You know when Robin is wearing double yellow, you are in trouble, ha👿. I’m trying to mimic when I felt my strongest as a runner last spring by doing the Peloton on Thursdays. It worked then, so I’m hoping it works now too.
Robin said something during the class that I loved–> Don’t waste your own time! When I think about it like that, of course, I will do my best. This will be my mantra for my speed workouts and races for a bit… I don’t want to waste my own time doing anything other than my best.
I did yoga afterward, and when Knox asked why I was doing yoga, Brooke said ‘she does it so when she is old, she can move like she is young.’
Exactly.
How I know these two are over doing errands:
I’m pretty sure beck ran .5 miles at cross-country.
*I am very into overalls. Probably too into overalls. How did I go around in life wearing tight pants for decades? I will never go back unless they are leggings… Loose jeans and overalls are a way of life for me now. PS It might seem like I buy a lot of clothes, and that’s because I do, but four people benefit from this (two nieces, me, my sis, and soon-to-be Brooke, ha), so that helps me to feel better about it;). My nieces call my closet their closet.

*I’ve heard about this $29 sheet set from probably 25 influencers over the years, and I was finally influenced. The price is insane for how soft, breathable, and lavish these sheets feel. I will never go back to anything else.

I have been doing Peloton on Thursdays, too! Apparently we need to call for a bike seat replacement. I gave my bike seat a few extra checks before starting yesterday. And I’m too in a groove with all Cody classes. He’s just so funny.

Overalls are so comfy. I only have one pair of denim ones, but I love them.
After a super long delay in the Denver airport, we finally made it to Chicago for our oldest son’s graduation weekend! We’re all so happy and excited for the next few days. This morning is a breakfast, followed by a tour around campus and the very cute downtown area of the town the college is in (Lake Forest, IL.), then helping him pack up his dorm, then a big family dinner. Graduation is tomorrow!
I’m hoping to squeeze in some runs while we’re here, but not putting any pressure on myself.

We are headed to Squamish. I signed up for a trail race but it is supposed to be 30 degrees Celsius so this should be interesting. It will be so hot lol! We decided to stay overnight in a hotel and make it a little getaway including River! There is a pool so looking forward that after.
Where we live kiddos are out of school next month and they go back in September.

I’ve heard that sun sensitive eyes is often related to adrenal stress- a sodium/potassium imbalance. Might be something to look into!

It’s Mother’s Day weekend which is bittersweet. This will be my 25th without my mom and Les’ first without his, they will both be missed but remembered with so much love.
Sunglasses ALWAYS. Les got me prescription Tifosi glasses for Christmas that are also photosensitive so I put them on even when it’s dark out and they adjust as I go. No more stuffing them in a pocket until I need them

Today is the last day of school for seniors at my son’s high school, so it was his last ‘last day’ of school. I have all the feels over here. School gets out for the other grades on May 22.
Sunglasses – always! We live in western Colorado where it is high and dry and the sun is sooooo bright, so sunglasses go with me on every trip out of the house. I have a friend who doesn’t wear sunglasses on our runs and I seriously don’t know how she does it.

Hey Kelly! Yay for a Peloton! I think that it is a huge benefit to have one and since both me and Andrew use it, it feels worth it. We both take a class almost every day! I’m probably the wrong person to ask because I’m obsessed with the classes ha but I’m sure that plenty of people don’t buy the membership and do their own thing on the bike. I swear I have the most sensitive eyes on the planet. I wear sunglasses on cloudy days or I squint. My son wants Oakley Sutros and I looked at these goodr ones and sent him the link to see if this was a nice alternative. He likes to lose things so I don’t trust him with expensive ones lol.
We are done with school in a couple week before Memorial Day. Whoop Whoop!

My city is known for its lilacs, and we have a Lilac Festival every May. The kids and I will probably hit that up at some point, and then just enjoy some time outdoors. The weather is finally nice here!
