(jacket, shorts, beanie)

8.1 miles @ 8:20 pace and some upper body strength! We had to run at the indoor track again and didn’t take any pictures, so this is from a different day.

We finally got out to ski again. The fresh powder was calling our names.

I’m not ready for her to go to Kindergarten in a few months.

Skiing reminds me to love the extra credit Utah has received this year in terms of snow…

But I am looking forward to this again:

Brooke was part of a wax museum for school. She stayed so still for an hour. She was Lucy Stone (the first woman from Massachusetts to earn a graduate degree).

Gearing up for my first 20 miler of this training cycle tomorrow!

Let’s get into this week’s favorites!

*I bought my sister my favorite moisture mask; she is just as obsessed as I am. Her hair is so silky.

*I. Am. So. In. Love. With. This. Swimsuit.  TOP and BOTTOM.  I went with a small in both the top and bottom.   It is simple, they have so many fun colors (I bought it in brown) in it, flattering cuts, and I love the sporty look of it.  I will definitely be getting it in another color too.

*Andrew gave me this bodysuit for my birthday, and if you need a good bodysuit, this is the one for you. Soft, stretchy, and fits right to your body. I’ve also heard great things about this bodysuit on Amazon. Jeans link in case anyone wants these ones.

*You know my love for the Food Nanny’s bread/cake recipe… my neighbor knew that, and she gave me the cookbook for my birthday. I am so happy to have all of the recipes now!

My bed is a full size, which I know probably seems small to a lot of people! But I’m used to it.

My favorite hair products are from Davines- my hair salon will do refills of their shampoos and conditioners, so I feel a little more sustainable reusing containers!

I am so used to my queen that when I sleep in a bigger bed it feels toooooo big for me so I get being used to exactly what we have. That is such an awesome thing that your salon does. I wish all of them did that. Have a beautiful day, Mariah!

Way to go Brooke! I would not have been able to stand still for that long ha. I have a queen bed as well. Half of it for me and half of it for my dog lol. Happy Friday xoxo

Right?! I was seriously shocked that she could do that… I could maybe for five minutes. Hahaha it’s amazing how dogs can take up as much (or more) space than humans. I love it. Thanks Maureen, you too!

I signed all of us up to run a 5k this weekend! So that will be my husband, 13 year old son and 7 year old daughter lol. They are actually pretty excited about it! My 13 year old started track this week and they have got him running long distances and it has made my momma heart so happy. On another note, it looks absolutely beautiful where you all go skiing! I almost died the only time I’ve ever done it (freshmen year of HS like 25 years ago) – I literally fell off the course and slid like a mile down the mountain and went face first into a tree and broke my nose.

Hey Sarah! Have the best time at the 5k, I LOVE that you are all doing it. And SO exciting about your 13 yo and track. You are a running family! Okay, your ski story sounds terrifying! I can’t even imagine!

Happy Friday! I cannot believe all the snow you all are getting. Meanwhile it’s like 80 degrees and 80% humidity here in Louisiana. We have 20 miles this weekend in prep for Boston. Headed to run those on some hills. I don’t have a fave cookbook (but I do love run fast cook fast eat slow), but I LOVE Paleo Running Mama’s recipes. So good.
Have a great weekend! Also, are you going to do a meet up at Boston at all? :)

80 degrees sounds heavenly (but 80% humidity does not ha)! GOOD LUCK on your 20 miler and you are going to rock your hills. YES YES YES to a meetup. I cannot wait to meet you! As of right now, I am planning on a shake-out run on Saturday morning at around 10ish… would you be able to do that?

We are getting a dump of snow this weekend so will go play in that! A run ..I need new running shoes. And dress shopping maybe as we are getting married in May. It’s a teeny wedding but still so many details haha.

Have a great weekend Janae!

AHHHHH WEDDING DRESS SHOPPING! I am so happy for you guys and I want to see pictures!

Go have the best time in the snow this weekend, River will be so happy.

Awesome job Brooke! I can’t believe she stayed still that long. What a fun event. And what a perfect day for skiing. All that snow definitely has it’s pluses.
We are getting a ton of rain out here, with wind, so that means treadmill runs for the next couple days. My running friend and I texted each other at 5:30am, thinking we could squeeze in a run, but in the middle of our texting, it started monsooning…. Um nope! Ha ha
I love bodysuits! I may try both.
Have an awesome Friday!

