Friday Favorites!

(shorts, tank, shoes, glasses)

I was very much looking forward to easy miles on the dirt with my friends after so much speed on the roads.

9.11 miles @ 9:37 average!

Breakfast burritos with the kids and then they were off to school.

Knox and Andrew got a new dirt jumper.  It is tricky to convince Knox that he has to get off of it and go to school in the mornings;).

When Beck wakes up and we get him out of his crib, he insists on bringing each and every blanket with him.  He will not back down on this tradition.

Skye and Beck joined me for a 20 minute upper body workout in the garage. It was difficult and I have a feeling I’ll be sore for a while.

That’s about all I have from yesterday but I have a few favorite things to share:

*This equation that John shared with me last week.  It makes perfect sense to Andrew and me.

He is right.  And if you are on the fence about the Endorphin 2 or Speed 2… they are still 50% off here with the code FMTIB50 and they are beyond amazing.

*Keep Breathing on Netflix.  The reviews for the show aren’t great which really shocked me but Andrew and I loved it.  It is so intense and I loved but there is definitely some language.  We are also loving ‘Alone’ on Netflix.

*Halloween anything = Andrew’s love language.  When these two came out in skeleton pjs, it made Andrew very happy.

*Another Old Navy find that Courtney shared–> These shirts that are perfect for this time of year.  They are TTS, ribbed and so comfortable.  There are a ton of cute color options too.

*Peaches and tomatoes are so good in Utah right now.  I wish I could send you a box of both.

*This tween stage that Brooke has entered:).  I always worry about my kids getting older but I swear it just keeps getting better and better.

If you could only run in ONE shoe for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Any shows that you have been loving?

Favorite season of clothing–> I think I love fall clothes the most.

Tell me something fun you are doing this weekend!

This reminded me to check on the peaches I bought last weekend and they’re finally ripe enough to eat, woo!

This weekend some friends and I are going to a 5th anniversary party that a local coffee shop is having with a bunch of local vendors. I have my eyes on one of the gelato donut sandwiches!

Reply

I hope your peaches are perfect… I think they are my #1 favorite fruit. You are going to have the best time with your friends and I will need a picture of the gelato donut sandwiches. Sounds amazing! Enjoy, Maureen!

I am patiently waiting for my Pro 2s to come in the mail!
Brooke is such a big girl. And your nieces!! I love their sweet bond.
No major plans this weekend. I should probably bake cookies for my favorite nursing staff. They have been dropping major hints for a cookie delivery.

Reply

SO so excited for you to get the Pro 2s. You are going to love them! I think a cookie delivery is a great idea and I need cookies in my life this weekend now too. Happy Friday, Molly!

We are loving Only Murders in the Building. Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez. I can’t remember which streaming service it’s on, but it’s so fun!
Yay for peach season!! I love peaches.
Finally back to early Friday morning run with friends! It’s been a month, and boy have I missed it.
We are moving our son out to his college on Sunday. Wow! What a weird and exciting time. After 21 years, we won’t have any boys in the house. Definitely feeling emotional, but so excited for him.
Have a good day Janae 😊

Oh my goodness, that show is SO good. SO happy you are back to running in the early morning on Fridays with your crew. It makes the biggest difference. What a big weekend! Sending you hugs and I hope everything goes so smoothly. You are an incredible mom. Thanks Wendy, you too!

I haven’t been watching much tv this summer since we have been on the go so much but we are looking forward to the new Addams Family series that’s coming out on Netflix.

Love those old navy shirts..and I love the price:) I have to agree, fall would be my favourite season of clothing too.
Do you have a link to the pants you are wearing with the old navy tee, in the picture with Brooke?

My daughters soccer jamboree is tomorrow. They have won every game this summer, and have 2 more games tomorrow..so I’m really excited to watch her play!

Reply

We are watching Alone also. Honestly, why did they drop them somewhere with grizzlies and no fish? Maybe they wanted to make sure that the show did not drag on forever. I could take the isolation but only if I had food and warmth!

