Couldn’t pass it up + the best distraction.

(Tank, shorts, socks, bra, shoes)

My car doors were left open yesterday due to a rotten milk smell. I cannot find where the milk was spilled… it is so fun.

A short workout was put on the schedule for this week, and I’ll do another short one next Wednesday too. Today included 3 x 1 downhill miles –> 5:28, 5:22, 5:16. I felt so fresh when I looked at my watch for the last one, I was shocked to see my fastest time since 2019.

We finished up with 3 x 200s in the parking lot, and my pace for those was the same pace I was doing for the mile intervals;). Short sprints are not my thing! 9.16 miles total at a 7:07 average.

My friend was at the Nike outlet, and they had the Alphafly for $138 (basically 50% off) in my size and grabbed them for me. I couldn’t pass the low price. I’m excited to try them even though last month I decided not to… constantly changing my mind, ha. One of my greatest strengths;)

The St. George Marathon training group:

I found a great way to keep Beck distracted so that I can do strength after my run… spoons of peanut butter. They bring so much joy to his life and happily eat while I lift.

15-minutes of lower body strength!

I’m really into good sandwiches right now, and my favorite way to eat them is to eat the crust first because the center is by far the best part.

For my activity with the girls Brooke’s age in our area, we made homemade ice cream in a bag at the park. They hung out together in hammocks while they ate ice cream.

Just a few more random things to talk about before I say goodbye:

I am finally feeling recovered from camping last weekend. I have taken a nap almost every day since we got home. Tangent –> Sleep is my favorite recovery tool because it is free and more effective than any other thing for our recovery.  PS we loved our 10-person lighted tent, it took 3 minutes to put up and 8 minutes to put away.
These kids would choose a camping trip over any other type of vacation.

Beck laughs his head off when we swaddle him like the good ol’ days.

It’s Jo’s birthday, so we are heading up for a trail adventure.  I am bringing the fruit salad.

I don’t change my mind but I take FOREVER to decide on things lol.

Beck and I have one thing in common – a spoon on peanut butter can distract us! Sometimes you just need to eat it straight off the spoon. Have an amazing day :)

That is so Andrew… it takes quite some time to decide! Right?! A spoon of pb is quite the treat. Hope your day has been great so far, Maureen!

We once had milk spilled in our car, ugh. Did you look under the seats? That was where our milk went. After that our children weren’t allowed to drink milk in the car anymore. I’m a slow decider. I ordered my first pair of goodr and got them yesterday. I hope to try them this evening. Have a great day!

I think this is the end of drinking milk in the car too… it is SO bad in there. I’ll check under the seats, you are the best. Let me know what you think of the goodr, enjoy! Thanks Evalaoh, you too!

It’s funny you use peanut butter to keep your kids distracted because I do the same thing with my dog! An empty peanut butter jar and she will stay busy forever :)

I’m constantly changing my mind! I like to make decisions really quickly which sometimes means I have to PIVOT a lot when it doesn’t work out. This especially happens with travel but I kind of love it- it just means that we’re flexible right? (sounds better than indecisive lol)

Hahaha kids, adults, dogs… pb just makes us all happy and distracted. Pivot… perfect word to describe us. Flexible does sound a lot better;). Hope your day is a great one, Gretchen!

That tent looks awesome!

I always eat the edges of chocolate off Kit Kat bars before I eat the rest. I eat the entire crust off my sandwiches before I eat the rest. I eat all the skin of an apple off before I eat the white part. I just have a thing with edges of food;-)

I LOVE sales! I will gladly spend hours going through racks of clothes/shoes/anything to find deals. A guy in town has a “Target garage sale” everything is brand new items from Target. I go nuts! A huge majority of our clothes and shoes are from there because it is only a $1. Side note: we have a garage sale going on right now—selling all my MIL’s stuff since she passed away last year and NEVER again, it is so much work!

Have a fabulous Thursday Janae.

TWO MORE SLEEPS! SO excited for you! That is the only way to eat a Kit Kat bar and I will have to try that with my apple next. Target garage sale? Ummm I need to be at the next one! Oh I bet that was so much work to put that all together and right before your marathon?! Thanks Becky, you too!

Eeewww… Spoiled milk smell in the car is the worst! I hope you find where it’s coming from.
Yay! New Nikes for you. I’m excited to hear what you think. I’m still looking for new shoes. I can’t decide what I want.
Those shorts you’re wearing are super cute, and when I clicked on the link, I noticed they’re on sale! Time for new running shorts 😁
I’m heading out for an easy run today, then getting some more stuff done around the house.
Have a good day Janae.

