Friday Favorites!

We ran on the shadiest path we could for our 7 miles at an 8:21 pace. I have not convinced myself to do a workout this week with the heat; I might try on Saturday, or I might wait until next week.

On the way back, I had a first… I met a sweet lady who passes out candy to everyone she passes on the path.

A cantaloupe cheers with my fruit-loving child.

And a bike ride after Andrew got back from riding in the mountains.

Andrew is also getting into strength training (I wonder if the motivation is because Knox is coming up on him;) and he put in a new pull-up bar.

Sarah is in town (we met in 8th grade and have been close ever since… she lives in Switzerland and so I do not get enough time with her!) and we were able to go and get dinner together at Sundance. I could never get sick of Sundance.

Let’s jump right on over to some favorites!
*I have such an obsession with my Z Supply tanks, and I decided to try out the matching pants (lots of colors in both). I’m mad at myself for not trying these sooner. They are SO soft and lightweight. Somehow they are cooler than wearing shorts! I went with a medium in the top and a small in the bottoms. (Also, my daily necklace and flip-flops that actually give enough support for me to wear)

They feel like you are wearing nothing. I could order every item they have on their best-sellers list.

*New absolute favorite thing in my pool bag, ever. This SPF goes on SO good and smells like heaven. It also adds the prettiest glow to your skin.

*And I finally found my one and only true love makeup item… These lip oils give the perfect shine and hydration. I cannot get enough of the trio set. It feels like a treat on my lips.

*The dress came, and I love it even more than I thought I would! My sister tried mine on as soon as she got it, and while we share basically everything, she had to buy one for herself because she loved it so much.

*If you are an oversized t-shirt lover like me, you must try out this one. The colors are so bold, the material is so soft, and the comfort is unmatched. I’m wearing a size small, and I am doing my best not to order every color, but I can’t make any promises.

*How we are already at back-to-school shopping, I do not know. I picked out these adidas pieces for Beck and Skye (and they gifted them)! Basically everything is on sale… Skye: shoes, sweats, t-shirt, hoodie, shorts. Beck: Hoodie and shoes. Their back-to-school section has a ton of awesome deals.

*Anthropologie is giving $50 off when you spend $150 and $100 off when you spend $300! This is the perfect time for me to try out the Hoka 11s and the Challengers.
*Abercrombie is buy one, get one 50% off on almost everything right now! Their activewear is the cutest, and their jeans are a must.

I am doing my long trail run today because it is to be cooler today. The heat and humidity is to return. We hope to spend most of the weekend on the water in boat (waterskiing) or in the pool just floating. I will use the quietness to get mentally prepped for having all the kids home next week, hosting my in-laws and Swiss relatives next weekend.
I have been enjoying fresh peaches (not as good as Utah’s), plums and cherries. We also had fall like temps that were amazing.I am going to check out that Adidas sale!
Weekend plans include a graduation party (fun!) and buying a new refrigerator(not fun).
School for us starts the last Monday in August.
Favorite things this week was an impromptu school supply shopping date followed by ice cream with my daughter. She wanted first dibs on folder and notebook colors.
Love that dress on you!! How do you find such amazing items??
No big weekend plans at the moment. I’m soaking up the last of TdF!Why does Skye look like she’s ready to start middle school? I’ve noticed in the last few posts that she’s really changing right now!
We’re picking up Les’ sister and brother-in-law at the Nashville airport tonight – they’ve been in Europe, excited to hear about their adventures. Get together after church on Sunday for our age group (50-65).
First day here is next Friday, July 31st. Not sure I understand the reasoning with starting on a Friday, but what do I know?
That dress is beautiful! As I add it to my cart!
I don’t have my kids so I think me and my man are going to start packing up his house or fix his back step. He’s moving in September—he will be 20 minutes closer 😊
We start Sept 1. Although I don’t start then because I will be in Kauai!!!
Favorite this week was for 2 days it was in the 80’s, but now we are right back to 90’s and so humid. And thanks for mentioning the rash you are getting from the humidity, I have been to but all there years never connected it to the humidity!
Have a great weeekend, Janae!
I always look forward to your Friday Favorites roundups to see what you’ve been loving lately. That book recommendation you mentioned is definitely going on my reading list for this weekend. Hope you have a wonderful weekend ahead!
The 8:21 in that heat is honestly the workout – people forget that pace at 90 degrees is not the same effort as pace at 60, and trying to force a speed session on top of it is how the whole week falls apart. Waiting until next week is the right call. Also the candy lady on the path is the kind of detail that makes these roundups worth reading. Jealous of the Sundance dinner.
I loved your Friday Favorites! The smoothie recipes are fantastic—I tried the berry one and it was a hit at my brunch! 🥤
You said you were not up for a workout in the heat, but then you found pants that are cooler than shorts. That is so cool! I bet they help a lot on hot runs.
The trail photo and everyday favorites make this feel like a useful weekly snapshot. Captioned mini clips could make the gear details and quick recommendations even easier to catch.
Energetic and exciting, you’ll share your daily sporting discoveries. Engaging conversations and explorations sprunki games of practical skills are key.

welcome!
