Friday Favorites!

(shorts, tank, shoes)

Seven miles @ 8:45 pace with Jo and Lauren to start my morning, and then I was out for most of the day for a new collaboration with Bullfrog!  My niece took good care of the kids while we were gone.

I also did 1.72 miles (I’M COUNTING EVERY STEP AT THIS POINT) during the filming we did outside.

We took a lunch break for my favorite rice bowls at 180 Tacos.

And then the kids joined us for some of the scenes too.

Simplicity is my favorite.  Bread, cheese, tomatoes, and balsamic glaze is all I need to be happy.

I have a few favorite things to share today:

*I have not been interested in watching the Bachelor/Bachelorette for a while until this season.  I love the bachelorettes, they are so entertaining to me.  It’s the perfect time to foam roll too.

*New favorite oversized t-shirt.  I love Outdoor Voices + I love oversized t-shirts + I love running-related items, so this has been a win with these shorts for me.  I went with a Medium, and it is a unisex shirt!

*If you have milk/juice drinkers in your house, this is a fun one.  It is a drink dispenser.  We leave the milk in the fridge door, and boom, they fill it up without having to get it out.  The kids think it is really fun, and it has prevented 100% of the spills from occurring while pouring milk into their cereal.

*I love salt more than sugar.  I said it.  I don’t know how this transformation happened in my 30s, but it has happened.  While I love both tremendously, chips while in the hot tub to relax my muscles might be my favorite thing right now.

*The other night, at the group run I went to, they let us test out the Saucony Endorphin Pro 3.  Ummm wow.  These felt incredible and springy.  I wish we could try out every pair of shoes for four miles before buying them.  I can’t wait to get a pair of my own now.  They know how to get runners…

Who wears Saucony?  Which shoe?

Does anyone else love Bachelorette this season?

Sugar or salt… Which do you love more?

The best type of chip (and mentioning your favorite dip will earn extra credit points)?

Zapp’s – Voodoo flavor. In case these are not available to you in Utah, I will post the description: Zapp’s New Orleans Kettle-Style Potato Chips in Voodoo flavor are the delicious result of a happy accident. The unique flavor features salt and vinegar with a smoky BBQ sweetness and spicy, jalapeno kick. They are soooo good.

I. Need. These. Chips. I will order them online if I cannot find them and thank you for the description, it made me smile (and drool). Have a great weekend, Autumn!

I have also switched to salty from sweet since being in my 30s

What happened to us?!?! Hope you have plenty of salty goodness this weekend, Mal!

Happy Friday!

Best type of chip and dip will always be tortilla chips and salsa, guacamole or queso!

I don’t wear Saucony but those shoes have such a fun design.

Hey Mariah! The design really is so cool. I hope you get some tortilla chips and guac this weekend, I need some of that too. Happy weekend!

Saucony Endorphin Pro 2! Love them too!

Did you see that they were recently 50% off?! I am hoping that happens again so I can grab them. Have a beautiful weekend, Sue!

If you use RetailMeNot, there is a code for 50% off the Endorphin Pro 2 on the Saucony website :)
The code is: FMTIB50

ELIZABETH! YOU ARE THE BEST. Just ordered them!!!!!!

Ummmm….why does it look like there’s a snake around Knox’s neck????

I need those shoes! They are so cool. I’m 100% sure they will make me run faster.
The best are BBQ from Smyder’s of Berlin. After that, it’s Wise brand crunchy cheese doodles and onion rings. None require dip. But the best dip is guacamole.
Have a great weekend!

Hahah it is a snake stuffed animal that my mom gave him:). I think you need the shoes too, they are so fun. I need those chips. Now. I hope you get chips and guacamole asap. Thanks Lee, you too!

Love both but probably lean sweet.
Saucony Ride. Love Saucony!!!
No to Bachelorette.

I feel like the switch from sugar to salt happened when you were pregnant with Skye!

My favorite chip is tortilla chips, not picky on exactly which one because to me it’s just a vehicle to eat salsa. Which the best salsa is 303 southwestern flame roasted green chile one. I don’t know if it’s technically a salsa because it’s literally just the green chiles but it’s so. dang. good. I have 3 jars in my basement right now lol

I’ve had a few versions of the Saucony Kinvara–nice cushion with the heel-to-toe drop that my feet like and a wide enough toe box.
I think my salty-sweet balance is about 60-40, or maybe even 70-30. Tortilla chips are my kryptonite! And (I hope this won’t break your heart) I’m not a big fan of any dips…however, I’ll go with salsa verde or Yo Quiero salsa if I’m feeling sassy ;)
That simple cheese bread looked amazing. Would pesto ruin the simplicity? Mmmm!!!

LOVING this season of the Bachelorette. The date in the theater made me get so ~emotional~. You’re doing galactic thinking rolling out and watching TV…I gotta start that ha!
The Saucony Endorphin pro has been my shoe choice for a while, it’s absolutely delightful.
There can never be too many shoes, IMO. Your foot is the first thing that gets the privilege to touch this earth, I like to treat those ladies well.
Have a good weekend!

I switched to Saucony from Mizunos when they changed my favorite shoe (Wave Inspires). I wear the Saucony Guides and the Hurricanes but I think the Hurricanes are being discontinued.

