Friday Favorites!

(Jacket, leggings, shoes)

7.78 miles @ 8:26 average.  I have reached a point in my life where I’ll happily stop on a random number during my daily runs as long as it all adds up to my weekly goal mileage;)

I was frustrated by some life things yesterday and good food helps every problem, so Beck and I went for supplies.

Brooke has been loving to cook with me, which definitely helped my mood.

Pink pasta!  A recipe I make over and over again.

And snickerdoodles.  Much better.

Let’s get going with a few favorites today!

*I’m having fun adding Amazon bows to my hair for church or date night.

*I have been reviewing and using recovery tools for over a decade, and it has all come together to this moment.  If I had to choose just one to keep and use for the rest of my life (other than my hot tub), it would be the chirp RPM.  Foam rolling takes too much energy for me (at least, I’m honest about it), and this thing spins for you and does all of the work.  Every person that has come over, I have made try it, and they immediately say they are going to go and buy one.  It feels like an absolute treat on the feet and really massages deep into the muscles.  Using it doesn’t feel like a chore like most recovery tools; it feels like a luxury, a massage!  I’m in love, and thankfully, you can use your HSA on Chirp products!

*I own many of the lululemon long-sleeve swiftly tech tops, and this one from Amazon feels identical.  This blue color is money for about 1/3rd the price; they offer many other fun colors, too!

IMG 1144

*My morning drink set-up.  44 ounces of water, my green smoothie, and Core Power warmed up (it tastes better than hot chocolate).

IMG 1148

*A bedding trick I learned!  You know when you walk into a bedding store and each bed looks so fluffy and inviting, all you want to do is jump in and live there?  This is partly because they put TWO duvet inserts into the duvet cover.  Not just one like I’ve done my whole life.  I’m now having difficulty walking by my bed without jumping into it.

I hope today is a better day for you!
Yesterday I volunteered to host our Monday night run club. This mostly entails feeding a group of 20 after a 3 mile run. So I will be cleaning my house, trying to figure out seating arrangement that I haven’t already considered and meal prepping all weekend. Menu is currently: candied walnuts, 1 artisan cheese, crackers; sourdough bread, arugula salad, lasagna x2 and chocolate shortbread cookies.
Feel free to join because what’s one more?

Thank you, Molly! It’s off to a great start. I NEED TO JOIN THIS GROUP. That meal sounds like my dream meal. I am so impressed, and I better get to see pictures of it all. Good luck this weekend, I’m sure it will be everyone’s favorite!

Happy Friday! Baking is often my go-to to improve my mood or distract myself when I am frustrated with something or just want to avoid getting something done :) Plus the end result is always worth it.

We raise cattle in central Kansas and my husband as learned to make beef jerky on his smoker using our beef. The jerky is a perfect protein option for on-the go or a quick snack. I should note that I am now a Core Power devote thanks to your posts. Those things are amazing after a long, hard run.

I couldn’t sleep so got up and got a run in, in the dark. And while I had aimed to just get some easy, base miles in, I ended up making it something of a tempo run. I got home just as the snow started falling and my kids school was cancelled for the day. So super grateful I was able to get out and enjoy the calm before the storm!

P.S. Thanks so much for the Amazon shirt recommendations. You must have read my mind because I have been on the hunt for a few good, basic long-sleeve shirts. Most of mine have seen their better days!

Happy Weekend All!

Baking just gets us through some tough feelings and you are so right, eating whatever we make is bound to make us happier. I bet your beef jerky is incredible. I need to come visit and try it. Well, my job is done… I have you hooked on Core Power:) What a perfect morning that you had. I love those runs that turn into something better than we expected. You’ll have to let me know what you think of the tops! They are amazing. Have the best day with your kids on this snow day, KJ!

I too am having some hard life stuff. Going for a walk always helps me. Then yesterday, our new fire pit arrived, so the 4 of us spent last night on the patio. That really improved my mood. There was something so comforting about the warm fire and being snuggled up in blankets in the crisp cold air!
I hope today is a better day for you.
I need to clean out my running/workout clothes drawer, and I know I will need to replace some pieces, so Amazon it will be…. You have yet to steer me wrong.
This weekend I am motivated to start purging and organizing closets and cabinets! Hopefully it will keep going, ha ha
Have a good day Janae. And remember to give yourself some grace 😊

Wendy. I am SO so sorry. I’m here for you. So happy that the fire pit came, your backyard is a dream! Amazon does the trick:). Good luck going through everything, isn’t it crazy how easily things can just accumulate? Good luck! Thanks Wendy, needed that!
