cream places) to refuel our run so we could run together all day long.
Until I can fulfill that dream of mine, I can give away one pair of my absolute favorite pair of shoes… just in time for Christmas!
The Brooks PureProject line are my favorites and I just got the PureFlow 2s and love every aspect of them. It is a match made in heaven, comfort and lightweight. My treadmill even approved of them.

I’m going to answer all of your questions since I’m a new reader and am going to be one of your new best friends. I don’t know if you realize how inspirational you are to me – your running, healthy eating, beautiful family and overall positivity and happy outlook about so many things are heartwarming and have been the motivation I’ve needed to start working on improving my times and training harder. After lots of halfs, I did my first marathon in Oct. – slow, but finishing strong was my goal. Just did 2 miles @ 7:47 and plan to keep adding miles at that pace until I can break a sub-4 – and that’s because of you!! I’m going to send you bags of candy corn when I do it.
I turn 40 on Feb. 20. My favorite baby animals are of course kittens and puppies. My favorite baby I thought was my first because your first baby always has a special place in your heart – but now my third and last daughter is 3 and I’m realizing she’s going to be my baby forever so in some ways that’s my favorite thing. My middle daughter is so much like me and she’s my favorite, too. Girls are wonderful and I’m glad you have one because I’m sure sons are great, but there is nothing on earth like little girls. Especially a giggling pile of them.
And my run happy moment… I wasn’t a big runner before I had baby #2, but I was so big and uncomfortable that I had dreams all the time about running while I was pregnant. In those dreams I was spry and lithe and I could run for miles and miles and felt so good again in my body (whereas in reality I was feeling the opposite). My best run happy moment (aside from races) was after I had the baby and I got to turn all those dreams into a reality – I was light and zippy again, and I could run for miles. That’s when I became a real runner. I had never been so glad to run and I never felt to alive and grateful for my body and what it could do.
Oh, and another happy moment I have all the time: when a previously hard running goal becomes easy.

My really random/weird happy running moment was actually last night in my DREAM where I ran an incredible and exhilarating half marathon at my record time of 1:39. Call me silly because it was in my dream, but now that I’m knocked up and due in 3 months, I run so much slower than usual but love love LOVE to run. I woke up so energized from my dream and it seriously made my day. hahahaha. I’m such a dork. But for real it gave me hope that I can run fast and free again (and hopefully in some new kicks!)

4. My favorite run happy moment was definitely when I crossed the finish line for my first 10k…it was a small race and compared to the other runners my time was super slow, but it was so, so meaningful for me to finish! I was totally overwhelmed and had to hold in (well almost) the happy tears.