Reply

Bahaha valid point. I seriously do not think I could last an hour. I’m so impressed by these people and what they do! Hope your day is a great one, Jackie.

I absolutely adore my kids at the age they are now (15 and 20), but man, seeing Beck with all those blankets makes me a little teary and wistful of how I used to pick my babies up and carry them and all their stuff to the living room to wake up. :-( Goes by so so fast.

Shows: Can’t WAIT for “Wednesday” on Netflix, watched “Home Game” about little heard of extreme sports in other countries (some episodes were better than others).

Reply

15 and 20 sound like such great ages! I know I am going to miss this stage so much too… he is just so sweet! Going to watch both of those, thank you Melissa. Have the best weekend!

We watched the first episode of Keep Breathing and enjoyed it too! We will keep watching, but I also talked my husband into watching Ted Lasso so that’s definitely in the rotation, too. I loved Ted Lasso and am enjoying rewatching it with him.

My shoe pick would probably be the Asics Kayano. I rotate between those and Glycerins but I feel like the Kayano’s would be better for the rest of my life:)

I do enjoy wearing leggings and hoodies, but the ease of summer clothes gets my vote!

We are going to a minor league baseball game and a favorite place to eat before! Then on Sunday we are going to reserve the Rehearsal Dinner site for my son’s wedding(next November, lol–blows my mind that you have to reserve these things so far out but you do!).

Have a great weekend!

Reply

You’ll have to let me know with what you think of it when you finish it. Oh Ted Lasso is so good. I’ve never tried the Kayano and now you have me wanting to! Valid point about how easy (and less laundry) summer clothing is. Oh my goodness, that is so exciting and holy cow that is advanced notice haha. Enjoy the game and all of the planning. Thanks Jen, you too!

Ha, I was going to comment on the n+1 for the new dirt jumper before I even saw my quote. lol (Too bad my grammar was off)

One shoe? Hoka Clifton.

Reply

Bahah now the problem is what bike is next? Ummm I didn’t even notice your grammar was off! Yep, I think I’m with you on the Clifton (or the Vaporflys). Have a wonderful weekend, John!

I am running the Mid-mountain marathon tomorrow in Park City. I have had the worst training cycle, so many things went wrong and I have had so many appointments with my Doctors trying to sort out my stomach issues. I am excited, nervous, and hopeful that things go well. I have done this distance many times before and I know my body can go the distance. I am telling myself that finishing is enough. I have no time goal anymore, my plan is to enjoy the race and take some candy from every single aid station.

Reply

GOOD LUCK MEGAN! I am so excited for you and I have heard amazing things about that race. I am so sorry about your stomach issues and I really hope that you feel great tomorrow. FINISHING IS ENOUGH. Talk to yourself like you would your best running friend. Your body has been through a lot so take in the experience and remember that the goal is to finish! Also, if you take a picture of the candy at the aid station, I am going to need you to send that to me. Have the best time!

Reply

Hoka Clifton’s, for sure. Also watching Alone! I didn’t think I’d like it as much as I do. Also watching Selena + Chef on HBO.

Reply

I kind of rolled my eyes when Andrew started it and now I’m hooked ha. I’m with you on the cliftons (or maybe the vaporfly). I will have to start that on HBO too! Have a great day, Tess!

Reply

You are crushing this training! Cannot wait to see what you do! Question–do you ever run without your watch–or without even looking at your paces? I was just thinking that might be helpful for me on really easy days, but would love your thoughts!

Reply

Hey Avery! I always have my watch on but for my easy runs I never look at pace and just run according to feel. More often with my workouts now I am not looking at pace and focusing on effort and I find I do so much better that way. GO FOR IT and let me know how it feels for you. Have a beautiful day!

Hi Janae! I love fall weather too! We are still having heat waves here though, can’t wait for it to cool down a bit.
We started watching modern family here! We hadn’t seen it and watching an older show is pretty comforting.
I love my Mizuno wave riders for easy days so I’d have to pick those.
Happy Friday!

