I’m getting over a cold and haven’t run all week, plus it’s only about 30 out, so I’m enjoying my morning coffee before I head out on a short walk. I start a new job next week and am excited!

I hope you had a great walk and I am so excited for you and your new job. PLEASE let me know how it goes and I hope you are feeling 100% in no time. Happy weekend, Cynthia!

My college aged son is coming home for the weekend (yay!) I have choir rehearsal, and I want to eat out Mexican later! What are Andrew’s shoes? I have a Peloton bike arriving next Tuesday and am soooo excited, I bought the Peloton shoes but not sure if my husband will use it or not, so was curious about the shoes!

Reply

Tricia, I am SO happy that your son is coming home. I bet that is the best feeling. Have a great time with him, at your rehearsal and out to eat (now I need some Mexican). Here are the shoes he has and loves: https://www.als.com/spclzd-shoe-torch-10-ws/p?idsku=681305&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&adpos=&scid=scplp681305&sc_intid=681305&gclid=CjwKCAjwz5iMBhAEEiwAMEAwGF2gc4-yOLWsKZdb5oquJdvPfw_VseL_5Jl0NIbThHzMyWohbCfp_RoCcaMQAvD_BwE

PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK OF THE PELOTON. Let’s be friends on there too. I’m so so excited for you guys!

Went for a 5 mile run ( well 5.4..) and at least my youngest and I don’t have any plans for the day. Well she is watching our neighbors dog which means that is where we will find her all day. They leave at 9 and she will likely head over at 9:01. So cleaning and putting away Halloween items on my list today!

Reply

You better keep counting ever .X of your mileage, that is AWESOME! Good luck with the cleaning and putting away Halloween. Your daughter is going to have a blast dog-sitting! Happy weekend, Carrie!

I’m doing Peloton, my niece’s soccer game, and a pedicure today. Janae, have you done any workouts with Becs Gentry? She almost made it to the marathon event in the Olympics. Peloton made videos documenting her journey. I think you would like it! Have a good one!

Reply

I NEED TO TAKE HER CLASS! Does she do the bike classes? Everyone says she is just the best. I can’t wait to see her journey. I hope your ride was a great one and enjoy the soccer game and pedicure. Thanks Jo Anne!

5 mile run this morning! Treated myself to coffee after since it was in the 30s (when did it get so cold?!). Then going to the UMD vs PSU football game with some friends from school! Have a good weekend!

Reply

30s?!?! When did that happen! Great run and good call to treat yourself after. Enjoy the game and thank you, Mariah!

Just about to head out for 5 or so miles, then yoga! I’ve missed the last couple of Saturday yoga classes (life), so I am excited to go back. Then late this afternoon, our youngest has a marching band field show competition at my husband’s old high school. It should be fun!
So, this week we have had super foggy mornings, and I absolutely love it! It might be my favorite weather to run in. Anyone else like fog?
Hope your ride was awesome, and have a really great weekend Janae ?

Yoga and a run… sounds like a great morning! Have the best time at your son’s competition, that is exciting. Oh I love running in the fog too…. It turns it into an adventure. Thanks friend, you too!

I love that long-sleeved top you ran in. I have a few of the ‘love’ tanks from a few years ago, but I might have to investigate the long-sleeved tops to get me through fall and winter.

Beck is getting even more animated–I wonder if there will be any patterns to what he LIKES to get into/what cupboards he opens/etc.? I’m curious!

YAY for a bike ride! For my day today: I went to barre (after taking the last 3 weeks off because of LIFE), and this afternoon I am going to run an errand to return a sweater that just did not work out when it reached me in the mail, and then take myself out to lunch and crack open a book that’s been sitting on my bedside table, and in the evening get myself ready to teach my spin class tomorrow morning! (Oh, and Tom and I are having turkey taco nachos…one of my favorite “throw things together” dinners because I can determine just how ‘junky’ and ‘healthy’ I want my meal to be at the exact same time)

Nothing totally interesting…but I am VERY happy to have a normal Saturday where I don’t have job hunt worries hanging over my head. :)

Have a great weekend!!

The long-sleeve love tops are so soft and comfortable and I love to switch things up with a loose top! Right now he just wants to get into everything possible ha… hoping for more patterns soon. WAY TO GO to barre, I have online done online short classes and it kicked my booty. I love that you are taking yourself out to lunch today, good for you! I really want to come to your spin class tomorrow. I must try these turkey taco nachos! Sounds like a perfect day and I am so so so happy about your new job. You have worked so hard. Absolutely amazing, Stephanie!

Let’s see, just did Crossfit, going to yoga, then may do a hike.