The smell is killing me! Thank you Wendy, I’m excited to see what I love most between the two. YAY for new running shorts, let me know what you think of them. Hope your run was a great one and that you have a great run with your friends tomorrow!

Good morning, Janae! Can I just say for the 10th time that I love, love, love Beck’s hair – makes me smile every time!!
I don’t change my mind often, but it takes me FOREVER to make some decisions. “Analysis paralysis” anyone?
My first bite of pizza is usually the corner of the crust. I think maybe that’s not the norm LOL! I have also been known to tear off the crust or extra bread of sandwich or burger roll and eat it first to get to the good stuff :o)
I think sales drive all of my impulse buys LOL!! You scored a great price on the Alphaflys and how kind of your friend to snag them for you! Have an awesome day, Janae :o)

Reply

Janine, never stop telling me that! I love it too! Andrew 100% has analysis paralysis too… it’s hard for him to decide. I decide too quick! Interesting about the crust… save the best for last! Thank you, you too!

Your tent is giving me Harry Potter tent vibes.
Did you eat the ice cream? Curious if that would effect your stomach since I can’t eat ice cream either.
I’m sure your kids are having a great summer!

Reply

I didn’t even try it… I am so afraid of those stomach aches again! Thanks Molly and I hope you are too!

sure, this morning…woke up with a headache, not sure where that came from, so instead of hill repeats, prepping for my next virtual clinic, a zoom meet I thought was next Thursday, is actually tonight (stress?) …..20 participants wanting to get to that first 10K,should be fun…..
I’m not patient enough to wait for sales…..

Reply

I hope that your headache is gone, that is the worst to wake up with one. Good luck tonight! So awesome that you are helping them get to that first 10k!

Those shoes were such a great price! You’d be crazy to pass them up! I love finding a good deal on something you were interested in any way :)

I don’t have littles anymore but anytime I’m on the floor it’s an invitation for the dogs! I have a gym set up in my garage and they are not okay if I’m out there without them. I kind of want to get a play yard to put them in… Ridiculous.

Reply

I just couldn’t say no to them! Bahaha they need that play yard… they just want to be with you as much as possible. They love you too much:). Enjoy the rest of your day, Marissa!

Have always eaten my sandwiches this way and also eat pizza crust first. My boyfriend thinks it’s weird that when i eat Reese’s Peanut Butter cups i eat the edges all the way around and leave the center for last because it’s the best. I actually eat all my chocolate bars this way because I’m not a big fan of chocolate so usually just want to get into the center goodness :-)

Reply

I need to start eating my pizza crust first, that is so smart. I love eating my candy bars that way but I love chocolate so I can’t agree with you on that;). Have a wonderful rest of your day, Mary!

Reply

I also eat sandwiches crust first, save the middle for last as thats the best part! I did not know this was the weird way to eat, I thought this was normal!

Love a good sale. I very rarely buy shoes at full price, sales are the only way I can afford them (especially as my sister got me into hoka now)

Reply

It’s just really the only way to eat a sandwich! Maybe it is the normal way haha. YAY FOR HOKA! They truly are the most comfy running shoes ever. Have a beautiful day, Sarah!

Reply

I also eat my sandwiches crust first! I have since I was a kid. I would have skipped the crust altogether, but my mom told me that eating crusts would help me learn how to whistle ;)
I also always eat M&Ms according to color preference, even though they all taste the same (brown, yellow, orange, red, green, blue).
Find something you already want on sale is the BEST!! Especially if they actually have it in your size!

Reply

LEARN HOW TO WHISTLE?!? Okay, that made me laugh so hard and now I will tell my kids that. I always heard that the crusts had better nutrition… not sure how that works;). I love that you eat your M&Ms according to the colors, brilliant. It really did work out so nicely, I cannot wait to try them out. Happy Thursday, Karin!

Hi Janae! Your tent has lights??? That’s even cooler than I thought!! I’m also stealing the “fruit salad” idea that’s hilarious. Reminds me of how me and my friends used to call fries “warm potato salad”
Have an awesome time on the trails!

Reply

WARM POTATO SALAD… I am so stealing that! Hahah! Thanks Amy and have a beautiful rest of your day!

Janae – if you and your family want a good laugh this is how we used to set up a tent in the 70’s. Also consider we set this up at a place called Table Rock Lake. And it’s called Table Rock Lake for a reason, there was nowhere to pound the stakes in so you had to hunt around for a patch of dirt for the stake and then tie a rope extension to it.

Hahaha we are not hardcore enough to put up a tent like that or in a place like Table Rock Lake! Hope your day is a great one, John!

Can you please share the link for your tent? I see you fit a pack n play in yours and would love to do the same!

Oh my goodness that little Beck burrito is the cutest thing ever!! :)