Reply

Right?! I couldn’t hold that position for five minutes ha. I love the early morning planning ha… that has happened to us too. I hope your treadmill run was a great one. Thanks, Wendy!

Jeans are super cute! Do they hit the ground on you? the models in the picture are all super tall (I’m only 5ft 4in) – can’t decide where they should land? ankle? etc? Good luck with the 20 miler tomorrow!

Reply

Hey Morgan! You are going to love the jeans! Mine hit about 1 inch about the ground and I’m 5’8″! I seriously love them and they are so different from any jeans that I own. THANK YOU and I hope your weekend is a wonderful one!

Thank you so much! ❤️

My son’s varsity basketball team plays for a chance to go to State tomorrow night so we are nervous and excited already!
I LOOOVE pureology hydrate shampoo and conditioner. It smells so so good.
We got a king bed a few years into our marriage and now I think I would curl up and die if I had to go back to a size smaller.
Happy Friday!

GOOD LUCK to your son. I hope they are able to go to State, that is SO exciting! The pureology line is the best!… now I need to go pick up some more! Hahah I love hearing everyone’s opinions on the correct bed size for them! Hope your day is a beautiful one.

Could you educate us on eating for long runs? I remember your niece’s impromptu marathon a few days ago and you said things like “eat at 4 miles.” I run a lot slower for you. I figure you’re running a race at a 6 min pace and 4 miles and 24 minutes in. If I’m running an 11 minute pace, should I start at 4 miles 44 minutes in? Also would love to hear your eating points for full and half marathon, as I’ll be hopefully doing a half soon. Thank you!!

ABSOLUTELY! I will write a full post on it! Expect it in my posts next week! So excited for your half coming up, you are going to do amazing!

My neck hurts just looking at Brooke – I could never have stood still for 30 minutes. Way to go Brooke!

I’m annoyed with our winter weather in New England this year – It’s bee a relatively snow-free winter which stinks for the environment but means I’ve been able to get out on my rail trail every weekend. But it snowed and iced the last few days so even running in the streets isn’t safe :( And it’s too cold to ski. My son and husband tried this morning (school vacation week) but only lasted 2 runs.

We have a king size bed and I’ll never go back to sleeping in a queen with 2 people. We are both sprawlers when we sleep so even a king sometimes feels like not enough! We had a queen forever and we definitely sleep much better now.

Brooke is so cute! And all that snow!

I’m supposed to run Vegas this Sunday but currently, the route there is closed :( I’m trying to decide if it’s worth flying out tomorrow morning instead of driving.

I share a king bed with my husband and 2 dogs.

I am currently loving the Verb Ghost Oil. It’s a super lightweight oil and hair protectant. I like it because I only wash my hair every 5-7 days and it doesn’t build up on my hair or weigh it down.

Reply

King size for sure, even though I’m a short person (5’1″), I like taking up space, haha. But the first few nights when we switched from a queen to a king I kept waking up because I was afraid I was going to fall off the bed! Hilarious. Not a favorite cookbook, but yesterday I made lemon bars from Sally’s Baking Addiction blog and they turned out pretty good!

Reply

My husband is 6’5” so we have a king. We used to have a queen when we were first married but he would sleep diagonally—um no thank you!!

I got to run TWO miles today which sounds like nothing but I’ve been rehabbing an injury since last May so it’s exciting to me (I just got promoted to 2 miles yesterday so it’s still a big deal in my mind). My real workout this weekend is a 50-mile bike ride tomorrow. I’m still figuring out how to dress differently for biking than for running—it’s so much colder on the bike!

Reply

Rachael! This is HUGE news! Oh I am so so so happy. I bet you were smiling so big. Go rock that bike ride, I’m cheering for you and I hope you finish with some hot chocolate!

Reply

Oh man that bikini!! I’m seriously tempted to spend the money and try that one. I tried one at target which I loved the color and style but my mom of 4 bod needs something more supportive.. so thinking of splurging on one if it’s truly worth it! I think I saw this in tried and true moms too and sissy was raving about it.

Reply

I hope you love it! The top is a bit like a sports bra so just plan on that:). Oh that makes me so happy that sissy loves it too. I’m hooked! Have a great day, Sarah!