Sugar before salt but during marathon training I have been craving chips. My favorites are Late July tortilla chips.

I stopped watching the Bachelor years ago – I’m into Married at First Sight on Lifetime right now.

I like the Saucony guide. I switch between those and Brooks ghosts right now.

I am liking more salt than sugar right now too. After a hot run I either want cold peaches, or pickles, ha!

I like tortilla chips best. I can eat them plain, but with Newman’s own pineapple salsa is heaven to me:)

I have been on the hunt for some new shoes and randomly bought the endorphins to try. I LOVE them! It is almost impossible to run slow in those shoes Lol. Now I am just looking for one more comfy pair to add to the rotation and next up to try are the New Balance 1080v12. I’ve never worn NB before and I am excited to branch out, hopefully I will love them too!

Btw, I have also started trying to build my heat tolerance this summer by training midday. My last 2 races were supposed to be cool weather and ended up being high 70s, effectively killing my race plan. There is no predicting weather anymore! While I will have my fingers crossed for a cool London this October, I am not taking any chances. The training is brutal, but I think it’s working 👍

Btw, what does Knox have around his neck in the first pic?
Have a great weekend Janae!

Well, based on my last terrible marathon, I can say it is POSSIBlE to run slow:) But maybe not the shoe’s fault! I love the saucony pro

Hi Janae! I haven’t watched this season of the bachelorette but I heard there is a contestant who is a meatball enthusiast??? I am very intrigued by how I can get that job. Usually my friends and I watch some of it together so this is a good reminder! It’s such a fun show to watch as a group.
I love salt and vinegar chips but I can’t eat too many cuz they hurt my mouth! So it helps me control how much I eat at once haha.
Happy Friday!

Since I joined the Saucony race team they kind of require me to wear them. Thankfully, I love them. I absolutely love the Endorphin Pros and they are my go-to for any race from one mile to marathon. I also have the Saucony Rides which have been amazing daily trainers. The Kinvaras are good for speedwork training.

Sugar and salt both hit me at different times, but it is usually salt for me as well. I have a thing for the plain Frito corn chips and also the Kitchen Cooked plain potato chips. They have kind of a oil taste when you bite which might sound weird, but it’s so good.

My now 5-year old wants to do everything himself so thank you the dispenser tip. This will be a lifesaver.

I race in the alphafly- the bounce just so far for me hasn’t been beat.
The first edition of the pro’s i’ve had 2 pairs bc they were only 100 on amazon. I’ve used these for some races and speedwork and I like them but not really as fast for me as the alphafly. a little firm and then my foot will go numb if I run longer than 90 minutes.
The speeds however are almost like a daily trainer if I expect to do anything more than plod along. If I just need a little boost at all I really like these. I found they lasted just under 300 ish miles before the foam went dead.
For plod along/lonngg runs the triumph is great. The footbed molds to your foot over time. I’ve gotten a few pairs of the triumph 19’s for the slow long runs or just slow runs in general. I don’t want to feel the ground under my feet sometimes and these are nice and comfortable

I use Saucony triumphs and I have a pair of their trail shoes, also just got their Saucony Peregrines but haven’t tested them out yet. I have the endorphin pros too and sadly they were the last straw for my knee and set off an arthritis flare in March. I can’t be 100% certain but they are a shoe that puts energy back into your leg which can be hard for knees. So I handed them over to my daughter!

cool..our group had our Brooks Rep on hand with test shoes….I didn’t take part (I’m a Brooks guy most of the time) she had the new Glycerin’s to test out…I liked the look of the stealth version…..and those that tested liked what they tried, so they’ll all be in our store shopping soon!
I’ve tried Saucony over and over….I don’t mind the Kinvera, but I’ve used the Triumph and the Hurricane, and possibly others, and they never feel just right….Saucony seems to make changes every season, they should pick a lane for more then one…
I crave salt when I ride or run..otherwise, I’ve got to stay away from sugar, not for health reasons I just know it’s not good for me…..it took me forever to kick that habit

Reply

First, I was about to ask how you just gloss over the snake on Knox, but then saw your comment… could never get that close to a big snake!
I’ve been running in the Kinvaras for the past 3 years and really like them! I used to run in the Nike Frees but they changed up the design completely and they no longer work for me. I ran in those for nearly 8 years!
I have only watched one season of the bachelor and that was when it was an Italian prince. I watched it with my roommates senior year. It’s more fun when you watch it with a group!
I LOVE sugar right now.
Favorite chips: Nacho Doritos (classic), Garden Salsa Sun Chips, and not a chip but original Dotz pretzels! So addicting!

First off- the drink dispenser is gold. Thank you for sharing. I was unsure how to get my kiddo to use a gallon jug when she’s not quite 6. Solved!

Saucony- I remain a Kinvara lover. It’s just lovely for tempos and even 5k-1/2 efforts. I’ve used the Endorphin pros for the last couple of marathons and have enjoyed them, but they do tend to shave my 2nd toe a bit. For reference- I was a Ravenna girl, but I’ve been on a On Cloudstratus recently for daily trainer and have been loving it.
