Silentish Saturday!

Happy New Year!

6 miles of running.

Wasn’t slick which was so nice.

Before the run, I did a 20-minute strength for runners class… I find it near impossible to do strength after a cold run bc I am shivering so before works best.

EVERYONE IS FEELING SO MUCH BETTER.

Hi Janae!! A very Happy New Year to you and your family!!
I am going through such a difficult time right now. I felt like I had to breakup with Jim because of some very serious mental health struggles that were going untreated. There is nothing more that I want for him that hope, peace, joy, and love in his life. I just sobbed to my parents today during breakfast. I just feel so guilty for leaving him. I really hope that he and I can find a way to remain friends because I want so badly to cheer him on in life and become the best (well, healthiest) version of himself possible, but I also know it may be healthiest for him to have more of a permanent goodbye

Clare, my heart is broken for you. I am so so so sorry. I wish I could give you the biggest hug. This is heartbreaking. I am here for you if you ever need to talk and it really does sound like you did the absolute right thing. You are an amazing human.

Treadmill and ab workout; meal prep; and trying my best to do nothing. My health insurance company gives all of its members the pelaton app for free. I may download it and start doing my strength workouts from it. You are always posting about quick 20 minute workouts. That’s what I need.
I’m glad Skye is feeling better! That’s a great start to the new year.
Happy 2022!

LEE! I am going to require you to get the app today. Message me after your first strength workout. They are SO effective and fun (I can’t believe it either)! Let me know and have a great treadmill/ab workout and good luck with doing nothing (that is always hard for me too). Thanks friend and happy 2022 to you!

Happy new year!!!! These past few days have been crazy, we were sick, stressed out about that, but now we are much better. Glad to see your kiddos are better too!
I saw your running goals post from a few days ago but haven’t made any goals for 2022 yet! I’ll do that today since it’s a rest day.
Happy new year again! Hoping for a healthy and happy year for all!

Happy New Year!

1) Easy run in my new Brooks Adrenaline shoes (my 2nd pair, these were a Christmas present)
2) New Year’s Day lunch with husband and friends
3) Some downtime spent reading or watch Ted Lasso (I’m an introvert and all the holiday get-togethers have been great, but I’m excited about some down time)

Reply

Oh how I LOVE the Adrenaline! It feels so so good to go out in a new pair of shoes. Enjoy the lunch with your husband and friend and we LOVED Ted Lasso. Good for you to know what you need and do it! Happy New Year!

I love your quilt Brooke! I’m making one too! Here’s the link to the tutorial I’m using, I think you might like it: https://www.diaryofaquilter.com/fast-flying-geese-sawtooth-star/

Please keep me updated on your quilting! My Mom taught me how to quilt when I was in college and now that she is gone I love that connection I have with her. Happiest New Year!

Happy New Year!!
I forgot to say yesterday… Thank you for another year of friendship, your awesome blog/conversations, and your community! I’m so looking forward to another wonderful year!
Today is all about doing very little! Making monkey bread while watching the parade, then going to my sister-in-law’s house to just hang out and watch bowl games.
I hope you have a wonderful day and relaxing weekend! And thank goodness everyone is feeling better! Wahoo!

Wendy. This made me smile so so big. I am so grateful for your friendship and kindness to me over the years. I really feel like we know each other in real life ha. I LOVE that plan of doing very little. Enjoy, you work so hard all year long. Thanks Wendy!

Happy New Year to you and your crew, Janae!

I’ve only done one thing so far – I ran a half marathon this morning to kick off the year! I love the peaceful streets on New Year’s Day.

BEST WAY TO START OFF THE NEW YEAR! Way to go, Kathy!

Hi! I started reading your blog in 2021 as I took up running regularly during the pandemic. Thank you for sharing your positivity with us! ❤️ Question for you: do you run in trail shoes or something else in all that snow/slush? Having recently invested in my most expensive pair of running shoes, I find don’t want to wear them in the rain or snow!

Reply

HEY JILL! I usually do throw on trail shoes when it is slippery, right now I am just wearing whatever shoes make my plantar happy! YAY for a new pair of running shoes, that is so exciting. Thank you so much for reading and let me know if you have any other questions!

The quilt Brooke is doing, is it a kit or just pieces of fabric? Fill me in girl, my 7 year old keeps asking about trying to see or knit :-)

Reply

Hey!! It is pieces of fabric! We went to the store and she chose out what she wanted and I’m helping her with cutting but then she is doing all of the sewing herself! It is so fun to see her confidence when she finishes a row! Have a beautiful day, Jess!