But the real reason I’m writing is that I saw you had a link to your watch. As I increase the distances of my trail runs, I’m finding the Apple Watch does not cut it. Are you happy with yours? They’re not cheap, so I want to make sure I get a good one!

Thank you and have a great weekend!

Hey Jen! Way to go on crossfit, yoga and maybe a hike! I absolutely love my watch. I will use this one as long as it lasts because it does everything I need. I have it in white too and here is my review:

https://hungryrunnergirl.com/2019/11/garmin-fenix-6-review.html

I got the saphire screen in my second to avoid it cracking (my first one still works perfect, just wanted a different color and a watch face that doesn’t scratch.

I hope you love it! I found the same thing happening with my Apple Watch, it just couldn’t keep up with everything I needed with running.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Beck’s expression in the pantry–LOL!! Nothin’ going’ on here.
I just bought a new-to-me Sunny bike! Since you used a Sunny for so long, I started shopping around. I found a Pro II on marketplace for only $175, and the seller had barely used it. Now I just need to get going on some videos since today is my very first day on a spin bike!
SO HAPPY for you and Emilee getting in some pain-free miles :)

Hahah he is getting so sneaky. AHHHHH I hope you absolutely love it. It is an amazing bike, I used it for 10 years. Please let me know what you think! Enjoy and you got an amazing deal, that is the best feeling. Happy weekend, Corey!

I just finished my longest run in over 2 years! 16 miles — I might be on the couch for the rest of the day. I’m currently in grad school so I’ll definitely be getting some work done, as well, and then going to go shopping for some holiday candles!

I have a question for you about the Peloton: how will you plan to incorporate those workouts into your exercise routine when you’re back training for something? My apartment complex has a few bikes and I want to take advantage of them, but I’m also in the thick of marathon training so most of my workouts are running based (with the occasional cross-training workout thrown in during the week). Thank you!! Hope you have a great weekend!

SIXTEEN MILES! Huge huge huge congrats Maria, you are amazing. Good luck with grad school, you sure have a lot on your plate. That is a great question… I currently have no idea ha. I’m going to have to experiment with it. I’m guessing during marathon training I will be doing 2 days on the bike but not all out effort since I will still be doing speed/long on the other days and will need to give my body a break. Anyone that does this have anything to offer? I’m excited that your complex has bikes! What marathon are you training for?

Reply

You are so sweet! Thank you!! I like the 2-day/week bike idea…I might try that out myself. Would love input from anyone else, as well! I feel very fortunate that we have the bikes AND that my friend let me join her account. I’m training for the Houston marathon in January. I recently moved here and the race runs right past my apartment (which could be a bad thing depending on how tired I am at that point…will be very easy to want to just walk on up to my cozy space haha!)

Reply

Congrats on the move and I am SO excited you are running Houston! I’ve always wanted to do that race. Please keep me updated on the training and so happy you have a peloton to train with! Hahaha that has happened to me with a race before, it was so tempting to run to my couch instead of the finish line but you’ve got this!

We are driving back home (Denver) from St Louis with a 3 yr old, 5 month old and a 10 yr old dog. It’s going to be a LONG day!! We left late bc it’s hard to leave on time with kiddos… especially when one is awake from 3:45-6… We also have been sitting in construction traffic for nearly an hour… and we just started the drive! We made the drive to St Louis for the first time with the little one in September but drove through the night both ways… which were rough on my husband and me as we couldn’t sleep in the car and were EXHAUSTED and struggle bussing all day until it was bed time.
I’ve been doing a mix of running and Peloton and I think both has made me a stronger runner! I’m also still doing core and PF exercises to stay strong.

Reply

Wow, you guys are brave! I hope the drive goes really well…. and that you get in a nap. You were up so early! I feel the same about driving through the night… makes it easy with kids but then trashes me for 3 days after! I LOVE LOVE LOVE reading that the Peloton has helped you with your running. I can’t believe how good of a workout it is. Hope you guys are getting closer to Denver!

Went to Bodypump class this morning at the Y (outdoors in the parking lot!), currently grading my 6th graders’ English essays, and off to my son’s soccer game later this afternoon! An afternoon together, just me and my boy ?
P.S. I am also obsessed with my Peloton bike. It has saved my sanity and my fitness!

Reply

Heather, I love hearing that about your Peloton. I seriously do not understand how I went so long without it. Way to get in the strength today and enjoy every second with your son, you sound like an amazing mom!

Went for a hike yesterday. It was a hilly one.

I’m so excited !! My first personal Gantt chart is in place. So now as I complete my to dos I see how they contribute to completion in an area of the chart. I can also see the universe of items I prioritized at this time, and how much is behind and ahead of me. This is so much more meaningful than just a to do list !!!

I also love the bike and have a pair of thick equipment to practice it every day. Have a great weekend!!