Reply

I hope those heat waves stop soon! Modern Family is one of my favorite shows ever. Those are amazing shoes, I loved them. Thanks Amy, you too!

Happy Friday!

If I could only run in one shoe, it’d probably be Brooks Launch. But I like switching up my shoes so I hope that doesn’t happen lol.

Only Murders in the Building and Never Have I Ever. The new season of Never Have I Ever came out last weekend on Netflix, so good.

Reply

The Launch are simply amazing and I’m with you, I don’t ever want to have to stop switching all around. That show is so good and I have to check out Never Have I Ever. Thanks Mariah and have the best weekend!

All or Nothing: Arsenal. So good!
Are you cream/white pants with the old navy top also old navy?

On Cloud Swifts….the most natural shoe I’ve ever run in…though my ASICS Nimbus are close
I love spring and fall…
10K race in Edmonton Sunday….the temp +32C forecast……it’s gonna be warm

On Cloud are so great! GOOD LUCK ON SUNDAY! You are going to crush it!!

I bought these shoes off of your recommendation and used your code! Thanks for sharing! I really wanted to love them, but they are just too narrow for my short fat feet. They don’t come in wide width. I’m wondering if any of your followers have found a speed shoe with a wide option!! I have the hardest time finding one that works for me.

Peach and tomato season here is sooo delicious!
And I totally think you should start a hungryrunner running club! 😘

Reply

NO NO NO! I am so bummed. The vaporfly are problem just as narrow. I could ask this as a blog post question one day, would that be okay?
Hahaha I think I could put together some really cool jerseys:). Have a beautiful day, Natalie!

Reply

Fat footed people want to have fast shoes too!🤣😂Iwould be so grateful if you asked this question! Thank you, Janae!

Reply

Do you know how long the code is good for?!

LOVE the Endorphin Speeds and might try out the Pros!

Reply

Hey Claire! I have no idea how long the code is good for… a reader sent it to me because she found it on Retailmenot. I need to try out the speeds, I am so in love with the pros. I hope you love them too. Happy weekend!

I thought the same thing as my boys got older, but It does just keep getting better and better. My boys are 23 and 21 now and we have an amazing relationship! Living in Alaska, really good fruit is hard to come by. My oldest son lives in Maui so when we go visit I eat my weight in fresh fruit. :)

Reply

I LOVE hearing this. I hope you get to visit your oldest often. I want to live in Maui! Have a great weekend, Tracy!

There is a second part to the N+1 equation – “This equation may also be re-written as s – 1, where s is the number of bikes owned that would result in separation from your partner.” Ha!

I don’t think that I’ve found the one perfect shoe. Just when I think I have, the next model comes out with some change that doesn’t work for me.

I love Fall clothes, but reality of Fall in So Cal is more like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MtJoQ8Jc9M

Today is Les’ birthday so I’m celebrating him all weekend! We walked 2 miles this morning before going out to breakfast. We’re off to a great start.

Reply

BAHAHA love that quote and that youtube clip was awesome… come to Utah for the fall. Happiest birthday to LES!

Reply

So many shoes……how does one pick 😂

Reply

Thank goodness we don’t have to pick! Have a great weekend, Karen!

How many miles can you put on the endorphin pros? I just ordered them and I can’t wait to check them out! I also just got myself a pair of vapor flys on sale. I wore them for a 5K time trial on Thursday and they were amazing!

Can you explain when you wear the endorphin pros and when you wear the vapor flys? Maybe you need a whole post on this!
I’m planning to wear my vapor flys for my marathon (Steamtown Marathon in Scranton, PA). I wear Brooks tempos (I think that is what they are called) for speed workouts/faster runs. I wear Hoka Cliftons for all my easy runs.

Reply

Bought the endorphin 2s for my first marathon (Detroit in October!). Ran a few miles in them yesterday, and they feel like an adjustment but I am excited!

Reply

HANNAH! I am so so excited for your first marathon. How is training going for you? I am so happy you got the pros, you are going to fly! Keep me updated with all of your training!
