(Long-sleeve, tank, shorts, socks, shoes, hat)

Today’s post is brought to you by a lot of random things throughout our day… my head is pounding so hopefully this post makes any sense:

A nice and easy run with Lauren to start my day.

I go down to my sports bra and shorts daily and jump into my hot tub right after a run.

Knowing my hot tub is waiting for me will keep me from hibernating this winter.

The joy of listening to a podcast with a warm piece of bread.  I look forward to running out of bread at home so I can go to Great Harvest and get more.

I’ll admit it.  I’ve wasted a lot of money over the years on race gear that I never use again, BUT after 15 years of races, I’ve finally figured out only to buy the things I’m going to use.  My Boston sweatshirt and cup from this past April have been used more than anything else I’ve ever purchased from a race combined.

I’m proud of how far I’ve come;).

It snowed again.  Skye cannot wait for ski school.

The way to Knox’s heart–> have a bag of Takis waiting for him when he returns.

Beck received money for his birthday and now he thinks he is a millionaire.

I had a flashback from last year of when I had dry needling done for my plantar fasciitis and it made me cringe just thinking about it… anyone ever had that?

Has anyone made pancake spaghetti?  Any tips?  I think my kids are going to love this!

Makenna Myler posted about winter running… How have I never thought of wearing spandex shorts UNDER my tights to prevent cold buns.  I will be doing this now.

Ever had Takis?  Thoughts?

-I’ve never tried them, but Hot Flaming Cheetos nearly killed me.

What is going to help you to avoid hibernating this winter?

Random question of the day—> are you much of a snacker or do you prefer big meals (or big meals and snacks?)?

Race purchases/shirts etc?  Do you use those things or do they end up in the back of the drawer?  Have a favorite?

I am a sucker for race gear but generally give myself a strict budget. I only get item I know I’ll wear, but must say Chicago always does a great job with their race shirt and I wear them regularly. If it’s an included item I don’t think I’ll wear I donate it right away so it doesn’t sit in my drawer forever. Love reading your thoughts and seeing snow in Utah already here in Virginia it’s been a roller coaster of weather but I’m ready for some colder days.

Way to be smart with the race gear… I’m following your ways now. I hope you guys get some colder weather soon. I can’t believe how much snow our mountains already have, time to ski! Hope your day is a wonderful one, thanks Katie!

What a great winter dressing tip!
I don’t buy much race gear. I would prefer to buy a Sarah Marie Design race shirt or sweatshirt. I love that (W)Indy Monumental gives a finishers beanie at the finish line.
And speaking of Windy Monumental-did you read that the half course was accidentally short? A road volunteer told runners to go straight rather than around the block. Post run buzz kill.

NO WAY. I didn’t hear about that, what a bummer. How short was it? Sara Marie stuff… good call. She makes the cutest things. I hope you are recovering well. You are so strong, I cannot imagine that wind! Happy Thursday, Molly!

I’m not a fan of Takis, but my son sure is!
Who says I’m not going to hibernate? LOL! I’m already trying to use my lunchtime on weekdays for things I normally do in the evenings (walk the dog, work out, run) to take advantage of the sunlight.
I’m a big snacker! If I can count it toward a meal, I do: tortilla chips as a side dish? Sure :)
I’m more likely to buy race hats or visors & really like one from the Outer Banks races.

Hahah valid point, I might hibernate too! What is it about boys loving Takis? They sound painful to me. Keep taking advantage of as much sunlight as possible. You have figured out how to lead up to a meal. Good call on getting the hats/visors, I’m going to need to try that out. Hope your day is off to a great start, Corey!

Omg, Janae! I’ve had dry needling done for my plantar. So so painful but I swear it worked. Worst part was that my PT saw me on a table that was in the gym so we had no privacy. I would literally rise on the table when the needles were put in. I must have looked so ridiculous. Hope you have a nice day!

IT. HURTS. SO. BAD. Oh my goodness haha, I looked the same way. I think I said a few words I wasn’t proud of either;). I definitely think it helped mine too, huge fan but hurt so bad. I hope neither of us ever have to do that again. Have a great day, Mary!

Oh my gosh, I love the spandex shorts under leggings idea!! I’ve been trying to solve that exact cold bum problem for this winter!

Right?!?! This is going to change our winter running…. warm buns here we come! Have a beautiful day, Sami!

I still wear my 2018 Chicago sweatshirt. It has thumb holes! And stains. 😂
I bought the cutest shirt after shamrock and I can’t find it. :(
I hope your head feels better!!

I love that you still wear that sweatshirt! My Boston one has stains on it too (and I haven’t had it nearly as long as your 2018 sweatshirt haha). I hope you find that shirt asap. Thank you, luckily I woke up and felt much better!
Have a great day, Mollie!

Your mountains are so pretty!
Jumping into the hot tub after a run is so good! We don’t get real cold out here, but there is just something so good about that warm water after a run. Same goes for the pool in the summer after a hot sweaty run.
Definitely not a Takis fan, but the boys were when they were younger. They both grew out of them, so maybe it’s an age thing?
I so wish we had Great Harvest here. We really don’t have a place for good bread like that. Hmmm, maybe I should open one! Ha
Hope your headache went away. Have a good day Janae 😊

I am so with you, water after a run is just heavenly (in the heat or the cold)! I wonder if Knox will grow out of them too?! Andrew hasn’t grown out of hot flaming Cheetos though haha. I FULLY SUPPORT THAT IDEA. I will come out and be your first custumer. Thank you, Wendy, it did wahoo!

I don’t buy a lot of extra stuff at the expo and some of the free swag I wear a lot? Okay Takis are too spicy for me BUT the Trader Joe’s version I love (and my kids do too). I’m also jealous that you have Great Harvest. It always looks so good!

I will have to try the TJ’s version, Knox will have to write a review;). I need to send you a loaf today. Hope your day is a wonderful one, Kate!

This is a reminder I should clean out my running clothes and get rid of things I don’t wear!

I gave out Takis one year for Halloween (I had candy, too) and the trick-or-treaters went crazy for it. I think it burns my tastebuds into oblivion!

Definitely small meals + snacks. I recently started buying Bugles and now find it necessary to have them every night. Like salty cereal, lol.

So glad your headache went away! Have a great day :)

Good luck with going through your running clothes… I try to but then I get sentimental about things and can’t say goodbye haha. Knox would have loved your house so much. I haven’t had a bugle in forever, I need to get those and see what Knox rates them. Thanks friend, you too!

Highly highly recommend Sugoi Bun Toasters (self-explanatory). Way better than a random pair of spandex shorts/no chafing/bunching. It’s described as a “thermal undershort” and it definitely gets the job done. This changed my winter running and made Chicago winters no problem!

Reply

Ummmmmm I have never heard of those before and I must buy a pair. THANK YOU and I hope your day is off to a great start!

Hi Janae! Last winter I’d put on an extra hoodie and sweat pants and run around the block to warm up, then drop my extra clothes off on the porch and continue running! But this year we moved and I don’t run from home much anymore so the dressing warm ideas are welcome! My running friend also puts her headband over her cap instead of under which helps hold the cap in place when it’s windy!
Happy Thursday!

I just don’t think I could do the pancake spaghetti! Haha, so funny though! I had dry needling earlier this year on my hip area, and I totally thought about you. I think the hip is a better area though because more fatty equals less pain? Someone told me they had it done in their face! Love the spandex shorts under the leggings, smart move.
