Did this. Ate this. Found this.

(shoes, leggings, long-sleeve, vest, ear warmer)

Some people did speed, some did not (I did not… my body doesn’t feel ready for it)!

The coloring we see during winter morning runs makes it all worth it.

Ten minutes of core with Beck. He loves to add an extra challenge to any strength that I do.

Did this…
And this…
Ate this (one of my favorite recipes)…

And these (on my quest to find the perfect peppermint/chocolate treat, and these might be it)…

We found our Christmas tree!

I found the perfect ornament for Andrew.

The last thing today, in case you need spectating spots for CIM on Sunday, this is where Andrew went in 2019:

If you celebrate Christmas, do you have your tree up?  Real or fake tree?

Who has a December birthday (or another significant event)?

-Skye does—> 5!

What are you having for dinner?

-I am actually enjoying cooking lately, and it’s probably because I have more energy since I’m not running 80 miles per week.

We will have our fake tree this year bc we’re traveling for Xmas. December is our busy month of events – 2 bdays, anniversary, Hanukkah and Christmas! We’re having jambalaya for dinner bc it’s finally cold weather here in CenLa (central Louisiana).

WOW. You guys are very busy this month! You’ll have to let me know where you guys go for Christmas. I am so glad the temps are cooling down, that makes it feel more like Christmas time. Enjoy the jambalaya, that sounds so good right now. Have a great day, Juliet!

Winter skys are so pretty.
We got our tree up last night. My husband does the lights, he’s really good at it, and I still need to decorate it. The big/main tree is artificial, but I always get a real 4+ foot tree for our living room. The little tree is where I hang all of our Denver Bronco ornaments, ha ha. What do you do to keep your tree fresh all December? And when do you take it down?
I haven’t decided what to make for dinner yet. I do need to go to Costco, so hopefully something there will inspire me.
Have a good day Janae 😊

I bet your trees looks amazing! I need a pic of your Bronco tree. We just water it a lot but then I take it down on 12/26 (by then I am so done with all of the decorations ha). Good luck with finding something delicious for dinner. Thanks Wendy, you too!

It seems like all everyone does anymore is a fake tree but I just can’t do it. I grew up in Oregon and our house was a bout 10 miles from where a bunch of Christmas tree farms were. We would go out as a family choose a tree from where they were still growing on the farm and my Dad wold cut one down. I can still hear the chain saw LOL.

Now that we live in Colorado we have been just getting them from a lot or Costco (but they likely come from near my home in Oregon so that makes me happy). This year we wanted to get a permit and go cut one down from the mountains but since we got sick over Thanksgiving I think we might just go grab a tree tonight, it feels so late to not have one still! We do have lot’s of fake trees in other parts of the house, and they are beautiful and a LOT less messy!

I can’t believe Skye will be 5 so soon, I bet she is so excited! Hope you are all having a wonderful day!

I didn’t know you grew up in Oregon! Those memories sound amazing at the Christmas tree farm… I can see why you still need a real tree! Enjoy getting your tree tonight. Thanks, Beth!

Aren’t the skies just incredible this time of year? I am always reminding myself to look up when I’m running–and I live for a sunrise/sunset.
Ok, those peppermint cookie things look amazing. I’m always trying to find new and delicious treats–so totally trying.

We have a fake tree and it has been up for a couple weeks but I just started decorating last night LOL. I will finish it today! I promise.

Dinner tonight will be frozen sirloin burgers from costco – so easy and good protein! (on buns for my hubby and son) with tater tots + I am sending my husband to stock us up on veggies from costco after all the thanksgiving foods so I am going to have a burger bowl with lettuce, sauteed veggies, pickles, some mustard, + maybe some of the boys tater tots.

Good luck finishing the tree today, I bet it is going to be gorgeous. Your dinner sounds delicious… I’ll be over at 6;). Thanks Stephanie, I hope you are having a beautiful morning!

Hi Janae! Winter cooking is so nice and cozy. We have a fake tree but we haven’t decided if we are putting it up this year because we have a kitty who likes to eat greenery when she goes outside and then throws up! Not sure if a fake tree will have the same effect on her so we will have to see.
Have an awesome day! Hot tub looks amazing as usual! One of the best parts of my vacation was hanging out in one every day!

Maybe that is why I am loving it so much right now, it is cozy! Skye wants a kitty SO so bad. She will be jealous of you! So glad you guys were able to go on vacation and I hope you are having the most beautiful morning.

You guys have a very busy winter! Enjoy all of the celebrating! I want something with pasta in it today too! Have a wonderful day, Warren!

Fake tree as our strata doesn’t allow live trees.

I may or may not have had Christmas decorations up since Nov 1 lol. My sister saw a photo and basically told me it looked like christmas vomited over pur apartment lol!!

Have a great day Janae!

HAHAH I love what your sister said and I’m so happy that you put them up on 11/1! Thanks Kristine, you too!

We have our tree up! A fake one, brand new this year without lights, because our prelit one kept going out last year and driving me nuts with patches that weren’t lit, so we tossed it and started new! We get a new ornament every year and date it, usually from a significant event (2009-1st christmas together, 2014-engaged, 2019-texas trip, 2022-another texas trip) so it makes it fun to see them each year.

No birthdays in December …………….yet. My sister in law is due on the 27th or so, and I predict it’ll be Christmas eve when she goes into labor, ha! Could be an interesting Christmas.

Dinner will be miso glazed salmon, rice and veggies. This is one of my backup freezer meals. I need to go grocery shopping!!!
We need a real tree because I gave away our fake one last year, hah. My husband will ski tour one of the local forests this weekend to cut one down (with a permit). I can’t wait until our 3 year old is big enough that we can do this as a family!

This year we are travelling but we decided to go with a Charlie Brown tree and will put it in a large pot when we are done. I was born and raised in Oregon so a tree needs to have an aroma! Christmas trees here in Europe aren’t as aromatic and they’re goofy-very wide and not super tall.

December birthday here! I can’t believe Skye is 5. Kindergarten next year?!

Have you seen Ranch on a Branch? Sadly they’re sold out but wouldn’t that have been fun?!?! I hope to see some funny photos, Elf on Shelf has competition now! (we do not do elf on a shelf. It was fun for one year)

I love December, it is a busy month. Our 12th wedding anniversary, my birthday and of course Christmas. Such amazing family times spread in there too.

We have a fake tree, I love it because it lasts much longer than a real one. But the smell of a real one is unbeatable.

For dinner we’re having pumpkin soup with cheese toasted sandwiches and probably noodles for the family members that don’t want that. Something easy xx
